The day was a Wednesday, and the time was around 8:30am in the morning. Trent Dawson was still sleeping, but unfortunately for him, he didn’t remain sleeping for long. It was around ten minutes later that his alarm clock finally went off. At first, no movement could be seen from beneath the blankets, but as the alarm clock continued to go off, it wasn’t long before there was finally movement beneath the blankets. A little bit of groaning could be heard coming from beneath the blankets, and a moment or so later, and a hand emerged from beneath the blankets. The hand moved towards the bedside table that stood beside the bed, and as the hand reached the bedside table, it started to fumble around for the alarm clock that was on the bedside table. It took a few moments for the hand to find the alarm clock, and when it did, it started to slam down on the alarm clock in the hope that it would be able to shut off the alarm. No matter how much the hand tried, it just could not shut off the alarm, so in the end, the hand moved away from the alarm clock and the bedside table and moved back underneath the blankets. There, it remained for a moment before the blanket was pushed down to the bottom of the bed.

Slowly, Trent opened up his eyes, and as he did, he yawned a little before sitting up. As he sat up, he swung his legs off the side of his bed and got to his feet. He yawned one more time before rubbing his light blue eyes, and he shook his head before making his way over to his window. Once there, he pulled open his curtains and took a look outside. As he took a look out of his window, he could see that the sky was blue, and there didn’t seem to be a single cloud in the sky. ”Hmm, well at least the weather seems to be okay today.” He muttered to himself before he turned on his heel and made his way over to the closet that was in his room. Stepping in front of his closet, he pulled open the doors and looked inside for what he was going to wear that day. He had a lot of clothes that he liked, so that made it slightly difficult for him to choose just what it was that he wanted to wear. However, his eyes did settle on a certain set of clothes after looking through his closet. The clothes his eyes had come to rest on were a silver and black silky shirt and a pair of blue jeans. He also pulled out a pair of black trainers, and as soon as he had done, he closed up his closet. Afterwards, he walked to a set of drawers that stood beside his closet, and he pulled open the top drawer. After pulling it open, he pulled out a pair of white socks and also a pair of his boxers. He closed up the drawer as soon as he had what he needed, and then he turned and walked from his bedroom.

With his clothes slung over his arm, Trent walked from his bedroom and after turning right, he proceeded to make his way down the hallway, towards the bathroom that was at the end of the hallway. He reached the bathroom a few moments later. Walking into the bathroom, Trent closed the door behind him, and locked it in the process. After doing so, he turned around to face the shower in the left corner of the bathroom. Walking over to it, he set his clothes down on the bathroom counter, and also made sure that there were spare towels ready for him to use. When he could see that there were actually some spare towels, he turned back to the shower, opened up the shower door and reached inside. Trent then pressed the power button to turn the shower on, and then he turned the dial clockwise until the water had reached the desired temperature. He held his hand under the stream of water until he could feel that it was at the right temperature. ”Ah, that’s just about right.” He smiled a little as he pulled his hand out from underneath the stream of water. Afterwards, Trent proceeded to get out of his bed clothes, and then he climbed into the shower. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back slightly, smiling as he did so as he felt the warm stream of water hitting his head and cascading down his body. He opened his eyes a moment later, and he couldn’t help but feel much more alert now that he was in the shower. He always did whenever he had a shower. Trent reached for his favourite Lynx Africa shower gel, and washed himself with it. After rinsing off the shower gel, he proceeded to wash his hair soon afterwards, and then he remained in the shower for a further twenty minutes after he had washed both himself and his hair. Trent always liked to take his time in the shower. Always had done, and it was likely he always would too. When he felt as if he was finally done in the shower, he pressed the power button to turn off the shower, and he waited until the stream of water had stopped before he decided to climb out. After climbing out, he reached for a nearby towel that was on the towel rack, and wrapped it around his waist. With one towel wrapped around his waist, he picked up another towel, and used that one to dry his hair. Trent then walked over to the bathroom window and opened it up wide enough to let in some air into the steam filled bathroom. Turning back around, Trent dried his hair, and as soon as his hair was dry, he threw the wet towel into the laundry basket. He dried the rest of himself off soon afterwards, and after doing so, he got dressed into the clothes that he had managed to pick out for himself earlier. After throwing the second towel into the laundry basket, he turned and walked over to the mirror. He wiped off the steam that had gathered on the mirror, and then he picked up his comb and started to brush through his short blondish brown hair. After doing so, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was quite tall for his age, standing at a height of 6ft2, and because he liked to keep in shape, he also had a muscular build. It didn’t take him too long to get his hair just the way he wanted it, and as soon as he had done just that, he proceeded to make his way from the bathroom.

Once he was out of the bathroom, he made his way back down the hall and down the stairs. After doing so, he walked straight into the kitchen, and proceeded to get himself something for breakfast. Trent got himself a small bowl of cereal and a drink, and he sat down to eat his breakfast. It didn’t really take him too long to finish his breakfast. It took him around ten minutes before he finished, and when he did, he cleared up and put away everything. After doing so, Trent walked out of the kitchen and made his way back upstairs to his bedroom. He had to get a few things from his room, which didn’t take him too long to get. All he really had to get was his phone and his car keys. As soon as he had what he needed, he turned around and walked right back out of his room. Now that he had all that he needed, he headed back down the hallway and stairs, and straight out of the front door. Trent walked over to hisblack and red mustang boss. When he got there, he unlocked the car and climbed in. He started the car soon afterwards, and then shifted his car into gear. Trent pulled out of his driveway and started the journey to his workplace. See, Trent worked as a therapist at a place called Carson House.

The journey to his work place took around fifteen minutes in total. Trent pulled into the parking lot of Carson House, and then he shut off the engine. After doing so, he removed the keys from the ignition, and then he climbed out of his car. Trent locked up his car, and then made his way inside the building. Once he was in the building, he made his way through to his office, passing by a number of patients who were out in the waiting room. When he reached his office, he sat down in his chair behind his desk and picked up his phone after looking through his schedule. Trent dialled the number for the reception just outside. ”Send in my first patient please.” With that said, he put his phone down and then he waited for his first patient to enter. From what he could tell after looking at his schedule, his first patient went by the name of Mollie King.

Mollie was laying in bed. She had been up most of the night as usual, something she had developed over the last few months, finding it hard to close her eyes and fall to sleep. It was starting to affect her career. Mollie was turning up late to studio recordings, forgetting her lyrics to songs and it was bringing down the mood and damaging the atmoshpere. Her close friends and band members, as well as her management team were telling her to seek some help, to help cure the problem. So a few weeks ago, she visited her doctor, who examined her, listened to her problems and decided it was best to seek help with a therapist, believing it may be something psychological. He told her he would refer her to someone he knew, and she could expect a letter of appointment through the post.

Pulling the white covers from herself. Mollie turned her legs to the side and slid out of bed. Her barefeet touching the wooden flooring and helping her to stand as she made her way out of the bedroom and to the kitchen. She was in a standard pair of white cotton panties and a white tank top which hugged her figure well. Making herself a tea, she sat down and wasted twenty minutes of her life staring out of the window until she had finished her drink. Rinsing the cup out in the sink, she left it alone and went to the bathroom. She never ate in the morning, always choosing to skip the most important meal of the day. Clearly she had been sinking in to depression and wasn't looking after herself properly.

Undressing herself, her naked body crept in to the shower, closing the glass door behind it and letting the water hit her face. Mollie had turned it on before she entered, checking the temperature wasn't to hot. The water hit her soft skin, soaking up her blonde hair and giving any part of her still sleeping body a wake up call. Mollie washed her hair using shampoo then covered her body in soap, letting the warm water coat her body and rinse her clean. Stepping out of the shower, she turned off the water and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around her body from the chest downwards. Grabbing another towel, the singer dried her hair with it, not wanting it to drip water on her way back to her bedroom.

Once dried, Mollie put on a pair of red silk panties, a matching bra, and went to her closet, pulling out a white shirt, black trousers and a jumper with various designs. Putting each arm in the sleeves she buttoned up the shirt leaving the very top button open. Pulling her trousers up, they fell short of her ankles, more of a fashion statement then the peice of clothing being to small. Pulling the jumper over her head, she went back to the bathroom and brushed her teeth, forgetting to do it after she showered. She quickly sprayed some deodrant under her arms, lifting up the shirt and jumper to gain access. Walking back to her room, she placed her feet in her shoes and was ready to leave.

Grabbing her phone, she put it in her leather brown bag and took her car keys on her way downstairs. Locking the front door, she unlocked her car and stepped in, closing the door behind her and throwing her bag on to the passenger seat. The place she was to visit was thirty minutes away, and it took exactly that time to get there, her car pulling in to the parking lot and finding a space in the corner. Grabbing her back, Mollie headed inside, checking herself in and waiting to be called. Eventually, the receptionist told her to go through. "Thanks" she replied, lifting her bad up her shoulder and then walking in to the room after knocking first. It was rather large, a giant black couch stood in the middle in front of his desk. "Hi" Mollie said, looking rather nervous as she gave a weak smile. Sitting down in the middle of the sofa, she let her bag down and rested it against her ankle, crossing her legs and letting her hands sit in her lap.

Trent wasn’t really waiting for too long after calling through to the reception to let them know to send through his first patient of the day. In fact, he didn’t really think that he had too many patients today. He didn’t think so anyway. There again, each session was close to being ninety minutes long. Normally, the sessions were around sixty minutes long, but Trent didn’t really think that sixty minutes was long enough. It was why he had increased his sessions by thirty minutes. Sure, thirty minutes might not seem like a lot to increase the sessions by, but in his opinion, it gave his patients just that little bit of extra time to talk about what they needed to talk about. During those additional thirty minutes, his patients were given the chance to talk about anything that would normally have had to wait until the following week if the sessions were simply sixty minutes long. It was a win-win situation in Trent’s mind.

He looked back up to Mollie as she had entered his room and moved over to the couch. Trent flashed her a smile as she sat down on the couch. ”Hello….” He looked down to his schedule to see the name of his first patient. When he saw the name, he turned his attention back to her once more. ”Mollie.” He smiled again before noticing how nervous she appeared to be. ”There’s no need to feel so nervous Mollie. Just remember that you are only here to talk.” Trent spoke in a soft tone as he had said this to her. He was able to understand how she would be feeling nervous. Most of his patients normally felt nervous, even though he couldn’t really understand why they might feel nervous. In his mind, they didn’t really have anything to feel nervous about. Well, he didn’t think they did anyway. ”Just make yourself comfortable Mollie, and we can get started with the session. We’ve got ninety minutes to talk about anything you want to talk about.” He said with a reassuring smile. Of course, he didn’t really know what she was there to talk about, but he was hoping she would open up anyway. After all, he was sure she wouldn’t have booked an appointment with him otherwise.

Mollie moved her hand up and down her crossed leg, trying to calm herself down. His words were comforting, he seemed like he had been in the buisness a long time. Looking around the room, he had won awards and had a number of achievements hung up on the wall. His age, which seemed mid forties to early fifties also gave her comfort, she didn't want to speak to some newly qualified young man. Mollie didn't realise she had a full ninety minutes to talk, thinking it was a rather long time.

"I suppose I had better start with why I am here" she paused. "I've been having trouble sleeping. Over the last few months. I don't know why, it's like my mind won't let me. It's starting to affect everyone around me, and I think I'm becoming depressed because of it."

The truth was, Mollie was already depressed, that was the cause of her sleepless nights. She had never opened up to her friends or family about the situation. She felt being told she was depressed, or admitting she was depressed made her weak, as though she had mental problems. So telling her therapist that she thought she was becoming depressed was a big step, even if it was her first words to him.

It was true that Trent had been in the business of therapy for quite some time now. He had been a therapist for close to twenty years now. Despite the fact he had been a therapist for so long now, he still enjoyed it as much as ever. He was also very proud of the awards and achievements he had picked up over the years, and he had lost count of the amount of patients that he had helped too. The majority of his patients were just normal people, but there had been rare occasions in the past when he would get a celebrity patient. This had only happened once or twice before in the twenty years in which he had been a therapist. It wasn’t something that would happen very often. Trent knew of Mollie’s celebrity status, but that wasn’t what he was focusing on. He wouldn’t be doing his job properly if he focused on that now, would he? She had come to see him for a reason, and that was what he knew he needed to focus on.

That same reassuring smile remained on his face as Mollie had finally started talking. As she had started talking, he pulled out his notebook and pen, and he gradually started to take notes as he normally would with each of his patients. When she was done speaking, he looked back over in her direction before crossing one leg over the other in his chair. ”Hmm, well can you think of anything that happened in the months before you started having trouble sleeping? Did you ever have trouble sleeping before?” He asked in a somewhat curious tone. ”You’ve taken a big step in admitting you feel as if you are becoming depressed Mollie.” He smiled a little bit before jotting something down in his notebook. ”You say it’s like your mind won’t let you sleep.” He started off. ”Do you think that could be due to the fact your mind could be trying to block something out? Is there something you don’t want to remember Mollie?”

It was rather hard for her to hear his questions. He was straight to the point and she knew the answers already, but she didn't want to share them. Going over in her mind, she thought of something that had happened at the time she started having trouble sleeping. It was a piece of information she had found out, something that hit her hard and made her question herself.

"I'm not sure, I can't remember" she lied. Mollie didn't want to say anything, so instead focused on his other questions. "No..No trouble sleeping before, I was a deep sleeper actually, I was never disturbed in my sleep" Mollie held her hands together, linking the fingers with one another on her lap. The blonde's head leaned downwards and she looked at the floor when he mentioned her saying she thought she was becoming depressed. She didn't like it. Mollie was showing conflicted emotions at the moment, part of her wanted to open up and reveal everything, but she was nervous and scared. Wondering what he would think. She would remain closed for the moment, seieng how the session would go. They were only ten minutes in at the moment.

Hearing his last question, she felt she could answer it. "Yes, there is something I don't want to remember Mr Dawson" Mollie said. Her mind casting back again to the moment she found something out.

Trent had gotten used to the fact that many of his patients didn’t feel too comfortable talking about some of their problems. He had also gotten used to the fact that there was going to be certain things that they wouldn’t want to tell him at first. Not that he had a problem with this. It was why he would often get them to book multiple sessions with him, because even if he couldn’t get them to talk about much with him in the first session, he was always sure that they would end up opening up to him eventually. Normally, it was only a matter of time, and it helped that he wasn’t the type of person to push any of his patients to talk about certain things. Sure, he would usually like it if they would open up about why they might feel the way they did, but he just felt that if he pushed them to open up, then it might cause them to do the one thing he wouldn’t want them to do, and that was to clam up completely.

He tilted his head to the side slightly when she told him that she wasn’t sure if she could remember something. There was something telling him that she was holding something back from him, but he decided to say nothing about it. Instead, he just wrote something down in his notebook. He only looked back to her as she told him that she had no trouble sleeping before. ”Hmm, well the fact you had no trouble sleeping before, coupled with the fact you were a deep sleeper leads me to believe that your recent trouble sleeping could quite possibly be linked to whatever it might be that you don’t want to remember .Of course, this is just guesswork, but it makes sense to me.” Trent adjusted his position in his chair, and then he set his notebook and pen down. After doing so, he placed his finger on his chin as he looked straight at Mollie. ”So Mollie, what is it that you don’t want to remember?” He paused for a moment before continuing. ”You don’t have to tell me right away, but you might feel better if you do. You never know, you might even be able to sleep better if you get this off your chest.” He said, offering her another smile.

The smile he offered her made her think he was trying to comfort her. It worked in a way as she thought about telling him. "I was told by a friend about someone I used to know. They told me he has found someone, someone he wants to marry." Mollie rubbed her hands up and down her legs, trying to stay calm and stop herself from getting emotional. "I loved him, but he never loved me back, which broke my heart. So to hear that he is planning on spending the rest of his life with another woman makes me feel like I don't want to live." Placing a finger to her eye, she wiped away what seemed like a tear, although she disguised it rather well to make anyone think otherwise.

As she looked at Trent, Mollie had an idea of what his next question might be. But she wouldn't answer it, she would refuse to. She couldn't tell another living soul who this man was she was crying over. "So since I found that out, I have had trouble sleeping because I can't take my mind off it. I can't help but think about it at every hour."

It felt good to finally tell someone about what was going on which surprised her, but she was still upset. Mollie leant back on to the sofa, her leg crossed over the other. "Can I have some water if you have any please?"

Trent sat and listened as Mollie started talking. He remained silent as she spoke, and he would nod his head every so often and jot a few things down in his notebook. Of course, it was just as he had thought when she had been speaking. He had thought that her problems may have been due to another person, and she only seemed to confirm this for him as she spoke. However, she didn’t appear to tell him just who this person was to her. That was what he really wanted to know, but there was something telling him that she wasn’t going to give him that piece of information. It certainly wasn’t going to stop him from asking her though. After all, he was convinced that she would genuinely feel better if she could just tell him who the person was. Well, that was what he thought anyway. Whether she thought the same thing, he didn’t really know, but he wasn’t going to hold his breath on that one either. Judging by what she had said to him though, he made the assumption that she must have been talking about a former boyfriend. That was what it sounded like to him anyway.

He noticed how she skipped over the question he had asked her about whether there was something that she didn’t want to remember. It seemed as if it was something that she genuinely didn’t want to talk about just yet. Instead, Trent decided to focus on everything else she had said to him. ”Hmm, well things like this happen in life. There are times when you are going to love someone, and they aren’t going to return the feeling. It’s all a part of life Mollie, but you shouldn’t let the fact this man is going to be spending his life with another woman cause you to feel the way you do.” He paused for a moment before he continued speaking once again. ”You may not believe this now Mollie, but you will find someone who will love you the way you will end up loving them. It’s understandable that you have been unable to sleep, especially if this is all you have been thinking about. It might be hard for you, but you need to stop thinking about this man. Maybe you could try something to distract you from thinking about him. That might help you to sleep a little better. You never know.” He offered her another smile before nodding his head in response to her question. ”Sure, you can have some water.” With that said, he pushed out his chair and rose to his feet. Trent walked around his desk to the jug of water he had on his desk. He picked up the jug of water and a glass, and then he filled up the glass. After filling up the glass, he set the jug of water back down, turned on his heel and then he walked over to Mollie as she sat on the couch. When he reached her, he handed her the glass of water. ”Here you go Mollie.” He smiled once more before he turned around and returned to his desk to sit back down.

As Mollie watched Trent lead himself back to his desk, she held the glass of water in her hand and lifted it to her lips. She gulped down a few spills of the liquid before resting it on a table in front of her. It was solid oak, and had some tissues aswell as a note pad and pen. Maybe it was for the patient, or it could have been a spare for the doctor, either way, she found her mind wondering. Casting her mind back to when he was speaking, she started to talk.

"I can't stop thinking about him, I love him, and I won't stop loving him. He just left me, didn't say anything, not a word, didn't even leave a note." As she thought about what she just said, it did seem like she was talking about a boyfriend, which might have caused some problems in the long term. Looking down at her hands, which had taken a tissue from the table, she was shaking a little bit until she looked back up at him.

"I'm not talking about a boyfriend...which is what you might think." She paused, "I'm talking about my father."

After he had made his way back to his desk to sit down, Trent had noticed Mollie glancing down at the pen and note pad that was on the solid oak coffee table in front of her. He smiled a little bit before he spoke. ”That pen and note pad is for you to write down anything if you want to Mollie.” He flashed her another smile before he listened to what she had to say about the guy who he had assumed to be a former boyfriend of hers. After all, it made sense for him to think it was a former boyfriend, especially when he thought about the way in which she had been talking about him. Trent couldn’t really think of anyone else it could have been. It didn’t really occur to him that she could quite possibly have been talking about her father. If anything, that was probably the last thing that he had thought of.

However, when she revealed that she wasn’t talking about a boyfriend, but her father instead, Trent did appear to be a little bit surprised. He nodded his head a little bit before he wrote something down in his note book. After doing so, he turned the focus of his attention back towards Mollie once more. ”Well, it certainly sounded as if you were talking about a former boyfriend of yours Mollie.” He smiled and paused for a moment before he spoke again. ”Have you never told your father how all of this has made you feel? Because it might help for you to do that.” This did make him think for a moment, and Trent shifted his position in his chair as he kept his focus on Mollie. ”Mollie, how long has it been since you last spoke to your father? Have you spoken to him at all since learning of his engagement? And are you sure your trouble with sleeping didn’t start after you learned of his engagement to this woman? Could that be the reason you are having trouble sleeping at night?”

Mollie didn't feel to comfortable after he said he thought she was talking about a former boyfriend. Even the smile he added afterwards made her think that is wasn't something to help calm her, but instead just a habit of his. "I don't talk to my father, I haven't since my childhood. That is how long it has been, so no, I don't think I can tell him how I feel. I would just shout at him, how can he love a stranger and not his own daughter? He would be out drinking until late hours, I would never see him." Holding a tissue to her eyes, Mollie was clearly touching some feelings that had been long buried but were now resurfacing.

It was clear Mollie had never recieved any love from her dad from her younger years until the day she stopped talking to him. He never read to her as a child, helped her with homework or congratulated her when she passed her exams. "I had trouble sleeping since I found out they were to marry."

Trent could see that Mollie didn’t look too comfortable as he had told her that he thought she had been talking about a former boyfriend. He didn’t really mean to make her feel uncomfortable, but that was what it had sounded like to him. Making her feel uncomfortable was the last thing that he had wanted to do. He nodded his head as she told him that she doesn’t talk to her father, and that she hadn’t talked to her father since childhood. Once again, he wrote a few things down in his notebook before he turned the focus of his attention back to her once more. ”I see.” He looked back to her as she spoke, and as he did, it was easy to see just how upset she was getting as she was talking about all of this. ”Do you not think it might do you some good to talk to your father?” He asked her in a curious tone. ”Even if you were to just shout at him and ask him how he couldn’t love you. Have you not thought you might feel better if you were to speak to him just once? Would you consider talking to him over the phone?” He shifted a little bit in his chair before he spoke again. ”Of course, I’m not going to force you to talk to him if you don’t want to. It’s only really a suggestion.”

He lightly tapped his chin with his finger in a somewhat thoughtful manner. ”So, tell me Mollie.” He started off. ”Why do you think you have been having trouble sleeping since finding out your father is to marry this woman?” Trent had a fair idea he knew why she was having trouble sleeping, but he wanted to know what she thought. ”And I know it might be difficult for you to talk about all of this, especially as it seems like you haven’t spoken about any of this with anyone before. Still, it’s good to talk about this, even if you might not think so right now Mollie. It’s best to get all of this out in the open.”

Still, it’s good to talk about this, even if you might not think so right now Mollie. It’s best to get all of this out in the open.”

Mollie didn't want to talk to her father in any circumstances and wouldn't start now just because she was told to. "No I don't think that would do me any good. Even if it was shouting, I can never forgive him for treating me badly." Her tone of voice was quite clear. It was said in a frustrated way as though she had perhaps been told before. In fact, Mollie had been, by her mother. Although that was a different story altogether. She finished her statement by telling him, "no, not even by phone would I talk with him."Mollie was slightly happier knowing it was only a suggestion after hearing him talk and that she wouldn't be forced in to anything.

"I don't like the idea of him making another woman happy if he couldn't make me happy. Why couldn't he do that for his own daughter?"Looking down, her eyes moved like she was thinking about something. She was talking as though her father was more like a partner rather than a relative. Maybe she was unearthing some feelings she had not known before.

For a moment, Trent did think that maybe Mollie may have started to feel better if she considered talking to her father. However, it didn’t take him too long to change his mind as soon as he had heard what she had said in response to his comment. He couldn’t be too sure what exactly it was that her father had done, but one thing was starting to become quite clear. It was starting to become clear as to how much it had affected her. Still, he knew that she wasn’t the first of his patients who had problems with a member of their family, and he was positive that she wasn’t going to be the last either. He knew that there probably wasn’t too much he could do to change the way she felt about her father, but he was hoping that his sessions with her would help her to open up over time, and hopefully help her to feel better too. He would look down to his notebook and then back to her every so often as she spoke. ”Okay, so you don’t wish to talk to your father. If you don’t wish to talk to your father, then that is up to you, but tell me one thing Mollie.” He crossed one leg over the other. ”What is it that your father did to treat you in such a bad manner? Also, do you have other relatives that you are closer to? Other than your father? What about your mother? Or maybe a brother or sister?” He asked in a somewhat curious tone. He didn’t really know anything about her, which was one of the main reasons he was asking in the first place.

Her last comment to him had really made him think. He rubbed his chin with his thumb and his finger, and there was a somewhat thoughtful expression on his face as he glanced over in her direction. Trent wrote a few more things down in his notebook. ”I can’t answer that question for you Mollie. Only your father can answer that question. There could be a number of reasons as to why he couldn’t make you happy Mollie, but I couldn’t give you an exact answer.” He looked back to her, speaking in a soft tone as he had said this to her. ”I am curious about something though.” He started off. ”Is there a specific reason that you don’t like the idea of your father making another woman happy? I understand that you might not like the idea of it because he couldn’t make you happy, but are you sure there is nothing more to it? Other than the fact he couldn’t make you happy, is there any other reason you don’t like the idea of him making another woman happy?” He paused for a moment to allow her time to think over the question. ”If you don’t want to say it out loud Mollie, then write it in the notepad on the table in front of you. Also, don’t feel in a rush to say anything because we still have plenty of time left.”

Mollie looked at him like he was getting to the source of the problem already, and they were only in their first session. "He always liked my older sister, it was like I was a mistake, that he didn't want me. He would always buy her new clothes, new dolls, pay for her driving lessons. He never did anything like that for me. I don't have a great relationship with my sister because of it. I suppose I am jealous of her. The only family member I am close to is my mother. She would stick up for me at times, which would cause arguments between her and my father. I sometimes think I am the reason they split." Mollie was starting to open up that little bit more now, meaning she was starting to make progress.

The singer watched as Trent occassionaly wrote down notes about her and waited for him to ask more questions. "I don't think I need a notepad doctor. I think it is because of my sister, it is the same feeling. I a jealous of this woman. I'm jealous that she will recieve presents from him, that she will get his attention. I wasn't even bad as a daughter, I would do anything he asked of me, and yet he still didn't care."

As he was speaking with Mollie, Trent was beginning to get the feeling that she was going to need quite a few sessions with him. Even though this was only her first session with him, he was able to tell that she had quite a few issues that she needed to deal with. Just how long it was going to take for her to learn to deal with these issues, he didn’t really know. At the same time though, he didn’t really expect to be able to get to the root of any problem with any of his patients after just a few sessions. Trent tapped his pen against his chin a few times as Mollie told him about her older sister, and how her father always liked her older sister more. Just as he had been throughout their session, Trent jotted down a few more things in his notebook. After he had jotted down a few more notes, he turned the focus of his attention back towards her once more. ”I’m sure your father never thought of you as a mistake Mollie.” He started off. ”Why do you think your father may have liked your older sister more?” He asked in a curious tone. ”It’s not uncommon for a parent to have a favourite child Mollie.” He stated. ”Are you on speaking terms with your older sister at all?” He shifted in his chair a little bit before he spoke again. ”Tell me about the relationship you have with your sister now? Do you think you could be closer to your sister? Do you think you would want to be closer to your sister?” He shook his head at her last comment. ”You shouldn’t think that you are the reason your parents split Mollie. I’m sure they had their reasons for splitting as all couples do, but you shouldn’t think of yourself as being the reason for their split.”

Trent kept the focus of his attention fixed on Mollie as she spoke once again. He lightly tapped his chin with his pen once more. His eyes never left her as she spoke, and he thought on what she was saying to him for a few moments. ”Hmm, so you feel as if your father is choosing this woman over you?” He thought on it for a second or so before writing something down in his notebook. After doing so, he returned the focus of his attention to her again. ”I could be wrong Mollie, but it almost sounds as if you are either seeking your father’s approval for some reason, or you are craving his love and affection.” He paused for a few moments to let her think over what he had just said to her. Of course, he didn’t know if he was right or wrong. It was simply a guess based on what she had been saying to him. ”Do you think that could be why you are jealous of this woman? Is it because your father will be giving her the love and affection you feel he never gave you.” He spoke in a curious, yet somewhat soft tone, mainly because he didn’t really want to upset her. ”Mollie, you say you are close to your mother, but have you told her about the way you feel? Does she know how your father is making you feel? Or is this the first time you have told this to anyone?” He asked in that same curious tone as always.

"I dont really like my family. I mean, I love my sister and my mother. But I just don't see how they let my father treat me like he did. It is like that they didn't care because he loved them. This is all too confusing for me, and upsetting." Mollie tried to understand that Trent was trying to help her, knowing she would have to revisit the past to help her with her future, but it seemed to much hassle to deal with. After a short pause she continued, regaining composure. "I speak to my sister, mainly just birthdays and on christmas." A little smile did appear on her face when he told her it wasn't her fault her parents split.

"Of course I want his affection!" Her eyes lit up and stared at the therapist. Wasn't that obvious? Or was it? "I just want to be loved by my father, to be cuddled and told everything is going to be ok. I never had that. Jealous? Of this woman? I guess I am yes. What has she done to deserve his love? Can you tell me that?" Stopping for a moment, the subject turned to her mother. "No...No..I haven't told my mother how I feel. Do you think I should?"

Trent sat and nodded his head as Mollie explained how she didn’t really like her family too much. Of course, he was going to need to spend a few more sessions with her to fully understand the root of her feelings completely. Sure, she had told him that she hated her father for never loving her, but he was positive that there was more to it than that. He was determined to find out what that was exactly, even though he had no idea just how long it was going to take to find out. ”Well, the fact you love your mother and sister is something, don’t you think Mollie?” He said this with a small smile on his face as he looked in her direction. ”Maybe your mother and sister didn’t really know that your father was treating you the way he was.” He leaned forward in his chair, still keeping his attention focused on her. ”Your mother may have been completely unaware of the way your father was treating you, and it is possible that your sister simply may not have noticed you were being treated differently because of everything that she was getting from your father.” He paused for a moment before he spoke again. ”Have you ever considered that?” He asked in a soft, yet somewhat curious tone. ”I can understand that this might be upsetting and confusing for you Mollie. We can stop anytime you want to if it is getting too much.” It came as no surprise to him that she may have been getting upset. Trent usually expected his patients to get upset as they spoke to him. He even thought of it as being strange if they didn’t get upset. A thoughtful expression formed on his face when she told him how often she spoke to her sister. ”I understand how you might not wish to talk to your father, but would you consider talking to your sister on a more regular basis? I’m sure she would be delighted to hear from you more often.”

Trent saw the way Mollie’s eyes had lit up as she had said that she wanted her father’s affection. The more and more she had been talking about her father to him, the more obvious this had become. ”Mollie, you will never be able to gain your father’s affection if you are unwilling to speak to, or see him. Still, I can understand how you just want to be loved, cuddled and told everything is going to be okay by your father. That is something that every daughter wants.” Trent spoke in a soft tone as he shifted in his chair a little bit. ”It makes sense that you would be jealous Mollie, considering this woman is getting something you never got, but no, I can’t tell you what she has done to deserve his love. That’s not a question I can answer. Only your father is capable of answering that question.” The tone he used was soft, but at the same time, it was also quite serious. Trent turned his attention to his notepad and wrote a few more things down. ”I believe it would be a good idea for you to tell your mother how you feel, especially if you haven’t done so already. Like I said before, your mother may have no idea how you feel about all of this. I think it would do you some good to talk to your mother, I really do.”

His voice, it was different now Mollie thought. It was soothing and considered, obviously meaning he had much practice at treading carefully around people's emotions. He was right. She did have to speak more to her sister and mother or risk becoming non-exsistent with them. That was the last thing Mollie would want. She had lost a father and didn't want to lose anything more. "I will call them, when I leave here, set up a date or something, I don't know. Have a coffee, or invite them around my place. Tell them about my father." Now thinking about it, she didn't know what she would say. Would it just be that he didn't love her? That she felt no love? It would sound like someone just crying out for attention. But she had to do it, to see if her family did know anything about it.

"You seem to think that I should talk to my mother about this. Do you think she would know about it? Possibly hiding things from me?" This session seemed to be turning in to an investigation. Mollie's mind thinking she had to go and search for answers and who would be better than her mother. "I dont think I need to talk to my sister yet. I think I should speak with my mother alone. Find out what she has to say. I don't believe she would live in the same house as me and my dad and not notice anything. It doesn't fit."

(My laptop isn't working right now, but I should have it working again soon. I'm having to use my tablet for this.)

Despite the fact she didn't appear to want anything to do with her father, Trent was positive that there was a part of her that still wanted some sort of a relationship with her sister and mother. It was why he had suggested that she should try talking to her sister more often. After all, he was sure that things may have started to get better for her if she spoke to her sister and mother more. He didn't know if he was right or wrong, but he saw no harm in suggesting it to her. His lips did curl up into a smile as he heard what she said in response. He nodded his head as he listened to her, and as she was speaking, he jotted a few notes down in his notepad. Trent turned his attention back to her a second or so later. "I think that would be a really good idea Mollie. I believe it would be good for you to talk properly with your mother and sister if it's not something you've already done. Why don't you invite them round to your place for a coffee? That way, you would be in a place you feel comfortable, and you wouldn't have to worry about being approached by anyone after your autograph, especially since you would be talking to your mother and sister about something so important." He remained silent for a few moments to let her think over what he had said to her. "Don't worry about not knowing what to say to your mother and sister. What you want to say will come to you, and when your mother and sister know what you want to talk to them about, I don't think they will push you into saying anything."

A somewhat thoughtful expression formed on his face at Mollie's next question to him. He lightly tapped his chin with his pen a few times as he thought her question over. Finally, he turned his attention back to her as he set his pen down. "I do think it would be a good idea for you to talk to your mother about this. However, I can't say whether she would have known about what you went through. That is going to have to be something you are going to have to ask her yourself. There's the possibility she may have known, but then there's also the possibility she may not have known. You will have to ask her to find out, and if you feel it would be better to talk to your mother first, then you should do that, but you should also make time to talk to your sister too." Trent shifted in his chair, crossing one leg over the other. "It would seem odd that your mother may not have noticed anything in all of the time that she was with your father, so you must be prepared for some answers you might not like from her. Still, you shouldn't let that put you off from talking to her."

As the session was coming to a close. Mollie felt like a weight had been lifted, her path was more clear than what it was before. Her mind couldn't figure out a way to sort her problems out, but Trent had helped her. The singer would speak with her mother, find out if she knew anything, anything at all about what went on with her father. Once that conversation would be over, Mollie knew she would have to come back to the therapist and discuss what was said. "It seems as though you have helped me out already. I know it is only one session but I feel much better. As for her answers, if she has any, if I don't like them then I will deal with them head on. I have to, otherwise my life won't go forward." Finally seeming like she had control Mollie crossed her leg, sitting more comfortable like she was at ease. Her back sunk in to the back of the sofa, the fabric swallowing her lightly. "Do you think I need to do anything else for now? I know I need to talk to my sister, but I will do that after my mother, if that is ok?"

As Mollie had been talkimg, Trent glanced up to the clock on the wall, and he could see that his time with Mollie would soon be coming to a close. Despite this, he was sure that he would be seeing her again for another session anyway. Well, he was hoping so anyway, mainly because he felt as if she was going to be one of his patients who was going to require more than one session. There again, pretty much all of his patients often required more than one session. However, Trent did have one or two patients who had only required one session. He didn't really know just how many sessions Mollie was going to need, but he would still be there if she decided to come back for more sessions with him. Trent looked back to Mollie with a small smile on his face as she spoke. "Well I'm really glad I've been able to help you already Mollie. That is what I'm here for, and I will still be here if you feel as if you need to see me again after this session. " Trent was glad to see that he was able to get through to Mollie a bit. It made him think some progress had been made, even if it was only their first session. He thought on what she said for a moment before he responded. "I don't believe there is anything else you need to do Mollie. You don't want to do too much too soon. Speaking with your mother to start off with is good, and if you still want to talk with your sister afterwards, then you should do just that. You're right though, as you won't be able to move forward with your life if you are unable to deal with anything your mother or sister might say. Just how do you plan on dealing with anything they might say Mollie?"
