To Reach the Top, A Pokemorph RP (InfectiousMadness X SinsMeow)

Eve nodded as she watched him, rocking back onto her legs and sitting in a squat, peering at the water, watching the fishing pole begin to rock.
"I can, handle it." She nodded again, her expression growing serious as she pondered if she truly was ready. Although she knew her abilities would keep her safe, she was not certain of their extent. It was like most pokemon, experience is what gained new strengths and abilities. However she was young still, and had much to learn about her own unique skill set. Lost in her own thoughts, she nearly missed noticing Kevin was on his feet, reeling in the pokemon who had been teasing the end of the pole. The fur on her back rose slightly from her renewed excitement, and she jumped to her feet, hands clenched as she watched with large eyes. He dragged the pokemon on land, and although she should have assumed to start the attack, she merely watched in fascination. She could understand the magikarp, and knew it was a simple creature just trying to get back to the water. However when it broke free of the hook, and tackled Kevin, something overtook Eve.
The girl's eyes narrowed and dilated as she fell into a crouch, a growl emitting from her chest. Her claws extended she leapt forward, grasping the fish pokemon and with a snarl, tossing it further onto land. She spun, landing back into a crouch. Her chest heaved with the exertion, and her face contorted into a snarl. The pokemon DNA in her system was showing itself as the trigger to protect her master overtook her rational thought. With a lash of her tail Eve stalked forward, half waiting for Kevin's command, half making sure the pokemon did not try to escape again. However the fish pokemon merely flopped around frantically, moving left and right. It was a hard target to follow and Eve was growing tired from leaping back and forth. She glanced at Kevin, and knew he was winded from the slam. Her distraction however was mistimed, and the Magikarp took the opportunity to push off from the earth as strongly as it could, slamming into her side in it's desperate attempts.
Eve yelped with shock, and her lithe form was knocked over, momentarily stunned. She rolled to all fours, gasping for breath. She wanted to just let the pokemon go, she didn't want to cause or endure pain. However, she did not want to let Kevin down. Her fingers clenched the grass and she kicked off from the ground, using the quick attack to ram into the Magikarp shoulder first, knocking it back from the water it had nearly gotten back to. She landed with a stagger in front of it, and growled. She could tell the pokemon was weary, and knew the rest of the struggle was up to Kevin.

Kevin slowly pulled up to his feet, having been a little caught off guard by the sudden strong attack, but he was okay. He only took a moment to climb back to his feet only to see Eve get tackled by the energetic Magikarp, who was using everything it had to get to the water, knowing well that it had been to far from the small cove. Kevin slipped a pokeball out of his pack, and through it off handedly at the Magikarp. He wanted to catch this one, but was just as worried that he had seen her take a hit from the troublesome pokemon, and he wanted to make sure she was doing okay. He moved next to Eve's side, leaning down on one knee, as she was lowered to the ground he spoke softly, "Are you okay? Your not hurt are you"? He knew she had never been in any battle before, maybe some training, but that was not the same, and he could attest to the bony frame being painful, despite the reputation for being weak among pokemon.

Kevin being more intent on her, only changed his look when he noticed the pokeball had gone still the pokemon safely inside. He gave a smile as he looked to her, "You were good, but be ready tomorrow, you have to be ready to act on your own, most pokemon can't do that, it can be an advantage for us". He put his hand on her shoulder as if to tell her he was close, and was feeling kind of tired, wanting to turn in for the night. He held back a yawn, doubting she would not notice it, as he moved over, and picked up the pokeball, sliding it to the clasp on his belt where hers was.

Eve peered at him, and nodded her expression somber. She slunk closer, and smiled faintly as he asked if she was alright.
"Yes.." She mused after a moment. Her ears were starting to droop, the days events starting to get to her despite her nap. She watched as he picked up the pokeball, and slid it on his belt. She knew she could act on her own better than a normal trainers pokemon, yet it still felt odd to her. She wrinkled her nose slightly as the thought crossed her mind but quickly shook it away.

She nudged her head into the crook of his shoulder, mumbling slightly. "You, tired." She muttered, peering upwards at him, her chin still pressed against his body. Standing, she was nearly a head shorter than him, not counting the ears. She gave him a gentle push towards the camp he had set up. It was already dark, and she knew that this was only the begining of their adventure. It had really started to sink in for her, and despite her playful exterior she was starting to get more serious.

(OOC: Sorry for being MIA! I had a lot of stuff come up. I'm back now though!)

((I understand life comes first.))

Kevin smiled as he looked to her, and nodded his head, moving with her toward the camp for a moment. He checked the bedrolls for a moment, sure nothing had gotten into them, he moved to his, remembering with his fishing rod, and pot outside from cooking there was little between the two bedrolls, and blushed sliding into his, so he could turn away from where she would sleep, and banish thoughts in his head. He did not like how he thought about Eve when he got a chance, the feel of her fur against him continuously haunted his mind, and he knew he wanted to be closer to her.

The bedrolls were simple, a small zipper on each side to hold the blanket tight, or to connect them for couples. A simple netting over the top to keep out unwanted critters, or leave it down if you did not mind them. He liked sleeping mostly in the open, being able to see the stars in the sky, and could feel that with night, the air was growing colder than he would have thought. However he just curled tighter in his blanket, and spoke softly, "Goodnight Eve, sleep well..."
