GM: It is a hot day on this dusty road. The red, sandy soil kicks up in the breeze, slightly obscuring the vision of anyone under 5 feet tall.

This side of town isn't the good the good side. Many of the ramshackle homes are made of wooden planks, tin shed roofing, and lots of baked mud and clay. Most people stay inside during the day, since it's so hot and dry.

Which begs the question. Why is Leo out during High Noon in the slums of this large wasteland city, when and where it is hottest and dryest?

It was just Leo's luck, to be in another world again. Construction in his home city had caused him to take a detour after work. One turn down an unused road, and he'd hit another Rift. His third this month. Leo figured he might as well explore, while he was here. He had no reason to search for an immediate way home. At least he could get home, since he remembered exactly where the Rift was. That particular Rift had been the stable kind, which meant at worst he'd have to wait a day. So Leo rode his bike, looking for something to catch his interest.

At least he didn't have to worry about being fired from the White Fox Dojo too much. After an awkward conversation with his new boss while standing over a vampire he'd dusted, his boss let these things slide, as long as he had a story. And Leo usually did. Just his luck...

GM: As Leo rides, he notices there are very few people out. Mostly homeless people sitting in the shade. There is a group of five or six that catch his eye, however. Peeking at him from a back alley about fourty yards ahead, they seem to resemble... Banditos. Old West style.

As one, they rise up and start reaching for their weapons...

[Combat Start]

[Leo goes first]

Subtlety was not his forte, and it wasn't theirs apparently. So, he drove right up to them and flipped off his bike. Landing in an expert Karate stance, he stood in front of the nearest one.

Move action
Driving: 8 skill check
Acrobatics: 10 skill check

Assumptions: Leo was already moving, and bike can cover 40 yards. If not, than close as possible.

GM: [Unless he didn't attempt to stop or slow his bike, then he can do all this. Otherwise, dismounting will be an action next round. If so, he can make a step after dismounting, provided he makes his acrobatics check.]

GM: Bike flies into Bandito (3)! Bandito (3) Fails to dodge! Bandito (3) is knocked down! Bandito (3) takes 30 HP damage! Bandito (3) fails his HT roll to stay conscious!

Bandito (1) fires his pistol at Leo! He is 3 yards away, straight forward. Bandito (1) succeeds his attack, and will do 7 piercing damage to the Torso if Leo doesn't block, parry or dodge!

Bandito (2) draws his pistol! He is 5 yards away, left forward.

Bandito (4) aims his pistol at Leo! He is 3 yards away, right forward.

Bandito (5) draws his pistol! He is 8 yards away, right forward.

Bandito (6) exits the alleyway with his pistol drawn, and fires while moving! He is 7 yards away, right by right forward. Bandito (6) misses completely!

Leo rushes forward, dodging the bullet with a cartwheel, following it with a punch to the gut of Bandito 1. (6 damage to Bandito 1 if defense fails)

Acrobatic Dodge
Acrobatic check: 9
Dodge check: 12
Move and Attack action
Attack: 5
Damage: 4 +2 for skill

For Clarification, Bike is now off or stalled. If stalled, will be off next turn. Based off my Dad's bike, which you need a key to start, but keeps going until the throttle is let go a certain time.

GM: [Dodge happens when attacked, not on your turn. Don't say how you dodged, or I'll have to find a way to use it against you. In this case, I am saying you didn't cartwheel, or else your turn would be over.]

[You rolled a 5 on your... Karate skill, which is 21, right? That's a Crit.]

Bandito (1) is hit in the gut! He takes 6 HP damage. Bandito (1) takes a Step backward and fires again! Bandito hits Leo's Right Leg for 9 piercing damage if Leo's defences fail.

Bandito (2) fires his pistol at Leo! He is 3 yards away, left by left forward. Bandito (2) misses.

Bandito (4) fires his pistol! He is 3 yards away, right by right forward. Bandito (4) hits Leo's Torso for 4 piercing damage if Leo's defences fail.

Bandito (5) moves toward the action! He is now 3 yards away, right forward.

Bandito (6) moves while firing! He is to Leo's right side, so Leo takes a -2 to his Active Defences. Bandito (6) hits Leo's Torso for 5 piercing damage if Leo's defences fail.

(Okay. Was just trying to be cinematic. Anyhow...)

Leo contemptuously dodges the bullets, and follows Bandito 1. He strikes with a three attack combo.

Attack option (with Step, Extra Attack and Rapid Strike)
Attack: 9, 15, 12. All hit if active defenses fail
Damage: 4, 5, 7

Dodges were 9, 11, 12. In case you were wondering.

GM: (By the way, you want me to default attacks to torso if you don't declare a hit destination? Or do you want me to continue rolling random hit locations?)

Bandito (1) manages to dodge the first, but the second and third hit him hard in the chest and face. Bandito (1) steps back again and fires! Bandito (1) misses entirely!

Bandito (2) steps and fires! He is 3 yards away and to the Leo's left side, so Leo takes a -2 to his active defences against this opponent. Bandito (2) misses!

Bandito (4) fires his pistol! He is 3 yards away and right by right forward. Bandito (4) Criticals! Bandito (4) does 6 damage to Leo's torso!

Bandito (5) insults Leo's mother while taking aim! He is 2 yards away, right forward. "Incomprehensible gibberish, but you know what he's saying about your mom isn't very nice.)"

Bandito (6) moves and fires twice! He is behind Leo, so Leo gets no active defence! Bandito (6) only hits with the first shot, though. Leo takes 4 damage to the left arm. (Leo should be fine, he has DR 6 on his arms...)

(I'm fine with random. Especially since I don't have body armor yet...)

Leo ignores the bullet wound and strikes Bandito 1 with a pulverizing stab to the eyes, followed by a strike to the groin.
He steps and turns to kept the most number of combatants in view.

(Kinda curious why no one in town is reacting to the shooting...)

Attack option
Attack: 10, 9, so hits unless Active Defense stops.
Damage: rolled 6 twice, so 40 and 10 if hit.
FP used: 2

DM: (Is damage taking into acount target location multipliers? With crushing, they are x1)

Huh. Didn't notice the crushing damage not on there for the eye shot. But it's be 10 then. Karate adds +2, and Mighty Blows adds +2 while using 1 FP. So ten each then. Guess I forgot to specify that. Sorry.

GM: Leo's first blow misses its mark, but Bandito (1) didn't see the second soon enough. (Rolling Rolling Rolling) Bandito (1) cries out in pain, then falls unconscious.

Bandito (2) is stunned.

Bandito (4) Steps to the side and fires his pistol twice! He is 3 yards away and to Leo's Right side. Bandito misses both times.

Bandito (5) fires his pistol! He is 2 yards away, right forward. Bandito (5)'s gun malfunctions... then explodes!! (Crit Fail- 12 Damage to the hand) Bandito (5) has lost his right hand!!

Bandito (6) steps fires his pistol! He is 4 yards behind Leo, so Leo gets no active defence! Bandito (6) hits Leo in the left leg for 7 piercing damage!

Wincing from the second bullet wound to the leg, and thankful he wore his greeves, Leo moves next to Bandito 2 and attacks with a strike, turning to get every enemy in view as able.

Move and Attack option
Attack: 8
Damage: 4 +2 Karate skill

GM: (Assumed you used your move of 8 to get behind him.)

Bandito (2) is struck in the groin! Bandito (2)'s eyes water up as he falls to the ground, whimpering softly.

Bandito (4) turns around and runs away in fear.

Banditio (5) is stunned due to cringing in sympathetic agony. He is 7 yards away, forward by left forward.

Bandito (6) gets mad, and fires as many bullets as he is able! He is 7 yards away, right forward. Bandito (6) hits with a 4 HP damage shot to the right foot, a 10 HP shot to the right leg, provided Leo doesn't make his defences. The third shot misses.

Leo dodges the bullets, and shouts "Kuroken!" while striking Bandito 2 in the face.

Dodge roll: 11 and 12
Attack option (with Extra Attack)
Kiai: 7, skill 14, margin of success 7, against Bandito 2. Success equals mental stun. +3 Intimidate against every Bandito.
Attack: 11
Damage: 3 +2 Karate +2 Mighty Blows
FP spent in round: 1
FP spent total: 3

GM: Bandito (2) is KO'd.

Bandito (5) turns and flees.

Bandito (6) fires his gun angrily at Leo's right arm for 6 HP Damage! (Changing up the format to be more cinematic

(What's your current HP?)

(HP 3, at the moment)

Leo dodges the bullet, and runs toward Bandito 6, attacking him if in range.

Dodge: 7
Move and Attack action
Attack: 9
Damage: 2 +2 Karate

GM: (Are you taking the -4 part of move amd attack into account? Easy to forget, so just making sure.)

Banito (6) grunts from being struck in the arm. Bandito (6) pulls out a large red marble and starts mumbling under his breath!

Magic. Leo did not like magic much, since it tended to do wonky things around him. So, no holding back. Leo struck with a barrage of punches, hoping to put the guy down before the magic started and something happened.

All-Out Attack (Double, with Extra Attack)
Attack: 6, 7, 12, 12
Damage: 6, 6, 3, 6, all with +2 Karate and +2 Mighty Blows
FP used in round: 4
FP used in total: 7

GM: Bandito (6) is knocked down and out by Leo's ringing blows!

The little red orb continues to glow, however. In fact, it seems to be glowing brighter!

Leo was not pleased with himself. If he hadn't forgotten the ballistic vest, he'd have walked away from this fight with only a scratch. Instead he would likely have another bullet scar. There was a guy with his hand blown off that he'd have to talk to, if he could find him. and there was a strange red marble glowing with likely magic. The only positive thing about the day so far was that 6 people had been stopped from hurting others. He wasn't going to kill or rob the downed and unconscious men, since he had no proof they were killers, and at the moment he had the moral high ground. Their word against his, while has was backed by a bullet wound, they only had the fact that 6 armed men were beaten by an unarmed one. Any justifiable legal court couldn't do anything to him. And if they came for revenge, with more men, he'd deal with it then. As for the shiny red rock...
Leo picked it up, to look at it closer. The impulsiveness that marked his life asked for it, even as he pulled an Ace of Hearts to leave behind.
