His eyes widened when she grabbed his shoulders and planted her lips onto his. He stumbled back a bit, a blush to his face as he heard her. "A fitting mate...!?" He was moreover surprised, but did not seem...refusing of the offer. "How do I know YOU won't make a fitting mate for me?"
"Thats how I prefer my fights...hand to hand. I prefer not to use a weapon unless I truly need to, Cockatrice." Nathan sat back down on his bed and looked to the bird girl, thinking he should just kill her in her sleep or something so he could get out with his freedom that way. But would she even trust him to be alone with her while she sleeps?
She smirked. "Very good, this shouldn't take long for you to earn your freedom anyways. Besides, your last master was going to make you just keep fighting anyways."
"Then come back tomorrow when I get some more rest. For now...I wish to rest and relax before I have to fight for my freedom once more." He replied as he moved back to his bed and laid down in it, pulling the covers over him lightly as he relaxed into the hospital bed.
She nodded. The next day she returned, carrying a comfortable looking robe with her. "Here, no reason to wear rough clothing when you're not fighting or training."
He nodded, and took the robe from her and put it on himself after changing out of his clothes, not caring if she saw him nude. He still had his bandages on and decided to leave them on for the time being. "So? What am I to do today, cockatrice?"
"Ah...So I'll get to at least leave this place...That is welcomed news as well, cockatrice." He replied. "Lead the way then. I don't mind a little walking to get my back into shape."
"Good, I hadn't planned of getting us a carriage anyways." She smirked, hefting a pack up over her shoulders. "Come on then!" She led him form the infirmary, down the main road out of town.
He nodded and followed behind her. He walked outside for the first time in so long. It felt amazing to smell the fresh air. He would have to thank her later. "Hey. You never told me your name, cockatrice."
"A day's walk is fine...Though walking for twenty four hours straight might be a problem for me in any given scenario..." He murmured as he followed after her. "You really couldn't have rented a horse or anything for us to use though?"
"Gee. I wonder why...Cockatrice." He murmured. After several more hours of walking, he felt his chest and grimaced a little. Maybe there was a little more wrong with him than he thought, as his ribs did sort of feel funny.
"No...No I'm fine." He murmured. "Just feel a little funny in the chest is all...maybe that kick you gave me did do more damage than some flesh wounds..."
