Heaven Sent

Trance was a bit frightened by being so high in the sky. She held tightly to Phoenix, her head buried in the crook of his neck so she couldn't look down. When he sat her down, she opened her eyes and took his hand, leading him into the small house. It was made up of one large room. Her bed in the corner, a small living space, and a little kitchen. "It's not much..but it's home." She moved to the kitchen. "You could gather some eggs from my hens out back. And I'll get started on the bread."

Phoenix looked around the quaint looking hovel. There was everything that one person could have ever wanted or needed.

"Eggs," he exclaimed, "Yes I will go and get those right now"
Phoenix exited the home and approached the coop of chickens. He picked up a small basket that was sitting on the ground near the doorway. as he entered the building the chickens seemed very afraid of him and his huge wings and easily scattered away from their nests revealing they bounty within. Phoenix quickly gathered the 9 eggs that were to be found in the coop and returned to Trances' side.

"I got the eggs you needed," he said triumphantly and placed the basket on the counter as her hands were full of bread dough.

"Anything else you need me to do?" he asked her.

Trance placed the dough in a metal container and placed it in the brick oven to cook on the wood fire. "No, thank you. Just sit and relax." She cleaned her hands and lead him to the bed. "I'm afraid it is really the only place to sit..I don't have a couch or anything like that.." She sat beside him, waiting on the bread. "You said, when you were talking about your race, that you bore markings on your back. But I;ve seen your back many times and there is nothing there.."

Phoenix took a seat on the bed and watched Trance work busily at the bread dough finally placing it into the heated oven. After she sat next to him and told him what she had noticed he was in shock.

"I don't understand," he said, "I have always had marks ever since I took on my role of a guardian" He craned his neck but was not able to see his back portion at all. "Tell me what does my back look like Trance?" he asked.

Phoenix wondered to himself and thought that if his marking were gone if it was because his guard was dead and if that then could he take on another guard

Trance oved her soft hands and placed the on his back, just inside his shoulder blades. She felt a shock, but not quite like lightening or electric shock. It was a sharp wave that ran through her and it felt an airy feeling to her body, as if she was lighter now, just air and nothing more. But she was still there, still solid. Her fingers tingled against his flesh as if they going numb. "There is nothing.. I can almost.. feel something. Like a patern on your skin but it's not a mark, it's..hot. Hot lines underneath your flesh." She slid her fingers across his flesh, following the lines that weren't there.

Phoenix felt her hands against his back and it felt really good. He was a little surprised at the pattern she mentioned and that it felt hot to her touch but he could not feel any heat at all. "I feel something too," he said, "not heat but a feeling of peace and serenity" Phoenix had never felt anything like that before and while most would be nervous he was quite calm. He enjoyed having trance run her fingers across his body, something he had not felt in a very long time. He was also very curious as to what it could be that she was tracing with her delicate fingers and where it would lead them.

Trance traced the patenr slowly It was a large partern, several rings going from the largest on the outside and for more on the inside of the. Between the rings were several symbols that meant nothing to her, but if he could see them that would be symbols of his peoples language. And in the center ring laid a symbol much bigger than the rest. She slid her hands at the center of it all and closed her eyes. She didn't want to move her hands..

Phoenix closed his eyes as Trances finger felt really good against his skin. In his mind he drew out the pattern he felt her trace. "This is the language of the Icarans!" he exclaimed. "Loosely translated it means 'This one has lost but will find again'" Phoenix was a little puzzled over the meaning. The feeling of tranqulity continued in his body, her fingers felt so good that he secretly hoped she wouldn't stop. He arched his back in a sign of pleasure and let slip the slightest of moans

Trance's finger tips hovered over the largest symbol. "But what does the middle one mean? it's so much bigger than the rest." She felt his back arch a little and heard his faint moan. She smiled a little, behind his back, and slid her hands to his shoulders, starting to massage him. "You're very tense..So many knotts." She worked at his muscles gently.

(I was thinking the middle symbol would bit two symbols intertwined. The symbol for soul and the symble for mate. together making a whole new symbol. And when the symbols carv themselves on her hands, on the back of one hand will be that new symbol and on the back of the other hand will be the Symol for a Phoenix, representing him.

"Oh you meant the combination in the middle," Phoenix said as he was getting massaged, "Well the one with spiral grooves means soul and the other one means mate...I am unsure by your meaning though...mine were never intertwined before."

Phoenix felt so relaxed. It was true his muscles were knotted tight but now his mind was at ease. "I like having you near me Trance, you are like no-one I have ever met," he told her. He turned to face her and took her hands into his, "you put me in a state of mind I have never been in"

Trance worked down his spine as he spoke. "Soul mate.." She stated quietly. "Is it your old symbol? The one you said was on your back? Or is it different?" She let her fingers slide off his flesh when he turned to face her. "I like being near you. I feel safe with you. I feel..warm when you are near. Peaceful." She smiled when he took her hands. "I am glad I can do that for you. I know the feeling. You make me feel like that when you look at me.."

"Well that is just it," he said, "My symbols always said soul and mate...they were just never intertwined like you mentioned."

Phoenix was curious about his symbols and decided that he would have to think on it later. He turned his attention to trance once more. She was smiling at him. He liked her smile, it reminded him of his totem

"This totem," he explained, "Is my symbol. It was given to me by the elders when I was created."
Phoenix ran his hand over the totem and found it a little odd that it was warm to his touch

Trance's smile didn't fade. She stared deep into his eyes as he spoke, her gaze only wandering to his totem for a moment before she returned to his eyes. She was silent, a question in her eyes. She looked away suddenly, a faint blush on her cheeks. "The bread should be done." She stood, moving to the oven and pulling out the hot pan carefully. Not carefully enough, however, as she burnt her hand and dropped the pan, the bread falling out and on to the floor. She yelped, gripping her hand with the fingers of her free hand. She was distracted all of a sudden, unable to focuse enough to remove the bread without burning herself.

While she had sat there with him gazing up into his eyes, she had the strongest urge to kiss him, to throw herself into his arms and feel them around her again, his hot lips forming to her own perfectly.

Upon hearing the yelp Phoenix sprang into action. He leaped up from the bed and moved quickly to her side. He picked up the bread and placed it on the counter. He didn't know which hand was burned so her took both of them and held them in his own. His totem glowed faintly and eventually got brighter. Once the light had faded he removed his hands. looking down on trances palms there were no burn marks to be found. "Are you okay?" he questioned. "I um I'm not sure what just happened...my totem has never lit up like that before."
Phoenix kinda stood there in quiet amazement.

Trance was silent, looking over her unharmed hands. She closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened them, she gazed up at him. "You truly are amazing, Pheonix. Every moment is something new with you.." She leaned up and kissed his cheek softly. "Thank you. Now go sit. I will make your breakfast." She moved to the bread and sliced it, placing the eggs in a hot pan to fry. "Actually, could you go outside and pick me a basket of oranges from the tree? I have none inside right now to make the juice."

Phoenix was still feeling a little perplexed. His cheek was warm where Trance had kissed him. He started over to the bed to sit but stopped halfway. "sure thing," he said, "consider those oranges picked!"

He grabbed a wicker looking basket and headed out the door. It did not take him long to find the orange tree as he remembered seeing it as they landed a short while ago. He spread his angelic wings and with a couple quick thrusts was at the top section of the tree and kept himself hovering there with short bursts of his wings. Within a matter of minutes the wicker basket was near to over flowing with the orange orbs.

Using the power of his wings he glided over to the doorway and lit gently upon the ground. Phoenix walked in and placed the oranges on the floor near trance. "Your oranges mi'lady" he announced. He straightened back up and went over to bed and sat down upon it. the smells that filled the cottage were amazing. It had been a long time since he had a meal cooked for him.

She smile as he set them down and moved on to to sit. She hurried to squeeze the juice from the oranges, placing it in a pitcher just as the eggs were done. She placed everything on a plate and handed it to him. She herself had a piece of bread in her hand, with an egg on top. "Eat up."

Phoenix was sitting on the bed as he had been before and was examining his totem with great curiousity. He had no clue as to why it had glowed. He closed his eyes briefly and heard a voice from deep with in him telling him not to worry that it was all part of a grander scheme.

Phoenix took the plate from trance and waited until she was sitting down beside him before he started in. The orange juice was the sweetest he had ever tatsed and bread and eggs were wonderful. "This meal is excellent," he told Trance with a smile on his lips. He ate his fill and placed the plate on a small stand next to where he was sitting.

Looking at Trances' hands as she ate the feeling became too much for him. "Are you quite sure your hands are not hurt or in pain of any kind?" he blurted out finally.

Trance smiled at his concern. "I'm fine, Phoenix." She took their empty plates when all was done and set them in her kitchen, returning to him. She placed her hands on his shoulders. "I don't why...but I feel very connected to you. Almost as if..now that we have met..everything will be different..and we will never part ways.." She shook her head. "I'm being silly, aren't I.." She leaned forward and kissed his cheek. But it was very, very close to the corner of his mouth. "You saved my life..and changed it forever.." She kissed him once more on the other cheek, also dangerously close to his lips.

Phoenix felt her kiss on his cheek. He could feel her warmth. She kissed his other cheek, again the warmth washed over him. "No, you're not being silly," he said, "I feel different too." Phoenix gripped his totem. It still felt warm. A voice deep in his head whispered quietly to him that she was different, that he was meant to have saved her. "I think it was written by the hands of fate that I was destined to have saved your life," He told her, "I think fate may have something planned for you."

Phoenix looked deep into her eyes, saw them as they were, he closed his eyes and pressed his lips softly to hers. A swell of courage went coursing through his body and he knew that it just felt right.

Trance placed her hands on either side of his neck and let her lips form softly to his. Her eyes closed and she melted into the moment. She'd never felt like this before... To be kissed, touched. It was new to her. She had not trusted men in her cult and..when she left she trusted no one at all. She had been alone for so long..

Phoenix felt peace throughout his entire body. He arched his back, unfolded his wings and wrapped them around her, pulling her close. He kissed her softly on her neck. The sensation took him back to a long time ago. It was a time when he had felt needed, before when his life had meaning. Feeling Trances' warm breath and having her in his arms made him feel like he was needed again. Phoenix broke the kiss and looked at Trance. "I think I have been waiting for you," he said, "If that makes sense at all." He smiled at her.

Trance stroked her thumb across his cheek, just under his eye. "And I think I've been looking for you.." She settled into his arms with a peaceful sigh. "All my life I've been in search of something I didn't know what was. Now everything is falling into place.. I found my other half in this whole thing.. You are who I need to be with, to move forward in my life mission. To stop them.." She kissed him softly once more. "I..know things. Sense them. I know someone will call, a split second before the phone rings. I know that something is wrong a moment before the screaming starts. And now I know..that this is the start of something we are a very big part of..but have no control over."

Phoenix held Trance close and enjoyed her sweet kiss. Phoenix listened closely to what she was saying. "Who knows," he began, "maybe you knew you'd be rescued from your fall which in turn is why you jumped." Phoenix felt very intrigued by her having this precognitive power and smiled slyly at her. Phoenix kissed trances' neck lightly and slowly moved his hand to stroke over her clothed breast. Cradling her head in his arm he gently laid her down on the bed. "Tell me, Trance" he whispers, "Did you see this coming?"

Trance closed her eyes and a shiver ran down her spine, earning him a quiet moan while he kissed her neck. She blushed, feeling his gently yet rough hand brush over her breast. "No, I didn't. But I had hoped it would." She smirked a little placed on hand on his chest, the other moving to the back of his neck as she pulling him into a kiss and pulled him him to rest above her body, his own body just barely touching hers.
