Snuff Movie II - The Wheel of Snuff (WillowVX & littlerooster)

Alex didn't realize how hungry she was until Rod had suggested it. She didn't speak, not because she was afraid, but because she was sleepy. She looked at him and smiled. She nodded her head.

He filled the car with gas and they went into the truck stop, ordering them a couple of burgers they sat down.

Rod scanned the diner, a few truckers but not many women and the women that were there weren't interesting him.

Alex saw Rod scanning the people in the diner, checking out the woman. She wondered what he was thinking. He wasn't thinking of taking any more girls. He couldn't be. Alex decided she was being paranoid and she pushed the thought aside. Alex nibbled slowly on her burger and felt dazed.

"Thank you." She said quietly. Alex felt like a completely different person than who she was when she first walked into that mill.

He ate his meal quietly and then looked at Alexis, "So what now? I wonder what life has install for us" he said to her.

"I wonder what our next adventure will be" he pondered again.

"No more killing." Alex whispered. She took care to keep her voice low. But where would they go? How would they get money? Alex felt in way over her head.

She sat there and her stomach rumbled. She started taking bigger bites of her burger, realizing how hungry she really was. She wondered where Alicia went.

Rod thought of killing as some people thought of breathing, they just did it, it was important and yet meant nothing all at the same time. He looked at Alexis and nodded, he knew that she would not abide by that and he wanted to change as well.

He watched her woof down the burger, "Do you want another? We still have plenty of money" he asked her.

Alex shook her head, suddenly self conscious. She studied Rod for a long time. Staring at his face, his eyes. She was trying to make sense of everything that happened. She didn't know anything about him. Except that he saved her. Out of everybody, he saved her. She didn't know if she should be grateful or angry.

"I want to know about you." Alex said to him seriously. "I want to understand."

Rod looked at Alex as she asked him to talk about himself more, she was right she didn't know anything about him, well nothing all that nice anyway, and yet here she was a long way from home and sitting with the guy who killed her sister.

He took a deep breath.

"It is true we know little about each other. Heath and I grew up together, we connected from a young age, we were always misfits but back then we were nice guys, maybe too nice, we wanted girlfriends, not just for sex but to genuinely connect with someone, we craved that connection. I found it a little easier than Heath, he was always chubby and not great looking, I without wanting to sound egotistical am at least blessed with good genes" he paused a moment to let it sink in, he felt shy about referring to himself as good looking but it was the truth.

"Anyway, we tried the girl thing, never had much luck really, I had sex a couple of times and some dates, but being a misfit it never lasted long, I could never really connect and Heath despite his best efforts had even less luck. We hid in our minds really, we spoke about women and how to meet them. Heath came up with the Snuff film idea, it started off as a film about a snuff film, it was just to meet a girl and at least pretend to connect, I think Heath always wanted it to be more though, he wanted a real Snuff film, anyway, he placed the ad, the add that Alicia responded to, she was really beautiful and a good actress, we loved her attention so much. I loved her Alex" he paused again letting it sink in, there was no easy way of saying these things.

"So we started rehearsing doing the film, it got more and more extreme, I helped her escape on the day of the final filming, the day that we were going to film her death, the day she died anyway. We escaped and I was still under the influence of the drugs, she was talking so much and I could hear Heath in my mind. And then I crashed the car" he said pausing again, knowing that Alex knew what was coming next.

"And then well, you know then, she was the first person I ever killed" he said and looked down expecting Alex to walk out or call the cops or both.

Alex listened and was silent for a while after his story. She didn't know how she was supposed to feel. She knew that it was his fault her sister was dead, but she almost felt bad for him in such a way that she found it hard to blame him. No matter which way you look at it, Rod killed her sister. And no matter which way you look at it, he also tried to save her. The only way that Alex could keep her sanity and hope to continue with her life, is to start over.

"None of that matters." Alex said with a deep breath. She reached across the table and took his hand. "Clean slate. As of now." She held onto his hand tightly, she was shaking. Rod still frightened her. No matter how strong her feelings were for him, he was a demon.

"But there is just one thing..." She struggled with her next question. She was afraid to look at him. She lowered her voice down to a bare whisper. "How do I know that you won't kill me?"

Rod understood Alex's concerns, all of this was a crazy situation, he knew he would never hurt or kill Alexis but saying that would give her no comfort.

"Alex, I will never hurt you again, I know I have been quite evil, it is a part of me, I won't deny it, but I will not hurt YOU, I just won't. This will sound so stupid and naive, but you are my second chance" he said wanting to add humanity to the end of that but knowing he would never be human, not in the same way Alicia was human, he would always be a demon of one sort or another.
