It was the middle of the summer, late at night with a full moon rising high into the sky. It was hard to believe that a little more than a year ago, this would mean late night parties and fun get-togethers with close friends. Now the world had practically been torn apart. Monsters that the mortal world believed only existed in fairy tales proved to be just as real as the person in front of them. No one knew how this horrible fate came to be, but one thing was certain: no one was safe.
Most humans had to retreat to secluded areas, some becoming desperate enough to go underground. Others banded together and tried to fight back. When the possessions began and became frighteningly frequent, a united militia was no longer an option. The human population was dwindling fast and the monsters and demons reign supreme.
When humans encounter one of these ghastly creatures, they were either killed or never heard from again. The mortals found themselves distrustful of their own kind, only serving to accelerate their rate to extinction. Some demons of the same "species" tended to form groups of their own, sweeping town after town looking for victims. Among these was the Wolf Pack. Ulrick was the leader of this hoard of Wolf Demons. His lackeys obeyed his every command without question, and they enjoyed the slaughter.
However, as the human population declined so drastically, they found themselves bored. Mortals were becoming hard to find. Furthermore, they were becoming somewhat restless. The Wolf Pack didn't have the luxury of finding female Wolf Demons. They weren't sure if they merely didn't exist or if they were just too difficult to locate. Either way, they were starting to get into a rut, and if they couldn't find females of their own species, they would have to settle for something different.
