No Longer Neighbors(Wolvenrogue and XxMoonlightRomancexX)

"Look ... I'm not trying to buy you, or get you drunk and take advantage of you. It isn't like that, but if we cant relax and have fun together, it will never work. That's whats wrong with my marriage now. So lets just have fun tonight. we have a couple weeks. There is time to get to know each other. Plenty of time"

"I don't think you're trying to buy me or get me drunk only to take advantage of me. I can relax and have fun, more so when I'm with you than most people. I may have never been in a serious relationship before, Jonathon, but to me it's common sense what it takes for them to work. I'm more than willing to have fun tonight and worry about getting to know each other in the coming weeks but I need you to promise me that I won't just be sex to you." She said.

"If it turns out that it is just sex after tonight, I'll call it off. I won't string you out for no reason. But right now I just cant commit. I won't string you along , I promise." He wasn't sure how he was going to get back in the mood again. He poured them each a fresh glass of wine. She was a beautiful woman, but at that moment he had lost his desire. It made him sad and he struggled with how to get it back. He sipped his wine and waited for dinner, struggling to think of what to say next.

If Cassie was being honest the idea of them not falling in love with each other or the possibility of tonight just being about sex on his end scared her. From the time she was little and had first met John she knew on some level that he was the one man she wanted to be with and now that she was older, she wasn't afraid to let him know. "Okay, that's all I can ask for." She said softly before looking down and away from him for a few moments. Her eyes then watched as he poured them each a fresh glass of wine, as if he thought that would help get them in the mood again. She didn't touch her glass for several minutes but when she did she lifted it up and sipped at it, the wine beginning to relax her as it effected her. Even as this happened, though she felt somewhat unsure of what to do or say.

"It is really too bad this had to happen this way . We were having so much fun, and I was growing closer to you every minute. Who knows what might have happened, without your asking, But now that you have there is so much pressure. It's like I have requirements to meet. Before it was all about just being kind and doing nice things. I did them because I wanted to. That's what love is you know. Wanting to be nice, Wanting to be commited, not have to promise to do so. I feel like if I don't pass your test, its over." I wanted you to have those nice things and still do. I didn't give them to you expecting anything in return. I thought you felt the same way about me. I'm an old guy . I don't any way deserve a beautiful woman like you. "

Cassie looked across the table at him, into his eyes as she listened to his words, keeping her glass in hand and it raised to her lips as she sipped at it. "I know that you never bought me these things because you thought it would get you a good night in bed or they would somehow buy my affection. I also know that if someone truly loves you they don't do things like remain faithful or love you for the rest of your life simply because they feel bound by a ring on their finger. They do those things because they want to." She said, pausing to take several sips of wine.

"Regardless of if you believe me or not me asking for your word isn't some kind of test, nor is what might take place tonight. Sure, I know where I'd like us to eventually become but I knew what the circumstances were when I agreed to stay the night with you. I know you wanted me to have these nice things and that even now you don't expect anything for them; that you don't even expect them to be returned." She then paused and took a deep breath. "As much as you go on about what love is, though, you forget one thing: Love isn't about what you deserve, it's just about who you happen to feel a physical and emotional connection with on a deep level." She said, contemplating offering to head back to her hotel room, but she knew that suggestion would just upset the two of them more.

" I know that. We are saying the same thing in different ways. Physical attraction is easy, obviously we both have that now. Deep emotional attractions take time, time that I at least havent had yet. Can I promise it will develope? No. The best I can promise is that i hope so. That's where the gamble comes in. It seems to me, that almost anything worth while involves both effort and risk. I willing to make the effort and take te risk if you are." he reached over and took her hand, and kissed it gently. "Can we start over?"

Cassie kept her eyes on him and stayed silent as she listened to him, occasionally sipping at her already half empty glass as she gave John her undivided attention. "I'm not asking you to promise me that you'll love me for the rest of your life, nor am I asking you to propose to me tonight. If you're willing to to take the risk and take the risk, I'll take it too." She said as she lowered the glass from her lips and smiled weakly at him. Then as he reached over and took her free hand she watched as he kissed it gently. "Yes, we can start over." She said as she flashed John a genuine smile, not pulling her hand away from his as he held it.

He didn't release his hand but instead slowly kissed his way up her arn and then standing, kissed his way onto her shoulder , her neck, and eventually met her lips. He sat back down just in time for the waiter to arrive with their dinner.

As he kissed his way up her arm she watched him and began to feel her desire for John grow as she watched him make his way up her arm and to her shoulder before continuing up her neck and finally leaning in and kissing her on the lips. Cassie smiled against his lips and kissed him back before he sat back down. "You sure know how to make a girl feel special." She said with a smile.
