Michael made his way slowly upstream, following the river along a trail just inside the trees. The river bank was open on either side of the river, and there were trees there as well. He kept scanning in three directions, knowing that Aurora was behind him. It was good for her, in his view, to come along and learn more about the land of Sherwood, since she was his husband. "My father built his mill quite a long time ago, now there is a milll closer to the village, at a better spot along the river." At the top of a small rise, he stopped his horse to rest, and handed Aurora a leather canteen of cool water he carried on his saddle, after he took a drink.
