RE: The unlikely duo: Adventures in Erda (Ursa X QB)

Saint's Haven, as it was known, was a citadel built upon the Martyr's rock, the very site where Inquisitioners loyal to the Shining Prophet, under the lead of Saint Teram died in their valiant fight, defending the statue of the venerated Saint Yuleri from the hands of heathens. Today only the statue remains of the old temple that once stood, built upon it was a mighty fortress and a long tower known today as Saint's Haven. But to others, it had another name: Crowshaw. Why so? Because the bodies of witches, heretics and non-believers hung within it's patterned battlements, denied a proper burial in testament to their disgraceful beliefs.

One such witch was the Blackwood Sorceress. The villagers of Tipa had long complained of a witch who had cursed their wells and hexed their crops to ruin. With righteous zeal she was weeded out, paraded before the pilgrim's road and then sentenced to death by the tribune. Now, Roland, the very Inquisitioner who had watched over the tower, walked past the rotting smell of dead flesh as he walked towards the cell.

She had been given a flowing robe, a habit that they had told her to don to hide her...immodest dress, yet time and time again she refused, instead using the modest clothing as a mattress to supplant the bare ground she slept in. Time and time again she was tortured under mental duress to reveal the location of her Coven leader, Marisala of the Darkest Black, yet time and time again she professed that she was the leader of the coven. Water wheels and threats did little to extract from her the information they craved, until one day she was sentenced to her death: her limbs and joints to be shattered upon the 7 Virtues, then left to hang upside down on the 7th ring of the tower, for her to recount her sins as the crows fed on her flesh.

Today was indeed her execution. She was to be escorted to the lower areas, first to the chapel for her confession and then to the execution grounds. With his mace readied, he went to the cell where the woman's immodest figure was framed upon the wall, arms spread out and chained with manacles. She was forced into the air, supporting most of her weight from her wrists while her ankles were spread out. The position she was forced to keep for almost hours now, surely they would have run her wit to an end. "Your execution awaits, Heretic." Roland said, reading from the sentencing scroll, "You are to attend to the Chapel for your last rites and you are to speak with Brother Markus, of Saint Yuleri." That last line was rather atypical: not many could gain an audience with the senior inquisitioner shortly before their death.

Despite that, Roland walked close, reaching up as he cuffed a Talisman upon her collared neck, holding the magic sink steady. If she tried to cast any spell, the talisman would absorb it as her arms and ankles were unchained, hands forced to her neck level as she was stockaded and led down, flanked by two grimfaced Inquisitioners, dressed in their battle regalia...the very uniform the executioners wore shortly before dispatching their prisoners in a brutal and painful way...

Contrary to the Hell she had been put through the past few days, this current prison and stocks felt like child's play. Isleen laughed to herself, looking as Roland arrived.

Immediately perking up, she smiled brightly at him despite the awkward position her body was in. "Roland! How kind of you to come and get me yourself~ I'd clap but as you can see that's a bit difficult right now!" She managed cheerfully, even as he cuffed a talisman to her collar, making her squirm.

"Oh honey~ do you really think that sort of thing can keep you safe against a Witch~? Well no matter, it looks like I have an important date to keep~" She said in a sing-song voice, as they paraded her around, her voluptuous form more than showing and enticing all those who would dare to glance at her, to come closer and look harder.

As they made their way to the chapel for her so-called 'confession', Isleen tilted her head towards Roland. "What's considered a sin honey~? Drinking too much~? Loving too much~?" she giggled, enjoying the little banter she was having with him, even if it was completely one sided.
