Virtual Beginnings (D.E x Me)

((Did you want them to have the run in with those moths this time or during a different mission?))

Kyla watched Loki for a moment before she picked up her knife that she had dropped at one point in the battle before glancing at him as he took a health potion, nodding slightly at his comment of it being a bit more challenging then he expected. After he took out his map, she moved over to his side and looked at it with him. "Well then, perhaps we'd best go check it out then, yes?" she asked him with a small smile. "There should be some good stuff there since no one else had been here."

"Yeah," he said eagerly, he slipped the map away and walked with her to the large stone. As they got closer the flat surface rippled like water, even there gentle breathing made the illusion shift. "Lets hope no one has gotten to it first...or we aren't walking into a trap," he said. Loki walked into the stone, it felt like passing under a gentle waterfall, though he was still dry as could be. Inside was a dimly lit tunnel, it seemed like an under ground city as they walked further inside. "This is pretty cool," he said looking at the walls, they sparkled with some wierd mineral in the light.

With a grin, she turned and followed him over to the stone, watching as the surface rippled as they got closer and closer to it. "I don't think anyone has." she told him, but she nodded at the mention of it being a trap. After he walked through, she followed, shivering at the feeling caused by the illusion. Once they were inside, she blinked a couple times as she looked around the tunnel they were now in. "Mm, it is pretty neat." she replied, moving to his side as they moved along the tunnel. The most that they could hear were each others foot steps and the faint rustle of each others clothing.

"So far it seems nothing is here," he said, he had an ability to sense incoming danger, but it wasn't going off. No the problem was the huge place seemed like a massive maze. He guessed there would be traps and the like if no actual monsters. He however was dissapointed for after several long minutes nothing seemed to happen. "Starting to think we are lost," he said, and the map didn't show them anything inside the area, they would have to keep wondering around until they found the treasure room.

Hearing him speak, she looked over at him after his comment on there seeming to be nothing there and she nodded slightly while she continued at his side. For several long minutes she just walked in silence at his side until he spoke once again and she chuckled. "Don't be so negative." she said softly with a smile, her eyes glittering in the dim light of the tunnel. "Where's your sense of adventure?" She was clearly joking by the tone in her voice as she moved to walk ahead a bit. "It can't be too hard to find the treasure room." she said. Suddenly the ground beneath her gave way and she disappeared through a hole in the ground with a loud cry of surprise, just barely managing to grab onto the ledge.

Loki was about to reply until he heard the sudden crack and the floor give in under her. Her cry also tipped him off, he was glad she held on. "Oh damn..." he sid and quickly grabbed onto her wrists. "Wow.....that was...unlucky," he said as he himself seemed to be on safe ground," he looked at her "Are you okay?" he asked holding on. In the real world he may or may not been able to do this, but in the game his character was much stronger. "Okay hang on I'll try to pull you up," he said and gripped her wrists a bit harder and tried to sort of lean back on his feet so she could scramble back up.

She softly grunted as she strained to hold onto the ledge, her fingers beginning to slip while she dangled into the hole. Even though common sense said 'don't look down', she looked over her shoulder to gaze down into the hole beneath her and she couldn't see anything down below except blackness which told her either the hole was that deep or it was just that dark down below. Feeling his hands grab her wrists, she looked back up with a soft gasp, her eyes wide as he gripped her wrists. "Unlucky?" she echoed with a nervous laugh. "That's putting it lightly." She shook her bangs from her face slightly. "I'll be okay once I'm back on solid ground, thanks." As he told her to hang on, she glared slightly, the look saying that there wasn't much else she could do. The young woman winced just a little as his grip tightened around her small wrists but she didn't complain as he leaned back and she began trying to pull herself up by grabbing onto his wrists as well and trying to climb up. It took her a bit, but finally her heel hooked onto a small indent in the wall and she was able to push herself up.

He felt her lift slowly, he didn't want to hurt her but he also didn't want to take so long the ground beneath him gave way and they would both be sunk. He panted once she was finally up on solid ground. "Uh...well...you said not to think negative," he said with a small grin. "Good thing you held on," he said catching his breath, truthfully he was more fatigued from the worry of her falling then actually helping her up. "Okay...well....guess we should be more careful with where we tread," he stated, and made it a point to poke at the ground around them just in case that was a trap and not a simple accident.

She groaned as she sank to the ground after climbing up and she softly panted from climbing and she closed her eyes while relaxing a bit now that she was safe. Hearing him speak, she sighed before glancing over at him. For a moment she just gazed at him before she began laughing softly, her eyes glimmering brightly as she looked at him with a smile. "Thanks for helping me." she said finally. Standing up, she smoothed down her dress before nodding slightly in agreement to being more careful where they walked. After that she made sure to use her staff to poke at the ground as they walked.

It seemed to take ages at this rate, but finally after nearly covering every inch of this underground city with not so much as a simple level one slim monster trying to stop them, they reached a pair of gold doors, nearly two stories tall. "Well....if this isn';t the treasure room...I have no clue what it would be then," he said and he pushed his hands against the doors. They slid open easily, not at all difficult like they should have. Inside was a nice peaceful looking fountain. Atop the gushing water was the chest and a glass stair case lead up to it. "This seems too easy," he said to her. A bit hesitant but he stepped into the room. No sooner had he then the water begin to swirl angrily. "I need to stop talking..." he murmers as figures began to emerge from the water.

After wandering so long, even Kyla was beginning to loose patience with looking for the treasure, so when they finally reached the doors, she sighed while gazing up at them. "This had better be the treasure room." she murmured while he pushed open the doors. Moving closer, she gazed inside the room from over his shoulder. It was a peaceful looking room and there didn't seem to be anything dangerous around. As he spoke, she nodded before watching him enter and she silently followed before pausing when she heard the water swirling. "Now what?" she muttered, watching the figures emerge from the water.
