Nature's Fury

"no, I promise, its not the bad wizard. It's monica. She's come to help us with the wolves."He said smiling softly as he shifted to damia could see monica, looking at monica, glad that even with monica's bad ass attitude, she was small.Surely that would make damia feel safer.Smiling slightly as he cuddled damia back, cinna pressed a kiss to damia's hair as he looked at monica, gently stroking damia's hair."She showed up on my front porch in the storm last night. I couldn't leave her out there."he said tilting his head towards the winter wasteland outside before shifting to look down at damia,"Come on sweetheart.Lets get you bundled up in some warm clothes, then we'll go help monica take care of the wolves."He said soothingly, gently nudging her towards the stairs.

Damia nodded a little, swallowing thickly as she snuggled into the girl, Monica gaping at Cinna as he explained where the girl had come from, but said nothing as she watched Damia get nudged upstairs for warmer outside clothes, shaking her head with a small sigh as she ran her hand through her hair. now, Monica had no feelings for Cinna, being that she liked girls, but she loved him like a brother, and she didn't want this... strange girl to hurt him, not even by accident... but it seamed more like the poor young girl was about to get hurt by something far worse than rowdy hunters. Damia came back downstairs, looking a bit more calm and relaxed and hesitated when she caught sight of Monica, eying her up warily. "... do the Wolves have babies yet?" she asked, curious and hopeful and Monica smiled and shook her head. "no, breeding season is over, all the pups are about half grown and they've started learning how to hunt." she admitted beaming at Cinna as she held up the first tracking collar. "look! isn't it wonderful! now we'll always know where the wolves are!" "... what's that!?" Damia asked looking curious. "it's a tracking collar." she explained smiling as the girl seamed to warm up to her a little. "you put it around an animals neck, like this." she strapped it to her own neck. "and it shows us where they are on this screen." she indicated the briefcase where there was a GPS Map of the entire wolf territory. "and using this video camera." she indicated a line of smaller screens. "you can see what their doing so we can learn their habits." she admitted smiling at Damia. "it doesn't even bother the wolves, they can't pull it off, but if it get's stuck on a limb, it breaks open so the wolf doesn't get choked." "...that's so cool!" Damia practically shrieked, looking at the screen with wide eyes.

Cinna grinned a little as he pulled on his own jacket, the fur brushing against his cheek, and a matching if slightly smaller jacket was on damia. Having just wrapped her up in his own to small clothes.Looking curious as he listened to monica explain, tilting his head slightly. It'll make it easier to track if they get...killed by the hunters, then we'll be able to track the hunters to. Since it'll give us a area to look."He nodded a little looking interested because while he hoped the hunters would leave them alone, he could see where it would come in handy in case something when wrong."Like a cat's safe collar. It'll break the moment it causes stress."He said sighing softly running his hands through his hair, nudging them both towards the door."Come on.Let's go.If we get a early enough start, we'll get the pups near the den, with most of the pack around. It'll make collaring them easier."He said looking worried, and wanting to make sure that they got the most details on the wolves that they could.

Damia smiled as she snuggled into the fur coat, uncertain if it was real fur or not but certain that Cinna wouldn't just skin an animal for it's fur. Monica nodded as well. "yes, a hood area to look, i'm tired of showing up at the Den and seeing Wolves missing." she growled and grumbled as she packed everything back into her briefcase and grunted as she lifted it off the table, Damia giggling a little as she hid her face in Cinna's chest shyly as Damia grinned at her as they piled into the car, Damia looking hesitant as she let Monica help her buckle up, her eyes flicking around the strange metal contraption nervously. she knew what it was, how it worked, but she also knew how many human lives where snuffed out because of these things, it would make anyone nervous. they made it to the woods without any problems though and she eagerly jumped out into the woods and immediately relaxed completely, closing her eyes as she took a long deep inhale as if trying to taste the air. she looked so at home there in the middle of the trees and the moss that Monica was gaping at her. "... Cinna... i'm not so sure that girl is entirely human..."

"Ah, but you shoud be used to showing up late somewhere."He teased because it was almost impossible for monica to show up somewhere on timeSmiling as he helped damia into the car, buckling himself in, reaching down and wrapping his fingers around damia's so that she would relax, gently stroking her skin."Shh, its okay."He muttered pressing a kiss to her hair as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, leaning back as monica drived. Laughing softly as damia headed into the woods before looking startled, looking at monica."What else would she be?She's just happy to be outdoors."he said looking interested before he wondered what the other was thinking, smiling softly as he watched damia get used to the outdoors again.

Monica snorted a little and rolled her eyes. "oh shut up! i was on time!...." she glanced at the clock and grimaced. "... or not..." she muttered smiling as Damia relaxed at his touch, her head tilted as she studied the strange woman, shaking her head a little as she watched the woman flit around the tree's, laughing happily. "i don't know what she is... but she's not human." she stated simply as she watched Damia, a butterfly landing on the woman's head and a squirrel landed on her shoulder, Damia giggling as she stroked the squirrels head, Monica lifting an eyebrow at Cinna. "... have you ever seen wild animals simply be pet by a human Cinna?... i'm telling you, she feels... different..." she admitted softly, shaking her head as she watched Damia turn to the direction of the Wolves, hearing their Howls. the Howls of glee at the return of a lost pack mate... but no Wolves had recently gone missing, so who where they welcoming home?

Cinna frowned watcing Damia, shaking his head before smirking. "It snow white."he said, in such seriousness that it would take a moment to realize that he was easing the woman. Smiling slightly as he watched damia look towards the howls, frowning softly."They sound...joyful."He said sounding concerned, even at the happy sound, he wondered what could have happened to make them sound so excited about having a missing member gone."..have you heard them like that before?"He asked looking up at monica.

Monica scowled at him. "that isn't REAL!" she complained before smacking herself in the head as she realized he was teasing her. "seriously Cinna! don't make fun! this girl... she's dangerous... no.." she frowned, studying Damia. "there's danger attached to her..." Monica was rarely wrong about such things. "please, just be careful..." she ordered before paused, listening to the howls. "... once, only once... after we took Rex to the Vet because of his broken leg and took him back after a month, they howled like that remember?" she asked swallowing thickly. "they shouldn't be howling like that... all the missing wolves from this area are accounted for, most of them dead..." she admitted watching as Damia stood, her eyes alight with wonder before she started to run towards the sounds. "Damia no!!!" Monica ordered, horrified. you didn't just run out into a wolf Pack, never EVER, they'd attack you, she was frozen for a moment, and then she took off after Damia, intending on protecting her.

"btu you make it so easy to make fun of you."He said snickering a little, looking amused. Frowning a little as he watched the other, nodding."I'll be careful."he said looking worried because monica was rarely wrong, but he just couldn't leave damia to her own thing. "Oh yea."Cinna said nodding looking worried about that because it hurt to consider what they were howling about. Worried that one of the pups had been lost. Yeleping as damia ran, running after her before stumbling to a stop as they neared the den, grabbing monia's arm to stop her as they watched damia run into the alpha and his mate."Stop.They're not attacking her."He said looking amazed at that, before a gentle smile turned his lips as he looked at the wolves crowding around damia, all looking like overeager puppies demanding attention.

Monica gaped in astonishment as she watched Damia run out into the Wolves, falling to her knees as she nuzzled and cuddled the wolves, all of them howling happily, rejoicing her 'return'. the Wolves knew exactly who she was, recognized her from living in the wild for all of their lives. she cradled them as puppies, her energy giving them strength as they suckled on the teats of their mothers. yes, they knew she was The Life Bringer, the Moon Riser, the Great Changing. she was everything t them, their world, and true her shape was different, they knew her all the same and took her in as one of their own without even thinking about it. the young woman laughed as she was licked all over, and she cuddled and cradled them before looking over at Cinna and Monica, beaming at them, Monica making a strange noise as she fell to her knees, shocked. both relieved that Damia hadn't been hurt, and horrified that the girl had been so stupid. "they treat her like she's one of theirs... it's not possible, not right, not natural..." poor Monica just couldn't make sense of what she was seeing.

Cinna stared, his mouth hanging open because he couldn't form the words."Oh. Wow..."He muttered looking so amazed because he had no idea what to tell her. It was so odd, but he couldn't believe what was happening."Damia? Can we come closer?"He asked sounding brave, wanting to be accepted by the wolves, but not wanting to approach because he didn't know if whatever was protecting his girl would let him move among the wolves without being harmed to.

Monica swallowed thickly as Damia turned and smiled at them. "it's ok, they know you." she promised. yes the wolves did know the two researchers, it had taken almost three years to gain the wolves trust enough to be able to go into the pack freely. Monica hesitantly got to her feet and headed out and the wolves split away from the over exuberant greeting of Damia to rub against Cinna and Monica the way they always did before returning to their normal lives, Damia giggling as the few year old pups continued to leap around her, wanting her to play as she got up and ran around with the wolves who barked and howled eagerly as they ran around the clearing with her. it was a very interesting thing to see, this Wild Woman, playing with Wolves they all knew she had never seen before. Monica was right, Damia was something, but it certainly wasn't human. "... tell me again how you found her?" Monica ordered, her voice nearly breathless with Awe. "...i think she's something very important Cinna..."

Cinna looked breathless with wondering as the wolves rubbed up against them, smiling as he watched them bound around damia.Smiling gently because it made his heart feel light just watching them act like that. There was something special about her. "She showed up on my front porch, running away from someone. I don't know how she got there, only that she had."He said looking slightly concerned because he didn't know what to think about damia's connection with nature, he only knew that he didn't want to let her go.

Monica scowled a little and shook her head as she stood up and smiled as she gently stroked a Wolfs head as it sat down next to them to watch the pups playing, they always had a guard/babysitter on duty with the younger wolves. "we should collar all the young ones first." Monica decided, leaping straight into business because thinking about Damia was making her head hurt. "Damia! can you bring them over here? were going to collar them now." Damia beamed and skipped over, and helped collar all the young ones, who didn't give a care at all, they just let themselves be collared and raced off. the adults didn't much care for it but they settled down once they realized the collars weren't hurting them. "we should go back... and talk to her. she'll know who she is i'm sure." Monica decided as she watched the woman calm the adult wolves.

inna grinned at that, helping the two girls collar them, looking at monica."You know, she's making this much easier to collar them."He said grinning as he realized their trust of damia meant that they seemed to trust them to not hurt them. Looking worried before nodding slightly, "Damia. Its getting late. We have to be heading back home."He said looking at the woman in curiousity, worried about what damia would tell them, because he had no idea what to think of her connection to the earth.

Monica nodded. "i did notice that." she admitted frowning a little as she shook her head, Damia pouting. "do we have to go now?" she asked blinking at Cinna before sighing as she followed him back to the truck, yawning loudly once she got there, making Monica grin. "are you tired Damia?" she asked, looking amused as the fair haired beauty nodded. "ahuh... tired." she admitted smiling happily. "the Wolves where fun, they like you Monica... they said your a Great Healing Goddess... you take them away, and when they go back their all better." Monica was a Vet, so she often took away the sick and injured Wolves, patched them back up, and then took them back to the Den. this had happened so often that the sick and hurt wolves just waited there for her now. "oh... well i.. i'm glad they aren't afraid of me at least." she admitted with a small grin and a shake of her head. "come on, we'll get you home and into bed..." she promised as Damia yawned again.

Cinna smiled as she wrapped his arms around damia, gently picking her up, pressing a kiss to her hair."Come on. We'll go home and you can sleep."He said smiling as he climbed into the truck, settling in the seat as he strked her hair. Laughing softly as her words."Don't feed her ego.She already thinks she's a goddess."he teased kissing damia's head glad that the wolves didn't fear them. Or at least monica. "What about me, damia?Did they say anything?"He said pouting ever so slightly because he wanted to be a good guy to the wolves to, feeling slightly jealous that monica got her own special place for them.

she giggled a little and snuggled into him as he picked her up, Monica chuckling a little. "i AM a goddess!" Monica purred pleased with herself as the woman giggled. "they like you too." she admitted smiling at Cinna. "they think your really good to climb on, your a good Puppy sitter." she admitted beaming at him Monica looking startled. only the most trusted of wolves got pup sitting duties. "really? they trust him that much?" "yes." Damia admitted snuggling into him as Monica drove them back home, the blue haired woman falling asleep before they where even halfway home, sleeping peacefully Monica chuckling a little. "she's kind of sweet isn't she?" the woman asked smiling a little. "like a baby sister..."

"You are not. Your delusional."Cinna said snickering a little at monica's assurtion that she was a goddess. "oh...wow..."he said blushing hard, smiling a little, loking so pleased about being a puppy sitter. While it wasn't a godhood, he was proud to think that he was a trusted member of their pack."She is."He said startled out of his thoughts by monica's words, pressing a kiss to damia's head, looking over at her with a smile."Though I don't think I would feel this way about a baby sister."he said snickering a little.

Monica snickered a little and shook her head a little. "delusionally awesome!" she teased grinning a little as she shook her head again, watching him. "your in love with here aren't you Cinna?" she asked scowling at him. "you pervert!" she teased playfully giggling as Damia shifted. "Monica?... What's a pervert?" the girl asked blinking at the woman who paused, lookign startled. "... you know... a sexual deviant, someone who wants sex all the time... he's not REALLY a..." "what's sex?" Monica stared at her, those innocent blue eyes confused and baffled and Monica damn near drove off the road in her shock. "your... your joking right!?... EVERYONE Knows what sex is!" she complained Damia shrugging a little. "i'm sorry.... but.. i don't..." Monica had to hesitate and then she chuckled. "i'll tell you when we get home." she promised calmly. Damia nodded and settled back to sleep against Cinna as Monica stared at the road. "doesn't know about sex... good lord she has to be at least twenty.... how can she not know about sex!?"

"Yes."He muttered resting his cheek on damia's head, blushing hard at monica's words and damia's question."You're going to have to tell her. I'm not trying to explain.I'll sound like a idiot in front of the girl I like. So much better if you do it."Cinna said grinning at her, smiling as he watched out the window."Well, if she's lived nowhere near other people, she wouldn't know what it was."He mused thoough he sounded concerned to, he was worried a little about what damia didn't know.

Monica laughed a little and shook her head. "of course i'm going to explain you'll mess it up!" she complained simply, shaking her head chuckling a little before frowning a little as she contemplated it. "do you suppose she's from one of those places where they live out in the woods? and they don't have electricity or modern things and stuff? like, a cult or something..." she mused scowling a little as she licked her lips nervously. "you said she was running away from someone?... what if she was kidnapped from one of those weird cults?" she asked softly. "she's certainly pretty enough to be kidnapped, and she's so innocent..."

"I would not!I just don't want to explain it."Cinna said pouting a little before looking thoughtful."Maybe. That would make sense. if she was used to living in teh woods, the animals would sense that."He said frowning, disliking the idea of that because it meant they were going to have problems as soon as the people that kidnapped damia realized that there weas only one real house that she could be hiding in.After all there werent that many people in a russian tundra, it make tracking people easy, but hiding harder

she nodded a little. "we might consider moving base... if someone is hunting her then their going to know almost exactly where to look..." she admitted turning to look at him. "we could go to my house, it's more protected." she admitted shaking her head a little. "and it's more woody where i am, she might feel more comfortable there as well." she admitted glancing down at Damia, frowning a little. "we can't let people take her, or hurt her." she scowled a little. Monica had few freinds... ok she only had one friend and that was Cinna, but once she liked you she was so possessively protective that someone even so much as bad mouthed Cinna near her and she was on them with a fury that matched the wild animals she protected.

Cinna nodded looking worried before nodding,"We'll go to your house. It'd probably be best. I'm in the middle of nowhere, but the house stands out like a sore thumb."He said sighing a little before getting out of the truck as she parked, picking up damia with a sigh and heading inside."Let me pack us both some clothes, then we'll head for your place."He sid looking at the door."Can you open nthe door for me?"
