A mistake was made. The Commander made a mistake, but he was making it right? To acknowledge a mistake made to a Jew, to his slave, was something Ester hadn't expected. As she felt her hand being gently held in his strong hands she reflected on how nice it felt to be treated human once more. She hadn't realized how much she missed being close to him. Those nice warm days where, even though she feared for her life, she also sought only to please him and merely hoped that he might return the gesture. This brought more tears to her eyes, for she doubted he truly felt the same way that she did. However, hearing news of her family brought a wave of sweet relief rushing through her fragile mind. To hear that their fates no longer rested on her shoulders was the greatest gift that she could be given and she wasn't sure what she could do to show her gratitude for this amazing gift.
"I'm stuck with him...for better or for worse...and he is stuck with me." She thought with a small smile as he left her to sleep. The days passed in a blur for Ester as well as old feelings for her Commander rekindled and she grew stronger with each passing day. She lamented in the fact that the scars would never fade, but the Commander didn't seem to mind, and in her mind, his thoughts were the only ones that mattered. Ester looked forward to his visits and it made her happy to note that he would visit each day. Once, he came to visit her when she was asleep. Instead of forcing her awake he simply began to "bathe" her with a warm sponge. At first, she simply moaned while she slept, a blush coming across her features and she awoke to see the Commander straddling over her. She smiled brightly and arched back, cumming while he bathed in between her thighs.
Ester was unsure how much time had passed, perhaps a week? Regardless, she knew that she had been in her bed long enough and that the house had to be getting filthy. She had been practicing walking around her room, so it wasn't difficult for her to make herself begin the simple chore of cleaning the Commander's study. Putting on her maid's outfit she blushed as she remembered the holes conveniently cut into the vest of the outfit, highlighting her nipples.
With a sigh, she ran her fingers through her hair in slight annoyance as she realized the mess that had been created in his office. She began first by alphabetizing his books to prevent confusion, and thus mess, in the future. She was sure to dust both the outside of the books and the shelves as she rearranged his books. She was finishing up as she heard the Commander walk into the room. She smiled softly, "Yes, I figured the house would need a really good cleaning...and I believe I was right. I just finished rearranging your books so that they are alphabetized and now I'm getting ready to work on the rest of the house. Is there anything I can get you?" She asked eagerly, bouncing up on her toes with a small spark in her own eyes.
After receiving a reassured no, she spent the next several hours on her own, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and cleaning. As she came to the master bath, she smiled at the memories that lay buried in the tiles. In her silence, Ester took notice of a sound she hadn't heard since her family had been forced to give away their possessions, including her beloved cat Amber, named for the beautiful color of her red fur. But why was she hearing meowing now? Walking down the stairs she followed the sound to the basement door, the very same one that she had been pushed into over a month ago to begin her new life. Opening the door, she looked down to see a small gray kitten making a distress call to it's mother.
"Lost your mother have you? Well, I know how you feel..." She smiled softly as she knelt down to pick up the small kitten in her hands. The terrified kitten looked to her for comfort, but Ester couldn't provide that. "No...No!" She scolded the kitten as it purred and mewed to her softly. The longer she stared at the kitten, the more her heart melted. It was the sound of thunder that brought her out of her trance and made her realize why the kitten had been so afraid. "Well...we can't let Max find you..." She murmured gently as she quietly closed the door, shushing the kitten as she took it into her room. Shutting the door, she warned the kitten with a whisper, "This is only because it's bad weather, once it clears up, you have to leave." Resuming her work it wasn't long before she made a dinner of beef stew, biscuits, and peach cobbler for the Commander. Her heart sank as she began to hear the soft mewing of the kitten that she had saved from the growing storm outside. Not missing a beat, the Commander walked into the kitchen, holding the tiny kitten in his right hand with Max sniffing eagerly at the terrified creature.
"I-I just didn't want it to die in the storm...I I'm sorry, I was going to kick it out once the storm died down...please...don't be mad?" Ester whispered softly, rubbing her arm and lowering her head.
