It was dark, the full moon was shining bright in the air as a Man walked around a rock, blood spilling out of his hand as he walked in a circle around it. The air was heavy with the scent of Ozone and earth, thunder threatening to unleash lightning onto the ground below as the men pulled back his hood and sank to his knees, driving his fingers into the earth and crying out in some archaic Language, the earth rolling, spilling around the rock like massive waves in a storm tossed ocean. The man laughed, tossing his head to the moon as lightning flashed, again and again striking the rock, over and over, illuminating his blood red eyes as everything suddenly went still, leaving the earth still and the thunderous clouds gone, leaving only a figure laying still and pale on the rock, the man practically yelling his glee as he broke the circle of power and moved forward, stroking the woman, licking his lips. “The Earth Mother... she is MINE!” he whispered, stroking the naked figure as she laid there, dead to the world in unconsciousness.

Her hair was as blue as the earths waters, her skin as pale as the moon. As the man watched her long, slender body was suddenly shimmering with life as clothes, and flowers assembled themselves onto her body, long and flowing the gown framed her body perfectly as golden flowers appeared in her hair as her eyes, as blue as the sky fluttered open, slowly sitting up as she looked around, looking confused and disoriented as she blinked at the man. “...you have called me to form.” she whispered, her voice soft, airy and pleasant, as wonderful as the tinkling of bells. “why have you called me?” she demanded the man smirking darkly as he advanced upon her. “i will take you, and make you my bride.” he growled gripping both of her arms tightly enough to leave bruises. “i will rape your pretty human form, and take all your powers, and you will be mine, forever.” he growled, the woman's eyes widening in horror as she screamed, and screamed loudly, , kicking the man hard in the gut. He released her, wheezing in pain as he doubled over, the woman turning and fleeing, racing through the trees as effortlessly as a doe bounding through a field.

She ran, and ran until midnight turned to dawn, her eyes wide and panicked as she leaped over rivers and across hills as if the very air carried her across. She panted hard as she ran across a field, bounding for a home, she did not know what she followed, she only knew it was an ancient, and good power. The Wizard there in that little home would help her, protect her she was sure. The power tasted of old things, and living things, like ancient trees, and old caves. She hit the wooden door with both of her fists, amazed at the strange color but paying little attention as she pounded on the door with both fists, tears trailing down her gorgeous face as she pounded on the door. “Help Me! Please you must help me!” she pleaded, sliding down to her knees, too tired from running for so long to stay standing. Weakly batting the door now, sniffling and whimpering as she tried to sense for the evil wizard who had tried to take her powers, had tried to rape her. She could not sense him, but she was certain it would not take him long to find her.

Cinna Crane tossed and turned in the lightening filled night, his sleep restless as magic charged the air. Even untrained, the man could taste the magic on the air like it was a sweet candy that he could swallow and eat whole. He was a wizard untrained, he could do small magicks, the things that the humans thought were illusions, small things that made living in the barren wasteland of sebria ust a little easier. Because the world was ancient here, in the frozen north, where even the air tasted different from so many magicans loosing magic into the night. And Cinna Crane was young, untried, and about to get the surprise of his life as he jolted off the bed, so shocked at the sounding on his door, it was a few moments before he could distangle himself from the knots of the blankets and roll off the floor and to his feet.

Already moving, grabbing the knife from the dresser, though once a knife wasa as long as your forarm, could it really be called a knife? Easing his way down the stairs he looked around the darkened home, trying to find out what had jolted him out of a sound sleep. Stepping to the door he eased it open, yelping as he was forced to drop the sword in favor of catching the young girl as she fell into the warmth of his home. Looking down at the girl who was made of elements, his heart tightened without him knowing why. And even as he picked her up and took her upstairs, he didn't know why he was helping this stranger, only that he had to get her somewhere safe, and somewhere warm soon. Shivering even through his clothes he could feel the naked woman's cold skin, settling er on the bed a moment he ran a bath on autopilot, intending to warm her up.

"I'm going to put you in the water okay? It'll help warm you up."Cinna said as he picked her up, talking slowly not sure if she could understand him before easing her into the tub, kneeling at the side of the tub to hold her up, and make sure that she wouldn't drown i she could fall asleep or pass out.

the woman sobbed as she was caught, the bruises on her arms a dark purple with red and green, showing just how hard the evil wizard had gripped her. she pressed herself into him and started to sob as he held her, clinging to him as he carefully picked her up and took her into the warm, warm house, only now she realized hos very cold she was and she started to tremble and shake, her teeth chattering as she cried, cried from the torment, cried from the pain in her feet and arms, and cried in relief at her rescue. she almost didn't let him go when he settled her onto the bed, making pathetic terrified noises deep in her throat as she watched him run a bath, still shivering and shaking as he came back, blinking at him. "thank you, Wizard." she whispered softly as he carefully laid her in the tub, yelping at how hot it was compared to her ice cold skin, but she didn't fight, she just relaxed into the wonderful warmth that enveloped her, sighing softly as she relaxed into the water, closing her eyes as she passed out from the shock of everything, sleeping calmly and trusting this man to keep her safe.

she woke before he even had a chance to remove her from the tub, blinking slowly as she looked up at him, swallowing thickly as she reached for him. "please don't leave me alone... he will get me." she whispered, her voice terrified. "he tried to take me... he tried to rape me..." she was crying again. "he took me away from my home and tried to take my powers." she was traumatized, that much was very clear. no doubt Cinna would think she was just a young woman who had been kidnapped and nearly raped. the rest of her babbling would make little sense to him as she pleaded to him to protect her from the evil wizard who had tried to steal her away, clinging to his pants as she cried into his knees, her pretty dress floating in the water, the heated mist swirling around her, somehow laying in the bath and sobbing, she looked like a goddess from another world. like she somehow did not belong on earth. she calmed slowly, resting against him as she looked up at him, blinking slowly. "do you have a name?" she asked slowly, wondering what she aught to call herself while in human form. she couldn't call herself Earth Mother, or Mother Nature, no one would beleive her anyway, she knew better than that... so what to call herself?

"i am Damia." it was a Greek name, and it meant, literally, Earth mother. it was the name of a Greek Goddess who brought forth fertile earth, among other things. it was a good name for her, and she liked the way it sounded on her tongue. "do you have a name?" she asked softly, blinking at him slowly, her head tilted at him. "may i stay here with you? He will find me... He will try to take me back..." she laid her head on his knees. "... he will try to steal me... and he will break me..." she sniffled again. "i am so frightened... i have never been here before... i have never been away from home..." technically she was home, everywhere was her home, but she was also supposed to be everything. she was the energy that made everything flow, she was the life that made babies be conceived, that made flowers grow, that made the world turn and the sun shine. if she did not find a way home soon... all life on earth would start to die.

"Wizard?"Cinna started at that, looking shocked at the idea, and trying to sort out what she could mean by it. Shaking his head to clear it he took gentle care to rub her arms slowly, to get the blood flowing again."I wont leave. I'm not taking you nywhere."He said stroking her hair as he wrapped her up in a towel and dried her off, tucking her into the bed,and hesitanting before laying down with her, his own desire to warm her up making his skin feverishly warm with magic, not even realizing what he was doing as he held her gently. Scared of hurting her, but wanting to take care of."I am Cinna."He said stroking her hair, smiling softly.

"DAmia, the goddess of the harvest, who brings about life."He muttered and looking at her he had a feeling it was a apporiate name for a woman who seemed to embody water, colored like grains, and smelled slightly of apples and orchards."I will keep you ere. ou can tay however you want."He said stroking her hair, trying to figure out how to help her, to make sure that she felt safe enough to stop being upset."Shhh I promise, I wont let him hurt you."he uttered gently stroking her hair because he didn't know what else to do to elp her. Didn't know that he was a wizard, that he could help her beyond giving her shelter. But in that moment, that was the best thing he could do for her, was give her a place to stay until she was calm, and knew what she wanted to do.

she smiled a little a she snuggled into him a little, shedding her wet dress and leaving it in the water as he wrapped her up in a towel as she snuggled into the soft fluffy thing, trembling, cold still but much warmer now as she smiled at him. "you promise not to leave?" she asked softly, sounding terrified as she snuggled into him, not really noticing her own nudity, she was well covered by the towel, small and beautiful, every man's perfect woman. she let him hold her, loving how perfectly warm he was as she cuddled into him and the thick warm blankets that where settled around her. "Cinna." she murmured softly smiling a little. "that is a good name." she admitted softly. "like Cinnamon... and Cinder..." she murmured sleepily before smiling a little as she blinked at him. "yes. the Goddess of Life and Fertility." she agreed smiling a little as she pressed more tightly against him still so scared, so terrified. the wicked one was coming, she knew it, she knew his intent and she knew he would never give up his hold on her. he wanted to control life, and with her he could do that.

she relaxed into his hair stroking, shuddering violently as she closed her eyes and sighed a little as she kissed his cheek gently. "thank you Cinna." she whispered softly rubbing her cheek against him, sighing a little as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. she did not wake for hours, but it only took a short time wrapped up in his embrace to stop shivering, her skin warming to his touch as she breathed softly, her face so beautiful, her skin so soft. it was easy to imagine why someone would want to take her away, keep her all to themselves, even rape her. she was so soft and innocent, so beautiful. she didn't wake until the afternoon, nearly one o clock in the afternoon, jerking out of a nightmare, a stifled scream at her lips as she sat straight up in bed, the towel slipping away to reveal her perfect body, practically glowing in the half light in the darkened bedroom. "..c..Cinna?"

"I wont leave."Cinna said smiling a little as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, sounding slightly aused and worried.Trying to stay amused for her sake because he tended to accident cause magic to go wrong around him if he was upset. Not that he knew that, he just knew that when he was upset things tended to break and shatter. "Hmmm mother always said I liked cinnamon the best."He muttered stroking her hair and making sure that she was fine. wanting to keep her for from freaking out, blushing as she rubbed her cheek against his. he wasn't used to having anyone with him, anyone that thanked him for anything. So it was...odd.

Cinna ran into the room, at the scream. Nearly running into the door in his effort to get inside to make sure that she was fine."Damia.I'm here."He said grinning a little panting as he stopped at the edge of the bed, lookng at her worriedly, more worried about her mentally, that he didn't even notice her nakedness for a few minutes. Blushing hard when he saw that she was naked, reaching out and gently wrapping her back up in the towel, kneeling by the bed so that they were face to face."Hey.I'm here.Damia, I'm here."He promised holding her face in his hands, smiling softly."I was just downstairs getting food.Do you want something to eat?"

she smiled a little at the comforting kiss to her forehead. "i like Cinnamon." she admitted softly, enjoying the slow strokes of her hair smiling a little as she slept, crying wildly as she woke from her nightmare. she wrapped her arms around him as he settled next to her on the floor, sniffling. "i had a terrible nightmare." she whimpered as he wrapped her back up in a towel, sniffling at him as he promised her that he was there, snuggling into him. "..may i borrow clothes? i don't... like being naked..." she whispered, trembling. and it had nothing to do with being cold. "i would like to eat, yes." she admitted sniffling a little as she wiped her eyes, already calming down from her fright as she stood up and accepted the clothes he offered to her. the shirt was too large, and the pants barley stayed on her hips she was so slender, but she looked so adorable drowning in his clothes an she looked so relieved to be dressed, smiling a little as she walked with him into the kitchen, holding his sleeve the entire way, like a child seeking comfort. "what are we eating?" she asked blinking at him. "may i try meat?" she'd never tasted food, not in the traditional sense of the word. she did not need food, she fed off of the energy of life itself, that was all she needed. but now that she had human food, she was going to have to eat to keep her strength.

"Well,I'll just have to protect you from nightmares."Cinna said smiling softly as he looked at her, pressing a kiss to her forehead as he stood with her in his arms, not magic, just strong.Standing with her in his arms he smiled at her,"Of course you can have clothes."He said walking to the dresser and diggng through the clothes to find the smallest clothes he had, helping her get into them before smiling."Better?"He said looking amused as he helped her belt the pants into place, heading downstairs with her.Looking startled as he looked at the other he sat down at the table, looking at her holding onto his shirt, before settling the girl in his lap, holding her as he kissed her head."You may.Take what you don't, you don't have to ask."He said gesturing to the warmed ham and eggs, and bacon he'd made.Even if it was afternoon, he hadn't known when the last time he'd ate so he'd made something that would rest easily on the stomach.Pulling the tray of ham closer he smiled at her,"This is ham.And that's eggs, and the reddish meat is bacon."He said looking at her, trying to decide where she was from, assuming that she didn't know the foods because she wasn't from the area.

she smiled at him, happy about being protected by such a strong man, kissing his temple with a small smile as she let him help her dress, looking shaky and uncertain as he belted her pants up, smiling at him a little. "yes, thank you." she muttered softly. she was so light, he barley even had to strain to lift her, she was as light as a feather. she grinned as he settled her into his lap, leaning back into his warm, strong chest with a small happy little sigh before examining the food intently. she tried a slice of bacon and nearly spat it out, shaking her head a little. "i do not like this... bacon." she admitted wrinkling her nose as she tried a piece of Ham instead, pondering that for a moment then nodding. "i like this, you said this was Ham? that is from a pig right?" she asked smiling at him as she nibbled on her slice of ham. "i have never eaten things from animals before." she admitted. she'd tastes vegetables and things of course, but never the meat or produce of animals. she finished her slice of ham and tried the eggs, beaming happily. "oh i LIKE these! do they really come out of chicken butts?" she asked blinking up at him as she ate her egg happily, smiling. she didn't like Bacon, probobly because of how salty it was, but she really seamed to like the eggs.

"Yes, its made from pig."Cinna said smiling a little, looking amused at the girl sitting in his lap."That's okay.I'll eat the bacon."He said starting to nibble on the bacon the girl startling a laugh out of him at the idea of eggs out of chickens. Nodding he smiled."Yes. They develop them inside and when they're ready to come out, they push them out and there you have eggs. they come in shells, hard things, but when you break them up, you get this."He said explaining because it did him good to see her smiling so happily, amused at the idea of where eggs came from. Now if he could just figure out what the hell she was running from, and how he was going to actually protect her, then it would be okay. The only good thing, was he lived in the middle of nowhere, working from home as a book translator, which didn't require him to see anyone at his home. Which meant that not alot of people knew where to find them, and he hoped that the isolation would be some protection from whoever was chasing her. Because looking at the small girl in his lap, he had no doubts that whoever was chasing her, would just let her go easily.

she smiled as he ate the bacon and finished another egg before she decided that she was full nodding a little. "it sounds painful." she admitted wrinkling her nose before shaking her head a little. "they taste wonderful though." she admitted smiling a little as she pressed her face into his chest and inhaled happily, smelling him. "you smell good." she muttered softly smiling a little as she cuddled into him. "thank you for taking me in Cinna." she whispered softly. "i hope i can repay you someday." she admitted sighing a little as she shook her head. "maybe i can clean for you while i'm here? i've never cleaned before but it can't be too hard right?" she asked smiling at him as she clapped her hands together. "you'll teach me won't you Cinna? just until i can figure out to get home?" she asked her head tilted. where had she lived, what had she done that she not only had never eaten meat, but didn't know how to clean? maybe she was a princess of some sort?

"It probably is.Kind of like pooping though, just a natural process."Cinna said before blushing hard, as he realized what he'd said. Smiling as he grinned, shuddering a little as she pressed her face against his chest."You smell pretty good to."He muttered pressing a kiss to her hair, laughing softly."You're welcome. Though just you keeping me company is good.It gets lonely out here in the winter."He said before starting to laugh, kissing her forehead."No, cleaning isn't to hard.Come on.I'll teach oyu something now."He said settling her on her own feet as he looked for a few rags,"We'll dust. Just start wiping down things, to clean them."he said starting to wipe down things, watching her to make sure she was following the instructions as he tried to figure out the mystery. She confused him, because he didnt know any royalty or anything nearby, so where the hell had she come from?

she pondered that and then nodded. "that makes sense." she agreed grinning a little as she nuzzled his big strong chest with a small sigh of contentment. "it get's lonely?" she asked, looking a little baffled about that. "if it get's lonely, why don't you move closer to other people?" she asked curiously grinning as she was set on her feet, watching him dust and set about mimicking him, humming happily. "this is fun!" she admitted grinning delightfully. "i've never cleaned before." she admitted as she tried to dust the window, giggling happily. to be having so much fun doing a simple house hold chore... such a strange creature indeed. "Cinna?" she asked suddenly, looking at all the dust on the floor now. "how do we dust the floor?"

"Because most of the time I like being alone. But sometimes its just to much."He said shrugging a little, not knowing her meant that he wasn't about to tell her why he refused to go into town except for food and essential things. He hated town, always had. Laughing as he watched her dust, amused because unlike most people she looked so excited about doing housework."The same way we do the windows."he said smiling as he got out a bucket and the cleaner, having her kneel down and showing her how to dip the sponge into the cleaner then start washing the floor."Then we'll do the windows next."He said smiling before tilting his head a little."ARe you okay?I don''t want you to overdo it"."He said sounding worried because she'd been so exhausted and upset when she'd showed up at his house that he was afraid she was overdoing things just out of a need to please him, and he didnt want her to hurt himself.

she smiled a little and nodded. "that makes sense." she agreed giggling a little as she started cleaning the floor giggling happily as she ran the sponge up and down along the floor. "the windows need cleaning too!" she agree smiling as she paused blinking at him. "i am alright." she promised smiling a little. "i am a little bit tired but i will stop if i get more tired." she promised smiling happily as she went back to cleaning the floor. "how will i know when the floor is clean?" she asked curiously, blinking at him as she paused, looking around, her head tilted as if some strange sound had caught her attention. "...Cinna?" she asked suddenly, turning and looking at him. "...where are all the wild things?" she asked, looking confused. the area had been over hunted in a rush of tourists, there where very few wild animals left but they where slowly starting to repopulate.

Cinna smiled softly as he looked at the floor, nodding towards the slight shining it was giving off."That's it.Done. The shine means you've gotten down to the polish and got rid of the dirt."he said looking startled at her question about the animals before looking sad as he thught about it, "It was overhunted by the visitors who wanted the big trophies of wild animals for their living rooms and things....there's hardly anything left, but through careful work, they're starting to come back."he said blushing ever so slightly, because that was part of why he was hiding in the middle of nowhere, to start getting the natural wildlife back to where they should be.

she beamed happily as she got to her feet, gripping the table a little so she didn't fall over, shaking her head. "i can't do anymore... i'm too tired..." she admitted carefully sitting down on a chair before looking utterly horrified as she realized most of the animals had been over hunted. humans where her children too, but sometimes she hated them just as much as she loved them. "the poor Animals." she muttered her eyes welling up with tears shaking her head a little. "isn't there anything we can do to help them?" she herself could help, making their reproductive systems more effective, but doing so could have serious ramifications to the animals. she would have to be very careful when fiddling with their natural systems, but she'd had a lifetime of practice, hundreds of thousands of years.

Cinna looked worried as he stood helping her into the chair as he crouched down in front of her, looking so worried as s he started to cry."I'm trying. We've-me and a few others living out here-have been helping the females survive, to raise young. But its slow going because it takes time to breed and raise young."HHe said gently stroking her hair out of her face, looking worried about her, and wondering what he could do to help."Would you like to go with me tomorrow to see the wolves den?Tomorrow is the day I usually go check on the pups, but I could put it off if you don't feel well enough to go withme..."

she sniffled and wiped her eyes and offered him a careful smile. "you've been helping them?" she asked smiling happily as she wrapped her arms around him, hugging him happily. "they are lucky to have such kind Men like you." she muttered before brightening eagerly. "i want to go with! i'll be healthy enough i promise!" she stated beaming eagerly at him. "i want to see all the fluffy babies!" she admitted beaming at him pausing as her stomach growled, looking astonished. "i'm hungry again already?" well she had been cleaning for several hours, it only made sense that she would be hungry again.

Cinna looked startled at the smile, and hug before hugging her back, wrapping his arms around her as he kissed her head."I have been. Me and a few others."He said before leaning back looking at her worried before laughing as her stomach growled."Well, it'll be a little while till they have babies."he said looking amused before nodding,"It's been a few hours, and you've been busy. We'll eat again then see if you feel well enoough to go out."She said looking the other over worriedly, gently stroking her hair with a gentle touch that said he was well used to dealing with wild animals, and was seeking to make sure she was okay.

she smiled as he kissed her head, nodding a little. "i'm glad that there are people who are so kind." she admitted softly, gently kissing his chin. "can i try candy?" she asked her head tilted. "i've never had candy... i hear it's sweet, like honey suckle and peaches." she admitted beaming at him. her family must have been vegetarians to a massive degree to never have had eggs, meat, or even candy. she smiled as she snuggled into him, relaxing into the calming touch. she was wild in a way, you could feel the nature just rolling off of her, like she had spent her entire life in rolling hills, natural forests, ancient caves and uninhabited areas. she felt like the wolves, and the deer, and even the wild soaring eagles and skittish rabbits. there where even small movements that she made that could only make you think 'she's like a curious, but wary animal'. even now the sound of a truck pulling up to the house had her tense in his arms, her head aimed at the door, eyes wide like a frightened dog who knew the dog catcher had finally caught up to it.

"Of course."Cinna said looking amused as he sat her at the table, studying her for a moment. Wondering what kind of family she'd come from but getting a bowl of candy out for her, smiling as he set it by her. He loved that she feeled so in tune with nature, she would do well here in the woods with him and it made him feel so relaxed around her, that she felt like a a nature day given life."Shhh shh no, that's probably Monica. She's my research partner, she's coming this morning to help."He muttered soothingly, stroking her hair for a moment as he stood, settling her in the chair as he walked to the door opening it a crack and peering out, despite his words looking worried about who the visitor was, worried about if it was her attacker.

she smiled ay him, beaming really as he found some candy, licking her lips as she carefully examined the various choices and finally picked out a gummy treat of some sort, slipping it carefully, so carefully into her mouth, her eyes closing as she shuddered at the sweet, sweet taste. "oh...oooh that is... is wonderful." she moaned softly, chewing slowly, carefully, savoring the delicious taste before tensing, swallowing her treat before she was ready to as Monica drove up. it was indeed Monica, with a brand new tagging system. a GPS tracking and locating system. you simply put the wolves to sleep, wrapped the tracking collar around their necks, and set them free again, it would monitor where the wolves where at all times and allow them, even to watch their most intimate of lives with the small camera's also on the collars. "Hey Cinna! she chirped, waving at him. "come see my nifty new toy!" he ordered grinning at him as she pulled the suitcase out of the truck before pausing, frowning at him. "Cinna? you ok? your.... acting kind of weird..." she stated her head tilted at him. Damia had fled the kitchen and was hiding behind the living room couch, which was pressed against a wall, it was amazing she could fit back there.

Cinna relaxed when he saw the other, smiling at monica as he opened the door, snickering when he saw the suitcase."I'm not weird. And I have comapny...she's not used to other people. I wanted to make sure it was you before I opened the door."He said before looking around realizing that damia was hiding, frowning before he crouched down next to the couch, squinting as he looked at her worriedly."Lovely, it's a friend. She's helping me with the wolves. You wanted to help the wolves remember?"He said trying to coax her out because she was worried about how she'd reated. It scared him that she had fled, maybe she was hurt more then how he knew to deal with.Wondering if he needed to get her to the hospital to et looked out."Damia? Are you okay?"

Monica blinked, startled, astonished really as she gaped at him. "you have company!? this i have to see!" she stated grinning as she used both hands to haul the heavy briefcase up to his house, pausing as he told her she wasn't used to people and stared as he moved over to the couch to coax someone out. "...the wolves?" Damia asked slowly, her eyes wide. "are you sure it's not the Bad wizard?" she asked softly as she peeked out of the couch just enough to examine Monica, tiny, tiny Monica. Damia was small at 5'6, Monica was tiny at 5'3. both where slender, but Monica had an air of 'i'll kick your ass' about her that made her seam so much bigger than she was. "it's alright sweetie, i aint no... wizard." she promised smiling at the girl. "come on out, i won't hurt you none..." she promised, Damia hesitating and then sliding out of the hiding place, but didn't move towards Monica, she simply snuggled into Cinna and hid her face, Monica looking baffled. "Cinna...she's hurt inside... real bad... where in the world did you find that girl?"
