Andrew sat in his computer room searching through the profiles of dozens of single women on the internet. He had messaged a bunch of women but they either rejected him or never responded. He was frustrated as he noticed the visitors on his own profile sat at a big 0 viewers.

He clicked the profile of username Feirharte7. She seemed attractive, a basic profile, but at this point he was willing to try anything. He click on the button to send her a message and typed in the text.

"Hello, my name is Andrew, I hope you are well. I am interested in getting to know you more, perhaps we can go out for coffee sometime."

He knew he had to be forward or these girls wouldn't bother reading.

Carla woke up with a frown. Another sleepless night. Dreams of fantasies unfulfilled. Her heart raced with a seething anger. The last guy she'd dated had used her for her wealth, just to buy gifts for his fiancée, whom Carla hadn't met until he told her it was over. She had no trust for men anymore. They all wanted her bank contents, didn't desire her as a woman at all.

She went and took a cold shower, icy streams of water washing over her body, just as the ice that ran cold in her blood these days. No one would ever get to her, ever again. A few tears fell, as she thought she'd be alone for the rest of her life.

She'd date online, she realized. Find someone to pass the hours with.

Carla signed up on a dating site, looking through profiles of men, as she wondered which ones were actually single, and who was pretending to be. Hours passed, and someone sent her a message. A guy with the username italianarg. She clicked it, reading it, then she responded.

"Hello, Andrew. I'm Carla. A cup of coffee sounds nice. Where and when would you like to meet?"

She'd have coffee, then leave. This guy was most likely just the same as the others she'd been with.

Andrew woke up the next morning rubbing his eyes he rolled out of bed and lurched over to his computer. He logged onto the dating website and saw a response. His eyes almost bugged out of his head as he excitedly clicked the message reading, "Oh Carla, a beautiful name" he thought to himself.

He clicked reply and started typing a response:

"I am available any night this week, I usually visit the Cafe Italiano on Park Street for coffee, they have delicious food also, would you like to meet there around 7 pm any night you are free?" He replied having to fix some typos from excitement.

Carla went for a boat ride, on the river, enjoying the sights. When she got back home, she let herself into the big, lonely house, and grabbed some lunch.

She took a walk around her estate after lunch, the weather nice, which really relaxed her. As she was walking, she checked her messages on the dating site from her iPhone. He'd replied.

Andrew...she mused. Wonder what he looks like. She tried to squash her enthusiasm, but was still looking forward to it after the rant in her mind.

She replied to his message.

"I can meet you tonight at 7pm. I look forward to dinner. I'll be wearing a white hat, and a blue dress."

Andrew also checked his messages on his iPhone while he was at work. Excited by another message from Calra he opened and read.

"Oh a blue dress, very nice!" he thought to himself. He then replied:

"That sounds great, I will reserve a table with my name and I will meet you there" He replied knowing he would have to look sharp for her as well.

The rest of the work day dragged on.

Carla patiently waited for Andrew's reply, still trying to mentally talk herself out of meeting him tonight. She got his message, and smiled, in spite of her negative thoughts.

She replied again.

"See you at 7."

She showered and dressed, and left her estate, driving an older car, the one she drove so no one would suspect she had a lot of money. She hated to be looked at like an unending supply of cash.

Carla got to the cafe shortly before 7, and waited just inside, for Andrew, her date tonight.

Just tonight, she told herself. I can't be hurt again. I wouldn't survive this time.

Andrew was anxious as he drove over to the restaurant.

He wore this sports coat and dress pants combo to look sharp

He knew that being too aggressive on the first date may scare this woman away so he decided to play it casual and just get to know her.

Once he parked he walked inside the restaurant where he saw a beautiful woman in a hat and blue dress.

"Hi, you must be Carla" he said with a casual smile flashing a perfect pearly white smile.

Carla waited until he got there, and as Andrew smiled, she smiled back, not being able to help herself. He was very good-looking, she thought to herself. She held out her arm for him to take.

"Yes, I'm Carla. And you're Andrew, correct?" Carla asked him. "You look nice."

Too good, she thought. Her body was warming up, despite the air conditioning in the restaurant. Oh, my. The effect he was having on her. She tried to quell her passionate thoughts, but it was very difficult. He was just different than her past dates.

Hope flared in her chest. Could he be interested in her, as a woman? She could only wait and find out.

Andrew smiled and took her hand "Yes, I am you look stunning Carla" Looking into her eyes, with his piercing deep hazel ones.

He turned to the host "Hello, table for two reserved under the last name Ronalo" He said.

The host nodded and lead the couple back to a private corner table lit by a candle and the dim ambient ceiling lights.

Like a gentleman Andrew helped her into her seat and pushed her chair in before sitting down.

"This place is well know for their seafood and pasta dishes" He said looking over the menu.

Andrew took her hand, instead of her wrist, only making her skin more heated.

"Thank you," she said, in a shy way, having no idea how he could be getting to her like this.

She looked into his hazel colored eyes, the depths surprising her. He looked very mesmerizing to her, his eyes seeming to draw her in. Carla listened as he spoke to the host, his voice caressing her soul in an indescribable way.

They got to the table, and he helped her into her seat. She smiled, thinking he was very nice. He sat down across from her, and she grabbed her menu.

"Pasta sounds good," she told him, smiling.

He looks up once he has decided on his meal "So Carla tell me a little about yourself, what do you do for a living?" He asks smiling.

Even in the dark room his eyes seem to light up as they gazed upon the beautiful woman sitting across the table. He didnt show it, but he was very nervous.

Still he wanted to appear confident to impress her.

Carla smiled, closing her menu, as she looked over at him.

"I was a photographer in college," she said. "Not much of one these days. How about you?"

She looked over his face, trying to find something wrong with him, but she was coming up with nothing. He was gorgeous. Perfection in a suit. She began to wonder what he would look like without it.

Her cheeks reddened as she fanned herself with the menu. "What do you do, Andrew?" She asked, gladly taking a few sips of water as the waitress placed two glasses in front of them.

The waitress walks away giving us another minute to look over the menu.

"I work at a salesman in the energy industry, I sell to business to help them upgrade their buildings." He said smiling, knowing it was one of his best features he planned to flaunt it all night.

"So you said you were a photographer in college, what do you do now?" He asked her.
But before she could answer the waitress returned to take their order.

"I will have the mussels over linguini with a glass of house wine"

As the waitress walked away, Carla listened to him describe what he does. He sounded confident about his position in the world, sure of what he wanted out of life. She admired that. Most people went through life not knowing where their place was, but he seemed to have it all figured out. He smiled again, showing off the straight, even teeth that looked ultra-white.

Carla ordered next. "I'll have the pasta with pesto, and a side of garlic shrimp, and a glass of iced tea."

The waitress left their table again, and she answered Andrew's question.

"I do a bit of modeling nowadays," she replied, smiling back at him.

Andrew smiled and nodded as the waitress left so they could have their conversation.

"Really? I could've guessed, you are beautiful. What kind of modeling do you do?" He asked

The excitement inside of him at the thought of dating a model is staggering. He remained calm and confident on the outside but inside his heart and mind were racing and his hormones kicked up a notch as well.

"Yes. I model the latest Paris fashions. Handbags, dresses, accessories, jewelry," Carla answered, looking into his eyes. He seemed to be barely containing some sort of emotion, though she'd didn't know what it was. He looked so relaxed.

She took his hand, squeezing it as they waited for their food.

"I'm having a nice time with you, Andrew. Which is rare for me, because getting close to people is something that I find extremely difficult. But it feels natural with you," she said, smiling again.

"I am having a nice time with you also Carla. That is really cool that you are a model, I would be curious to see some of the photos and ads that you are in." I say smiling back at you.

He squeezed her hand back and focused on her eyes. The intense passion seemed to be growing by the second. "I am glad that you can feel comfortable and be yourself with me, that is what I want."

He was stunned at how well this was going, he wasn't sure if she would play hard to get, or if he could lure her in and show her his deepest desires.

Carla was glad he was having an enjoyable time with her. She smiled back at him. "I have a portfolio in my car. Maybe we could go somewhere well-lit and look it over."

"I have a feeling being around you will always be this effortless, Andrew. And I'm looking forward to more time spent in your company," Carla said softly.

She looked at their hands, realizing they were still linked. She wasn't going to make this easy for him. He was going to have to prove that be was interested in her. She released his hand, putting hers in her lap.

"What made you look online for a date? You're quite good-looking. If I'd seen you in passing, I would've assumed you're already attached, or otherwise taken."

He looked at her nodding even after she released his hands. "Yeah that sounds great I would love to see some photos" He thought about her second statement.

"I am glad that you want to be in my company more, I feel the same way. Thank you, I was actually wondering the same thing about you. I just have been on a bit of a dry spell in the dating world. I have been single for a long time and looking for the right woman. Someone that I can be myself around, someone who is smart, funny, caring and beautiful. Honestly, someone like you" he says blushing.

"Why are you single? You are a model, guys must be fawning over you" He asks her.

She listened to his responses, thinking to herself they seemed genuine.

"Okay, we'll look at those sometime after dinner," she said.

He said thank you, like he didn't know he was totally gorgeous. How oblivious could he be? The man was dripping with a sexiness she'd often fantasized about.

"You're welcome," she said simply. "And thank you for your honesty. I've been told lies before, so the truth is really quite refreshing. I'm more careful now than I used to be. I find myself always questioning a guy's motive in dating me. Is he trying to climb on the social ladder? Seeking something other than company? Does he have some other girl on the side?" Carla sighed, summing up her answer like this: "I have trust issues. And the fawning I can barely tolerate. I want a man that can carry on a conversation, one that makes me smile, and knows how to stimulate my mind. I want someone honest, who won't hurt me. I'm hoping that someone is you," she finished, smiling at him, as the waitress arrived with their food.

The waitress sets down the meal for them, smiles and leaves.

"I hope that I can be that man you have been looking for also" he says beaming up a smile at her.

"I can understand past relationships and situations causing issues for you, I hope that I can eliminate them and show you that there are men out there who have good hearts and good intentions that you can trust.

With that he takes a sip of the wine he ordered and takes a bite of his food.

Carla listened to Andrew, his words making her automatically smile back at him.

"I hope so, too, Andrew," she said, loving his perfect smile. "Thank you. I'm glad you want to put in the effort. My heart is open, and I want to find love. I think we're headed somewhere good."

Carla started eating her shrimp, then, glad they came already peeled. The garlic tasted amazing. She took a deep drink of her tea, licking her lips slowly when she put the glass down, messing with him a little.

He noticed her lick her lips, those luscious red lips. He was feeling a growing desire towards her.

He continued to eat his meal trying not to let the warming sensation he felt towards her make him nervous.

He surprisingly was very neat with the linguini, wrapping it around a spoon like a professional and eating it without slurping the noodles down. Once he finished his meal he sat back.

"So have you ever thought of doing other forms of modeling?"

She continued eating her pasta, but Carla's thoughts were anything but food-related. She was feeling very hot all over, and knew the man seated across from her was the source of the heat.

"I've considered it, but I like what I'm doing now," she answered, taking another sip of her tea, and pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"How about we talk about work some other time?" She asked, once she was finished with her meal. "I would like to go somewhere and discuss personal matters. I don't know where we could go. Perhaps the park, or the river. Do you have any place in mind? Somewhere quiet?" Carla asked, wanting to get to know Andrew on a more personal level.

He beamed another white smile at her, yes his smile was white even after eating pasta. Upon hearing this he could feel himself heating up even more also.

"Yes, even though your line of work is more interesting than mine and I would love to hear more about it. We can go for a walk in the park after dinner, there are not a lot of people in the park at this hour, so we would have some peace and quiet" He says to her.

He knew he would soon get his chance.
