Just as Trystan dropped out of Phase space however, he noticed a very recent jump signature. A very, very recent jump signature. What would a ship be doing out here in No-Man's land? Unless it was another pirate ship. He sighed, shaking his head, ordering the Jump drives to be given a chance to cool down, switching power to the sub-space engines. Only half of the auto-cannons were switched off, leaving weapons 1, 3, and 5 online, as well as the pulse turret. The tracker scanned the frequencies, searching for the ship they had met earlier on Charon. Was it possible they'd beaten them here, to this relatively safe zone? He sighed, standing slowly, looking around and deciding to go check on his other passengers. He passed Dannika, stopping when he noticed that her fur coat was gone and that most of her skin was now bared. "Hehehe, you know, it's a good thing this ship has central heating the way it does. Otherwise, you'd be wearing that fur coat all the time." He winked at her, turning to his crew and starting to work at his mask, slowly pulling tubes out from their connectors, the hiss of air getting louder and louder before the last tube was disconnected. Then it died entirely. Slowly the mask started to hiss again, although this time it was the hiss of metal against metal. The mask shrank, the metal closing in against itself, and it became obvious that the mask was a collection of metal plates.
That's when the alarms sounded, Illuminati ships appearing out of nowhere, as well as the other ship. For now, he'd call them rebels. He picked up the comms again, chuckling as the atmosphere lightened considerably, just after Danni left the room. "Hehe, ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are once again entering a battle mode, and you may periodically experience a shudder of the ship. That would mean our shields are being hit." He paused in thought before speaking again. "If you feel a large amount of rocking, that means we are taking direct fire, and then it would be a good time to start praying." He chuckled, turning to his crew, letting the intercomm fall silent. "As if they could get through our armor." They chuckled, assuming their stations. All guns were warmed up again, and by the time they entered the fray, the rebels ship had opened fire. As he looked around, he noticed that the twins had gone missing. Interesting.... very very interesting... He shrugged, placing his mask next to the controls before flying in front of the ship, taking a few shots from the Illuminati before turning to bring it's autocannons to bear. The Kodiak's shields glowed a bright blue as it absorbed shots, keeping the cruiser safe from harm before it's guns were ready. And then, all hell broke loose. There was no sound in space, but there was force, and the force of the sustained fire of all six cannons, plus the pulse turrets actually pushed the armored ship back slowly, the hull vibrating madly, but not shaking.
The bullets slammed into the shields, and eventually, into their hulls. They never stood a chance. The tips of the cannon's barrels were red hot, and still rounds flew from them, destroying anything that they fell upon. They didn't have auto targeting. Everything was done by hand. Finally, after there was nothing more then space debris and bodies floating out in the black ocean, Trystan turned his glowing red guns on the rebel's ship, de-arming half of them, this time keeping the even numbers instead of the odd. He nodded at tracker, who nodded back and flicked the switches, homing in on their frequency. Then he paused, looking in the direction the twins had headed off too, sensing something. The thoughts he had made him grin.
Trystan chuckled, rubbing the scarred side of his face that had been previously covered by his mask. "Well, look what we have here? Illuminati must want you something bad to send those ships out here like that. Anywho, if they want you, then that means you did something to them. And that means I like you already." He chuckled, tilting his head, leaning back in his chair. "So, whaddya say? Want our help getting wherever it is that you're going?"
