DM: The Merchant tells Balmung and the others that it'll be a few hours while everyone gathers their belongings, and they'd begin travel when the sun goes down. "If you and yours want to come with us, you better not be late," he says sternly.

The party now has 7 hours of free time to act individually.

"Well, I am on a mission to establish trading relations between my tribe and the outside world as we see it. I came here after meeting a strange woman who represents a trading company that wishes to create a contract. Apparently I am to meet a representative here and go to their branch in Daggerfall to handle the details. At least that's what I think she was saying, she was rather cryptic." Ber'nia replies to Paul. "Although I must say I enjoy traveling in general though and meeting new people, so the journey on its own is a good enough reason too."

Ber'nia looks over Paul, actually getting to examine him for the first time.

"What brings you out here, and what exactly are you? I have never seen someone become an animal before."

"I'm a druid, a follower of Kynareth. I've been gifted with ties to nature. I sailed into High Rock about 2 weeks ago. I then received a... message that I should be here, in (Name of town was never given, DM)." Paul is 6'6", 280 pound human, muscular with a tint of dark green to his skin. His sharp eyes are purple, and his hair is black. He wears a simple dark grey silk robe, and a dark grey Monk's Outfit underneath (Loose silk shirt and silk pants tied together with sashes, replace sandals with leather boots). He wears his hair in a simple mid-back ponytail, with a trimmed goatee. A backpack with a sack tied to it is slung over his shoulder, also dark grey. A bright, pure white staff with green runes is held in his right hand. A simple dark blue ring is on his right ring finger.

Balmung looked at the group with sad eyes, though he forced a smile as he started to walk away from the group. "I... My purpose is fulfilled here, is it not?"

"Why do you say that?" Paul asks, curious.

DM: Who are you saying that to?

DM: Call it Adder's Oasis.

(The general group, but more himself.)
"If I stay, bad things will happen. Such is my existence. It's best to not get close." Balmung spoke softly and kindly, making a slight bow, his dirty blonde hair both a bit messy.

"Bad things always happen eventually." Paul replies. "It's how you deal with it that matters. Running away doesn't solve anything. You're a kind man, who can deal with people far better than I."

With that he froze, and turned to look at the other party members, before turning back to him. "It's different when you are the reason it happens in the first place... I have to leave before I do permanent damage.."

Lios: "...." Lios turns away from Balmung "Fine, if you're going to shirk responsibilty like that... Well, that is the easy way out, isn't it?" He sighs. "Ah, and here I was thinking you're a man..." Lios pauses. "Look, these people. They can't defend themselves. Are you really going to leave them be?"

Lios looks off in the distance. North. Where the undead were approaching from. ".... But that's your choice I suppose." He says, beginning to walk back to the Inn.

EDIT: Because the undead are coming from that way, not that they're here.

He just stood there. "I am not a man... I am hardly human... he passed Lios and sighed. "Not that a priest would know what it means to be the 'source of all evil'.." His tone was mixed with anger, sadness, guilt and regret, his mind flowing with the memories of his past- the beatings, the cuts, the burns. Even by those whom he had cherished. But how could he blame them? His very being, as he was told, was the incarnation of all that was evil in this world, and he must live through the pain so that his village can be redeemed. But that was before the blaze. they were all gone now.

"Tell that to my village. If I'm the source of all evil, and I take all there sin, then they can be blameless in the name of their Gods, right? By effect, their souls are pure. But...they all died in a blaze that destroyed my village.. I was the only survivor... To me, that's proof enough.. my presence there eventually killed them all.."

Lios whipped around at the phrase 'sourse of all evil.' He looked angry. And then sad. "I appologize. I did not know of your circumstances... but if you leave a broken chair alone, how can it ever be fixed? How will it ever provide support, comfort, or reprieve?" Lios stared at Balmung's back. "I admit I cannot understand fully what you have experienced... I don't know what it is like to be called 'Evil.' But I do know how it is to be useless. Helpless... Balmung. A great man once said, 'If there is evil in the world, it lurks in the hearts of men.' I do not believe this to be untrue. However, another great man said, 'Evil only triumphs when good men do nothing.' I believe this to be true as well. ... I don't know what it is like to be called 'Evil,' but I know that you aren't it." He extended a hand to Balmung. "Will you come with us? We'll need your strength to guard the caravan." Lios said with a small, hopeful smile.

He nodded, not turning to look at him, still upset. "You have my blade for this endeavor, Lios. I will put my life on the line for these villagers, you, and the others."

Lios drops his hand and turns away again. "Thank you. ...I'm sorry for your loss. But what good will it do, being someone else's evil? There... should be more love in the world, don't you think?" Lios pulls the hood of his robes over his head to hide his solemn face. "... I'll be in the Inn, helping gather extra supplies for the villagers." Then he walked away.

He turned to take his hand. lightly before he left. "Becuase despite everything, I loved my family... I'd like to believe what they did to me won't cause them a horrible eternity... I had a mother, a father, two sisters, and a brother.."

Paul sighs, and mutters to himself. "This is why I have problems with understanding people. In large groups, their Intelligence drops. At least animals just follow their instincts, instead of degrading each other. They also just want food, shelter, and to reproduce."

"So complicated..."

"Being Intelligent."

DM: Okay, because it still works, I'm saying that Balmung's last action happened before Lios'. It fits better that way, and it leaves less chance of party instability. Hooray.

Ber'nia listened to their conversation, a look of shock on her face at Balmung's revelation. After he finishes she quickly moves up next to him and hugs him tightly, crying softly.

"I am so sorry. That must have been terrible." She says, hoping her empathy might help somehow.

After hugging Balmung she looks toward Lios as he walks away. "I should probably go help him. I can carry quite a bit. And I really need something to drink."

He blushed a bit, stunned. "M-Miss Ber'nia.." He smiled a bit, returning the hug lightly. "I-I'm fine, really. You go do what you need to do.. Thank you."
