Alice frowned slightly. She'd heard Cameron mutter about being 'alone'. Didn't she know that feeling all too well. Honestly, it was almost her mantra... an odd one for a Gryffindor, but how it was nonetheless. Well, for the most part. Briefly, she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes catching sight of Andrew who seemed lost in thought and then over at Tom who just watched her like a snake ready to strike at the first sign of defiance. What was funny was that she also could see the way her boss was looking at her, his eyes roaming her body, almost undressing her as she stood there speaking to her new friend. Feeling a bit uneasy, she suddenly felt that pang... that... pull.
Biting down on her lip, Alice knew exactly what the pull was. She'd been experiencing it for a while now, nearly a year. Ever since... Really, had it been that long. All of a sudden, her hand went up to her neck and began to rub at the pulsing vein as it throbbed with every beat of her heart... beats that were slowly quickening as her mind began to reel and swirl with thoughts full of him and his bite. A dark pact made a year ago ever since he'd covered for her, though why he did it or even if he knew he'd done it she had no idea. But even still. Time had pressed onward and now she was where she was.
Just then, Alice blinked her blue eyes several times, her eyes coming to focus on Cameron as he sat there. "It's nice to meet you too, Cameron," she said offering a smile. "I'm sorry your day went over so badly. Trust me when I say I understand." She looked down at the floor, her hand which had been toying with her neck suddenly dropping to her side.
"Hey!" the scruffy wizard suddenly called out. "You gonna just talk to him all night! There are others here, you know!" He was fuming, her face turning an odd shade of purple.
Alice winced, her eyes looking to Andrew and then to Cameron. Looking at Cameron first, she sighed softly and muttered, "Sometimes I really hate this job." Trying to smile, she then added, "I... I'll see you around? Maybe we can hang out some time." She doubted Cameron would want to be friends with someone like her, but she figured it was worth a shot seeing as they were now both in the same predicament having both seen each other at the Raspberry Swirl. Giving him a wave, she moved to walk past Andrew. She gave him a smile and a nod and whispered. "I'll be fine. I can take care of myself." As she said those words, her thoughts drifted darkly, suddenly pulled by the urge that beckoned and the only one who could quench it.
Swallowing hard, Alice walked past the scruffy wizard, her eyes focused on Tom. The wizard's eyes were wild with fury at being ignored. Immediately, he stood up and grabbed Alice's arm causing her to turn toward him and let out a tiny whimper. Without delay, Tom was by their side and ready to break up the situation. The suave manager snaked his arm around his employee, pulling her close enough that he could drink in the scent of her hair. No doubt she'd reek of his cologne later... UGH!
Thomas looked at the wizard and smirked, "If there's a problem, sir, rather than grabbing, I suggest you bring it up with me." He eyed the wizard harshly, causing the man to stand down and let out a harrumph. When it was clear that he was no longer going to be a problem, he escorted Alice away from the situation and over toward the greeting area. "Perhaps you should take off early, my dear," he said.
Alice tilted her head and arched a brow. Could she possibly be hearing Tom correctly? The man never let anyone go early. Ever. He must have an ulterior motive. However, with it being a school night and the urge beckoning her so... she couldn't be bothered to probe him. Giving him a nod, she smiled. "All right. Thanks, Tom. I appreciate it."
"I know you do," Tom said with a smirk, his eyes looking her over hungrily. "I'll see you Saturday." He gave her a firm slap on the ass as he handed her, her jacket and escorted her out of the Raspberry Swirl.
