"He is nice to you because you can give him children. He cares for you because you are his way of living up to his father. His father that had one child and then never touched his pet again. You really think Alpha would be any different?" He could tell his words were slowly sinking in. He was making her question not only him, but everything she seemed to know. "We do mate for life, we mate OUR kind for life. You are just a pet, a trophy meant to outshine that of his father." He smiled as he leaned against the doorway, getting comfortable now as he crossed his arms, watching her every move. She was strong and he wasn't about to let his guard down.
"My family should have been Alpha, I should have been Alpha." He said in almost a low growl. "Did you ever wonder what would happen if an Alpha bears no predecessor? What would happen if you couldn't bring the next Alpha into the world?" He asked, his voice getting darker, painful as he gave her a history lesson. "My ancestor was an Alpha, back when we were actually something to fear. But when his only sons were human... The pack needed an Alpha so they came together and chose a new Alpha and my family was shunned as unworthy. Heaven forbid the next generation inherent the gift." Aiden's eyes suddenly seemed to burn with poison as he stared at her. "So yes, I would harm an unborn child and prevent Alpha from ever having kids again, if it meant his family could feel the same shame that was brought onto mine!"
