Mollie's Secret (MysticSparxman & Celebstars)

"I don't know how I will deal with it, I suppose I need to know what they are going to say first. It will probably be nothing, maybe they didn't notice anything like you said earlier. But we will see" Judging by her tone, she was clearly optimistic, maybe she would feel happier being involved with her mother and sister more. But first she had to talk to them. Seeing Trent look at the clock, Mollie knew her time was up, she didn't want to keep him any longer so she stood up, taking her back on her shoulder and then offering her hand to the therapist. After shaking it, Mollie headed outside and went to her car.

Over the next few days, Mollie went in to a deep depression after revelations about her father. She started to drink more and was clearly in a bad way. She didn't want to know her mother anymore, and as for her sister, she knew the truth to, the whole family had been keeping the secret. Managing to get on the phone, she set up an appointment with Trent again and would see him a week later.

When that time came, Mollie walked in to his office wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a white t-shirt and trainers. She didn't look her usual best. Her hair was tied up in to a ponytail and she was these dark sunglasses. Taking them off, she only had a little makeup on. The singer didn't say anything though, not even a hi. She just sat there shaking her leg wondering why she took his advice on asking about her father.

After his first session with Mollie had ended, Trent had thought it had gone rather well, and he had been hoping that things had gone just as well for her when she went to talk to her mother and sister. Of course, he was going to have next to no idea how things may have gone until his next session with her. Over the next couple of days, his thoughts drifted from Mollie and her family problems as he had many other patients to see. Sure enough though, he was kept rather busy with his other patients. As the days passed, Trent began to think that Mollie wasn't going to book another appointment with him after all. It's why there was a small part of him that was almost relieved when she did finally book another appointment with him. One thing he would be sure to ask her was how things went with her mother and sister, considering how important he knew it would have been for her.

That day, when he was due to see Mollie, his previous appointment had been over for at least thirty minutes before it was time to see Mollie. When he saw Mollie walking through the door, he wasn't too sure what to think. She certainly didn't look too happy. Trent sat in his chair behind his desk and then he picked up his pen and notepad before turning his attention back to Mollie. "It's nice to see you again Mollie. So, tell me how things went with your mother and your sister? Did you get the answers you were hoping for? Or did you learn something you didn't want to learn?" He asked in a curious tone. There was something telling him that he knew what the answer was going to be, but he knew he still had to ask.

Looking at the therapist through her dark sunglasses, Mollie took them off to reveal her eyes staring at him. "Tell you how things went? They were good at first, we went shopping, my and my mother, then we had some lunch before heading back to her home. It was at that moment when I decided to talk about dad. That smile she had on her face then passed to a look of shock, as though she was wondering why I wanted to talk about him. Anyway, I asked her why he treated me the way he did, never spending time with me, ignoring me and so on. It turns out he isn't my father. The man I was living with throughout my whole childhood wasn't my dad." Mollie then burst in to tears, holding her head in her hands. The big secret in the family was now out in the open. "That explains why he didn't love me like he loved my sister."
Knowing that there were tissues in the table from her previous visit, Mollie wiped her tears away the best she could. But it didn't stop them from falling still. "I haven't eaten, I haven't slept, I don't know what to do."

As much as Trent wanted to know how things had went between Mollie and her mother and sister, he couldn't help but wonder if things hadn't gone as she had hoped it would. When she had first started talking about it, Trent did seem glad as she had told him how things had started off going well. There was a small smile on his face as she told him this, but then the smile slowly disappeared as she went on to tell him how things eventually turned out. Trent did feel completely taken by surprise as Mollie told him what had happened. This was mainly due to the fact he hadn't expected her to say what she did. For a moment, Trent wasn't too sure what to say, and that wasn't something that happened often with his patients. Normally, he would have asked her to tell him how such a revelation made her feel, but it was pretty easy to see how it made her feel. Against his better judgment, Trent rose from his chair,, walked around to his desk and over to the couch Mollie was sitting on. He sat down beside her soon afterwards. "Look Mollie, I know things may not have gone as you would have liked, but you should look at it this way. At least now you know the truth. If you hadn't spoken to your mother, then you may not have found out what she has been hiding from you all these years. I really don't mean to sound harsh Mollie." He paused for a moment before he spoke again. "As for not eating or sleeping, that really isn't good. You need to eat and sleep Mollie. I know you probably don't feel like eating or sleeping, but you can't let this affect your health."

Looking at the therapist, she saw him get up from his desk, walking around it and making his way to her side, sitting on the couch. Now having to turn her head to see and listen to him, she knew he was right about eating and sleeping. "But how can I?" She responded. "It just doesn't make any sense, how can he not be my dad? I don't even know what it is like to have a dad. I just feel alone." Wiping her years away with some tissues, she sat back, her back resting against the leather couch. Crossing a leg over, both arms crossed themselves against her chest. "I don't even know how to continue this. Do I go on a mission to try and find my real dad? Do I forget about it and try to continue my singing career? I just don't know."
As Mollie gulped, she remembered the times the man who she thought was her father, ignored her and treated her with no respect. It was all becoming clear. Why would he love a child that wasn't his. "I was a good kid, and he couldn't even raise a smile towards me. He just hated me"

Trent couldn't help but feel sorry for Mollie as she was speaking. He could see just how upset all of the recent events had made her. Seeing just how upset she was, he knew that he was going to need more sessions with her than what he had first thought. Trent remained silent so he was able to think over the questions she had asked him. Finally, he turned to face her on the leather couch. "I know it might be hard, but you need to eat and you need to sleep Mollie. You're only going to feel worse than you already do otherwise. Maybe I can get your doctor to give you something to help you sleep." He didn't really know what she would think about what he had suggested, but he had only suggested it because she had told him she had trouble sleeping. "Mollie....only your mother can answer that question for you. Only your mother knows how or why this man is not your father. Still, I am able to understand how you might feel alone. After all, you have believed this man to be your father for your entire life, despite the fact he treated you so terribly." He paused for a moment before he spoke again. "You have friends you can turn to for support, don't you Mollie?" He shifted on the couch a little bit as he watched his patient. "I believe you should do what you feel is best Mollie. If you want to go on a search for your real father, then you should do just that. However, that is a decision only you can make. It really depends on what you feel like doing." He smiled. "You're a great singer, so you are always going to have your singing career. If you go on a search for your father, you have to face up to the possibility that the search could take you years. There's also the possibility he might not want to know you if you do find him. But at the same time, he could also want to find you. I'm not trying to put you off, but this really is something you will need to think about."

Trent leaned back into the leather couch a little bit, making himself slightly more comfortable than before. "I have no doubt you were a good kid Mollie. Unfortunately, you get some men like that. Some men out there find it hard to bond with a child who isn't biologically theirs. They often treat them differently, just like this man did with you. However, there are also men out there who wouldn't treat a child any differently, even if the child wasn't theirs. Some men even love children as if they were their own, even if they weren't the father." He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder a second later. "I'm not trying to upset you Mollie, I'm really not. Anyway, it's his loss if he didn't want to treat you like your sister, it really is. Don't feel too bad about it as he's going to be the one missing out on such a great person." Of course he was saying this to make her feel better, but that didn't mean he didn't mean what he was saying.

He was right, she couldn't deny that at least. No matter what she was going through she had to look after herself in order to survive. "I will get something to eat when I leave here" she replied, liking the way the older gentleman cared for her. "I'd like that, if you could get me some sleeping pills, I think that would help, thanks." Looking at Trent, Mollie felt a little happier and listened to his views and opinions on her life and what she should do about it. "I just kind of want to forget about it and move on. I couldn't really care if I don't talk to my family at all ever again. I know I'm angry at the moment but that is how I feel. Who knows if I will be ready to talk to them again in the future." After talking, she saw his hand come around and place itself gently on her shoulder as though to reassure her. "Thanks" Mollie smiled. "I know this may seem a little forward, but do you want to get something to eat with me?" Mollie didn't know why she asked that, maybe she just liked his company or perhaps it was something deeper. She had always dated older men, possibly looking for a father figure.

He didn't really know if she would like the idea of him suggesting that he should prescribe her some sleeping pills. It was why he was glad when she not only agreed to get something to eat, but also said she'd like some sleeping pills. "You know you don't have to thank me Mollie." He smiled in her direction before he spoke again. "I will call your doctor as soon as we are done here, and I will tell her to give you a prescription for some sleeping pills, okay. After all, you won't be able to focus on anything if you are so tired through lack of sleep." He nodded his head in an understanding manner as he listened to what Mollie had to say about her family. "I think I can understand if you wouldn't want anything more to do with your family, especially after everything they have put you through. I don't think I'd want anything to do with my family if they did anything like they have done to you. You should take your time to decide if you want to talk with your family again." He was hoping she was beginning to feel better now. Trent was surprised at the next question Mollie had asked him. He took a moment to think about it before he responded. With a small smile, he nodded his head. "Sure, I could get something to eat with you. I don't believe I have an appointment with anyone after you anyway. At least not for a few hours."
