Recognizing a certain... alarm... evidenced by the previous respondent, let me first attempt to assuage it: I have, over the years, heard both directly and through various media that women who have had hysterectomies (and ovarectomies) have often experienced a pronounced renaissance in their sex lives. Of course, no woman would subject herself to these procedures capriciously; only in cases of medical necessity, because of reproductive-tract damage due to a traumatic pregnancy or endometriosis, or perhaps prophylactically, when she has a very strong family history of ovarian or uterine cancer, would she resort to these extreme measures.
