Like most of there world, there was a trick to reading that book. One could go through it the normal way like a human novel, but it would take years. She would never actually finish it that way. In fact when reading over the words, the first ten chapters would cleverly repeat itself over and over again. It was done in a way that one wouldn't even notice they had been reading the same thing over again. At least for a few decades.
However if you could follow the instructions of those first ten chapters, one could manage to absorb the knowledge into them. Like they read it all within a few seconds, allowing one to know the basics and how to bring their power out. Of course he could train her, but that would take too long and wasn't as fun as this. Well he could make it, but he couldn't be as harsh on her as his mentor was on him. Trying to figure out how to use magic while being hunted by centaurs or even werewolves with the full intent of killing you wasn't a good way. Especially not one he wanted to put his wife through.
Evander sat at table on the balcony of his castle overlooking the land before them. This wasn't the same place he had fought the five wizards, that was a decoy home. This place could only be reached by him, his own private tropical island that he was given by his mentor. Well one he took after killing the old bastard. "Sweetheart, breakfast." And with that, he waved his hand before him. This caused her to appear across from him wearing a white robe made out of Egyptian silk.
"Eat before it gets cold." He told her. Fruits, jam, toast, eggs, and ham had been prepared for them and he hoped she liked it.
