Heartfire (Vertaige & darkangel76)

To say Evie's day had been boring would've been a complete and utter lie! Mina had managed to keep her occupied a good portion of the day. The woman fussed and lavished attention upon her like it was no one's business. In fact, it made her wonder if she was trying to politely say that her own unique sense of fashion lacked in some way. And... perhaps it did. She'd always been a bit different from the other waitresses and tenders at Tech Noir, so why not in the social circles of... dragons?

Oh, Evie had to almost cringe at that thought. Who would've guessed she'd be rummaging through closets of a seemingly endless supply of clothes and all for an event with the dragons! She certainly hadn't expected it. Then again, her entire life had turned upside down ever since she threw that damnable bottle of water. Still, it wasn't like she was treated poorly by her new Master—oh, she didn't know if she'd ever get used to thinking of this dragon in that regard—but, still and all. He was what he was.

Feeling suddenly cold, Evie's mind drifted. Her blue gaze went distant and her thoughts were a dark swirl of murky color. Large hands grabbing while the gruff bellowing sounds resonated in the air. It was enough to chill anyone's blood. As a shiver ran along her spine, she blinked a few time and sucked in a sharp breath. She'd be damned if she dwelt on the memory. Forcing herself back to the present, she held up the one dress and let her slender fingers run along the fine material. It was a lush red and matched the coloration of the mark she now bore on her one arm. She giggled softly as she looked at the mark, shaking her head just slightly. The color actually went well with her other tattoo. Who would have guessed?

Picking up the gown, Evie had to admit that the fabric felt lovely against her skin. It was lush and cool and the rhinestones sparkled brilliantly when the light hit them just right. Smiling, she went to get the perfect set of underthings to wear with such a gown—a lacy red thong and a red garter belt to help hold up the nude-colored nylon stockings she'd certainly be wearing. The gown itself was floor-length, the material like liquid as she slipped it over her body and being a backless dress, it had a bra insert in the front. She sighed softly as she adjusted the straps, feeling like a princess in the elegant gown. Looking down, she noticed the slit up the front of the dress. As she took a step forward, her legs peeked out, giving anyone who would care to look upon her a view of her legs. A heated blush swept over her cheeks just then for who would admire her? She then found a pair of red heels and slipped them on.

"Ready or not," Evie whispered to herself. She glanced at herself in the mirror and tried to smile. Swallowing hard, she then pushed open her door and made her way out so that she could get to the restaurant where she knew Duncan and the others would be waiting for her to arrive.

When Evie arrived in the limo he was in shock...more accurately a gout of flame had shot out his back forming his wings which now stood unfurled and oustreched. Also dwnstairs he felt his loins throb and tried his best to keep cool. Something very hard when looking at something so...primal, so sensual it screamed for him to pounce and steal her away.

He moved close and placed an arm around her hips, his tail now poking from behind him wrapping around on of her legs almost posseisvly.
He almost lost control and his pheramones flooded the air, so much that he knew any female dragon for a mile would soon come bum rush him for a clutch of eggs. Her soft skin and aroma made his whole body tense and he felt something stir below his belt. He moved in once and bit her ear, allwing himself ne small taste. Then summoning his inhuman control, regressed back into his human form and spoke,
"You look...breathtaking Princ-Evie."
He then took her by the waist savoring her squeal as he did so digging his fingers into her plump rear.
"Behave and I will give you a reward."
He led her to the table where not only Aihrmin sat with an Asain woman in a kimono but a female dragon sat with ice white hair and a young man dressed in a white tux.

Duncan moved to teh chair across from him and pulled it out for Evie while whispering,
"Aihrmin of House Galvon and Shiva of House Dristand."
He then sat across from her his wings anmd tail shwing now to match Aihrmin's gold and Shiva's white.
He knew the had begun disscussion but he only had eyes for Evie. He wuld respond and even talk as well but his eyes were never far from her.
"So Lord Lowfyr my brother sends his apologies, he was caught up dealing with an issue with the humans. Appartently one had gotten hurt at his office..."
Shiva said as she nodded to Duncan, figures Alcor wouldn't show. The ice dragon was scared of Duncan so here he sent his older sister to negotiate.

Evie was beyond nervous as she entered. She knew she'd be the center of several of those attending's focus and that just made her tummy flutter and her hands shake. But she wouldn't let these dragons get the better of her. So, holding her head up high, she poised herself and set a steady pace as she walked toward the door. Once inside, she was met with a rush of gazes, but the one she found and fixed upon was that of her new Master's—Duncan Lowfyr. His eyes smoldered, his form looming larger than usual as he looked upon her. She suddenly felt smaller in his presence than she had in the past. To think she'd dared to throw a water bottle at him? It was almost laughable when she thought back on that day. But she hadn't had any idea of the effects of her actions nor where it would bring her in the end.

And now, here she was... Miss Evelyn Bentley, servant to one fire dragon... Mr. Duncan Lowfyr.

Biting down on her lower lip, Evie took a step toward Duncan, her lush red dress rustling lightly against her stocking'd legs. She vaguely noticed his body shifting—wings unfurling, tail extending. A part of her mind, though it was a small part, cried out for her to run. But she found that she couldn't, that she didn't want to. She could smell that intoxicating aroma, that scent that was uniquely his and beckoned her to that flame. Better to burn, the voice in the back of her mind whispered. Though she knew no harm would come to her. Once she reached his side, his large hand touched her hip. It was warm, searing her flesh in a way that almost made her whimper. It was so... strange... these sensations. And... his scent. Oh, it distracted!

Evie glanced up at Duncan, her blue eyes taking in the sight of him as he escorted her further into the room. She knew she should be frightened. He resembled the many who tried to terrify humans, tried to take advantage, but... He wasn't trying to do that. She knew it. Just then, she felt something rub against her leg. Again, she bit down on her lip, her eyes fluttering shut as she stifled the tiny gasp that tried to escape her lips. Something was happening, something she didn't understand and couldn't explain. Looking down at the floor, her eyebrows furrowed and she tried to make sense of things, but... oh, that scent. She breathed it in deeply, her body moving closer to Duncan's.

Suddenly, Evie let out a tiny squeak. Though she kept her posture, her steps remaining even as Duncan walked her to their seats. He's bitten her ear, his mouth hot and wet against it. Almost instantly, she felt her tummy turn flips, her body temperature rising as her heart began to pound. Just... just what was happening? What were these sudden feelings and sensations? She was confused. And what did he mean by such gestures? She surely would have to find out.

Finally, Evie sat down, her seat across from Duncan. She looked over at him as he began to chatter with the other dragons, their affairs still a bit strange to her though she was trying her best to learn as much as she could. Suddenly, she had a thought—a bold thought, a daring thought. Her mouth went dry as she pondered the idea, but it was something she knew she needed to do. And it was now or never. Or else she'd lose her nerve. She smiled at everyone at the table, her gaze finally resting on that of Duncan's.

"If you don't mind," Evie began. "I need to excuse myself for a moment." She blushed prettily as she moved to stand up. "I'll be but a moment. I'm sure I won't be missed?" Her last words were directed at Duncan, her eyes fixed on his as she said them.

Taking a deep breath, Evie elegantly made her way to the ladies' room. Being a finer establishment, the room was clean and well taken care of. Without hesitation, she did what she'd set out to do. She entered a stall and quickly removed her lacy thong, folding the tiny garment up into her hand so as to conceal it. Once done, she immediate left and quickly returned back to the table. Her eyes fixed upon Duncan as she approached and she couldn't help but smile coyly.

"I apologize for my brief absence," Evie stated.

Evie leaned over Duncan as she spoke. One hand rested gently on his shoulder while the other went to rest on his lap. She glanced downward and saw his hand. Carefully, discreetly, she pressed her folded up panties into his large, warm hand. The moment they were in his hand, she stood up and headed over to her chair where she sat down and smiled.

"So," Evie then said, her eyes finding Duncan's. "What dishes are recommended here? I'd love to know." Her cheeks flushed slightly as she asked her question, her body leaning forward as she breathed in deeply the one scent she knew she'd never get tired of smelling.

Duncan almost took her the moment her undergarments touched his hand. However he stood and spoke,
"Excuse me, i have to take care ofsomething."
Then he grabbed Evie by the arm and escorted her t the mens room. Inside he locked the door and without a word took her thong and gentle holding her, replaced it on her body, savoring the moment going slow and letting his hands cup her ass, his body shifting to his hybrid form, his hands warm, leathery and claws gripping her soft supple flesh. Then he glared at her ignoring his arousal now occasionally brushing against her through his pants,
"I need you to behave, everyone at the table can smeel us and you are embaressing me." He wanted t take her, all rational thoughts almost gone but he ignored his raging hard on and went to the sink to splash himself with cold water.
"If you do anything else I will punish you and you will regret ever setting foot into my house."
His voice was steady but lacked any real edge, like he was trying to convince himself rather than her.

He escorted her back to the table and began speaking with Shiva, making a few remarks on her brother's expansion into his territory and ordered for Evie. He was confident she'd behave but his mind still longed for the silken fabric of her dress against him...
He ignored it and let his body fall back into his hybrid state as the others did as well. He streched out his now clawed feet and dug his talons into the plush carpet, his tail wrapped around his chair and his wings folded. Airhman had his Princess in his lap and would kiss her now and then, while Shiva had her Prince beside her the two holding hands out of sight. Duncan sighd. At a table with human lovers and here he was lusting after one like a fledgling. He knew better and the pair was also aware of his stance, probably why they were keen on being in contact with thier heirs. After all Duncan was the only one across from his heir, not beside her as tradition.

Evie's blue eyes were immediately drawn to where Duncan gripped her arm, the hold tight as he all but dragged her out of the room. His eyes were fierce as they locked with hers for a brief a moment, the grip tightening ever so slightly causing her to scowl and narrow her eyes in protest to his actions. Clearly, her little stunt had gotten a reaction from this aloof dragon—cracking the wall just that little bit—which seemed to surround him like an iron shield. A tiny grin played on her lips just then as he suddenly brought her into the Men's Room, his expression showing what appeared to be a scary sort of calm. But she could sense the roiling emotion underneath that exterior now. The way his hands suddenly rubbed against her legs as he put her thong back on, the way his cock pushed at the material of his pants. Somehow, she'd struck a nerve. And somehow, she'd struck it true.

Swallowing hard, Evie could feel her mouth going a bit dry as she watched, felt him. She had to admit the way Duncan's hands languidly moved along the outside of her legs and then along the curve of her backside... he was relishing the contours of her body and, much as she didn't want to admit it, was enjoying it back. Her blue eyes shifted, moving from his faced and slowly down along the length of his body, drinking in the sight of him in its entirety. And that scent... That intriguing scent was permeating the air, thick and intoxicating as the aroma filled her nostrils with that delicious smell that she was now beginning to realize was him. He then confirmed it along with his embarrassment of her behavior.

Evie smirked inwardly—ah triumph—as Duncan moved to the sink, explained there would be consequences for any further behavior and then walked out. She stood there silently for a moment before following him, her mind reeling over what had just happened between them both. Her skin was still searing slightly, electrified from where he'd touched her—her body warm, her cheeks red. She glanced at herself in the mirror, her reflection, chest heaving with skin pink and tingling, staring back. Oh, he was testing her. He had to be. Well two could play this game.

Just then, Evie took a deep breath, her body deliciously shaken from the interaction as her knees wobbled and her thighs quivered. She steadied herself as she felt the heat sweep over her cheeks and down along the swells of her breasts. No. She had to remain calm. This game wasn't over. In fact, it was just beginning!

Evie sat herself down in her seat across from Duncan, her blue eyes sparkling as she smiled at everyone. She gave her Master a nod as she looked upon him, her eyes narrowing slightly as she leaned against the table. She watched Duncan relax at his seat while the other whispered to their partners—how curious! Casually, she slipped of a heeled shoe, letting it drop to the floor with an almost silent thud. She giggled nervously, but brushed it off quickly.

"Mmm, this place does seem wonderful," Evie stated, her foot slowly edging toward one of Duncan's outstretched clawed feet. She wasn't sure if she was being bold or stupid, but she was committed now. This game had begun and it would continue until there was a clear winner... whoever it might be.

Evie's nylon covered foot slowly, sensually brushed against Duncan, smooth and silky as she began to slide it upward. She just looked over at him, her lips quirking upward into a shy, yet coy smile, her cheeks flushing pink. Slowly, slowly, she slid her foot up his leg, caressing first the calf followed by his thigh until finally her foot rested against his cock. She moved her foot ever so slightly, her smile broadening.

"Whatever made you choose such a beautiful place?" Evie then asked tilting her head as her other foot, shoe already slipped off, began to caress his other clawed foot with slow sensual movements all hidden by the grand table all of them were sitting at.

Duncan had been soeaking but the moment her foot came to rest on his cock, he became silent/ Looking across at his heir he felt his breath shorten. H etried to play if ff but his cck throbbed and slightly he thrust his hips forward, his mind begging for him to get closer, his tail slowy wrapped around her ankle, and started snaking up her other leg, his mind feverish at the touch of her soft, smooth nylons. He couldn't help himself as his clawed hands grabbed her foot and started to rub, he looked the same for the most part, the only indication anything was bothering him was a slight change in tone,
"I feel-that your brother--is hiding..." Every few minute Evie would push her foot into his crotch and he tried his best continue.
"The fact that he---is raiding my territory."
He felt her wriggle her toes as he grasped her foot again and her smirk said, why not make yourself useful? I could use a massage

Absent mindedly he still rubbed, his own tail snaking up to her pussy, slipping past her thong and gently probing her clit. He held back a moan as he glared at her.
"Evie my dear, this place is famous for it's cuisine, but dessert, well thats why we all came." He fed his tail into her at the line about dessert and felt a savage pride as she squeeked and turned bright red.
However he knew if she continued in his lap, he'd either burst or take her to the restroom for some stress relief...damn his libido, he had his principles but she was making it so very hard with her soft skin, that evil smirk and her wonderful bratty attitude.

As Evie carefully and calculatingly moved her one foot against Duncan's crotch, the arch resting quite comfortably about his cock, her blue eyes fixed themselves upon his. She tried to gauge his thoughts, desperately searching for some kind reaction as she began to gently scrunch her toes and slide her foot against the bulge straining against his pants. Oh yes, he was hard, most definitely aroused as she fondled and teased him, her other foot caressing his leg all the while underneath the table and thus out of sight of everyone. She felt a surge of victory as he shifted in his seat, his hips thrusting forward as if pleading for more. A tiny smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she watched him, her body leaning forward as she rested her chin on her hands, her elbows propped up on the table itself so that his mark upon her flesh was more than visible to everyone present.

Yes, this game was too perfect! And Evie was going to come out the victor. Or, so she figured. Smirking coyly and victoriously, her reverie was suddenly broken as she felt a brush of warmth against her foot. Her blue eyes blinked rapidly at this sudden turn of events, her face going stark white before it reddened a dark shade of scarlet. But, she couldn't let on that he was affecting her. No. She had to play on. A rush of adrenaline washed over her and she felt Duncan's hands firmly grasp her one foot. Gone was the feather light touch. Biting down on her lower lip for a brief moment, she brought a hand up to her hair and flicked a stray lock, trying to show her nonchalance though she wondered if the dragon truly bought the charade.

Swallowing hard, Evie's other foot did its best to slide along Duncan's other leg. But her movements were halted when she felt something warm wrap around her ankle. Her breath hitched and her own hips wriggled as she felt the movement of something snaking its way up her leg. Trying to show that she was unaffected, she leaned back and let out a sigh, but the sound came out more as a whimper causing her cheeks to redden and the tingling movement of warmth to rise ever further up her leg. Her blue eyes looked down and she saw Duncan's tail. It was expertly probing and coiling about her. It was as it...

Just then, Evie let out a tiny squeak, her hand going to her lips as she felt something pressing against the material of her panties. Her eyes looked into Duncan's. Oh, he was toying with her now, playing a dangerous game. One that seemed to go beyond the boundaries of the agreement they'd first made after she'd thrown that damnable water bottle. Her eyes narrowed, but as she looked at him, his tail probed further, pushing away the lacy fabric until it finally was caressing that nub of sensitive flesh between her legs. Without even realizing it, her legs spread wider, her body shivering, trembling as he massaged the tiny bundle of nerves, pushing her closer and closer to the edge.

To get even, Evie began to wiggle her toes of her one foot resting against Duncan's crotch, making sure she was teasing him just as maliciously as he was her. She let out a gasp as he continued his torment, her cheeks red, a sheen of sweat forming on her brow. Finally, she reached for her glass of water and took a sip, her movements slow and deliberate as she sighed. As she set the glass down, she smiled sweetly, though her body was on fire... so close to the edge that she needed some air.

"I..." Evie stammered. "I need to excuse myself once again," she said quite apologetically. "I'll be but a moment." She eyed Duncan with a glare, carefully bringing her feet back down and slipping back on her shoes. Once she stood up, she calmly began to walk away toward the Ladies' Room where she could splash some water on her face and readjust her thoughts. For there was no way she was going to lose this game. Not if she could help it.

Duncan coughed and stood, his mind thinking of something other than Evie. He felt his own erection lower as he concentrated his mind on several repulsive thoughts. He spoke very calmly and tried to hide his own scent of arousal.
"I am sorry but I must attend..."
"Lowfyr, don't lie to us. Your poor servant is in heat and she clearly needs to rest." DUncan would have not expected an out from his rival's sister but something in her look made him aware of her desire.
"Please return to us later. And if you wish to discuss my brothers recent discourteous actions we caould reconvene at my estate...maybe negotiate for a few days..." she gave him a smirk and he raised his brow...
Unlike Evie she was a dragoness...someone he could invest in and not lose much if she was truly interested in courtship. Besides Shiva was stunning and Duncan was willing to bet she was a shrewd business woman, an odd turn on for dragons but a large one nonetheless.

However he had problems, so he bowed and accepted her offer,
"I would be delighted Lady Shiva. Lord Airhman."
The thunder drake smirked and leaned back with a nonchalant face.
"Go Duncan...help your heir if you must but next time you stay for our whole dinner."
Duncan walked into the women's room and shut the door. He even broke the handle off and stood menacingly in front of the only exit, growling low, looking at Evie hungrily.
She was in touble...so much trouble. Not only had she disobeyed a direct order, he had let himself grow weak and lustfull all because this child wanted attention, to play what she assumed was a game. Luckily Lady Shiva had just safed him massive face, but Evie was going to be punished, and every dirty though in his head spurred him to do so thorougly. However he held back and moved to her his claws out and his body still in hybrid form. He slammed his hands into the mirror behind her shattering it and glaring into her eyes.
"YOU HAVE ONE MINUTE BEFORE I EAT YOU,NOW EXPLAIN WHY YOU DECIDED TO DISOBEY ME!?!?"

Evie turned on the water, her hand immediately reaching for the cold water. She twisted the handle, turning the thing all the way on so that the water ran hard into the sink. The water splashed and swirled about the drain, her hands resting on either side of cold marble as she stared into the mirror, her reflection—a princess donning red—staring straight back at her. It was unnerving as she listened to the pulsing flow of the water as it fell from the faucet, but also soothing. Averting her blue gaze from her reflection she stared at the water and placed her fingertips within the flowing stream. The water was frigid to the touch, exactly what she wanted and needed.

Sighing audibly, Evie splashed the cold water upon her face, her cheeks red and burning. To say she was flustered didn't even begin to describe how she was feeling in that moment. She felt confused, overwhelmed, her body completely and utterly on fire as her senses tried to reel out of control. Standing there and splashing more water upon her porcelain-pale skin, she knew she'd had to get out of there, away from his gaze, his touch...

His touch... Evie's thoughts wandered as she recalled the way Duncan's tail had expertly caressed her body, exploring it like no other ever could or ever would. In an instantly, she could hear herself panting, her chest heaving as her both her thoughts and her body began to betray for her eyes to behold there right before her in that wretched mirror. She wanted to sneer in disgust, but she found that she couldn't. It was impossible. Instead, she stood up and looked downward, taking in the sight of her body, which had suddenly become so very needy.

When had this happened? Oh, Evie didn't even want to think on it! It was utterly ridiculous that such thoughts were flitting into her mind at all! Her hands touched her hips, smoothing out the wrinkles in her gown and moving along her curves. They then moved toward her thighs, going to rest along the crease where leg and pelvis met. Her skin was so sensitive, ignited with life as she touched herself. Just then, her thoughts were interrupted as the door flew open.

Evie jumped with a start, her cheeks burning brighter as her hands moved away from her body, trembling... shaking. She bit down on her lower lip and backed away from the door, blinking rapidly as she watched Duncan angrily approach. Swallowing hard, she felt herself wince, her eyes averting as she turned her head away. It was impossible to hold his gaze, his breath hot, his words loud and harsh as he shouted at her. She felt the wall behind her shudder as the mirror cracked and crumbled.

"I..." Evie stammered, her knees shaking, her body shivering. She could feel his hard gaze, those eyes! Her hands gripped at her dress, almost clawing at her own flesh beneath the thin material. "I..." Her fear was rising as her heart pounded, her breath catching. And then she dared to look at him. The moment her eyes connected with his, she felt a surge of anger course through her veins.

Evie had to wonder why Duncan was angry! Had he not touched her? Had he not explored and prodded and... Her thoughts drifted then as she remembered the way his tail had searched her body. Masterfully prodding her flesh to awaken in ways she hadn't expected or anticipated. She brought her knees together just then, her eyes narrowing.

"Me?" Evie shrieked. "I didn't disobey anyone! And you speak of embarrassment?" Her breaths were short and coming harder. "Just what were you trying to do to me out there?" she yelled, fury in her voice. Her cheeks burned brightly as her eyes glazed over, her entire body ignited from everything he'd done and now with the added anger that he'd blamed her for arousing... them both.

Duncan felt everything rise, his anger for her disobediance, his own shame for lashing out at her and his own damned arousal. His cock throbbed and burned as he moved in close and felt his whole world spin. He tried his best to think but it was no use. It was impossible, the stupid girl in front of him had come along and not only attacked him but now made him confused. He almost lashed out but his body bettrayed him as he grabbed her and pulled her in for a hard kiss, his long serpentine tongue wrapping around hers. He felt his erection rub against her, throbbing as it rubbed against her cool silk gown.

His claws went from her waist to her thighs, savoring the soft and smooth nylons. He poured every ounce of lust into the kiss and stopped after a few seconds, pulling away and glaring at her,
"You...BEHAVE," his voice oozed dominance and was hard as stone. He cursed himself and thought about dismissing her from his house all together but pressing matters took precendent... He snarled as he went back the the table and grabbed SHiva by the wrist. He snarled,
"Limo now!" and she replied by smirking and leting her tail trace his cock as they made it towards the car.

He threw her in and pounced on her, shutting the door with his tail. The limo rocked and steam rose as fire and ice clashed and Shiva moaned, her sounds coming from the limo as Duncan unleashed all the pent up lust for his Princess. He even thought about her as he pounded into the dragoness, imagining her soft curls, her lips making sultry whimpers, and her soft body pressing against his. While he was fucking Shiva, in his mind he was ravaging Evie.

Fury raged inside Evie's mind, her blood boiling as her thoughts raced causing her heart to pound beneath her heaving chest. She was angry, furious! How could Duncan accuse her of anything after his own behavior at the table? Oh, it was just like that horrendous conference all over again! Damned dragons! They always thought themselves above everyone else! She had to wonder why that was, why they thought they could waltz into any human's life and just proclaim themselves the better. It was more than aggravating and she was tired of seeing it time and time again. Would it ever change?

Could it?

As Evie's thoughts flitted about, Duncan suddenly pulled her close. She could feel the heat emanating from his body in warm waves as the space between them lessened. He was closing the distance, bringing ever closer. Her muscles tensed and she felt her skin break out into goose bumps as a tiny shiver ran along her spine. Just what was he doing to her? How was this happening... why?

But Evie didn't have a chance to finish her thoughts. Anything and everything coherent left her mind the moment she felt Duncan's hard lips press against hers, claiming them how she somehow knew they were meant to be claimed. Ugh, to admit that though? Never! How could she? But, the way he was kissing her, grabbing onto her. It was beyond odd that it somehow felt... right.

Without even hesitating, Evie's lips parted and she whimpered, letting out a soft sigh as her hands began to slowly move to steady herself. Just as she was about to reach out, to hold onto Duncan for balance and—though she didn't want to admit this either—for reassurance as well, he pulled away. His eyes mirrored the wrath she saw all over his face and heard in his words as he gruffly spoke. Finally, after several long moments, he let go of her though she could still feel the searing heat of his touch despite the loss of contact. After he stormed out, she stood there dazed, her confusion growing as her anger and frustration simmered just below the surface.

Swallowing hard, Evie splashed more cool water on her face, her blue eyes glistening with tears she fought to hold back. As soon as she gained her composure, she walked out of the rest room, she slowly and almost reluctantly headed back toward the table. Her blue eyes caught sight of Duncan as he and the female dragon made a mad dash for the restaurant's exit. She tilted her head, her arms moving to wrap about her middle. Suddenly, she wasn't feeling so good, a knot forming in the pit of her tummy. Her breaths came in short rasps as she blinked rapidly, watching the two exit, her airway suddenly constricting as she found it difficult to breathe.

"I... I think I need some air," Evie said to the others at the table, giving them all a polite smile. "I do apologize, but I am not feeling well." Her expression was sincere, apologetic. Giving them all a nod, she made her way toward the door and walked outside.

Evie braced herself as she walked outside, the air cold compared to the stifling heat inside the restaurant. She sucked in a sharp breath, her eyes drifting over to where Duncan's limo was parked. The moment she glanced that way she saw the vehicle moving, rocking hard against the pavement. The glass fogged as the thing jostled and bounced in a rhythmic movement that only meant one thing.

Evie winced, her arms tightening about her middle as she stared at the limo. Her thoughts were beyond that of confusion and the tears she'd managed to hold back not long ago suddenly fell along her cheeks. Angry, she raised her hands to wipe them away, but her sapphire eyes remained fixed upon the limo. Just then, a sound bubbled up from her mouth. Without thinking on things any further she glanced at her arm, her gaze fixing on that blazing mark she bore. Frowning, whimpering, she took off her heels. She threw them both at the limo, making tiny grunts as she did so. Her feet now bared with nothing but her nylons on, she turned and ran away from the scene, not wanting to stop until she got home. Home. If she had her way, it wouldn't be home for long.
