It was eleven pm and Jacob finally takes the call from his sister. Of course she had probably grown used to that, with his current 'job' he always slept during the daylight hours. His sister was having troubles, and needed a place to stay, he couldn't deny her she was family and would do the same if he was in need. So he accepted without much hesitation and recited her the adress for her to find.

His house was modestly sized, he was always a man to live below his means just incase anything came up. Like having an extra person living in his home for a while. But what he lacked was an extra bedroom, for her to lay her head down. A simple enough matter, his study had been long unused because of his busy life. So he went to work converting it into a bredroom. Moving the bookshelves, and such was an easy task, almost effortless. Strangly so for one man to have them relocated in less than an hour. Even more so that he managed to take apart one of the shelves and design it into a make shift bed frame, it was oak, sturdy and would hold. The mattress he took from his closet it was there when he moved in, and would do until he could find her a new one. It was a rather bland being a study once before, but he was sure she could liven it up to her liking.

Just peeking into thirty, strangly enough he didn't look much different from that day seven years ago when they last saw eachother. Yet he also looked dramatically differen't at the same time. Age hasn't seemed to touch him, but his skin took a dramatic turn to the pale side, and he had a subtle glow about him, like he always stood under a florescent light. But that just seemed to make his dark hair and hazel hues stand out all the more. His hair was longer, tied back into a ponytail and the dark goatee on his chin reamined neatly trimmed. Upon a closer look, he appeared more toned as well, when he used to be on the chubby side seven years ago.

Emily finally heard back from her brother around eleven o’clock. She had missed her brother but new he worked late in the evenings digging graves and such, or so she was told. Emily was having trouble with her work she had been laid off of work, her and several others thanks to budget cuts, she was unable to pay her rent, and other bills, food was even becoming had to come by on top of that her abusive boyfriend had who had beaten on her, had cheated on her, then dumped her. Emily had nowhere to turn but to her brother, she hated bothering him, but if she wasn’t in such need she wouldn’t have asked. Emily wrote down his address and pack what little she had, and drove to find her brother.

Emily was all grown up; she was now twenty-six years old, being three years younger than her brother. Emily had curves that she didn’t have before, she was more of an hour glass figure now that she had grown into her body, being nineteen, when she last saw her brother. Her skin was light and fare, her eyes were blue which varied in shades. Emily’s hair was down to her shoulders, it had light curls to it, and her hair was a reddish-brown tone.

Emily continued to drive looking for his house. When she finally found it she smiled, softly. Taking a breath she sighed, it had been so long since she’s seen her brother, she couldn’t wait to see him, they had been so close as children. Emily pulled into his driveway, parked the car sitting there for a minute, before getting out with her two luggage rollers. She approached the door, she was wearing her black form fitting wrap around, with sandals. Once at the door she gently knocked upon it.

Jacob pondered how her reaction would be to him, he knew any mental picture she had of him would not be this. But he was sure it wouldn't be too big of a barrier between them, they were very close after all. While he contemplated this quandry he heard the knock upon the door. He knew it was one of two people, but most likely his sister. Walking to the door he opened it up. " It is good to see you,Emily. the years have been gracious"

He said offering her a hug. She had blossomed into a woman quite well, that was for sure

Emily smiled as the door opened, she dropped her things. She looked at him, he looked so differnet. He didn't have the goatee, and his hair had grown out. His skin was pale but toned. She was speachless she wasn't sure that she had the right house. She looked into his eyes, they seemed he same, though he was going on thirty he looked young, as if he hadn't grown old in the past seven years. "Jacob?" She asked softly wanting to just make sure she was in the right area, and the right house with the right person. Granted she followed the directions to the tee. Emily went straight to his arms as he offered herr a hug, she took it, wrapping her arms around him. "You've changed...It's so good to see you."

"Yeah I haven't been getting a lot of sunlight the past few years thanks to my job" To be honest, he should state none at all. But he wasn't going to give too many hints on what happened on the day they parted ways. Once they parted from the hug, without asking he took the luggage rollers and began to walk into the house. "Do come in and make yourself comfortable. I shall show you to your room later" He said while taking the luggage to the formor study. His house was very neat, which was odd for Jacob used to be very unorganized in his younger days.

"I can see that." She stated smiling she was so happy to see him again. Once the hug ended she saw him grab her bags, "Thank you. Alright Jacob." She stated she walked into the neat house hold, now something was wrong Jacob was never really organized when he was younger, but his house was spotless. Emily sat down on the couch and waited for her brother to return.

Jacob of course always liked to accomdate guests with a beverage. But with his current condition he really didn't have much for libations and food. But he managed to keep just a bit around just incase a frequent visitor brought a friend along. Out he came with a glass of ice water and placed it on a coaster on the coffee table for Emily "Now is everything alright?"

"Thank you Jacob," She stated as he set the drink down. "How do you mean?" She asked couriously unsure if he meant with what has recently happened or with her now staying with him. "I want to thank you again Jacob for letting me stay here, untill I get back on my feet."

"You haven't told me much of what is going on over the phone. I was just hoping no one was trying to hurt you." If they were he could find them easily and take them out. And the amount of time it would take would be like a trip to the store around the corner. But he did not want to think on such things. "IT is quite alright, we are family. I am obligated to help if you are in need"

"Oh right I'm sorry, my minds just scattered." She staed forgetting she didn't fill him in on everything. "Well..not now...not anymore..." She stated to someone hurting her. "Let's start at the beginning. Zach my ex, he had moved in with me to help pay the bills and such...everything was fine, but then he became mean and nasty. He stopped helping me with bills, he was always drunk...I tried to break up with him but he wouldn't take no for an answer. He threw a beer bottle at me one evening...see?" She started then stopped to show the cut on her head by her hair line the doctors did a good job hiding it. "It shatterand cut me, I've had various other wounds, he broke my hand once as I was trying to dump his beer. Brusies and cuts and such, but he knew not to damage my face. following all of this work had laid me off , me and several others thanks to budget cuts. I couldn't pay my bills or my rent, so I lost the house. Food was getting harder to buy. Then Zach had cheated on me, and dumped me. So..that's everything thing in a nut sheel Jacob." Emily explained everything to him.

He quivered with rage hearing her story, but he knew he had to remain calm around her. No use showing off the reason for all the changes he had been through. He breathed deep, to let that bit of rage subside. But an observent one could see that his canine teeth were a bit long than they should be. "That bastard..." He finally managed to say as he prevented other features from showing.

Emily saw his teeth his canines looked a bit long and rather sharp, but she didn't think much of it. "Yeah but it's over now..." She brought her hand to her stomach a habit she had grown to do, from her accident. "That wasn't the worst of it either...Zach had raped me on occasion...I'd tell him no but it was as he didn't know the word...One particular time I had concived...but as soon as he found out half way through my pregnancy...He pushed me down the stairs...He made me lose my child." She began to lightly cry still not having gotten over it. "He said it I hadn't been so cumpsy I wouldn't have fallen...for a while I believed him..."

Jacob wrapped his arms around her in a hug to try an comfort her. Also to keep himself from exploding at the moment. This, Zach, who ever was was infuritated him greatly. If he knew what the man even looked like the man would be food for some of his friends already. But he had to contain himself, he didn't want to show this side to his sister, she had already been through enough. He didn't want to have to tell her that her brother also technically died the last time they saw eachother. His hug was almost a little too tight though of course he was always protective of family.

Emily cuddled into her brother missing his embrace, this wasn't really how she wanted to start off with her brother, but it came up with what had happened, and she felt it best to get it out of the way now. His hug was tight but she didn't mind she knew he had always been over protective of the family. She found his hug comforting, she needed it. "I'm sorry..." She stated through a sob, sorry for starting out like this.

Jacob shook his head, his hand coming up to gently strok her hair as he heard her sob. That moment did calm him, bringing back memories of when they were younger. Whenever she was distressed they always wound up in the same embrace, stroking her hair to calm her. "Don't worry you are safe here"

She laid her head upon his chest as he stroked her hair. She missed this embrace she longed for it for the past seven years. She cuddled into his loving embrace. She might have grown into a woman but she was still a lost little child.

Jacob smiled, glad he was able to bring her at least a moment's comfort of the pain in her life. He continued to stroke her hair, lovingly , brushing it away from her eyes. "And don't worry about finding a job right away, I have no trouble supporting you"

Emily smiled once more as he continued to stroke her hair. "Jacob...I don't want to impose.." She stated She didn't want to take advantage of his hospitality. "I just can't believe I've lost everything, I was doing so well."

Jacob smiled and shook his head "I always live under my means just in case things like this happens. I can support you for months no problem" He said in return. Which was another odd change, he was always terrible with money

Emily smiled at him, "Alright, Thank you Jacob...If there is anything I can ever do for you, don't be afraid to ask." She stated she finally syopped crying. "Next order of Business, who are you and what have you done with my brother?" She teased there was just so many chages, to get used to.

He smiled and shook his head head simply. "Dont worry about about, just take it as me making up for all those phonecalls I missed." He said before chuckling in response to her next comment. "I'm still me, but kind of had crash course with living out on my own. And this is the result of it"

She smiled at him "Alright..fair deal then." She stated over the years he had missed quite a few calls. She giggled with him when her laughed about her comment. "I see...I kinda like it...It's a little knew for me to see you like such, I'm sure I'll get used to it." she replied.

"Well I'm glad someone approves. I don't get much of a social life to see if anyone notices." He lied once more, he hated lieing so much to her. But he disn't really know how his sister would take the fact that her brother is now what she probably considered a fairy tail Creature.

Emily smiled at him, "Well we'll need to change your social life a little." She teased, finding it odd for her brother, not having a social life. "Hey Jacob...It's getting rather late, I'm kinda tired...Would you mind showing me where I will be staying?" She asked wanting to get some rest.

Jacob nodded and looked at the time. "Yes this would be the time normal people would go to bed" He chuckled lightly as he stood up and took his sister's hand to lead her to the once study room. "I'm sorry it's not much"
