When Predators Become Prey (Yuna & Elehina's 1x1)

Afterglow continued to dance along Lillithria's body, soft pants and whimpers leaving her lips every few seconds. Had that really just happened? The still very sore midsection and sights and smells of blood - her own that had signaled she used to be a maiden - all but spelled it out. But she didn't know what seemed worse to her; the fact she hadn't cared on it seeming to be stolen away so easily or the fact she'd gotten off from what would normally be very harsh and unwanted contact. To say she wasn't thinking by now was quite the understatement. Just speaking was a chore in itself ... but fear helped the huntress manage to find her voice. She didn't want to give Allesandra the impression that she would have the nerve to ignore her.

"Y-yes ... we probably should." She managed to reply. Her legs still shook, though not so much she couldn't move away from the wall and underneath the rushing water. Another soft sigh left as her eyes slowly closed. The wound upon her neck had already mostly healed by now. The worst damage was still in her aching and stretched slit though that was ... improving with each passing second also. Her eyes stayed closed as she allowed the water to cascade down her body, reaching every nook, cranny, and curve as it fell upon her skin. And whilst her eyes remained hidden away from everything else, she began to think and contemplate ... mainly regarding what had just happened.

It wasn't that the dhampir didn't understand it. Quite the opposite; her mind knew damn well what'd just occurred. But ... why? Why was she adjusting to everything so easily? That was what was taking her so far aback at the moment. While it was true that no one had gotten her in as bad of a spot as Allesandra had, there had been some close calls. And even during those times ... she fought back! But with this woman, she'd all but waved a white flag within seconds. And it was infuriating her, stinging what pride still remained in the huntress.

Had things gone that badly that she surrendered herself in every aspect so fast? It must have. There was no other explanation for why or how things had gone down the path they had at all. Her eyes slowly opened once again and by now, her muscles were moving voluntarily out of instinct more than anything. Her heart pulsed as she reached for the nearest bar of soap, beginning to wash away all hints of the activity they'd just finished with. No one needed to know ... though she had a feeling Lizzy had likely heard anyways.

Still, no one else needed to put two and two together like that.

Allesandra didn't spend long in the shower, and as soon as she was done, she left. She gave Lilli a kiss on the back of the neck as she passed, and a light slap on the ass. "Enjoy the water, I expect you need the relaxation."

She took her time getting ready, slipping on black stockings, the leather halter dress she was wearing that evening, though she just put on slippers for now. No sense in spending all afternoon in heels if she didn't have to. Then she went out to examine the progress on Lilli's dress, looking over Lizzy's shoulder while she worked. As she watched, Allesandra brushed her hair out, talking with her head bent to one side.

"So, what do you think?" she asked, without preamble.
"She seems a little out of her element, poor dear," Lizzy replied, over the rumbling of the sewing machine.
"She is. But she'll deal with it," Allesandra replied airily, flipping her head to the other side and continuing to brush.
"Well, you aren't one for giving choices are you, our Ally?" Lizzy asked, with a half glance up at the vampire.
"I always give people choices."
"Serve me or die isn't normally considered a choice among humans, you know," Lizzay said with a sardonic little smile.
"Pish. Why the third degree?" Allesandra asked.
"She seems very...young, dear," Lizzy replied, the sewing machine momentarily stopping.

Allesandra paused in her brushing, and glanced back down the hallway towards the bathroom. "I suppose. But they're all so young to me - even the old ones." She resumed brushing her hair, bending over and flipping it forward to brush out the back.

Lizzy didn't say anything else, but she went back to making the dress.

Allesandra knew what Lizzy was getting at though, after a few months, or a few years, or a decade, Allesandra would grow bored and discard the girl in her shower, as she had discarded so many before her. It was inevitable. They aged, she didn't. If nothing else, the simple march of time would break them apart. Better to enjoy one's self in the now than worry about what if's and what might be's, in Allesandra's opinion.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

An appreciative nod quickly left Lillithria's head upon hearing the offer of remaining under the water for a bit longer. "T..thank you. I think I will for a bit." And once her new 'Mistress' left, she went silent. All she bothered to listen to was her pulse, the water and the voices that soon registered as Allesandra and Lizzy. It hadn't been intentional to seem as if eavesdropping; but the vampiric part of her had subconsciously kicked in. And suddenly ... the hybrid almost began to wish she hadn't heard anything.

The words made her panic and worry. Was she really just ... something to keep beside Allesandra for a while? Then merely discard away? She didn't want that! Especially when the choice to join her bad been practically forced. Her fists angrily clenched and her body shook. She felt herself torn once again, the same anger and dislike trying to take over the huntress once again. But it was being kept at bay - mostly - due to the new sensation of what was trying to seem like ... loyalty? Dedication and devotion? Would that even matter? If she did every task asked of her well - perfectly even - would she still wind up being shoved away? Or worse?

It made Lillithria tremble more and before she could stop herself, soft sobs began to fall from her eyes. This day had been so very confusing and tormenting. The bits of humanity still within her were doing anything but helping her figure anything out, especially herself. She tried to keep her volume as soft as possible, her fists unclenching as they hid her face.

Never before had the poor huntress felt so unsure on what to do. She abruptly wanted to turn the water off and go into a run ... even if it would be pointless. The other and more stronger portion of her wanted to pray for the best. But how long would that even last? She wanted to know and didn't all at the same time. Still, this was even more stupid than the 'what ifs' racing through her mind. Crying wouldn't change anything.

And that realization was enough to make her cease and calm down, getting her composure and breathing all back together again. Her head tilted back as she swallowed nervously and resumed enjoying the water for a bit longer. Only when she was certain she was done did she finally make it all halt and wrap a towel around her body. She didn't dare walk out of the bathroom, though, until she got rid of as many hints upon her face which had spelled out she'd had a childish crying fit not but seconds ago.

When she was relatively confident she'd gotten rid of as much evidence as possible, Lillithria allowed her feet to guide her out of the bathroom and into the room where the dress was still being worked upon. She gave a light bow to both women though said nothing aloud, not wishing to disturb especially Lizzy from her work.

Allesandra looked over at Lilli as she came into the room. She could see something on her face, but the girl seemed to be quite good at hiding what she was thinking. Allesandra wondered briefly if she had been crying. She thought she'd heard something over the sewing machine and their talking, but she hadn't been sure. Still, if Lilli wasn't bringing it up, she wouldn't either. Better to have those kinds of conversations in private.

She had finished brushing her hair, and beckoned Lilli closer. She put the girl on her knees again, in front of a chair, and sat down, starting to brush Lilli's hair while the sewing machine churned on. Allesandra found herself admiring the girl's hair. It flowed through the brush like silk, catching the light so that it practically glowed.

It actually made Allesandra happy to have someone to take care of, even if her idea of taking care of someone was a bit twisted after several centuries. She was humming quietly as she brushed, and when she was done, she set about braiding, twisting Lilli's hair into an elegant braided knot on the back of her head.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

No sooner had Lillithria made her appearance did she appear to be needed by Allesandra again. Her heart raced slightly as she moved forward, feeling herself guided into the familiar position. A soft sigh passed her lips as her light blue eyes closed. It was indeed a very unusual way to be spoiled ... and something that Lillithria wasn't at all used to. But the feeling of her hair being brushed by someone else wasn't bad. Foreign at worst .. but nothing too horrid. Even if only temporarily, it did make her forget thinking about her fears from not but long ago and even the 'bracelets' and 'anklets' upon her respective joints.

"Thank you ... " She murmured softly, keeping her gaze in front of her. She didn't want to peek back with peripheral vision and ruin Lizzy's focus -- or make Allesandra miss any spots while brushing the hair out. When she felt the braid beginning to be formed, it only gave her further incentive to remain still. She definitely didn't want to ruin that. She'd never had one done on her, but she had seen some on humans before. And it looked incredibly complex and complicated.

And once again, Lillithria felt herself back to that same tormented state of mind. She wasn't sure whether to follow the more obedient side or stand and make a run for it. The woman behind her scared and simultaneously intrigued her; and not just because of her heritage or the fact she had been her first. At least that would be what the now broken and taken away hymen all but spelled out. There was an odd aura of sorts about her; not quite literally but in a figurative way. And no matter what angle the huntress tried to study it at, all she could do was find herself remaining near her captor, her Mistress, her ... mate?

Was that last word even applicable? It was a good possibility. 'Pet' had already been something even Allesandra used to describe her. Why should 'mate' be too different? For some vampires, it didn't have to be as devoted and sincere as humes defined it as. In fact, more often than not, it wasn't. But Allesandra had already begun to prove that compared to most others, she was not the typical vampiress. She was anything but this.

If Lilli was confused, Allesandra didn't pick up on it, or she chose to ignore it. She continued to braid her hair until it was done, and sat back to admire the effect. "That's nice, don't you think Liz?"

Lizzy paused in her work, and glanced over, "Yes, very nice. You're quite pretty dear."

A few minutes later, they had Lilli upright and trying the dress on, while Lizzy made a few last adjustments. The sleeves were wrist length, made of a sheer lace, while the dress itself was more tea length, stopping at mid thigh. The top was low cut, but not enough to be called daring, and the velvet felt like silk against the skin. A few adjustments by hand, and it was done.

"We should go early - we need to stop and get you some shoes," Allesandra said, having slipped hers on while Lizzy was finishing up. She considered the dress for some time, her eyes tracing the lines of Lilli's body beneath the black velvet and practically purred when she spoke, "You look beautiful, pet. I have some sandals by the door you can wear until we can get you some shoes."

They left Lizzy cleaning up after herself, while Allesandra walked Lilli down to the street, and flagged them down a cab.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

Confused was a huge understatement by now. All the same, Lillithria continued to remain still during the braid. Her body was practically moving on it's own by the time she had to get back up to wear the dress. Once all the additions and adjustments were done, she glanced down at herself. Was the lack of a bra and panties done intentionally? It made her cheeks go a bit more crimson. It was indeed daring. Hopefully these friends, guests, whomever they may be would behave themselves. Some could care less if she was supposed to be Allesandra's 'pet' or not, she fairly guessed. And especially - more from previous experience and things of the like - any men that would note her like this. It was nerve-wracking and in some very twisted part of her mind .... a bit .... exciting?

Maybe because she'd been recently introduced to intimate activities? Regardless, there was a very small but still existing part of her mind which actually hoped to have such attention from others. It only baffled her more. She'd never have thought like this normally. She wanted to groan aloud but fought the urge. In the end, she merely gave a smile and polite bow of her head. "Thank you, Lizzy. Um .... Allesandra? What exactly is this party for, if I may ask?"

Even if it was a simple reason, such as to merely celebrate, all still did have a motive. And out of curiosity, she wanted to know what to maybe expect or not. As they walked out of the front door, Lillithria made sure to grasp the sandals with her feet and deftly slip them on. Her heart raced slightly as she walked out into the public view. Every now and again, she let her eyes gaze around, trying to gauge and guess the reactions from those around them. Gods what was wrong with her? She hardly knew herself much at this point.

Allesandra held the door to the cab for Lilli, and then slid in after her, crossing her legs and giving the driver an address. Once they were in traffic she turned to look at Lilli, speaking in a lower tone. "It's a party - really it's a chance for us to get together and show off. Introduce any new children, form alliances, backstab our freinds - that kind of thing." She paused a moment, and then added, "When you say it like that, it doesn't sound very nice, does it?"

She shrugged her pale shoulders, glancing out at the slowly descending sun. The further down it went, the more she felt like herself. She was going to pay for not sleeping today, but such was the price of breaking in a new pet. "I'll get some brownie points with the politicos for bringing a hunter under control, and it will make people take me more seriously."

She frowned a little, a tiny petulant pout forming on her lips. Obviously her lack of power in the local vampire political landscape was a sore point for her, probably because of her age. "It's because I try and go out and live life instead of sitting around stuffed up trying to run things without getting caught with my hand in the cookie jar like them."

She sniffed, and looked sideways at Lilli, "No one will touch you while you're there with me, so don't worry about it." She laid a hand possessively on Lilli's thigh. "You're mine now, after all."

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

No, no it didn't overly sound the best if that was it. How had these never made Allesandra bored to death in the past? This one, she saw a better reason for her to go there; herself. How many vampires could boast of having caught and owned a hunter? Few, if any. So it would get attention brought to her, no doubt the good and paranoid - bad - kinds. Still, she would keep her thoughts to herself. Her head almost rested against the back of the seat behind her but stopped, not wanting to ruin the braid. So instead, she remained sitting up straight.

Finally, her head shook no gently. "Not overly. I've heard of things being hosted just ... for fun and introductions, more or less. It's not that bad." A bit astounding it was truly that simple ... but nothing more. Besides, Lillithria had ways to pass the time. Even if there was no music device upon her, her memory was good enough that she could play any song she'd heard in her mind. She literally made herself, ergo, an MP3 player of sorts. And as long as it was something she recalled, every single word, lyric and chorus came to her perfectly. So she had ways to forget that she was going to be shown off like some exotic animal or block out any people who may catch her own attention in the negative ways.

It may have been due to her heritage, but she always did usually have a damn good sixth sense on whether to go close to a person or not, whether to speak to someone or not, things of the like. And more often than not, they were correct.

Her thoughts were temporarily broken, though, when she felt the contact on her thigh. Her head shook no again, a nervous though otherwise genuine smile managing to form. "I'm not concerned." She replied softly --- which was mostly true. Neither vampires or humans, from Lillithria's own experiences, seemed to be at all good with keeping their hands off things that weren't theirs; especially other individuals. And despite her odd inner desires, the huntress still knew from common enough sense it'd be close to impossible for either race to get away with it.

A vampire could no doubt sense another of their own kin or a hume with an equal amount of ease and simultaneously slit their throats with similar dexterity and grace. But to some degree, she believed it to be a bit easier that other vampires would be noted. Likely because they had more ... familiar scents than humans and with them being more of a concern than trying to fend oneself from a human, it seemed like a lose-lose to Lillithria.

Which ... seemed to annoy and relieve her at the same time. The logical part of her was still clearly trying to fight for control of her mindset. But the new sleazy and still very subservient side was winning still. For now.

Allesandra gave the thigh under her hand a squeeze, and then thought to ask, "Is there anyone who's going to come looking for you? It's troublesome when family shows up - the blood and violence tends to put people off for some reason. I know your parents are...out of the picture, but anyone else I should know about?"

She looked at Lilli, and thought she should have the Record Keeper do a run on her, just to make sure no surprises were going to turn up. She had to admit, the modern era did have its perks, like near instant access to information from all over the world - for the right price. It all came down to money. Money was the new (to her way of thinking) influence. It was the key to power. And Allesandra, despite living quite comfortably, was not rolling in it, to borrow an expression. Perhaps it was time to settle down some and start planning ahead.

But first - shoes!

The cab had stopped, and Allesandra got out, tugging Lilli along with her, and they crossed the street into one of the cute little boutique stores that displayed their goods on little glass shelves without prices, and looked offended if you asked how much something cost. Allesandra bought nearly all of her shoes here.

She sat Lilli down, had a quick conversation with the saleswoman, who measured Lilli's feet, and vanished into the back. Moments later she was back with several pairs of cute little kitten heeled pumps. "We need some color to offset all that black, don't you think dear - and we'll never get boots on over those cuffs."

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

Lillithria's head shook no. "Not unless I've had an unknown admirer, stalker, or something of the like who has watched me from afar." She replied, joking and yet very serious all the same. There had been a few humes in the past who had tried so damn hard to make odd advances. It'd never really repeated ever before -- but that didn't mean anything necessarily. Then again, she always kept a slightly paranoid side to her. It helped ensure the huntress portion of her didn't die, per se, and she could continue to do what she was best at.

After all, if she had good feelings about everyone, she would never make progress now would she?

As her feet got measured, Lillithira made sure to stay still. A small nod of agreement was given as she was hinted that she wouldn't be clad only in black. "Yes. Maybe ... white or red?" She suggested, knowing either of the two colors tended to go well with the normally dreary-symbolizing color. When the hint that the cuffs wouldn't be even concealed caught her ears, it made Lillithria wonder .... was she really going to be forced to wear those 24/7? She'd been shown they'd remain in public and showers .... so probably, it would seem.

Allesandra nodded. "The red I think. It's more bold." If there was one thing Allesandra was not, it was shy and reserved. They spent a good half hour trying on a variety of shoes, in various shades of red, they finally opted for a pair of plain pumps with a three-inch heel in a bright lipstick red. The sandals went into the box, and the clerk said they would take care of delivering them to the apartment.

Stepping back to admire the effect, Allesandra had to admit that they made the young huntress look good enough to eat - again. But they had other things to do, and it wouldn't do to be late. Taking Lilli by the hand, she led her from the shop. It was another cab ride to where they were going, this time a longer one, along Hyde Park and into Kensington, and once the cab stopped, Allesandra stepped out, smoothing the leather skirt of her dress over her thighs, and then helped Lilli out.

The building was an impressive, older building with a Renaissance Revival style. Allesandra led the way up the front steps, and knocked on the door, glancing over at Lilli to insure she was ready for what lay beyond.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b242/virgo2005/DnD RPC Pics/Elf_Ranger_by_sypri.jpg

The repeated process of getting up and walking a few feet, then back to ensure she could handle each pair of shoes began to tire Lillithria though she refused to let it show. Thankfully, they finally found a pair. While she didn't have any qualms with wanting to look good, Lillithria usually knew what she wanted to wear in almost no time. Furthermore, she almost never went to fancy events so there was often no real need to get heels, dresses, or anything to such effects. If it weren't for the fact they were going to a party where such a dress code were needed, she'd likely be in jeans and a nice blouse, maybe a skirt in the stead of the denims. But it never would have been quite this fancy, that much she knew.

She gave the clerk lady a bow of her head before carefully walking out to the cab again. The practice session with walking in the shoes had been brief, but luckily the hybrid was a fast learner. And in almost no time, she was walking smoothly in the heels, as if she'd worn such types of shoes her whole life. During the whole ride, she glanced out her window -- not to seem as if she were avoiding Allesandra but getting a better view of London. She'd never been to certain areas and the ones they passed by were such examples. She usually stayed closeby to what used to be her residing place of sorts; an abandoned warehouse to hide away in. It was odd but she never really had issues finding prey to hunt nearby the location, the furthest having been maybe half an hour away at most.

Noting Allesandra's procedures regarding her skirt, she followed suit with her dress. Her heart raced but she managed to give Allesandra a light nod. "I ... I'm pretty sure I am, yes." She replied softly. In truth, she had no honest to gods idea. She wanted to believe the answer was yes but despite this meaning to be just a simple party, there were so many unknown factors that could be present at this party. And that was what made her the most anxious .... knowing literally any and everything could happen from an attempt at kidnapping to someone falling for her despite being owned.

Allesandra nodded at the reply and knocked on the door, plastering a false smile on her face. She detested these little parties, but they were the sort of invitation you didn't refuse without a very good reason. Like being permanently dead.

Vampires didn't normally concern themselves with such trivialities, however. It wasn't that they were immortal - they could, and did, die on a regular basis. The huntress next to her was living proof of that. They were susceptible to any number of things: silver (though it wouldn't kill them, it did slow them down considerably), wooden stakes through the heart (though this was not as easy to accomplish as it sounded), removing the head, consuming the body in fire. Even doing sufficient physical damage to the body itself would kill a vampire by rendering the body unable to repair itself before the available blood supply ran out. A hand grenade, for example, could, in theory kill a vampire, assuming the vampire in question did not catch it out of the air and throw it back at you.

Among the modern weapons that vampires feared the most were any weapon that incorporated an incendiary component. Flamethrowers killed vampires with surprising ease, as did white phosphorous based weapons. And, as with nearly everything else, a nuclear weapon detonated in close proximity would wipe a vampire out just as easily as any human. So it wasn't as if vampires couldn't die. It was just relatively hard to kill one and make it stick. If enough blood remained in the body to fuel an adequate regeneration of the brain and body, the vampire would survive.

A lot of the myths about how to kill them were, however, just that - myths. Many of them were started by the vampires themselves to give them an edge over the humans hunting them. The wafers of Christ were slightly lemon flavored, and holy water was wet. That was about as far as their effects went. The crucifix was laughable, and any serious hunter knew better. Running water as only an impediment if one cared about the condition of one's shoes, and vampires could walk into a building without being invited, though it was still considered rude by most people.

Sunlight was problematic. It didn't kill them, but it was a fact that it did react with their bodies in a way that made them sluggish and unable to use their abilities to their maximum potential. Which was why vampires tended to sleep during the day. Prolonged exposure could cause physical damage, but it was easy enough to heal. Allesandra had never, in all her life, heard of any vampire dying from exposure to sunlight, though in theory continuous long term exposure without a way to feed could do so.

Still, there were worse fates than death for a vampire. Vampires could still feel pain, and being tortured for a century or two by the local Prince was considered a fitting punishment for a minor insult. And thus, Allesadra accepted the invitations, even if she'd rather be partying somewhere else.

The door was opened by an emaciated looking man in a stereotypical butler suit. Allesandra thought he looked a lot like Lurch from the Adamm's Family. She had to hide a smirk, as she presented her invitation.

"Hello Robert. As requested, I present myself. This is Lilli, my plus one."
The man examined the invitation as if it might be a fake, before he gestured both women into the house. "Welcome Allesandra. Everyone is on the back patio, if you'd care to go through." He gave Lilli a thorough looking over, but apparently couldn't think of anything else to say.

Allesandra inclined her head politely, and led Lilli inside. The house was decorated in much the same way as Allesadra's apartment, antique eclectic. There were various styles of furniture, most of them predating the current monarch, and several of them looking like they might predate the industrial revolution by a century or two. The art was equally as old, though there were some modern pieces mixed in, including one that looked like it had been made from mashed up pieces of cars and trucks.

The back patio was a sea of flagstone set in concrete with several dozen people mingling around, holding glasses of wine or champagne, while serving staff in black pants and white shirts moved through them offering hors d'oeuvres from silver platters. Allesandra snagged a glass of wine from a passing waiter, and indicated that Lilli should help herself.

Moments later a man joined them, so quickly and so silently, that he might have simply popped out of thin air. He was a impressive man, to say the least, all dark and brooding, with black hair tied back in a long pony tail and equally dark eyes that seemed to carry a weight in them. He had a handsome face, with features that would have put Adonis to shame, and his suit had the fine cut and lines of something tailored, probably in Italy.

"Allesandra, " he said, in a silky voice that none-the-less managed to raise the hairs on Lilli's neck, "You look as beautiful as ever. But I do wonder why you decided to bring a hunter to our little soiree." His dark eyes cut over to Lilli even as he took Allesandra's hand and brought it to his lips. "Unless you meant her as a gift? That would be very thoughtful. We could have her as dessert."

The first thing to take Lillithria aback was the sight of the destination. She probably should have expected it to look as elegant as it did but probably with all she'd been put through in the recent ... 36? 48? Some amount of hours she'd lost track of but by now, she hadn't been able to properly think ahead like usual. So mentally - and certainly not physically - had Lillithria been able to prepare herself for anything really. Thus the sights, sounds, and all her senses were finding all to be more amazing than usual thus far. The next thing to immediately catch her eyes was the massive butler. Was he .... even human? Few were naturally that tall but she knew it could be possible all the same.

Making her way through the crowds with Allesandra, a graceful hand almost instantly took one of the glasses upon noting her Mistress's gaze. She'd suddenly began to feel dizzy and after a sip, her stomach clenched. Lillithria inwardly frowned and cursed at herself, now wishing she had indeed ordered food whilst she'd been asleep. Even if it wasn't much, she took and nibbled upon one of the hors d'oeuvres as well. It wasn't much, but it was much better than nothing and Lillithria wouldn't complain.

"Allesandra ... "

Just the simple addressing of her new Mistress's name .. why was it having this sort of effect on her? Was this a warning? To be weary of him? Was it someone like him she'd been fretting about, one who didn't give a damn if they touched something that wasn't theirs because they wanted it too badly? Her heart raced in her chest as she found herself looking into the dark eyes. His last words and suggestions did much more to calm her nerves and it only seemed to strengthen the inner commands racing through her mind at that very moment.

Run! Move away from him! But dear gods, don't just fucking stand there like an idiot!

It wasn't that she doubted Allesandra or that she'd betray her; well not the main worry anyways. Worse than that was if his determination would end up being stronger ... and he'd find some way to end up keeping her before this party was over. Things along those lines .... that was what genuinely scared her the most.

If nothing else, Lillithria was grateful vampires couldn't read minds. She ... didn't even want to think on that image.

Though she wanted to shake her head no at his thoughts, she'd let Allesandra confirm to him he was wrong; she hoped so at least. All she did for now was bow her head politely, taking another sip of the wine.

Allesandra glanced sideways at Lilli and placed a protective, and possessive hand on her arm, fixing the man with an impenetrable smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Henri," she said, with a slight emphasis on the French in the name, "mon ami, you know it's rude to poach. This one is mine. If you want a pet, go catch one yourself." She sniffed a little derisively, but added in a milder tone, "You're looking well. I heard you'd been killed a year or so ago."

He gave her a little bow, slightly mocking, but his eyes lingered on Lilli a moment or two longer than was probably polite, and there was a definite sense of hunger in them. It didn't appear to be a sexual sort of appetite either; there was little doubt in his stance or in his attention that, given the chance, he'd probably kill the woman without a thought or regret.

"Rumors of my demise, et cetera. I was able to escape the destruction of my château with nothing more than a blow to my ego."

"I'm surprised you survived then," Allesandra quipped, before adding, "Lillithria, this is His Grace Alexandre Édouard de France, Duc d'Orleans, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, and of course, His Majesty, Henry the Third, King of France for a few years. Remind me what it is you do now, Henri?"

He buffed his nails on the front of his tuxedo jacket for a moment, before responding, "I'm a banker - I've always found the Swiss habit of not asking questions to be rather endearing, all things considered. What about you, mon cher? Still grappling your way through the seedier side of mortal life?"

Allesandra's eyes narrowed, but she didn't say answer the question directly. "Have you seen our Hostess yet this evening?"

Henri shrugged slightly, "You know Angelique. She'll make her entrance when she arrives."

Allesandra sighed a little, "Yes, even if it's tomorrow or not at all."

The initial sniping apparently out of the way, the two of them began discussing other guests. both those who were apparently present and those that were either not there or were missing entirely.

"Oh, there's Mathis," Allesandra said, nodding her chin in the direction of the doors to the house. Flanked by the opened glass doors and the lights from inside the house was a taller man, perhaps six and a half feet, with a wild mane of hair. He had the look of a body guard around him, and his eyes seemed to take in all the guests at once as he moved to one side.

"Angelique's lapdog. She won't be far behind. We should go say bonjour I suppose," Henri said with a resigned kind of sigh.

That stare upon her and the intent, desire even, to kill her. It was enough to make poor Lillithria snap. She wanted out ... now. In this location, the last thing she was at this moment was a huntress. If anything, she was now the hunted. And it terrified the hell out of her. Her head began to quickly spin and she had to blink a few times just to be able to see straight again. The names and titles were heard though barely. Her focus had gone from the male before her to her instincts and will to live, damnit! It now had become clear exactly why all of the other vampires in her past had tried to beg for mercy, to avoid their undeaths. Being sought out just because of one's race, knowing Death would be inevitable in the end, really was so unfair. She hadn't done anything directly to anyone here ... but that wouldn't matter.

She wanted to cry though the wine was no doubt playing a part in that urge. But she didn't want to in front of all of these people either. Lillithria glanced around. Air ... she needed to be alone. Some sort of balcony perhaps, that would be her best bet. But none were immediately coming to view with her eyes which said there was none or - the more likely option - she was panicking too much to properly see all before her. A shudder trailed down her spine as she gave a very late and out of place bow to all those before her.

By now, poor Lillithria would give anything to be able to ask Allesandra to head back. But it was clear she wouldn't allow it. With the hopes that the night would somehow go faster, she gave another nod at the suggestion of saying hi to the bodyguard. If she hadn't known better, someone had deftly cut her vocal chords. The ability to speak seemed to be, for now, gone. Then again, even if she could talk, she didn't know if she wanted to speak aloud in all honesty. The others around her didn't feel or seem like they would let anything overly friendly leave their lips. Why should she make an attempt? Especially towards those who would - possibly literally - jump at any opportunity to grab at her and kill her? Or something else?
