"Now would I know if they would be willing to offer more than myself... Besides, I have no interest in letting the other hives know about the existence of a viable male human," the queen bee shrugged, "Any hive which obtains a male is able to grow significantly, whereas currently many hives are slowly shrinking due to the workers passing away from old age or disease. The exact rate of growth is dependent on how fertile the queen and the human are, and how compatible they are on a basic level."
The queen was willing to play along for now, knowing full well what the ship's intentions were but unwilling to directly oppose it, at least at this time... She would let the Grizzly do all the hard work for her, and possibly snatch him away afterward should the opportunity present itself. She had no intention of letting things continue as they were currently, but she too had patience... The patience to move when the situation turned in her favor was one of her strong points.
Meanwhile, the Grizzly led the ship along into the thick forest, walking through thick groves and past forest streams as the ground started to become more hilly and rocky. Her pace never slowed, however, with the increased difficulty of the terrain as she was actually very fit despite her appearance. In her youth she would train herself constantly, as survival for a large creature such as herself depended on her physical strength and endurance. Defending cubs was an important task, and she had to be prepared when the time came. She had never imagined that she would raise a human boy, however, but she had agreed to the deal so she would stick to it.
Eventually, the Grizzly showed him to a small clearing in the forest in front of a large rock outcropping, in the side of which was a cave. The opening appeared somewhat narrow, but she assured Adam that it was much larger once they stepped inside. Once they walked past the dim opening to the cave, a cool, relaxing scent filled the air as the cave suddenly opened up in all directions. A large bed made of animal skins sewn together stood in the far back of the single room, with a chest beside it which most likely contained medical supplies such as bandages and such. beside the bed stood a large jar, most likely containing the honey that she was so fond of eating, nearby racks of dried meat wrapped up into packages for her to take along on walks. The light which illuminated the entire room came from a small hole far above them in the dome-shaped ceiling.
"What's mine is yours," the grizzly grinned and sat down heavily upon her bed, "Make yourself at home, Adam. the only rules I have is that you don't leave the cave without telling me first, and that you shouldn't wake me up when I am sleeping since I can be a bit grumpy. Other than that, feel free to have fun, relax, and enjoy yourself."
She finally took a good look at the boy, remarking, "I can train you if you like. Your body seems a bit frail."
