Caoimhe blushed, staring at his chest, unsure if she could look into his eyes. "I'm not exactly a relationship kind of girl. But I'd be willing to try..." She hadn't expected anything remotely like this when she'd left archery practice that afternoon. She'd thought that her day would go just like every other: Practice until her arms were ready to fall off, take a shower, and go back to her dorm and pass out. That was her life. She poured herself into her archery, and guarded the hell out of her heart, avoiding almost all emotional contact.
She'd grown tired of being used and abused by people, and so she'd shut herself out of their world and locked herself away in her own. But maybe she could let Gwain into her world. Maybe she could let him in...
She just hoped that if she did, he wouldn't want back out right away. She wasn't a cute, innocent girl, or a slutty party-goer like most of the other girls at school. She was sometimes dark and almost always frighteningly different. And that had proven to be a good guard against attracting friends and potential boyfriends.
