The boss is back (Nightstalker/cheerio)

His cheeks reddened even more at her words his body sinking lower into the firm mattress as long thick fingers spread out wide across her lower back, yawning softly he spoke soon after. "Thanks baby. I love you so much."

Ross fell asleep soon after, waking the next morning with a spring in his step as he moved about the kitchen in his court room attire, fresh coffee had brewed and orange juice on the table. He was going to eat today, even during the breaks that meant dealing with the cafeteria on his own.

A sly grin spread across his face at her words, his eyes sparkling as he sat down and poured her coffee sliding it across the table towards her. "No more than what you have done and still do for me" He said softly.

How could just a few simple words bring his cheeks to heat so much, his eyes averted from hers briefly as he buttered his toast and tasted the eggs with it washing it down with a few sips of coffee. His words spoken softly. "So I can drop you off at work then pick you up after unless you have other plans?"

Ross heard the softly spoken agreement from her, soon after finishing his coffee along with the toast and breakfast. Washing up his plates and cup leaving them to drain over the rack he spoke. "Ready to go to work."

He smiled into her eyes and closed the front door behind them stealing a kiss before they both got in the car with relative privacy around his area compared to work. His words spoken softly as he got into his car. "That was to give me extra strength for today."

On the drive to drop her off at work he kept thinking over her words, parking near the building a smile spread across his face as he spoke. "I will do just that, last night helped so much and thank you. You have a good day with the paper work you need to take care of."

He waited for her to leave the car before driving off towards the court house, parking almost where he had yesterday and with his suitcase in his right hand he walked calmly, casually but purposely across to the large glass doors opening one and entering. Down the long and wide corridor his body moved easily finding the right room number, he was early but that did not matter as it gave him time to lay out his notes and prepare for what may come.

She had settled to her work willingly. All the same she had looked at his profile on the computer and smiled, marking him for a raise the next time accounting got to work on the cheques. Her work was slow and boring and she found she was checking court tv every half-hour soon enough. Her work got done slowly but surely and once she had piled up the paperwork she had done she began to look at her new paperwork before she made a start, wanting it cleared before she had to get back into court the next day.

Ross took a few deep breaths just as the judge and jurors entered, his eyes meeting each of theirs before nodding to the opposition lawyers. Hearing some light laughter he shrugged it off and with his posture the same as last, back even straighter if that was possible he breezed through his opening statement, gave several rebuts to theirs and was even smirking part way through it. Most points if not going to him easily, confidence growing as his notes were so organized and thankful for it. Every part of the case was slowly being put his way until they called for an adjournment, glancing at his watch he could not believe the time. It had flown by and leaving the room he made his way to the cafeteria, ordered a couple of sandwiches along with a soda.

The sound of Ross winning his arguements had made her smile. She had picked up her cell and sent him a text. 'Keep up the good work'.

As Ross at his lunch he thought of the afternoon's proceedings and using the wash room on the way back he quickly checked his phone, noticed the text and sent a text back. "Baby not without your help." Soon back in court he made several more rebuttals and it was now down to deliberation, the decision came back quicker than he had expected. He smiled and glanced around the court room as the next one started. He was on a high and a roll so to speak and everything that was thrown at him by the opposing lawyers easily taken care of.

She had read his text back and found herself smiling to herself as she got back to work. Each time he won made her smile and she watched him carefully. His amazing prowess may have been partly taught but she couldn't help smiling as she watched him grow into his own person.

Ross waited for the decision to be passed down on his third case, all notes neatly stacked away in his briefcase as he quickly glanced at his watch. He might be late picking her up today and just as he found out he won he sent her a text. "Call a cab and meet me at home, I will pay later." Leaving the court room soon outside in the fresh air it totally hit him what he had done as he almost slumped down the solid concrete wall. His briefcase and right arm hanging limply by his side as he took several deep breaths. Heart slowly returning to normal as he casually walked across to his car, sitting behind the wheel he kept glancing at his cell phone.
