RE: Shipwrecked
As the witch retreated to herself once more, both elf and dwarf who had been watching her nodded to themselves. Aldarras smiled, pleased with both the show of will and strength Teyha had presented by meeting his gaze and defiantly claiming to be more of a challenge than might be supposed as well as the effect he, and his proximity to her, had had by the way she refused even a glancing recognition or acknowledgement to the firmness in the front of his slacks. This will be a most intriguing game.
The Science Officer turned and crossed the short gap to where Kaura and the Captain were. He looked past them at where Newell had the board mostly set up and was in the process of initializing a randomizing program to have the computer deal with the spinning. Although, I think we could have handled that, since I doubt all six of us are playing at once.
As Aldarras approached, he saw Anderson share a moment with the elven maiden. Frank was smiling in that way that told any in the know to beware because something in the universe had boosted his ego even more. "I believe I will be pleased," Anderson was saying, "as well. Even more if you would be happy with my choice after the game."
"Captain, I believe Mr Freeport is ready for us to begin"
"Good, very good."
"How are we setting up the matches?"
"Yeah," chimed in Stonehammer from the other side of the room. Watching the young human witch moving about had been bad enough for the old dwarf, but seeing how gracefull and elegant her body could be when she had slipped and was rescued by Aldarras had taken Stonehammer back to their dalliance in Sickbay and he had groaned to himself at the way his groin had responded.
Can almost smell 'er all over 'gain. And wouldn't I like a taste this time? The Engineer flashed the witch a wide smile, flashing his teeth like the feral predator he could be.
"Quiet you," Anderson told the dwarf. "You're lucky I'm letting you even play. Newell and Aldarras, you're up against the lovely Miss Teyha. So, step to the mat, shoes off, and let's get...hmm...shall we randomize the order or shall we be gentlemen and let the lady go first?"
Newell raised a hand from where he had sat on the floor to remove his shoes. "Why not let her decide? Either she can go first or we can roll off for it." The young pilot/navigator/jack-of-all-trades hoped he would go last in the game. The last person often had an advantage because of seeing how the others were set up. Once the game began, though, he knew they would all be moving silmultaneously and that advantage might turn out badly if the spin was particularly wonky.
Teyha felt a nauseous wave settle over her at the engineers sneer, driving home the resolve to win the competition. At very least she couldn't let herself lose to the dwarf, and become forfeit to his whims. The knowledge that had once already happened, thanks to the still illegal drug, was still painfully clear in her mind, and would not allow her every sexual experience to be taken by that horrid brute of a man!
Nervously she glanced around the room, taking note of each of the men. It dawned on her, as it should have hours ago, that whether or not she won the game tonight she would eventually be taken by one who surrounded her. It was unsettling, sickening, but denying that obvious fact would keep her no safer. As her Elven friend was trying to point out, the game was simply a kinder way to lose herself, so she might blame luck or skill, rather than their rescuers.
For now though, she examined each face in detail, morbidly curious which would be her first. Newell... Likely not. Though he had a kind face that made her want to trust him, she doubted he would have the skill or competitive streak to take down the others on the ship. Like her he seemed more soft spoken, reserved, and quiet, taking an unintentional backseat when compared to the others aboard the ship. It was almost a shame, she thought, he seemed the gentle sort, one who might take it slow and easy, and she wondered whether or not he won if he would force himself on her, or allow her to set the pace, like the gentleman he seemed to be.
The Elf now, Aldarras... He was a definite possibility. While he wasn't outspoken and obnoxious like the Dwarf, he allowed his interests to be very well known, and the ease of grace he displayed made it more than obvious that he possessed the skill to win.
Especially considering who he's paired with! Teyha thought bitterly. She shot the Elf a grouchy look, hazel eyes burning until they locked back onto the flawless, powerful face.
Men shouldn't be so handsome! It's not fair on women! She told herself as the blood rose once again in her cheeks, and she was forced to duck her head in embarrassment, moving on before her assessment was complete.
The captain surely not, the young witch realized with an inward smile. Kaura had already taken a shining to the human, sharing a warm smile and whispered words too soft for her ears to catch. She did gravitate to humans, Teyha reflected.
Indeed the Elf was quite fond of the other species, their more open nature appealed to her like the always dignified Elven ways often did not. She was actually quite fond of both human males, appreciating the differences in their natures. It was because of these differences; however, that she did ultimately decide to move closer to the captain, rather than his subordinate.
It was her first time just it was Teyha's, and however much bravado she pushed into keeping her young friend safe, she still wanted to be able to remember the experience fondly. It seemed the self assured captain might be more suited than the shy and far more timid pilot. And so she flashed the man a smile, sorely tempted to place a gentle kiss on his cheek, if it wouldn't further alienate herself from the other crewmen. "I'm sure I will be." She whispered instead, relieved by the arrangement of the contestants. She was confident that even if Frank couldn't beat Stonehammer, she would... However that went the pairing was decided. For Teyha's team, the victor seemed obvious as well, with the shy witch, timid human, and agile Elf competing against one another.
But Teyha wouldn't easily submit, though her mind was still buzzing with possibilities as well. Instead she busied herself with pulling off her shoes, setting the worn pair aside before standing and stretching, raising her hands high above her head to work out any kinks in her muscles before the competition.
She leaned back with a soft groan, and froze, features twisting painfully slightly as she felt for the first time since the crash a sharp tug in her lower back. It was little wonder that she hadn't noticed the pain before, overwhelmed by the trails of the day. Still, if there was any hope for victory, it seemed lost now. Had the injury had been on her friend, she might have been able to soothe the sprain, but healing oneself was never wise. The inability to see the injury made any attempts to remedy the situation very unwise, without risking the nerves near her spine, or mending the muscle badly.
"I'll go first." She said tightly, ignoring the stiffness in her back as she moved forward to the mat. A little pain wasn't worth a forfeit, she told herself! It didn't matter if winning the game would only delay the inevitable for a day, or serve to soften the blow when it came to her own loss... It didn't even matter that it seemed the, admittingly very alluring, Elf would serve to win. "Please go easy on me..." She whispered to the man as she passed, not quite willing to glance up at his face and risk becoming lost in the light blue abyss of his eyes.
