The bus came to a large close, the rather sleek looking transport releasing a small plume of steam as it's engine came to a stop, at the corner of the street. The doors slid open with a hiss allowing passengers to disembark, the driver was in a small room at the front beside the entrance. He waved as a single person got off, a young boy in his late teens. He waved back at the driver and stepped off onto the curb, under his arm was tucked a small screen that seemed nothing more then a sheet of glass and a border of metal. plastic and circuitry. He walked to an apartment complex, passing by the old landlord who was busy fitting bars on a window. "Afternoon Zeke," the man said, the boy, Zeke, returned the gesture and bade him a good afternoon too. He grinned behind his thin framed glasses. He entered the building and went up a few flights, his older brother wasn't home so he knew he would have the place to himself. He eagerly went to his room and slipped the small computer device into a large monitor and it activated.
( Zeke: though has black hair and glasses http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr188/hoangaka2008/Anime%20boy/anime_boy_4.jpg )

He slipped off his glasses and replaced them with a visor of sorts, he slipped on a pair of gloves, and the screen began to load, a small spiral on the screen. Once it did a large forum page appeared, and he raised his hand, the small cursor following his movements as he scrolled down the page stopping at a link that said "New World Seed Come and See!" he clicked it and saw a string of numbers and letters, a code of sorts he had to activate. He highlighted it with a wave of his hand and saved it. He then exited the forum and on the desktop clicked a small symbol activating a game simply called "Verse". It was the most popular online game of the time, allowing players to interact with one another in highly realistic scale, in fact one would even feel things, granted nothing that could cause a player to suddenly die, though several warning of stroke, heart attack, and the like did flash on the screen before he hit enter.

The room suddenly seemed to melt away, his gloves and visor vanishing as did his physical features as he was entered the code he had earlier and the game activated. He ended up in a large town, a place of neutral standing where players could interact. It didn't seem very crowded like all the others. "Sweet," he replied. Taking his first steps in this new server. His physical features still loading as he did. Finally he stood taller then he really was, and much different then he really was.

(Love the way you set it up. ^.^ )

The sound of girls giggling filled the room, making a black haired girl look up with a sigh, watching as her sister and her friends came into the room the girl was in. She glanced at the small screen that was in her lap before she stood up and grabbed her bag that sat at her feet. "Where you going Kyle?" one of the girls asked and the girl gritted her teeth. "The names Kyla, not Kyle." she said firmly before she looked at her sister. "I'm going upstairs to my room." was all she said before she left the living room, leaving the gaggle of giggling girls to stare after her, ignoring her sisters voice as she called to her. Kyla hated her sisters friends. They were stuck up nosy bitches that were only friends with her sister Jewel in order to try to get to know her.

Up in her room, she closed and locked the door before she moved over to where her larger computer console was set up and she placed the smaller hand held into the monitor and she watched it activate while she got comfortable in the seat. After making sure she was comfortable, she grabbed the visor and the personalized gloves her father had gotten her and she slipped them on, watching the screen load. Checking into the forums, she checked to see if her latest post had even been looked at before exiting, her dainty hand moving around with practiced ease. Once back on her desktop, she smiled to herself while clicking on the icon for "Verse". As the room melted away, she smiled before she chose which avatar she would use before she entered the town. Of course her avatar appeared at the usual place in the town, right near one of the NPC shops.

She liked the feeling of being in Verse. It gave her a freedom that she didn't feel in real life though some might say she was a little addicted to it. That's if her friends and family knew that was what she did most of the time. Kyla kept her sister and her friends out of her private life, preferring it didn't end up all over their social network that she was an avid gamer.

He looked around, this world did not seem very different from most beginner worlds, besides the heavy amount of traffic. He then however felt it, the same sensation one gets when they are suddenly not alone. "Open shout menu," he said, a small virtual screen appearing before him, he set his voice to announce, so anyone in the town would be able to hear his voice, much like an instant message. "Hello?" he asked, "Anyone else here...saw the seed code in the forum and came to check it out," he said, following the announcement he sent his character Bio. In this world he was not called Zeke, he was known as Sparrow the title he was given, his character name however was Loki. He was a level twenty four weapons master, a class that few people chose because of it's very low leveling rate, the cap being seventy. However he liked the build, a class that could use multiple weapons on the fly, though they lacked as much strength as a typical warrior, could not heal like a cleric in the game, and there spells where very minute compared to a mage. All this information went to the available players.

He began to walk around, waiting for a reply to come to him, if anyone cared to that is. This place seemed very empty, he never felt so open, he wondered if this was one of those scam servers. A place where experienced assholes tried to lure newbies and would challenge them to a fight, only to gain the fame points one got for beating another player in a PvP match.

(assuming she is wearing the cloths of her avatar right?but her appearence is more like her real appearence?)

((Yeah, she looks pretty much the same as her real appearance just with the clothes and her hair is more auburn then either red or black.))

She was waiting for her avatar to finish loading when she also felt the sensation that she wasn't alone. It was one of the features about the game she liked. Unless the other player was in stealth mode, others would be able to tell they were there. Just as she finished loading she heard someone speaking and she looked up from her bracers that she was adjusting just before she received another persons character Bio. After reading through his info, she sent hers back. In the game she had been given the title Panther. Why, she had no idea, but her characters name was Ireth. She was at a slightly higher level then Loki, though she was a mage so that wasn't surprising. Her character was a level 26.

She liked being able to cast a number of powerful spells as well as use a couple of weapons, though she couldn't just as many as a weapons master. Just a dagger or a sword. Something small and simple pretty much. After sending out her bio, she moved over to one of the vender's that she was familiar with and began going through her inventory. With her allowance from her father, she had been able to buy a good bit of gold for the game and she was curious as to what was new in the shps. "Open private chat." she said before targeting Zeke as the receiver for the chat before speaking. "Thanks for coming. I didn't know if anyone would." she said.

He was looking at his supplies, he was low on health potions and food. This was a game, but it literally made one feel hunger and such, and one could in a sense "die" well there character could. If a character died they could be brought back with a fee, or a player would have to start from scratch, most people at a higher level didn't want to lose a character, so at times they would make several, with one being there most prized avatar, and would only use it for special events. Zeke however didn't bother, his character was well equip with weapons he spent hours procuring from dungeons or events, but he knew a few friends in the industry, after all his older brother did help develop it, so if his character died he could simply have him reprogrammed into the game.

He received her message as he was going through his things, and he opened the window. He smiled as he got her bio, he noticed she was rather cute, though of course one would never know if a character indeed looked like there avatar. He had a scrawny friend at schools whose avatar was a rather muscular male, a warrior no less too. "Welcome....did you program the new seed?" he asked her. Usually a person had to have some knowledge and skill to open a private server or a new one, not to mention pay the fee to keep it activated.

While looking at the new and old items available, she traded in her old staff for a new, more powerful one before she bought a couple health potions, mana potions and food. Kyla used to be a big gamer on the old version of "Verse". It had been something like a beta program to see how people liked it. It was a big hit fairly quickly. While most would make several avatars, she just made one and she worked at building it up a lot and if she 'died' she would just pay for her character to be brought back. After all, she could afford it. She was often changing how she looked so she had quite a few items saved in her cache. The cache was where players could store old items, weapons, clothing and different things that changed their characters appearance.

When he replied, she had just finished storing her newly bought items in her pack and she opened the window again before answering it. "Mm, yeah." she replied. "I wanted something a little less... cluttered. There were too many people in the others." Kyla was lucky that her father had a rather well paying job that he could give her a weekly allowance of a good amount of credits that she was allowed to spend on whatever she wished. Half the time she spent it on the game.

He was glad to know that he was at the very least talking to a girl. It was how the game worked. One could not fake gender, looks was one thing but the game had to know if you where male or female, otherwise, your character could be buddy. His brother had always told him that so he was glad to know that fact. "Yeah I know what you mean...so what was it you wanted to do in an uncluttered world?" he asked her. Of course the items in this world would be up for grabs, usually a new world had plenty of rare items, so first come first serve, granted if they could brave dungeons and the like alone. "If this is a new world then I am sure there are plenty of things to explore," he commented. He liked the way new places spawned to, designed to be different each time, at least it seemed so, he had not run into a world that was identical to another, similar but there was always a difference. It was a game one could not simply play and learn everything about it. It was an exciting challenge.

"I'm currently in the square," he said, it was the middle of town where most new comers spawned, "If you want we can form a party and have a look," he said. He found in the game, he talked to girls much easier, truthfully he was pathalogically shy to speak to most in class, unless he knew them for some time that is.

(be back in a bit, going to grab a bite to eat)

She was along the same lines of thinking. She usually disliked talking with girls, even in real life, so since she could tell she was actually talking to a guy, she was more relaxed. She finished up with the shop before walking away from it and glancing around slowly. There weren't too many people there, mostly NPCs and a couple of others that had wandered in to have a look around. After he asked about what she wanted to do in an uncluttered world, she chuckled while adjusting her bracers and smoothing out her skirt. "Indeed there are plenty of things to explore." she told him. After he told her where he was, she nodded to herself. "I'll meet you there." she told him.

Since it wasn't her first time to the world, she was able to set where her character spawned to when she entered and she always spawned next to one of the shops. Turning slightly, she spotted him and took a moment to just study him. Because of the angle she was at, she could watch him with ease through the drapes of a vender next to her while he wouldn't be able to see her. After a moment she moved from behind it and walked towards him.

He made sure to move things in his inventory around while he waited. He saw a few more players spawn but he paid them little heed as he waited. He had to put weapons in his pool too. Being a weapon master meant he had the ability of a "weapon pool" he could store weapons and ammunition in a small little pocket area and could bring them out at will. It was like being a large swiss army knife in a sense. He would buy potions later, perhaps find more when they went out. He did not notice her studying him, as he sat down on the edge next to the large fountain in the square. Once he saw her coming though he stood up.

"Hi," he said with a wave, it was a bit to cherry, he knew his avatar seemed more like the dark mysterious type, so he quickly let his hand go down after a moment. He had to admit she was really cute, it was almost cruel that he could not simply beleive this was the real her. After all he knew it was pixels and such, where as most guys would have been drooling the very moment they saw her.

She saw him wave and chuckled to herself. It was a little strange seeing the dark mysterious avatar waving but then again, not all avatars matched the users personality. However, her own was fairly close. She liked to wear cute clothes that verged on being sexy and she liked to change what she looked like. She looked like she had a rather spunky attitude and sometimes she did. Lifting her hand, she waved back before smiling slightly, her eyes glittering with amusement. "Hey." she said. When she was closer, she could see him better just as he could see her better.

At the moment she had her avatar designed with auburn hair and forest green eyes as well as slightly pointed ears, making her look a little more elf like. If one were to ask, she looked half human, half elf which was what she was going for. She moved over to the fountain and glanced into the water before sitting down on the edge.

He sat down as well again "So any ideas where you want to go?" he asked. "Or should we ask the siwhing well?" he said, the well was a portal too, all towns had one, all one had to do was throw a coin in and say where they wanted to go. The world was full of different biomes. Cold areas full of snow, wild areas like a jungle or vast plains, dark places like dungeons and even pits that resembled hell though these where for very high leveled players. And there where also places where monsters where not spawned. Like areas for relaxation and social gathering, beaches, forest, not everyone liked the idea of fighting and gathering weapons and such, so it was like a more social network of sorts in these areas. He had gone there before, it was nice, but he rather liked fighting orcs, and goblins, and strange cave beasts.

She looked thoughtful after he asked his questions and she tipped her head back while gazing up at the sky. "Well, there's a quest I've been working on and the reward is some kind of really rare item, gold and experience points. I was wondering if you'd help me with it." she told him. "Each time I get close to finishing it, there's always a hoard of orcs that attack. I've tried to finish it three times and each time I've had to restart the mission. Luckily I've saved my info before I got to that part again." Looking over at him, Kyla arched an eyebrow at him, curiosity on her face as she waited for his response. "I figured I'd better get someone to help me out. So, what do you say?"

She leaned back a bit and grasped the edge of the fountain, some of her long hair brushing the surface of the water behind her. While she did this, she looked around at some of the other users in the town. She noticed that the occasional user was watching them as they spoke but when she looked at them, they would usually look away. After a bit she looked at him again.

"Orcs huh?" he said. They where not particularily hard, the problem was that usually it was never just one or two. They where like vermin and would spawn in small groups from as small as ten to dozens depending on the area. However he liked fighting large groups when he could, it felt fun, though yes usually it rarely went very easily. "Sure," he said as he thought about it. "Sounds like an interesting quest," he had not done one like this, it must be a newer one, he could see why she needed help though. A mage was a powerhouse, but they where "glass cannons" where they could dish a lot of damage, but they could not take much. His class was similar, warriors depended on heavy army and such, but he however could only wear lighter or medium armor. He however would move fast and avoid damage rather then tank it.

"What are the words for the place?" he asked her. One could simply go into a biome and look around, but if you knew the correct words, or coordinates you could get to a specific area in the biome. Just another thing that made adventuring so much more exciting.

She nodded slowly with a sigh. "Mmhmm. The little buggers usually wait and then swarm me at the last minute." she said with a slight pout before she looked over. After he agreed to join her, she smiled and chuckled before nodding again. While she loved the powers that came with being a mage, she hated that her health wasn't very high and that it didn't take much to weaken then defeat her. But she guessed that's why people joined parties with numerous people of different types. She looked over at him a moment later as he asked about the words to the place and she shook her head while standing.

"I don't know the words, but I do know the coordinates." she told him. Moving a little closer to his side, she opened the map so they both could see it and she pointed to an area quite a ways from the town they were in. "This is where the attack usually takes place." she said, pointing to a red blip on the map. "So I think we should arrive a bit away from there, that way we don't show up smack in the middle of the area." she told him.

He looked at the map, he of course did not know of it but it made sense. Seemed like a desolate area, a place where orcs would probably dwell. "And where are all these treasures and such? Underground? In a dungeon near by?" he asked. He wondered if only two people could handle this. It seemed like a fairly high ranking quest, but he was not going to voice his worries. After all he liked to challange things, and he had little to fear of losing his character after all. Though he was sure it might hurt a bit still. "I'll definetally need to get some health potions before I go though," he said as he thought about it. It wouldn't hurt to also have a few wind step scrools to increase his speed and such. He was not worried about weapons, unless these orcs where packing some high powered things they would not dull his blade or break them, and if they did he had many.

"I think they're underground." she commented. "Like I said, I've never been able to get past the orcs, so I don't know what's past them." She closed the map and sighed softly. "Besides, sounds a bit like an adventure." She grinned at him, her eyes bright as she giggled. As he mentioned getting health potions, she nodded and stood up slowly. "Okay. I want to look around a bit more at some of the shops, see if there's anything else that's new. While you're getting your potions, I'll go check them out. How about we meet back here in a bit?" She smoothed down her skirt, feeling that the back was a little damp from the fountain but she didn't mind.

He stood up with a nod. "Alright, I'll meet you back here in a few then," he said thinking it would not take him very long to get the necessary equipment. He however did not know the town, but all of them where fairly the same, some bigger then others but the NPCs traditionally where not far from the square. He took a look at a mini-map of the place to find his way. He was a little anxious, he wasn't sure exactly why, he had gone on quests before. Perhaps it was just because this quest was a bit more then he normally did. Whatever the reason he made his purchases and made sure he was well equipped. He also had a return scroll if the need arose.

With a small smile and a quick nod, she turned and head off towards some of the NPCs that sold some of the things she wished to look at. She didn't know how long he would take so she wouldn't spend too much time looking around. The first couple didn't have anything she wanted or needed so she moved on to another. Here she bought a headband that had slightly higher magic then the one she had on and she bought a scroll as well, though this one would add a little boost to her magic spells. When she was done getting what she wanted, she head back to the fountain to meet up with him.

He was certain things would not be so bad, or he hoped anyways. He guessed he wanted to look like he knew stuff, granted she was a higher level then him after all. He waited by the fountain, waiting for her, when he saw her coming he smiled gently behind his scarf. "Do you have everything ready?" he asked her, he noticed the new gear. He did not need much gear, being what he was the most important thing was he had weapons for every situation. He did however learn two minor spells, simple to keep himself alive longer. Once things where settled, he set up the party sending an invite to her. He did not need to wait long for it to beaccepted and he saw her status change in her bio. "I'll set it to experience share," he suggested. He knew most did not like that, because it ment experience was equal, where as usually it depended on who killed what. He knew most mages didn't like it as they tend to kill most so long as there is some tank around.

"Alright lets go," he said tossing two coins into the fountain. It glowed and a door opened. He grabbed the knob and let her go in first before following behind. He had a few moments while the scenery loaded to ponder things. But soon he turned to se a dark sky, the ground was old and dry, cracks in areas. Dead bushes and saplings where the only things left. "Okay so...where are these," before he finished though he slipped a potion from his inventory and took a drink. His eyes shimmered. The hunter potion alowed him to sense hostile forms in the general area. He was a bit worried when he noticed a rather large gathering of red aura, red was the color of an enemies aura. "Here is the welcoming comity," he said pointing to there eastern flank. In moments a war band of orcs was getting closer. He heard the whistle of an arrow and in a flash of light a blade was in his hand and he knocked it aside before it struck either of them.

"Yeah, I got everything that I need or want." she told him while she approached him. Kyla tucked her new scroll away before she looked up at her new companion. It was then that she noticed that he was a couple inches taller then she was. Waiting patiently while he set up the party invite. When he sent the invite, she looked it over before accepting it. Kyla shrugged slightly after being told that he'll set it as experiance share. "That's fine." She told him. If she was really worried about leveling up, she would of continued fighting monsters alone. Once they were done, she moved a little closer to his side while he pulled out two coins and tossed them into the fountain.

Once the door was opened, she walked through and watched their surroundings melt away before becoming their new location and she looked around. She sighed softly while looking around at the familiar scenery. She was beginning to hate the location, but after trying to finish her quest for so long, she was determined to finish it once and for all. Opening her map, she turned slightly to face the direction of where they had to go. "We have to go that way." she said, pointing in the right direction while he pulled out a potion and took a drink. At the mention of the welcoming party, she looked at him and she sighed softly. "Yeah." she said before she heard the sound of an arrow flying through the air towards them. She was relieved that he was able to deflect it and she did a shield spell.

He pulled out another potion bottle and drank it. His form seemed to become slightly misty, like smoke rising from a fire. Another small flash of light ans he held another blade in his hand, the two looking very familiar. "Cast an area of affect....that should slow them down," he said, he did not know her spells, but all mages had spells that would do small damage but would spread over a wide area. He busied himself with swiping at arrows and projectiles his movements quickened because of the potion. He only had a few minutes tho, so he could not stay in a defensive stance for very long. He felt the ground rumbling a little bit as the orcs got closer. Soon he knew they would try and surround them. It was a simple tactic, but effective.

Once they where closer he leap forward and sprinted towards the nearest. A large axe coming down over him he had to catch it with his two blades and then slip to the side of it's owner. He swiped twice and felt his blades connect, the orc becoming a shower of pixels as it died. He rather liked the lack of excessive gore, made it more interesting to look at he thought. His mind however had to quickly go back to the fighting, as another heavy sword swung at him he had to duck under.

She noticed that his form changed a little and she smiled slightly as she withdrew her short sword and her staff while he told her to cast an area of affect. With a nod, she swung her staff and a wave of silver magic spread out over the area and the orcs were indeed slowed down. Because of her new headband, some of her magic spells were nearly doubled, the effects being of 1.5x for most while others were doubled. As he swiped at arrows and projectiles, she cast a couple more protection spells on both of them. As the spells were put on him, he'd feel something similar to cold water running down his spine before he'd see different colors wash over him at the same time before disappearing. By the different colors, he would be able to tell that they were spells against poisons, magic done by any orc mages, a spell that raised the strength of his armor and another that lessened the effect of the orcs attack strength.

While he rushed forward to attack them, Kyla hung back a bit while she performed different types of spells in order to weaken their opponents. When the orcs began to group together a bit, she would cast a lightening spell, the electricity jumping from orc to orc while they were all shocked. While some of the already wounded and weaker orcs exploded into showers of pixels, the others were either momentarily stunned or wounded. With that she moved forward and began joining into the fight, attacking with both magic and her sword.

He shivered at the feeling, he never was used to that cool sensation, but after a few moments it felt nice. The spells really helped, making it easier for him to not have to really dodge or deflect so many blows, at times even the blade of a sword would simply bounce off of him or only cause a minor wound that he would heal later. His twin blades flashed as he would leap and jump almost in a sort of dance from one opponent to the next. As he cut more down he began to charge his gauge. Being a weapons master did not mean all of his weapons where open to him, some took time and energy to gather the needed power. Once he felt his energy hit a point though he would grin. He leapt a distance away and crouched down, a large bow of sorts, though mechanical is seemed appeared before him. Like a large sentry cannon he let loose several small swarms of arrows at a fast rate, piercing and putting down several enemies. Once his meter dropped though the weapon vanished and instead of his two blades he this time formed a longer single blade that he wielded in both hands.

He watched her leap into the fray as well, it was a very gutsy move for a mage, most would provide magical support unless they had the right specs for a damage dealing type. Few where brave enough to jump into a fight though. He had to admit it was very exciting, she wasn't normal in that sense. He swing the long blade in sweeping arcs, causing damage in a slower, but larger scale. Soon few of the orcs ran, there AI making them need to "survive" in a sense and would retreat.

She vaguely noticed him shiver when she cast the spell upon him and she felt a brief moment of amusement before she continued to cast spells upon herself for a little extra protection since she couldn't take much damage before she'd be forced to either retreat or she'd 'die'. After she cast the spells, the mage jumped into the fight as well. Unlike other mages, Kyla used her staff as an extra weapon instead of using it to just cast magic. What others didn't realize was that the staff dealt damage as well. So she swung her staff with one hand while she stabbed and slashed with her sword, killing orcs or blocking their attacks.

When the orcs began to retreat, she shot a couple of the fleeing ones with jolts of electricity, watching them explode into a shower of pixels before she turned to her 'partner' and she grinned at him. "Looks like we beat them." she said while moving towards him, sheathing her sword as she moved. "Thanks for your help. So, shall we move on and see if we can get to this treasure?" she asked him, her eyes glittering brightly. Kyla brushed her bangs from her eyes before placing a hand upon her hip, waiting for his reply.

Loki felt the potions and such wear off just as the fight concluded, he was glad, he felt a little tired, but a health potion would fix that up. He mused how it was like being a drug addict when he played, taking different mixtures and feeling all the sensations. However he was smart enough to know it was only a game. Once his weapons where away he gave a nod "Yeah....lil bit more challanging then expected," he replied, he however took a health potion and felt his strength return. He then took out the virual map. "Well...the treasure should be behind a magic dor...map says closest one is over there," he pointed to their left, in the distance there was a large stone, though any gamer would no it was a portal to the dungeon.
