"I think once we are out of that god forsaken town, we will be ok, their power isn't as far stretching as they like to believe, we get out and then we move somewhere far away and be done with it all, fuck the lot of them" Jenny said.

Robbie laughed and agreed. "Our families want us raped and or killed" he said to Annie, "We are better off without them" he added.

"Besides, outside the town if Clarke attacks us, we will kill him and it will be self defence" Jenny said outloud.

Annie didn't let her uneasiness show at the mention of killing Clarke. After everything that he's done to her, to all of them, she still didn't think she could stomach letting anything happen to him. Was she stupid? He tried to kill Robbie, almost did. He would kill her, if he had to. For some reason, she wasn't so sure of that as she thought it.

Annie nodded about the rest of it. "I don't have any family anyways." She whispered. Her bottom lip quivered slightly as she thought of her parents. She would do anything for the feeling of her mother brushing her hair. Or to see the goofy smile on her dads face. God, she missed them so much. They would never let this happen to her. Thinking of what they did to her mother made her angry. Tears welled in her eyes and she hardly even noticed that her hands were balled at her sides.

Jenny kept driving onwards, through the windy road, past the city limits of the town that caused them all so much grief. Once safely away, she pulled over.

"I think we better ditch the bus now, we can change, Robbie, do you think you can walk a little? It's only about an hour to the next town, we can take it slow" she asked.

"Yeah sure, and I agree we can't drive in populated areas in the ambulance, it will create too much attention" he said nodding.

Annie was worried. Could Robbie walk? She wasn't sure. She looked at him with worried eyes and swallowed hard. Every time she saw the bandaged spot where the gun had shot him, she felt a wave of guilt.

"They'll probably be looking for the missing ambulance, anyways." Annie agreed. They had a point. They didn't have a choice but to continue on foot. Robbie hobbled along slowly, one arm draped around his sister and the other draped around the girl who refused to leave him behind.

Robbie tried his best to keep the pace, after about 30 minutes he had to stop.

"I need a break, just a small one" he said. They stopped and sat under a tree.

"So did either of my heroines bring any money?" he asked mostly looking at his sister as he knew Annie would not have any being held captive in hospital and all.

Annie never took that into consideration. Money... The outside world thrived off of that. She almost forgot. She had been there long enough that she almost forgot there was an Outside. Annie shook her head. They all sat under the tree. Annie let Robbie lean into her. He laid down, his head resting on her lap. She played with his hair, brushing it off of his forehead. She kissed it lightly and held him. She never felt so right than when she was this close to him. It felt like home, the closest thing she would ever have to family ever again.

They both looked to Jenny. This was her grand plan. Had she thought all of it out?

She looked at them shocked for a moment, then smiled "Of course I have money, a couple of thousand in fact, and money in my own bank account, you forget brother, I did live away from home, you think I would rely on mom and dad?" she said to them.

Robbie in fact had forgotten that his sister was in fact more independent then he was, he smiled at he in relief, maybe they could buy a cheap car he thought.

"So what now, buy a car maybe? But then what, can you afford to work your way through college without mom and dad paying for it? I mean I think you are now officially cut off" he said to her.

Jenny didn't want to tell him too much, about how much money she did earn and how she went about doing it, he had enough on his plate already. She just smiled at him.

"Just sleep brother" she cooed to him and stroked his hair along with Annie.

Annie didn't want to intrude on Jenny and Robbie's conversation. It was obvious that Jenny was hiding something. But Robbie looked tired. What ever it was, she was trying to protect him from the knowledge of it.

"Maybe we should sleep here for a few hours." Annie suggested, looking down at Robbie, who was already falling asleep. He looked so beautiful, so serene. His pale skin was glowing in the moonlight, his dark hair made it look almost porcelain. "I think we've all been through a lot tonight." She rested her head against the tree trunk and held Robbie's form close to her. She would never let him go. It didn't matter what happened. The devil himself couldn't take him away from her at this point. She was sick of losing him. It had to end.

Jenny let Robbie and Annie fall asleep, then she got up and hitched a ride to the town, a place called Wallan, another rural community but she was sure she could buy a car there, she had changed back into the slutty clothes she wore to fool the guard and it didn't take long for her to get a ride. Once in town she found a car yard and bought a cheap old early 80's ford, rusty and old but it ran well, she filled it with gas and drove it back to where Annie and Robbie were sleeping under a tree.

Annie laid there sleeping. She stirred slightly. She only fully woke when she heard the sound of leaves being crunched under footsteps. She opened her eyes. She, somehow, knew what she would see before she even saw it. It was Clarke, of course it was. He would always find her. It seemed like tracking her had become his hobby. She looked beside her and Jenny was gone. She felt a panic. She wouldn't leave them, would she? Maybe she went to get a car... Robbie was in a deep sleep, still laying in her lap. Annie stared up a Clarke like an animal backed into a corner by a predator. She took in a deep breath, but spoke quietly, as not to wake Robbie.

"I knew you would find me." She laughed bitterly to herself. She couldn't go back. She couldn't part with Robbie, not again. Clarke didn't look like he was ready to turn her in. It looked like he came there with that plan, but the way he stared at her underneath the tree made him think twice. Annie prayed he came alone.

"Please, just let us go." She whispered. She held Robbie tight. She noticed that Clarke saw this, he looked down with a pained expression. It hurt him, that she chose Robbie instead of him. "Come with us." She added. "Get away from the dark and the poison of that town." Annie really did care for Clarke, even after everything he's done. He had good somewhere inside of him, she just knew it.

Annie heard a car in the distance and she knew it was Jenny. As she pulled up to the scene, she acted quickly. She was out of the car in a flash, gun pointed at Clarke's head.

"No!" Annie screamed. That woke Robbie up. He looked up, startled. Annie scrambled up and went to move in front of Clarke. "Don't shoot him. That's not who we are..." She panted and looked at Jenny intensely. "We are not murderers."

"Oh that is exactly who we are, who we are now anyway, thanks to this creep and his fucked up family, this is what we are" Jenny said snarling, spittle spraying from her mouth as she threatened Clarke with the gun, "Ready to die Clarke?".

Clarke just put his hands up, "Sure, do it" he said without trying to beg for his life, knowing it wouldn't work anyway.

"Why Clarke, why don't you just drop all of it, pretend you never saw us" he said to him.

Annie looked at Robbie with adoration. Clarke tried to kill him, nearly succeeded - still he's laying there trying to save his life. She smiled at him and looked back at Jenny.

"Jenny, listen to me. We don't have to do this." She considered. There was nothing stopping him from pulling out his phone and getting his dad again. "What if we tie him up? Keep him with us? He'll be off our trail and he couldn't call for back up?" Annie tried to find a way around killing him. She was not a murderer. She would not start her new life on Clarke's blood.

Jenny heard Annie but didn't care, "no, he is like a mad dog, he wants to hunt us down, he wants to deliver us to his pa, for us to be raped and for Robbie to be killed." she said without much feeling.

"Stand away from Annie" she said to him. He complied and stepped out from behind Annie.

"Clarke! Please just turn around, drive away" Robbie yelled at him.

"On your knees Clarke" Jenny said to him and once more he complied.

She put the gun to his head, "You will just keep coming won't you, you will never give up" she said to him.

Annie couldn't let this happen. She put herself between Clarke and the gun. She held Clarke to her. Even when he fought to push her away, she held him tighter.

"He is a human being." Annie gasped. "We do not kill people. We would be no better than them if we did." She was suddenly very afraid of losing Clarke. She felt very confused at that moment in time, her mind was reeling. Her body huddled over Clarke and she turned her head to Jenny. "Please. We don't have to do this. We'll tie him up and take his phone and he won't be a threat to us anymore." Annie was afraid to look at Robbie. What was he thinking as he watched her hold Clarke in this way? It's true she was trying to protect his life, but part of her responded to being close to him. She had to resist the urge to kiss his head and stroke his hair. Every time he hunts her down. And every time she can't help but fall for him all over again.

Robbie looked at Annie in shock, he didn't want Clarke dead but he didn't realize Annie still harbored feelings for him either, he was quite hurt by what he was seeing unfold before him.

Jenny too was shocked, this boy who nearly killed her brother, who would have sacrificed Annie to the town boys, and now she is defending him.

"I think Annie, you need to remember who your friends are, Clarke is not one of them." she told her still with the gun to his head.

Annie knew Jenny was right. But she couldn't let him die.

"Maybe not. Maybe he is the reason for every bad thing that's happened since I first came to this piece of shit town." She still huddled over him. "But I will not sit here and watch a man die, no matter how wicked he is." He looked at Jenny and Robbie with steel resolve. She looked at Jenny. "Do you really think you can live with taking a life? Can you live with that every day?" She looked at her hard. "I know you. Because I know Robbie. You are both tough but you are not murderers." She looked at Robbie and she could see the pain in his eyes.

"Robbie..." She started, he looked away, his face hurt. God, what was she doing? What should she care of Clarke was dead? He didn't care about her. All he's done is turn her in. But it wasn't about that. It was about what's right and what's wrong. Her parents taught her better than this.

"All I know is that this piece of shit keeps finding you, keeps hunting us, he could have stayed in Maidensfayre, could have let it all go, but no, no he had to keep on coming. If he has to die to keep us safe than so be it." she held fast, not caring about consequences.

"Annie, stand aside, stand aside and let me end this once and for all" she said to her.

Clarke wept a little, his pants started to drip, he wet himself, he was ok with dying, but all this talking was too much.

"Just do it already, spare me the talking" he begged.

Annie looked down at him, angry.

"I am trying to save your life!" She shouted at him. "You are unbelievable, do you know that? I give you chance after chance and every time you break my trust. Here I am, standing in front of a gun to protect YOU, and you still just see me as some annoying troublesome little girl. But you know what? You're a spoiled little brat. If you don't get things exactly your way, you run to daddy. Newsflash daddy's boy: The world doesn't revolve around you." She was on fire. "Now, I don't know what it is exactly, what your issues are, but for god's sakes, GET. OVER. IT." She said the last three words very distinctly, she got really close to his face. For the first time since she's come to Maidensfayre, she was finally standing up for herself. She was tired of being pushed around.

"Just get over yourself, Clarke..." She sighed. She was tired of everything. "Robbie was your friend. Since when did you become the person that shoots his friend?" She looked at Robbie after.

"Are you that type of person too?" She asked Robbie, then looked up to Jenny. Her eyes went back to Robbie. "Have you become the same type of person, Robbie?" She was raging and she looked at all of them like they were aliens. "What the hell is this? What is in the freaking water system in this town?" She spoke to herself, up to the heavens.

"The bottom line is..." She looked at all three of them. "The betrayal, the killing... It all has to stop. Now."

"Yes it does have to stop, it will stop when Clarke is dead, it will send a message to the rest of them. They picked the wrong three kids to fuck with, isn't that right Clarke." Jenny was also furious, she wanted all of this to end right now, she could shoot Clarke without even batting an eyelid, he had shot Robbie, he intended to kill him, the world would be better off without him.

"Clarke, just drop it man, back off and drop it. We will tie you up, and then when we are a safe distance we will call your dad he will come and find you, surely you don't want to die man, can't you see Jenny wants to shoot you, to put you down?" Robbie pleaded with Clarke to just come to his senses.

Clarke dropped his head down, he was crying now, the tough act gone, he didn't want to die, but could he really stop following Annie? He loved her, "I love you Annie, how am I supposed to live without you?" he cried.

"Oh for fucks sake, all this for pussy?" Jenny sighed.

"Who are we to play God?" Annie cried, tears made her vision blurry. "He almost killed Robbie." She looked down at Clarke. "And I will never.. never forgive him for that. But we do NOT have the right to say who lives and who dies." She motioned with her hands to Clarke, broken down on the ground. "Look at him! He's helpless. He doesn't have a weapon. He's alone. Could you really shoot a helpless human being? It wouldn't even be self defense." She looked at Jenny hard. "It would be cold blooded murder. You are not a murderer Jenny. Please..." She walked up to her and held her hands that were tight around the gun, she lowered it down slowly. "Please, just put the gun down."

Annie was shocked at Clarke's confession. Although part of her has always known, he sure as hell had a funny way of showing it. She glared at Jenny, she was sick and tired of hearing that. "For pussy." "Cunt struck." She was more than that. She was a person. She was torn and angry and confused.

She was with Robbie. It would always be Robbie. She loved Clarke, she cared for him deeply - but it just wasn't enough. She still didn't want to see him dead. "We'll take him with us." Annie said abruptly. She had one hand on the gun with Jenny and the other reached out to Clarke. "Clarke, give me your cell phone." She demanded. She stole a glance at Robbie, he looked hurt, she tried to give him a reassuring look.

Robbie couldn't look anymore, Annie was trying far too hard to save him, he didn't want Jenny to cross that line either but the way Annie was so passionately protecting him was too much.

"Fine, but if we see you one more time after this Clarke, I will gut you like the fucking pig you are" Jenny snarled at him and kicked him in the stomach as he still knelt on the ground.

"Let's tie him up, we will call his dad when we are long gone, no more chances with these psychos" she added.

Robbie sighed as Jenny and Annie tied him up.

Annie nodded in agreement. This was best. She felt bad leaving Clarke. She may never see him again. This fact shouldn't bother her, but it did. They tied Clarke up and decided to spend one more night in the secluded spot underneath the huge willow tree. Jenny brought food and they made a fire to roast hot dogs. Nobody talked much after the huge fight. Jenny was the first to fall asleep. Poor Jenny, Annie thought. This must be so hard for her. Annie leaned against Jennys shoulder and fell asleep shortly after, the events of the day exhausted her completely.

Robbie and Clarke were the only ones awake. They looked at each other with determination and a fierce love for Annie. Robbie looked like he was going to speak, but Clarke cut him off.

"Everything is a mess isn't it, I know you love Annie, but you seemed to want to possess her in a rather psychotic way lets face it, she still seems to have a soft spot for you anyway though. I think you know Jenny is serious about killing you if you ever track us again" Robbie said to him.

"Yeah, I know. I have to get over her, I guess when you guys are gone you will wait quite some time before making the call to my dad, it's a big world, I have never ventured this far before anyway. It all seems really stupid now in so many ways" Clarke answered.

"I wanted her..." Clarke started, staring at the sleeping Annie. "At any cost. Even if it meant keeping her in danger. I just wanted her with me." He let his head hang down. "While all she wanted to do was be with you." Clarke laughed lightly to his self. He picked up his head to look at Robbie. "I know that she loves you." His eyes trailed back to Annie, he watched her small chest heave up and down as she breathed slowly. "She loves me too, you know."

Robbie looked at Clarke, "Yeah, well I don't think she really knows what she wants, she still wants you I think. She likes you, or at least the you that she thought you were, she is still attached to that romantic savior act that you do so well, I am too low key for her, to ordinary, the worker man who does what he is supposed to and has a moral code. Annie likes danger it seems. Anyway, if she decides to stay with you, I won't fight her, it is her mistake to make". Robbie was on the verge of giving up on this girl, he couldn't work her out anymore.
