The Manor (DudeMeister&SHARPii)

She could happily spend a lot of time just kissing him. He made her melt. He made her feel wanted. He made her feel appreciated. And at the same time, she was ever more on edge than ever. She didn't want to get comfortable. He got what he wanted from her now. It wouldn't be long.

"Okay." She bit her lower lip and watched him, her eyes gazing over him in a bit of a rapt awe. He was too beautiful. Far too beautiful. So handsome. The perfect Adonis. It was all too good to be true. Slowly, Harper sat up after he left her room and she sighed deeply.
When he came back, she at least now had her undergarments on and had the duvet over her, waist down. She sat up and looked at him, tilting her head. "Aren't you going to eat?" She asked, bringing her knees up to her chest, resting the side of her head on it, looking at him. "I hope I didn't put you through too much trouble in making this." It smelled delicious. Really delicious. And she was starving. But if he wasn't going to eat...well then she made him do something he didn't want to do.

Harper sighed. She sucked so bad at this. She didn't know how to do this and she was way out of her mind, way out of her league.

As he sat up beside her he looked at her, noticing something was bothering her.

"Don't worry...it was my pleasure. I'll make something for myself soon, I just wanted to hand that to you" he said, curling into her.

"So...I just wanted to make some things clear" he said, trying to resolve any awkwardness she was feeling

"I like you a lot...I want to be with you, I want to make this work. I want to make you happy...but in order to do that and keep you safe I have to be careful" he said to her

Harper looked at him and she nodded her head slowly. Her past experiences tended to bother her. Just because they changed her a lot of who she was. Granted, Harper has always been a shy and very quiet girl but at least she used to have confidence. And then things took a bad tumble before she finished college. It was all still relatively new. And then she met Hawthorne, the epitome of all things amazing and perfect, despite his work. He was kind to her. He found her attractive and he was willing to do so much for her, just like she wanted to do for him. It took two to tango after all.

"I like you a lot too Hawthorne." She said softly, her hand moving over his and lacing her fingers with his. She brought it up on top of her knees and kissed the back of his hand before resting her cheek on it, nodding her head. "So how do we do this?" She asked. "How do we do this so neither of us gets hurt?"

"Well...we have to be careful. You can't ever show up to the Manor again, and you can't call me, text me, send emails, or even write to me because we don't know who might be tracking correspondence...it could be any mob boss bribing someone to wire tap, or it could even be Federal Agents. We also have to be careful out when we are out in public" he said to her

"I'll make sure to keep you protected, and I promise I'll be with you whenever I can" he added, kissing her cheek

For some reason, her heart dropped into her stomach. She knew it had to be this way because of the dangerous dealings he was involved in with the Manor but the reality of it all still bothered her. She found a great guy to get to know and learn how to be with and she couldn't even do half of the things she wanted to. Show up unexpectedly and maybe bring him lunch. Text him messages just because she might be bored during one the kids' lunch time to just say hi or even send an email or two just for the heck of it. She couldn't contact him anywhere or anyhow. They'd probably never be able to go in public often because it'd just be safer to stay in. And how long would it have to be like this?

Biting her lower lip, she nodded her head slowly. Suddenly, she didn't feel so hungry anymore.
"I think I'll go take a shower. You should probably go. Wouldn't want anyone to know you're here." She got out of bed and didn't bother with covering herself. She went straight to the bathroom and shut the door. It was time for a shower. And it was her escape to just react so he didn't see it himself.

It just...sucked.

He sighed. He knew that she wouldn't like what he said, but it was the truth. This was very dangerous, and he had to be careful. What did he get himself into? Getting up he got dressed and made the bed for her. Seeing a piece of paper her smiled and folded it into a origami crane. He left it by her plate of pancakes and soon left.

He was downstairs in a few minutes and in his care, plugging the key into the ignition and soon driving towards the manor.

After her shower, she came out with a towel wrapped around her body and found him gone. She got sad for a moment and then saw the origami crane by her breakfast. It made her smile and she sighed softly. Okay, so perhaps there were worse things. But Hawthorne meant what he said. That at least made this easier for her, even if she had no idea when she'd see him again. That part bothered her but at least there was the chance that she might see him again. She hoped. She didn't just have sex with anyone.

Placing the paper crane down, she dried her body and then got dressed. She put on a dark violet lace bra with matching lace panties, they both having a black bow on them. She pulled on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and then a long sleeved v-neck that was red in color. Drying her hair, she tied it up and then went out of her room, taking her breakfast with her. She wondered where Stephanie was.

After her breakfast, which was divine, she picked up her phone and called Stephanie. No answer.
She tried again a couple of more times and on the third try, the call finally answered.
"Stephanie can't come to the phone right now." She could hear his grin before he chuckled. "Is this Harper?" He drawled.
She swallowed thickly. "W-Who is this?"
"I have a message from Stephanie."
"What is it?"
"Did she tell you who she had sex with before he came to your place?"
Her heart fell into her stomach and she breathed faster through her nose. "You're lying."
"Stephanie never lies."
No, Stephanie never did lie. "What do you want? You just need to let her go."
"Oh no I don't. She came to me. Begged me to fuck her, just the way a good whore does." Harper cringed.
"But you see..." he chuckled again. "She's not who I want." And then the line went dead.

Hawthorne drove for about half an hour before reaching the Manor. After parking his car in the garage he entered through the main door and walked through the foyer. Something was not right. Nobody was around, and it was too quite. Walking tentatively towards the bar, he soon felt a sharp pain at the top of his head that was accompanied by a dull thud. Some thug ambushed him with a nightstick.

Shaken up by the blow to the head he took, he fell down to one knee whilst another thug grabbed him by the collar and attempted to drag him up. Gaining his wits, Hawthorne through a savage punch into the man's junk, causing him to double over. He than kneed him in the face and shoved him towards the other man. He soon felt a slicing pain around his neck, and realized that bother man was strangling him with a garrote. He tried his best to stick his fingers into the piano wire that was strangling him in an attempt to breath, but it was of little use. Gritting his teeth he butted the man in the nose with the back of his head. Hey...maybe those Krav Maga classes were worth it. He had little time to celebrate, cause when the two thugs jumped him and threw him to the ground. He soon felt kicks, stomps, and club blows allover his face and body. He felt a finger break, a rib crack, and the point of a toe stick into an organ he'd rather not think about...but he didn't want to go down like this.

Shuffling away he did his best to get to a crouch and tackled the man with the club, and bit his fingers to free it from his grip. He than swung at the two men, sending breaking one man's jaw, and repetitively beating the last one standing over and over again. Not even the arm brought up to cover himself did him any good. Hawthorne's club blow seemed to power through his arm and conked him REALLY hard on the head. He wasn't Jason Bourne...but he was tougher than the average lawyer turned 'manager'. But, there was no celebration...there was no time to find out who the fuck these guys were. That was because he heard the hammer of a revolver cock back.

"Drop the club and put your hands behind your head" came a familiar voice

Hawthorne's eyes went wide. Oh please...not this motherfucker

(do you want to play this guy or should I?)

“It’d be far too easy to simply just shoot you Mr. Tisch.” He grinned, pressing the barrel of the gun into his head further. “Start walking. Let’s sit. Let’s chat. It’s been a while.” He steered Hawthorne towards the abandoned bar and pushed him to sit down in the bar stool. He sat himself down in the one beside him but kept his AR-15 in line of sight so that Hawthorne knew he wasn’t getting soft.

Pulling his black beanie off his red hair, he ran a hand through it to tousle it and he grinned at him, tilting his head, green eyes bearing into his. “Remember me old friend?” Sylvester asked. His name was Sylvester De’Ambrosio, an old bud of Hawthorne’s until they went their separate ways after a significant loss in Sylvester’s life. He blamed Hawthorne and swore to get his revenge. This was part of it.

For the better amount of his time since he lost everything, he built himself up as one of the major crime bosses in all of the gangster world and city. He prided himself in being Hawthorne’s number one enemy and prepared to take anything and everything away from him to make sure he suffered. Just as much as he himself suffered.

Eyeing his former friend with venom in his eyes he backed into the stool and took a seat, slowly getting a towel to bind his hand. He never understood why Sylvester hated him so much, but he knew that if he didn't have his AR-15 pointed at him, he would give him the beating of his life. In there college days he never really was much of a fighter. Kept on getting picked on by the jocks.

"What the fuck do you want Sly?" he asked after tying a knot in the bar towel that bandaged his hand

"What the fuck is this all about. You never had the balls to come here before. Don't you know who this place belongs to?" he asked

He smirked and shrugged. “What do you think Tisch?” He asked. His grip on his gun was strong and confident, not a single shaky bone. He certainly wasn’t the same Sylvester from their school days. No, after law school, his entire life changed. He was no longer a lawyer, he was made a mockery of and now he had spent the past ten years at least building his life up as one of the most dangerous men. Hell, he didn’t even look the same. He used to look and be scrawny. He never was a good lawyer. But he was a better bad guy.

Sylvester snorted and shrugged. “Yeah, the finally dropped about ten years ago. The day you ruined my life. I swore then to make your life hell. I’m here to make good on my word.” He stood up and turned to the side, pressing both hands onto the bar and then looked at him from the side. “Well I can either assume you, or you answer to someone higher than you.” He grinned. “In which case I have a proposition for you.”

When Sylvester told him about the day he ruined his life, for the life of him Hawthorne didn't know what he was talking about. They were friends, they graduated, and he simply was a better lawyer than him. He didn't do anything to personally take him down.

"What the fuck are you talking about, I didn't ruin your life. I don't remember doing anything wrong to you?" he asked

"It's lucky you have a gun in your hand or I'd brutally fuck you up. Hell the mafioso bastards that I work for would be proud of my work after I show them your bashed through skull" he added

"And what do you mean 'proposal'?" he asked

"Of course you don't. Because it was your actions that had a direct impact on my life, on my wife...on my child." He was still obviously disturbed by all of this. It wasn't because he lost his bar license or anything like that. No, it was because a case Hawthorne had that he was second chair for...
Sylvester shook his head and he looked to him. He smirked drew his hand back and connected the butt of his AR-15 against Hawthorne's cheek. "All talk and no action Tisch." He snorted and sat back down. He took out his phone, keeping his gun pointed in Hawthorne's direction as he dialed a number. He put the phone to his ear and grinned. "Go. Now. It's on." He hung up and placed his phone on the bar top.

Standing, he started to pace. "I want you to tell me about the dealings of the Manor and more about your boss. Who do you work for? Tell me all Hawthorne." He moved to him, grabbed him by his hair and tilted his head back, shoving the barrel of the gun under his chin. "And here's a little incentive." His eyebrows danced as he even said it, as if the very idea of it in his mind brought him pleasure. "Tell me all or I will have my men shoot your little girlfriend. They're on their way over there." He smirked before leaning in. "They'll do to her what they did to your number one whore. Break her and then kill her."

And true to his word, a van parked outside of Harper's apartment building. They were able to get access to her apartment building through a series of encryptions before they went up to her floor. Knocking on the door, Harper who was dressed in her sleep clothes came to the door. She had just finished her breakfast and was a bit spooked after that phone call. But she opened the door. They forced their way in, hit her, attacked her--didn't touch her like that--and then all that needed to stop her struggle was when one guy pulled a gun out aimed between her eyes. Now they were just waiting for the call.

Hawthorne grunted in pain when the but of his gun hit his face. He wasn't to hurt by it, but he was certainly taking his lumps today. His eyes went wide in shock. Stephanie...dead? Why would she go to him? He could barely process this information before he told him about his men going to Harper's place to kill her he feared for her life. This bastard was actually going to do it. Although in shock and agony he gave Sly a venomous look.

"Fine, I'll tell you all you need to know...but if you touch or threaten Harper again I'll fucking kill you myself" he threatened

"The Manor is a high class brothel that pretty much belongs to Anthony Mario. He is in charge of all the drug trafficking and money laundering in this town. He bribes judges, officials, the higher brass in the police department to turn the other way, and this place often caters to them, as well as wealthy businessmen. Sometimes companies pay him to find exchange trade secrets. This place is the 'little extra' that he provides for them, and is yet another way to take in more revenue" he explained.

"Now, let her go" he said

Sylvester grinned and shrugged. “Yeah well, I didn’t kill you myself yet when Clarise and Bethany were killed, now did I?” He spoke it with such a malice to his tone that he was about to pull the trigger to finally get the satisfaction he desired. It was because of him and his asshole of a lawyer self that his wife and baby girl were dead. They were his life. Now he had no life but to bring Hawthorne Tisch down and everything else that he loved. His job, his girl, his many girls. He’d kill them all.

He didn’t let up on his grip. He kept the barrel of the gun pressed to his throat and kept his head tugged back. When he told him all he wanted to know, he smirked and released his head wit ha bit of force and backed away. “You didn’t think it’d be that easy did you?” He smirked. “Get up.” With the gun pointed to him, he nodded to him. “Take me to your office. We’re going to do some little transfers and then you will bring your boss in. I’d very much like to meet him.”

And with an extra incentive, he wanted to remind him. Grabbing his phone, he dialed the number but didn’t press the call button. “If not, if you do not comply to any of this, I just need to send the call. They don’t need to even answer. And she’s dead.”

He didn't know anything about Clarise and Bethany being dead. He looked at him with his eyes wide in shock

"Wait...your wife and daughter are dead? How?" he asked, before being provided the 'incentive'

"Fine, I'll take you to the safe" he said getting up with his hands up

"But just so you know, my boss won't listen to you. He'll just pull up here with all his thugs and mow the place down with gunfire. He doesn't really believe in negotiating with his competitors" he added

He told him everything he needed to know, but Hawthorne still had an ace up his sleeve. He knew someone who could keep Harper safe after this, giving him that peace of mind while he went about destroying this asshole.

Sylvester pushed him towards the exit of the bar hall and kept the gun pressed to his back. He grit his teeth when he inquired about his wife and child. “Yes.” He bit out. “They were murdered by that lunatic client’s influence. Because he was sent to jail for life and his thugs were dispatched and murdered my wife and child.” It was clear by how he practically bit it all out, his own voice wavering, that it had broken him. He had basically gone mad with revenge.

He made the transfers that he wanted and when it was all done, he looked at Hawthorne and grabbed him by his shirt, “You tell your boss that if he wasn’t such a coward, I’d end him. Now in order for your pretty little girlfriend to stay alive, you will arrange a meeting with your boss. Tell him you want to meet him, tell him where and what time. I’ll tell you where and what time. If you let it slip that it’s me he is really meeting, your girlfriend dies, capiche?” He pushed him back into the chair. “Make the call. Tell him to meet me in four hours at the cross section of Fifth and Montgomery.”

Hawthorne remembered the case. The suspect was the leader of the Ukrainian mob. His firm was the one that handled the case. Hawthorne was a prosecutor. He did his job well, and the bastard was put behind bars. He however did not hear about the deaths of Sly's wife and daughter.

"Sly, I'm so sorry" he said

"I didn't know. I was just doing my job." he added

"Please, don't take it out on her" he begged

"Of course you didn't know." He scoffed, pacing back and forth now. His madness was getting the best of him. Imagine coming home one night to find the woman of your dreams and precious baby girl murdered so badly that he couldn't even recognize them? He lost his life that day too. The Ukrainian bastard was in jail for life to begin with. He was apart of death row six months after he had Sylvester's wife and child murdered. He was dead now. But that left one person left. The one who made this all happen. Hawthorne.
"Why would you care?" he asked, moving to him and pressing the barrel into his forehead. "I should just call them. So that way you can feel the pain anyways. Because only then will I be satisfied. If you felt the pain I felt."

Understanding that his former friend had gone insane, he sighed in regret. He couldn't hate him now...but he couldn't let him kill him or Harper. She was too precious to him. Feeling the cold barrel of his gun he backed away slowly and reached towards the phone. What Sly did not understand was that his boss didn't give a shit on Hawthorne: he wouldn't show up just because he called. But he had to distract Sly...

Picking up the phone he dialed a random number. Thankfully it wasn't on speaker phone, so Sly couldn't hear it. A disgruntled middle aged man picked up the phone

"Hello?" came the voice

"Anthony...there is something important that i need to discuss with you. Meet me at the cross section of Fifth and Montgomery" Hawthorne said, praying that this will work

"Wait, who is this?" asked the man, not knowing who it was

"Ok, I'll see you there" Hawthorne said calmly, before hanging up the phone.

"Ok Sly...it's done. Let her go. She is innocent, she didn't do anything to you" he added

Sylvester was fuming. His jaw pressed into a thin law and he watched him with narrowed eyes as he finally made the call. So Anthony was his name, eh? Well then he'd have a good fight with the bastard. When it all done, he took his gun back and he nodded. "I think I'll keep her there with my men." He smirked. "So that way if this ended up being a con, well then you can still pay for your stupidity." And with that, he left. He got his money and now he'd kill Anthony and assume complete and total ownership of all the crime in the city, as well as his shares in the Manor. It would be his.

So....he bought it. But there was little time. He had to save Harper. This would mean that he had to come up against a hit squad of cold hearted killers, or die trying. But he couldn't let Harper die. As soon as he found out that this was a ruse...he didn't even want to know what they'd do to her. Running down to the foyer her passed the bar and looked underneath the bar counter, he smirked and pulled out a sawed off shotgun that was underneath it. At least he had something. Taking a box full of shells, he took a trench coat from the hanger, and walked to his car.

He soon was speeding towards Harper's apartment building, parking a few blocks away. Entering the front door by using a credit card, he soon came up to her apartment, and knocked on the door, standing to the side of it just in case they opted to shoot first and ask questions later. Getting ready to do some dirty work, he breathed in slowly and quietly pumped his sawed off

The men were scattered about her apartment. She was sitting in a chair in the middle of the room, her arms tied behind her, her ankles tied to the chair and a gun was held at her temple the entire time. Her cheeks were stained with tears, her eyes watery and her lips still trembled. Each time the barrel of the gun pressed further into her temple, as if to warn her or simply to taunt her, her eyes closed and more tears fell down. She didn't want to die. This wasn't supposed to happen. She just found this amazing guy and he came with some serious baggage. But she never thought this would happen. Because of her involvement with him.

Sniffling, a gasp came from her when she heard the knock at the door. She looked up, her hair pushing out of her face and the guy who had the gun pressed to her temple, moved behind her, his hand wrapping around her throat. He nodded to another guy who took his Glock out, cocked and ready to blow as he opened the door. There was no one there. Holding up his gun, he looked back at them before stepping out, checking to the right and then the left. That was when he saw him.

That was when Hawthorne made his move. Moving quickly he soon disarmed the man, using the element of surprise. He than maneuvered behind him and kicked the back of his knee, lowering him. Kneeling behind him so that he wasn't in any line of fire he pointed his shotgun at the back of his head.

"Let her or I'll blow his fuckin head off!" he yelled, knowing that they were at a impasse

(I know you could say that they would just kill her anyway, but please do me a favor and not kill her off....pwease?)

[I wouldn't do that! She's my main girl. I'm not about to blow her brains out xD]

The guy grunted as he fell, unarmed and now used as bait. He held his hands up as he felt the shotgun pressed to the back of his head.
The guy keeping Harper at gunpoint just smirked, pressing the barrel harder against her head. "Let's count to three then. See if you can save her then." Which just showed he didn't care if if his men died. None of them cared. This was their job. It was suicide.

Harper's eyes closed tightly and she sniffled. "One." He spoke in a gruffly voice in her ear, but loud enough for Hawthorne to hear. He grinned and his lips brushed against her ear. She whimpered and flinched away from him but wasn't moving. Obviously. She was bound.
He lifted his head and chuckled, looking up at Hawthorne. The way he was standing, he wasn't in the way. So if he were to be shot...Harper would be okay.
"Two." Stroking her throat gently, his fingers reaffirmed their vice grip around it. "Open your eyes sweetheart. So your boyfriend can see the light fade when you die." The barrel was pressed back to her temple. "Three."
