The attack on Alex Jameson had been sudden. She remembered none of it beyond the pain and the boy's wandering hands. All she knew when she woke was that she was naked and alone, bleeding slightly and sore in several places. She had struggled to her feet, stumbling over her shoes and shredded clothes, running from the room in tears, her long brown hair flying back out of golden-brown eyes, her sobbing not easing as she headed towards her personal rooms, dodging several bemused looking tutors and stopping only when she slammed into someone.

She had refused to look up, simply backing away and making to run past him, brought to her knees by a pain that drew a scream from her, her tears evident as she struggled back to her feet, her arms and hands covering all she could, her pain clear as she whimpered, looking frightened and confused. She hadn't wanted this. Any of it. She had always been a shy girl and now... now she was hurting.

"stop Alex!" a familar voice called. it was David, the local computer teacher. before she even had a chance to run again, he grabbed her by her shoulders, draped his long overcoat over her, and pulled her into his arms. "Alex, Alex! you're safe! no one can hurt you now!" he spoke in a calm but loud voice, trying to bring her out of her fear. "It's me, David, tell me please, what happened."

She had stiffened at his touch, whimpering as she fell forwards, her head resting against his shoulders as she sobbed, still trembling. His words had eased her panic for a while before she came still enough to speak, still hiding her face in his shoulder all the same, ashamed of herself. "He... I..." She fell silent, snuffling. "David I..." Her words failed and the words came as a burst. "Stuartattackedme... inclass." She had taken a deep breath then, repeating the words so he could hear them. "Stuart... attacked me... in class." Tears burnt her eyes and she looked down.

at her words, his hands tighened around her, making sure she knew he was here for her. "Don't think about it anymore Alex. He's gone, and when he comes back, i'll have the police take him away. you should feel safe here...no one should be able to harm you here." he spoke kind words, hoping to help her cope with her recent attack. the more relaxed she felt now, the better.

She had snuffled softly, hiding her face in his chest. "I won't feel safe without someone now." She murmured softly, looking up at him with a shy look in her eyes. "Can I stay with you for a few days?" She asked, seemingly scared of being rejected but hopeful all the same. She needed him now. Now more than ever.

"you can stay with as long as you like. i'm here for you Alex." he smiled and brushed a lock of her hair from her face, pulling her closer. "if you would like, we can go and get some clothes for you. stop by your house, get a bag or two. I don't have a spare bed, but i can sleep on the couch."

She smiled sweetly. "You'd do that for me?" The words came sadly, her eyes sliding closed at his touch. "I mean... you'd come with me?" She was shaking even as she smiled, seemingly worried and yet glad that he cared enough about her to offer it.

"of course i would." he replied, smiling back. "you need someone right now. i'd be more than happy to be that person." he reached down, and zipped up the overcoat on her, so her privates were hidden. "come on, let's go." he gently dropped his arms, hooking one of her hands and gently nudging her towards the teacher parking lot exit.

"My hero." Her murmur came softly even as she followed him into the carpark and to his car. She'd always wanted to ride with him but never dared ask.

"where do you live?" he asked, looking at her as he started the car. "would you like to join you inside as well, just in case?" he kept giving her questions, trying to get her to feel she was worth it. she was an amazing woman...he just never dared ask her.

"If you would." She agreed softly, giving her address soon after. She had sat in silence the rest of the way, finding herself calming down simpy just watching him as he drove.

"of course i would." he smiled to her, staring at her as he parked the car infront of her house. "shall we?" he stepped out, and quickly hopped over to hers, helping her from the car, and keeping his hand tightly wrapped around hers.

She had stepped out at the same time he did, feeling safer as he came around to meet her, his hand warm over her own, their fingers linking. She soon headed inside and shut the door behind them, packing quickly before looking around to check what she needed. "I think that's everything..."

"if we forgot anything, we can always come back." he smiled, and picked up her bags. waiting for her to be at his side, he took her things to his car, packed them in the back, and hopped in.

only a few minutes later, they were parked at David's house. smaller, but enough for two. emptying his trunk, he brought her things into his front room and make sure she was close as he shut the door. "i'll show you to the bedroom." he smiled more, and walked her along the hall to his bedroom, and her soon to be safety room. "if you ever feel scared, or in trouble, please, come right to me Alex.." he said, laying her bags at the door.

As he picked up her bags and waited she made her way over to take his arm, letting him lead her out to the car. Once they were on the way she had sneaked a few glances over at him, finding herself feeling all the more relaxed as she watched him. Once they had parked outside of David's house she had climbed out eagerly. She had followed him into the room and settled into step beside him, feeling safer by the second. As they made their way up to the bedroom she had smiled. "You're so kind David." The words were sweet. As he settled her bags at the door she smiled and carried them in, soon unpacking them. "So... you going to stay close until I feel safer?"

Letting her unpack, he kept his same smile aimed at her. "i'll be as close as you want." though it was a horrible time to think of such things, David would love the chance to get close to Alex. He always had trouble with dating, and Alex always made him smile. oh, what he would do to change how this day had started.

Alex had smiled over at him. "Thanks." She spoke sweetly, unable to hide her amusement. Once she was finished unpacking she smiled and came closer to him, gently touching his cheek. "I'm glad you saved me." Her words were soft but clear, her eyes meeting his. "I needed company."

David gently brushed a lock of hair from her eyes, smiling at her eyes. "as long as i'm here...i won't ever let you get hurt.." he said, slowly bringing an arm around her, holding her close to him.

She had smiled softly, resting her head against his shoulder. "I know." The words came easily. She shrugged and let out a small breath. "You smell wonderful." She wasn't kidding, he smelt nice and clean and she found that it was easier to smile now.

"thanks.." he replied, rubbing her back gently as she used him to rest. "i always loved the perfume you used at work..smelling your sweet scent always lifted my mood.." he really shouldn't flirt with her...with what happened, all he could think of was what could make her smile.

She had smiled softly. "You always were good at calming me down." She was speaking softly and sweetly. "You seem to be addicted to making me smile." The words were teasing until she spoke again, her tone warmer now. "I think your very handsome."

he couldn't resist a chuckle at her comment. "it's why i get up in the morning.." at her compliment to him, his arm gently tugged her closer to him. "i'm so glad the most beautiful woman in the world thinks that..." he whispered, wrapping his free arm around her, bringing her in for a tight hug.

"if i were a hero..i would have saved you before he finished..." he frowned slightly, and closed his eyes. "you need a shower or something? is there anything i get you?" he tried to change the subject, bringing her back to the real world.
