An Experiment gone very wrong (Maxy x Yuu Inohara)

Milia's blush deepened as Mari went into detail about the incident in the bath, shifting uncomfortably as her leggings began to feel a bit too tight. She bit her lower lip slightly as she tried to keep her focus on the road ahead, "I-I see..." She blinked slightly, hearing the mention of Miri, "So that's why the captain was so flustered when she got back that night?" She muttered to herself, her ears burning red now at the thought. Her eyes widened slightly at Mari's comment about her body's ability to stretch, "S-Stretch?" She asked, knowing the rumors about the orange haired maid but had always thought them to be exaggerations to make a more colorful story.

When the topic changed to her own sex life, or lack there of she found herself biting her lip slightly harder before responding, "I-It's really not..." She stammered, body now sitting board straight, "L-Like I said... There's really no time or energy for that, especially for rookies like me who are on call at all times when we don't have a specific job to do." She gave a soft sigh, "Like I said, its mostly people with money or too much time on their hands that do such things... Mostly..." She put emphasis on that last mostly, likely referring to the maid incident, "Now, I'm sure priestesses of the goddess have nights like you describe, but..." She trailed off, "Besides, I know a few guards who's wives would kill them if they so much as looked at another woman in that way..." She commented idly, trying to calm herself back down, "Though, at least that's how it is around here... I've never actually been very far from Avalon's borders, so I only really have stories to go on..." She said, scratching behind her head slightly, "Like, I've heard that up north sex is used as just another way of showing one's power or status..." She stated as example.

She glanced back once more, face still noticeably flushed, "So... You mentioned something about being from somewhere else and needing the witch's help to get back?" She asked, a slightly confused look on her face now, "So, you really don't know about her or why she lives so far out away from civilization?" She tilted her head slightly before quickly turning her attention back to the road to keep the horses on track, a slight chill running down her spine at the thought.

"Those priestesses have orgies huh? Y'know.....I'm really not surprised. After seeing their windows....which at best are perverted and at worst are downright pornographic.....where I come from you certainly wouldn't define people like that as Priestesses..." Mari shook her head slowly as she looked up at the night sky, still tracing the stars. "Where I come from is incredibly different....women there don't have a penis for one thing. We have two genders instead....this place is incredibly different..." Mari shook her head, then looked back up to the front oof the carriage at the back of Milia's head. "So....things really aren't all the different up north huh? One way or another everything seems to be about sex in this world....."

Mari nodded slightly in response to Milia's question. "Well, I'm from another dimension. I arrived here in an accident involving one of my new inventions, a power generator that drew on the energy expelled by micro dimensional portals. Something happened though and I ended up here. Your queen said that this witch might be able to help me out with a power source. So...is there anywhere on this world with...technology? Y'know, advanced machines? Computers? Anything like that? If not then getting back home is going to be a lot harder than I originally planned..."

Milia blinked slightly at Mari's description of where she came from, "Two genders?" She tilted her head slightly, "So wait... You don't have a..." She sputtered for a moment, "But then how do you have kids?" She asked almost sounding like a child who had just been sat down for 'the talk'. Then she heard Mari's explanation of the lab accident, staring blankly for a moment, the young scientist may as well have been speaking an entirely different language to the guard, "I uh... I think mages can use portals, but usually only bringing things in or if there's a contact point at both ends... What exactly is a computer though?" She asked, scratching her head slightly, "I'm sorry, I'm probably not being all that helpful..." She apologized, looking down for a moment.

She cleared her throat slightly before shaking her head, "A-Anyway... Since you seem dead set on finding the witch..." She began, going silent for a moment before taking a small breath and continuing, "I should probably warn you... She's... Not quite right. She does strange experiments with unnatural creatures..." She explained, biting her lower lip slightly, "She used to live in the city, until one of her experiments got loose and... Caused problems." She said with a slight sigh, "Lets just say that the priestesses were busy that day... The queen thought it was hilarious though, and the only reason the witch was banished was to prevent a mob from forming... The two are still in contact though, apparently the witch has been making a new toy for her highness." She finished with a small sigh, "So, please do be careful when dealing with her..."

"Yes, two genders. I'm female, the other is male. And no, I don't have a penis. Only male's have them where I'm from. They're...well genetically they tend towards being more heavily built than women, no breasts, no vagina...it's hard to describe really to someone who's never seen them before...." She shook her head slightly, then shrugged. "I think these 'magic portals' people keep mentioning are nothing like that I need. Magic is just superstitious nonsense. Science is the real power of the universe" Mari leaned back, folding her arms. "A computer? It's...well....how to describe that....it's like a metal box...with a screen, a piece of glass that displays an image of something else...."

She glanced back to Milia, almost smiling at how shy the girl was. It certainly was a refreshing change after the other people she had met so far. "Hm? Experiments got loose....? .....I see..." Mari had a strong feeling she knew exactly what Milia meant by problems, and the priestesses being busy....but she decided not to press the issue, if for no other reason than to spare Milia further embarassment. "Everyone always tells me to be careful....careful never got me anywhere. Science, life....it's about taking risks, not always being careful. I'll handle this 'witch' of yours no problem"

Milia scratched her head slightly at the further strange explanations, unsure as to what it all meant. Milia shook her head slightly, for as smart as Mari made herself out to be, she seemed a bit too overconfident for the guard's tastes, 'What did I do to deserve this?' She thought, looking down for a moment. As Mari continued on, further displaying that confidence, Milia gave a slight sigh, "You know... Sometimes people warn you about things for your own good... If you really are from another world, then taking risks seems to be what caused you to be stuck here... And personally I find it rather hard to trust your 'science' if its something that which can assist in, especially not after that night..." She said irritably, "... And what do you do if your risks taking drags others down with you? Just because I'm supposed to be guarding you doesn't mean I have to like the thought of being around while someone provokes a witch." She continued, eyes glaring forward.

After a moment of silence on her part, she looked down again, giving a soft sigh, "I'm sorry... I said too much didn't I?" She shook her head slightly as she slumped against the front of the cart, biting her lower lip, "Just... Please, be careful this once? Who knows what she might be capable of if you get her angry." She closed her eyes for a moment, tightening her grip on the reigns, finally going quiet once more.

"Well you seem rather insistant..." Mari folded her arms. "Alright, I'll be 'careful' around this witch then....though I still don't know if she'll be able to help or not. Even if she is able to provide me with an electrical source, without access to technology there's not much point. If I don't even have a computer to power then how I can't possibly even start to ready a generator that might be able to get me home..." She sighed slightly, moving down onto the sleeping bag on the floor of the carriage. "I'm not going to do anything that might get you into trouble. Trust me on that, I only take risks that put my own ass on the line, not anyone elses"

She opened up one of the sleeping bags, though when she tried to get into it the dress rather got in the way. "Ugh....don't look back here, I can't sleep wearing this damned dress so I'm taking it off and I don't have any underwear on" Without waiting for a response, Mari started to remove the white dress, lifting it up over her head, ample breasts bouncing free, her naked body glistening slightly in the moonlight that was coming through the windows of the carriage, before she started to climb into the sleeping bag, pulling it up over her. "Wake me in the morning, though if you want to take a break just stop and get some sleep too"

Milia's body went rigid at Mari's blunt declaration, unable to help but glance briefly over her shoulder, face turning bright red and snapping back forward as she caught a glimpse of bouncing breast, biting back a slight whimper as she crossed her legs. The thought of her charge being completely naked back there making her job as a guard somewhat harder to keep focused on. She held the reigns to the horses tightly, trying to keep her focus on the road ahead. It took a moment for the last bit of what Mari said to hit her, "... So she complains about everything around her being about sex and then strips down and offers to let me take a break..." She grumbled quietly to herself, even if she did feel tired it seemed improper, especially since sleeping in leather armor wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing.

With the sudden quiet between the two, the sounds of the night could be heard clearly, crickets chirping, owls hooting, and other expected things, though some other less naturals sounds began to rise up as they entered the forest. It took all of what concentration and awareness Milia had left to navigate through the tree line, especially in the dark but even then she found herself occasionally drifting off. By the time the sun finally rose and the wagon came to a stop they were a ways into the forest.

Milia groaned softly as she shakily made her way down from her seat and around to the back of the cart, opening the door and cautiously peeking inside, "Good morning miss..." She said tiredly, looking a bit ragged, though that was probably to be expected. Carefully she climbed into the cart to check on Mari, but before she could get far, she collapsed on her bedroll, barely able to stay awake, "Morning..." She mumbled, barely able to sit up and unconsciously pull her armor off, leaving her in only a long strip of cloth wrapped around her chest, straining against her breasts, and a loincloth that did little to hide her lower anatomy as it stood upright, slightly bigger than Niki's was in both length and girth, though she was too tired to be fully aware of her surroundings. She mumbled softly, drifting off atop her bedroll, momentarily forgetting she was supposed to be guarding someone.

Mari slept soundly through the night, the bumping of the cart not even affecting her, and she didn't know enough about the forest to be at all scared of it. "Nnn..." She rolled over slightly when the carriage came to a stop, the sleeping bag being pulled a little more tightly around her body, the outline of her breasts even more visible as Milia got into the carriage. When Milia collapsed beside her, the sound and movement caused Mari to stir, groaning slightly as she began to stand up, the sleeping bag falling down slowly, exposing her breasts. The tired girl took a few moments to realise where she was again, slowly looking down at Milia and blinking, assuming the guard was asleep.

"....Well...at least she's still asleep...." She muttered, letting out a sigh of relief, then blinking as she caught sight of the tented cloth between Milia's legs. ".....I guess it must just go with having one of those things....no self control..." She shook her head, standing up slowly and carefully, trying not to wake Milia, before turning her back on her guard so she could retrieve the bag Milia had brought. "No way I'm wearing that dress again....time to put on my own clothes at least....." She grumbled, opening up the bag to retrieve the clothing that Milia had brought for her.

Milia grumbled softly, barely registering what Mari was saying in her half asleep sate. Her eyes opened a crack, blinking for a moment to clear the fuzzyness, a deep blush crossing her face as she caught sight of Mari's nude form rummaging around for her clothing, "Must be dreaming..." She mumbled to herself, rolling over and away from the tantalizing sight, "Stress is probably getting to me..." She shifted uncomfortably, trying to find a position where something was pressing against her persistent erection until finally it slipped from its cloth prison, swollen tip glistening in the morning sunlight.

The forest outside had become quiet compared to how it had been in the night, save for the occasional rustle of branches and chirping of birds. For the most part it seemed peaceful and normal all things considered. Even so, there were some oddities, such as oddly colored toadstools, bright pink with white spots, blue caps, some with caps curled in a way that they almost resembled wine glasses. The ground was littered with what looked to be giant apples, though most in no shape to be eaten, and still more in much better shape hung from nearby trees. Most notable of all, however, was the truly massive spider web hanging amongst the canopy, glistening with morning dew. The web looked large enough and seemed to have threads thick enough to hold an adult human.

As she finished getting dressed Mari thought she heard something, turning around to see Milia shifting, then blushed as she watched the girls loincloth slip aside and reveal her erection. "...Right...I think I should give her some privacy while she sleeps...." Mira shook her head, slowly and quietly making her way out of the carriage, stepping onto the grass outside and slowly looking around the forest. "Hm? I've never seen mushrooms like that..." She moved a little closer, crouching down to inspect them a little more closely. She wasn't going to touch or even dare try to eat one however, she had no idea about such strange plants. They could be poisonous for all she knew. When she stood up and looked around, she nudged one of the giant apple cores with her foot, then looked up to see more hanging from the trees.

"Apples bigger than my head....great....and even better...." She looked back down "Something in this forest is big enough to eat them as well....." The scientist adjusted her glasses, moving around the clearing a little more, following and examining some of the spider web. "Hm....like the apples...way bigger than normal...almost like a human sized spider....then again after meeting that cat girl I wonder...." She tapped her chin, looking at the web for a few more moments, before turning to make her way around the edge of the clearing a little more, looking into the forest. She had no intention of crossing the tree line, that would only lead to most likely getting lost.

As Mari wandered about the clearing, there was a slight rustling from the tree line, a strange woman slithering out behind Mari, a small basket tucked over her arm filled with strange mushrooms and plants, "Hmm-hmm. What have we here?" She asked, more to herself than to Mari, tilting her head slightly as she examined the young woman, "Not often I see people stopping in this forest. You wouldn't be lost would you?" She asked, a slight hiss to her voice.

She carefully plucked some mushrooms around a tree with her tail, tossing them into the basket as she approached, slitted pupils narrowing slightly in the light, "You should be careful, all sorts of strange things lurk about. Even during the day you never know what might be hiding in the shade waiting for something to get close." She warned with a slight gesture upwards to the giant web, "May I ask what brings you out here?" She asked, curiosity dripping in her voice as she brushed her bangs from in front of her eyes.

"Hm?" Mari turned quickly as she heard an odd rustling, but no footsteps, then suddenly a voice. "I-" Mari cut off and blinked at the sight that met her. Ok....a snake woman....this was most definately the strangest thing she had seen yet since her arrival. Elves were slightly odd, a cat girl had been unusual, but a snake woman? That....that was definately strange. "....You're.....a snake..." Mari observed the woman, slightly oblivious to her rather obvious statement. As the snake woman approached, Mari took a step back, frowning slightly. Ok, she hadn't made any aggressive moves yet but...Mari was taking absolutely no chances.

"....If you must know why I'm here, I'm travelling to meet with someone who lives in this forest....I'm told she's a witch who used to live in the city..." Mari glanced behind her, stopping her movements. She was getting a tad too close to the treeline for her liking, she didn't want to risk getting any closer. "I assume you live in this forest.....? Or at least nearby..." She glanced at the basket the woman was carrying, then back to the carriage. Damnit....this was really not the time for Milia to be sleeping away.

The snake woman tilted her head slightly at Mari's observation, waving the tip of her tail at the girl, "Yes, quite observant of you." She said in a snarky tone. What Mari said next however made her stop in her tracks, eyes narrowing slightly, "I do live here... And I may know this 'witch'... And I may not... It all depends on why you ask." She said, voice somewhat low and making it fairly obvious who she was.

The snake woman adjusted her basket slightly so as to not drop her haul, slowly beginning to slither around the girl, examining her carefully, "You don't look at all familiar, so what would bring you out here for such a purpose?" She asked, more to herself than to Mari, smooth scales of her tail brushing against the scientist's ankle as she came full circle, now staring Mari in the eyes, "Though you do not seem armed either... Strange girl..." She mumbled, trying to make sense of the situation.

"Whether you know her or not really makes no difference to me, it just might have been useful if you did so you could make sure we were going in the right direction" Mari folded her arms beneath her chest, causing her breasts to push up and out slightly in her shirt. "I wouldn't look familiar no, I'm not from around here....not from this world at all..." She sighed slightly, starting to tire of explaining this to everyone all the time. Perhaps she would be best just finding some more clothes that were a little easier to live with than the dress...at least that way she could blend in a little and avoid so many interruptions.

"I come from another world, I came here by acident. I'm trying to find a way back and I'm told this witch might be able to assist. As for being armed....well....no I'm not" She glanced at the carriage. "I brought a bodyguard instead. I find fighting to be so barbaric...what's the point in it really?" She shook her head, looking back to th snake girl. "So...is there anything else I can assist you with....Miss....?"

The snake woman raised a brow at the girl's story, crossing her arms as well, "I'm not entirely sure how I would be able to help with that, however..." She frowned slightly at the mention of the bodyguard, "I assume you won't leave me peacefully until I give you SOMETHING... So, follow me." She said, gesturing towards where she had entered the clearing from, "But please leave your... "Body guard" behind, I grow tired of my projects being ruined by over-reacting city folk and villagers..." She gave a slight tail gesture before slithering off into the wood, giving a glance behind herself to see if Mari was following.

Not far into the wood there was another clearing, a rather large hut standing, or perhaps more accurately crouching, in the middle of it, supported by what appeared to be bird legs, a small ladder running down to the ground from the doorway. Despite having windows they were almost entirely blocked off by stacks of boxes, lines of potted plants, and large racks of vials containing odd liquids, everything seeming to be heavily reinforced and bolted down to whatever surface they were on. The snake woman gave one last glance behind herself to see if she was still being followed before making her way up to the hut's door.

Mari blinked as she listened to the snake woman, then raised an eyebrow. "You.....you're her...the one they call the witch..." Mari moved to start following her, this was the woman she had been looking for....not exactly what Mari had expected. She'd just assumed the witch was human like her. At most she would've expected an elf like she had met back in the city. A snake woman? Definately not high up on her guess list. "Don't worry about Milia....she's only just gone to sleep, it'll probably be hours yet before she even starts to wake up. She stayed up all night after all...." Mari shook her head slightly as they headed into the tree line. She was sure she'd be back before Milia woke so there shouldn't be a problem. This way they could at least head back to the city and Mari would hopefully be a step closer to home.

"Hm? Well....that's an....interesting house..." Mari raised an eyebrow, adjusting her glasses as she looked at the odd bird like legs holding it off the ground. "So....the Queen sent me to you when I mentioned something about an electrical supply. But I actually need something to power first....and the people I've spoken to just look at me strangely when I mention technology like computers. Without some kind of technology I've got no way to reconstruct my Dimensional Portal generator....and all this nonsense people keep spouting about magic is just driving me insane"

The snake woman sighed softly at Mari's ramblings, pushing the door to her hut open and slithering inside, "Touch nothing." She said sharply, "I do not know how things are where you are from, but magic is far from 'nonsense', and I will not have a strange girl handling things she has no understanding of." She said, carefully setting her basket down on a work table in the center of the room which seemed to take up most of the hut, two doors in the back leading to different rooms, one with a bolted door, and the other completely open, a simple cloth hanging from a bar serving as a makeshift door.

Jars and vials littered almost every open surface, most secured in metal holders or behind locked cupboards, the entire place seemed almost prepped for an earthquake, "Now, what were you looking for? Electricity?" She mumbled the question, grabbing a ring of keys and sorting through them as she approached a line of jars, each containing strange stones, one a deep crimson and giving off small wisps of flame, another pale blue, barely visible through the thick frost covering the inside of the container, then a violet shard with streaks of blue, small arcs of electricity reaching towards the metal ring surrounding the jar yet kept safely inside, "I might be able to part with this, however... Primordial elements are quite difficult to acquire and by no means cheap..."

She cleared her throat slightly, glancing at the young scientist, "How do you plan on compensating me for this?" She asked, her voice serious and businesslike, eyes narrowing slightly as she continued, "And I do not mean monetarily, I doubt even with Adeline's backing you would have enough to pay for such a rarity." She stated bluntly as if intercepting the most obvious offer for her services.

Mari looked around the inside of the hut slowly, eyebrow almost constantly raised. It was almost like some kind of science lab...but the equipment was like something from the middle ages, some of it not even looking remotely scientific. And then there was the strange stones....try as she might Mari couldn't think of an explanation for them with technology she knew of. These things were either a technology more advanced than anything she had ever seen before, or they really were some kind of magic...but that couldn't be....could it?

"Hm? Compensation? Right" Mari had been reaching for her coin purse, then cursed silently when the witch ruled it out. Still....made sense the woman didn't need money....she lived well away from the town, gathered her own food...it would be rare she probably needed to actually trade with anyone else. Still, that left Mari in something of a situation. "Alright, well if you don't want money then what do you want? The only other thing I have is my scientific knowledge, but that wont do you any good with this kind of technology. I deal in science, not magic, and where I come from has technology and science a lot more advanced than what I've seen in this place so far"

The witch frowned slightly, continuing to sort through her keys as she rolled her eyes at Mari's rambling about technology and her home dimension, "Yes I'm sure its a lovely place." She said, only half paying attention "Lets see... This one's the tea cupboard... The death cap experiment rack..." She mumbled to herself, giving a sigh as she tried to think of what she could get out of the scientist. Her tail twitched slightly on the floor as she pulled it into tight coils beneath her, trying to get comfortable.

After a moment she cleared her throat glancing at Mari for a moment, "How about this?" She said in a calm tone, "I've been meaning to pack up and move for a while, as I am beginning to run out of places to settle in where the villagers won't come snooping. Plus it would be nice to see what herbs and materials I can gather out in the world." She said with a slight grin, "And, from the sound of it, you seem like the type who will traveling quite a bit, so you'll need transportation and a place to stay yes?" She asked, unwinding her tail as she approached the young woman, "Then I propose this: I give you access to whatever you may need from my collection, and in return you let me travel with you... And you have to agree to be a guinea pig for some of my more practical experiments."

She brushed a hand through her hair, pupils narrowing, as she watched for a response, "Nothing too dangerous of course, despite what you may have been told about me, I'm not entirely without conscience." Her tongue flicked out for a moment, her grin widening, "One project in particular may even help you blend in a bit better... Considering your lacking in certain faculties." She said in a suggestive hiss, eyes briefly glancing downwards to punctuate her statement.

The Death Cap experiment rack? Well....this witch had an interesting way of naming things that was for sure. She should've expected such a price.....at least the guinae pig part anyway. And...well....when Mari thought about it, the travelling part made sense at least. The city she had arrived in clearly didn't have what Mari was going to need, at least through travelling she'd see some different places, possibly find a place with some more advanced technology that she could make use of. Still....the whole guinea pig part....it concerned her...but....then again she might have to make some sacrifices to get back home.

"Hm? Lacking in..." Mari blinked, then frowned. "How do you know about that? Just how long have you been watching me anyway?" She folded her arms. "I'm not 'lacking' in anything thank you very much. Where I come from I'm perfectly normal I'll have you know" Mari glared defiantly at the snake woman for a few moments, then sighed. "But I'll accept your offer and travel with you....this city obviously doesn't have what I need. Still, we should head back to the carriage and let Milia know. I'd rather she not think I've been kidnapped and then try desperately to find me again"

The snake woman gave another slight flick of her tongue before letting out a slight chuckle, "Oh I haven't been watching you at all, and in all honestly I wasn't too sure." She said in response to Mari's reaction, "The air around you just didn't seem quite right is all." She explained with a small shrug as Mari once more explained the differences between here and where she was from, "It may be fine for you back home, but you would rather stand out in most places here, though I imagine you are already aware of that, judging by your reaction." She brushed a hand through her hair dismissively.

Once the topic of the young scientist's bodyguard came up, the witch gave a slight nod, "Of course, I nearly forgot about her." She gave a slight shrug, "Very well, but if she comes along, you two will have to share the guest room." She gestured towards the doorway with the sliding curtain door, "As you can see I only have one and my quarters are... Quite off limits without permission as you might understand." She said simply. Out of all the people Mari had encountered so far, she seemed the most nonchalant about the whole situation, of course, given profession this was probably the least strange thing she had encountered in her life.

Without another word she carefully slithered back towards the door making her way around Mari in the rather cluttered room with surprising ease, "So shall we see if your friend has awakened yet?" She said more than asked, and was soon back out the door and back down the ladder. Meanwhile back at the carriage, Milia was up and moving, armor hastily thrown on and spear and shield readied as she scrambled around the clearing, "Miss? Miss are you okay?" She yelled in panic, "Damn it... What did I have to fall asleep like that? The queen will be furious if she finds out I failed a simple mission like this in such a manner." She mumbled in her panic, eyes darting about for any clear sign of where the scientist had vanished to.

"Stand out or not, I'd rather not have a penis hanging between my legs thank you very much, I'm perfectly happy as I am and the last thing I need is to get back home and end up being some kind of freak there. It may be normal for you here, but it certainly isn't where I come from" Mari folded her arms and shook her head dismissively at the idea of further 'help' from the witch. Besides, she suspected that such 'help' fitting in would likely come at an additional cost to what she was already getting herself in for...and Mari already had the feeling that the less she owed this witch the better. "Of course your room is off limits, I'm not some kind of idiot who just goes wandering into places they aren't welcome" She turned to follow the snake woman outside and back into the forest, heading back towards the clearing. It was somewhat impressive that the snake woman was able to traverse the ladder into and out of her cabin without any legs....but then again Mari just guessed it took practice.

On arriving back at the clearing, Mari sighed slightly as she saw Milia running around in a panic. Clearly this was a guard who lacked experience....so unprofessional. "Milia...stop running around...." She stepped forward, walking towards the other woman. "I met the person I was looking for is all. She's offered to let me go with her and I've accepted. I wont find what I need to get home in this city, so I need to move on. Now, you can either come with us, or head back home and tell your Queen that you completed your mission. Just make up your mind quickly, I get the feeling that she doesn't want to wait around for too long"

The witch gave a slight shrug at Mari's comment about what was 'normal' back in her own world, "Seems like quite an inefficient place." She muttered quietly to herself as she lead the way back to the clearing. Once they reached their destination, she couldn't help but give a slight grin at the frantic guard, choosing to remain in the background as Mari approached her so as not to draw unwanted attention.

Milia jumped slightly, whipping around when she heard Mari's voice, opening her mouth to say something at first, the closing it again as the scientist's words dawned on her, "... Wait you di-." She began before she saw the snake woman leaning against a tree, her eyes going wide. The young guard seemed to be doing her best impression of a fish, unable to decide if she should protest or not as Mari explained further, "I... Are you sure about this?" She asked, frowning slightly.

She glanced at the cart for a momment, giving a slight sigh, "I take it you've already made up your mind, despite how dangerous this woman is haven't you?" He words earned her a dirty look from the snake woman. She grit her teeth slightly before jumping as the witch spoke, "So I take it you won't be joining us? I guess I can understand though, some wounds just don't heal hmm." She said idly in a cold tone, making a dismissive gesture, "Well, either way we probably won't be leaving for a day or two, I need to finish my current... Project... And have it delivered. So you two have time to handle whatever it is you need to." She said giving a slight tail gesture before turning to head back, "Now if you'll excuse me."

Milia frowned slightly, watching the snake woman leave before turning her attention back to Mari, "... Hnn, I don't feel right leaving you to whatever than witch has planned..." She gave a slight sigh, "How about this? Gather up your things and I'll take the wagon back to the city and report in to the queen... If the project if what I think it is I'll be able to meet you two there." She said, rubbing her temples slightly wondering what she was getting herself into, "I trust you can handle yourself well enough without me for a couple of days... Hopefully." She said, her tone making her seem more concerned about the witch's intentions than Mari's ability to take care of herself.

"Inefficient...." Mari's first instinct was to argue but...well....the witch was right. Her world was many things...but efficient certainly wasn't one of them.

When they reached the clearing, and when Milia finally seemed to calm down, Mari sighed and folded her arms. She had pretty much expected this kind of reaction to be perfectly honest. "Yes I'm sure about this. I don't really have much of a choice do I? Obviously what I need just isn't in the city....I'm going to need to look elsewhere, try and find the things I need to start finding a way home" She sighed slightly, then looked between the witch and Milia, the two seemingly having some history...though after what Milia had told her about the....experiments....it wasn't surprising. Mira just stood silent as she watched the snake woman leaving back towards the hut, leaving her to turn back to look at Milia. "I can take care of myself....don't worry about me alright?" She smiled reassuringly, then nodded slightly at Milia's suggestion.

"Alright then....meet us in a few days. And thank your Queen for me again will you? I never got the chance to see her this morning and thank her for the clothing and the money. If I do find a way home then I doubt I'm going to be coming back here to thank her in person after all..." She nodded lightly. "Look, just go on alright? I'll handle myself and her" Mira smirked, giving a thumbs up before turning to go, heading back into the woods to follow the snake woman back towards her hut. "Project huh....? Wonder just what this 'project' is.....damn.....this is going to drive me nuts now...." Mira always had been too curious for her own good....any mystery and she just had to know the answer.

By the time Milia gave a final wave and started the wagon off back towards the city and Mari began walking back, the witch was already a fair ways away. Occasionally, large shadows would flit by above her and the clumps of webbing seemed to grow denser in some spots. The webs seemed to almost be holding branches apart in areas, creating the appearance of strange openings.

There was a slight rustling in the trees as Mari walked by one such, something seeming to now be watching her. Another shadow went overhead, this time past her. Then another faint rustle and a brief dull clicking noise from behind. Behind her there was a strange woman, standing, or perhaps more accurately dangling with her narrow red eyes locked on the young scientist. Sprouting from her back was a set of four long black spider like legs, and hanging just above her rounded rear what seemed to be a spider's abdomen, a long thick strand of webbing trailing from it up into the forest canopy.

Her body its self was fairly tall and well toned, skin a deep tan. Long black hair draped over her shoulders like a curtain, bangs partially concealing a series of six crimson dots lining just above her eyebrows. Most notably she was completely naked, modest, especially compared to Mari's own bust, breasts clearly visible and a long, thick, penis dangling freely between her legs, not even erect and already reaching mid thigh.

Her eyes glinted with a predatory look, and in a flash she lunged forward, legs silently closing the distance between her and her prey. She licked her lips hungrily, fangs briefly noticeable as her upper lip curled from the motion. In a swift movement her arms and human legs lashed out to wrap around the scientist and hopefully momentarily keep her from running.
