Like Grandfather Like Grandson (Alexander May & Malomyotismon)

Alex got in with him, leaning over and kissing his daughter gently before starting back to the house. He could tell Zoey was sad because of John's broken heart, and he was much the same way. "I love you baby girl....you to John."

John was completely silent the whole way back to the house.

As they reached home, Zoey was angry for the very first time at John. They entered home and looked at John with tears in her eyes. "John! You are grounded! No XBOX or games for you for one week!" she cried and hugged her dad.

Alex smiled as they walked inside, hugging his daughter and saying nothing at John's punishment. Zoey knew him better, and it was her choice how he was disciplined.

"What...but why?" He looked at his mother in disbelief. This was turning out to be the worst day ever! Not only had he lost Amy but now he was grounded to.

Zoey looked at him as she cleaned her tears. "First, you broke a beautiful woman's heart just because you are too spoiled. And second, you weren't paying attention on the road, and you thrashed your dad's car. That's why you are grounded! Go to your room and i'll call you when food's ready..." she said, grounding him for the first time in her life.

"Because I....because I'm to spoiled?" He looked at her whispering out in a small voice then, quickly rising to be angry as he yelled at his mother for the first time in his life. "I DID IT FOR YOU!!!" He shook as he looked at her. "Because I didn't want to break my promise to YOU!!!" He turned away from her then, not saying a thing as he started upstairs. He blamed her even if she saw it differently.

Zoey frowned sadly and her jaw trembled as she cried tears of sadness, her son was angry at her for the first time. She hugged her daddy and cried. "Daddy...he hates me..." she whispered as some tears entered her mouth.

Alex held her tight against him, kissing her as he shook his head. "No he doesn't Zoey." He looked into her eyes. "You know he doesn't. He's just angry and blinded by his loss of Amy."

"If only he hadn't been so stubborn...Amy loved him with all her soul...but her heart cracked when he didn't love her back...Poor Amy...I guess i'll get him a male teacher," she said, crying. "No...he will go to school."

"No." He kissed her gently. "Firstly don't say poor Amy. No matter what you think it's her fault. She ran out immediately, not giving him time to explain. And if you force him to go to school all it will do is make him angrier. Give him time baby girl."

"Listen to me baby girl." He looked at her as he said that. "If you make him do something while he's still broken-hearted he will end up hating you. Give him a while to get over Amy first okay? How do you think I'd feel if you left me."

"Devastated...i know...but he will never get along with any teacher...and he will still go to school again...and as his mother, that's my final choice..." she said, getting on the kitchen to cook dinner.

He followed her insistent. "And I'm his father. I let you make most of the choices of his lives, but this one is going to be different." He pulled her into his arms, looking into her eyes. "Give him a week. If he isn't better by then, send him back to school."

"No...leave me alone...you have never been in his life...i'm his mom and i make choices...ok?" she asked, now angry at him. "I'm his mom, and if he behaves bad, i'll have to punish him..."

He sighed as he looked at her. "Fine...but let me make two things clear. Firstly....you DO NOT tell me what to do. I am your father. Not the other way around. Secondly, if you send him back to school he'll just be even worse until they expel him. It won't change a thing."

Zoey shed a few tears. "Maybe...i should leave...Don't follow me...Just...leave me alone..." Zoey said crying and left the house on her own car. As she drove, she stopped by the place her dad had took her when she was 10, her favourite cliff. "Maybe...should i jump?"

He sighed saying nothing. He understood Zoey, which was why he was confused. He didn't see any reason for her to be so upset about this. It didn't make any sense at all, and it made even less sense that she was blaming John for something that was Amy's fault.

When Zoey got back home Alex was waiting for her in her room, and when she walked in he visibly relaxed as he pulled her into his arms. "Never scare me like that again."

John was still in his room, brooding. He'd only come down to get dinner.

He kissed her deeply before pulling back to look at her. "I don't know what I'd if something happened to you....promise me you'll never do that again."

"Never...i'll never do that again...as long as you respect that i am her mother and that i have been too nice with him. Your car was truly expensive, and he is going back to school," she explained, kissing him.

"I will only agree to that if you respect that I'm his father to." He looked at her as he said that. "At my house alone I have four other cars. Give him one week. Just one week." As he spoke he held her against him, not giving her the option to run away this time.
