ALRIGHT! The time is here for some legitimately fun DCU RP.

A few things you should know...
This RP group is largely open. The only requirement being that you post here and/or PM me your character profile. From there we can discuss how to bring you into the present plotpoint, although I'm not opposed to someone just jumping in and fucking shit up/being a dues ex machina. I only ask that you considerablely let something be known so we're all just like "wtf"

On characters:
Canon or established characters will be filled on a first come first serve basis. As for OC's, the sky is the limit, and I am not against anyone twisting the DC lore to fullfill a character's intriguing background. If this applies to established characters, then it's up to the parties involved to sort anything out.

Rules?
This whole shebang is largely informal and fun-based. I encourage everyone to have fun, and would love to see how plots change and progress depending on everyone's input. Setting up plots, scenarious, and working together can be discussed OOC for character's working together for some awesome event and is also encouraged.
Finally!
Obviously this is where you will post your character profile. This applies to both canon and OC characters so that we may of course know just who is playing who. I like to keep things simple, so of course fill in the blanks below. Feel free to include whatever information you deem relevent (including pics).

Here's the OOC chatter thread for working with others on the plot.

Now go PLAY! here

Name: The Joker
Alter-ego: the Clown Prince of Crime (or Chaos), the Harlequin of Hate (Havoc), and the Ace of Knaves.
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Affiliation: His own. Maintains a sleeper network of people within various factions and affiliations.
Superpowers/abilities:
Child at heart - The Joker commits crimes with comedic weapons such as a deck of bladed playing cards, an acid-squirting flower, cyanide-stuffed pies, exploding cigars filled with nitroglycerin, harpoon guns that utilize razor-sharp BANG!-flags, and a lethally electric joy buzzer.
"My shit's custom."

Get your hands dirty - Not one to leave his work in someone else's hands. the Joker is highly intelligent and skilled in the fields of chemistry and engineering, as well an expert with explosives. Capable of hijacking broadcasts- usually news programs- of both the television and radio varieties. His most prominent weapon is his Joker venom, a deadly poison that infects his victims with a ghoulish rictus grin as they die while laughing uncontrollably. The venom comes in many forms, from gas to darts to liquid poison, and has been his primary calling card.
"There is a method to this madness."

It's called "tolerance"... - The Joker is immune to every known venom as well as to his own laughing toxin; "being an avid consumer of his products, the Joker's immunity to poisons has been built up over years of dedicated abuse". The Joker's skills in unarmed combat vary considerably depending on his psychosic. Joker can be a very skilled fighter, capable of holding his own against Batman in hand-to-hand combat. His versatility in combat is due in part to his own extensive array of hidden gadgets and weapons on his person that he often pulls out on a moment's whim (rolling a handful of explosive marbles on the ground, retractable knives attached to his spats, etc.); On the other hand, Joker can be physically frail to the point that he can be defeated with a single punch. He is, however, consistently agile. The Joker has cheated death numerous times, even in seemingly inescapable and lethal situations. He has been seen caught in explosions, been shot repeatedly, dropped from lethal heights, electrocuted, and so on, but he always returns once again to wreak havoc.
"Which suit do I wear today?

Madness makes us what we are - It is rumored the Joker's mental state is in fact a previously unprecedented form of "super-sanity," a form of ultra-sensory perception. It also suggests that he has no true personality of his own, that on any given day he can be a harmless clown or a vicious killer, depending on which would benefit him the most.
"Irony. Now that's bad comedy!"
Appearance: His hair was black that reflected a green tint in different lighting. His skin was solid white. Devoid of color after a dip in pharmaceuticals and certainly rejuvenated for a man of his actual age. His eyes were black, blacker then a few nights without sleep, but fierce nontheless. Was it experience and wisdom in those eyes? Or just pure insanity? They betrayed his age as he appeared no older then 30. He sported his trademark pinstripe purple slacks and blue vest, accented by a dark green shirt. Often seen with his purple coat, recently he had been spotted in a deep crimson coat. He was slender, and relatively tall, able to look Batman in the eyes, and his body mannerism and stance all depended on his mood. Oh... and that smile, a deep red grin made possible by a sickening series of scars.
Bio: His real name has never been confirmed. He himself is confused as to what actually happened; "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice! Ha ha ha!". After escaping from Arkham Asylum again, he hasn't been causing trouble directly for anyone. With a vast network of criminals secretly under his emply, he maintains his means by collecting from various contacts. No longer overlooking an empire, the derelict docks he used to reside in nothing more then a stash spot. Now a days he could be found with a small entourage of "mademen". Tending to his daily affairs and staying in scattered safehouses throughout Gotham.
Other:The Joker is renowned as Batman's greatest enemy. While other villains rely on tried-and-true methods to commit crimes, Joker has a variety of weapons at his disposal. For example, the flower he wears in his lapel sprays (at any given time) highly corrosive acid, poisonous gas, or soda water. The Joker has a gun which at first shoots a flag saying "BANG!", but then, with another pull of the trigger, the flag fires and impales its target. Other times he can be found wielding legitmate firearms from revolvers to fully automatics. His most recurring weapons are a high-voltage hand-buzzer, which he uses to electrocute his victims with a handshake, as well as his iconic Joker venom, which will either cause a victim to become paralyzed, comatose, or even die, depending on the strength of the particular batch. What all versions share however, is that the effects are always preceded by hysterical fits of laughter, as well as a frozen grin. His unpredictable, homicidal nature makes him one of the most feared supervillains in the DC Universe; the members of the villains' Secret Society refuse to induct the Joker for this reason. The Trickster remarks, "When super-villains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories."

Name: Edward Nashton
Alter-ego: Riddler, The; Enigma; Big Question; P.I Nashton
Age: 30-ish
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Many had been forgotten and abandoned, formerly knew Trishell Boom (estranged girlfriend/sidekick), currently financial adviser for Wayne enterprise.
Superpowers/abilities:
Escape artist - like most grade A criminals, no judicial system can seem to catch him, and if they do, he's probably out of the paddywagon long before it reached the station. Only the super of crime fighters can catch a guy like the Riddler and place him behind bars; too bad there's no such thing as a Super Corrections Officer (well, at least not one the Riddler had met), so it won't be long before he's busted out and back on the streets.

Gun Smart – It's not often the Riddler is seen using weapons besides his staffed, but on occasions (more rare, these days) he can be seen with a pistol or two, and it would be wise to understand that he fully knows how to operate it.

Enhanced Intelligence – The Riddler is a genius, in every sense of the definition, he's not just smart, he's super smart, almost inhumanly so. Problems don't exist in Riddler's mind, as just looking at one can be simply cracked in a matter of minutes. And because of this, the Riddler often find it more interesting to create the problems himself, gaining him the title of Mastermind.

Fit – The Riddler is no mutant, nor is he an alien from space, so his strength and limitation is purely just a human male of his age at his highest prime. He's not a body builder, but he's agile and fit enough to hold his own when working with (or against) the supers. However, since strength is not his strong suit, he'd rather avoid hand to hand combat, often he'd rather avoid combat altogether, and would favor placing his victims in puzzled death traps where they'd have to use their brains to get out of.

Appearance: Edward has short, ear length auburn hair that's too red to be brown but too brown to be red. His eyes are a dark brown, and his skin is of a fair tan complexion. Due to recent circumstances, Edward doesn't try much to hide his identity, but one would always see him in his trade mark green and purple suit, complete with question mark bowler hat. In costume, he wears across his face a purple eye piece that, quite frankly, just pose for fashion, and another known accessory would be his purple gloves, which may switch to green at times. Edward is an average built six foot man with a debonair posture, yet he carries with him a cane that can extend into a staff when in battle; the tip of it is bronze and hooked into a question mark.
Riddler.jpg

Bio: Edward's problems started at a very young age, he was born into a broken home without stable parents; his mother had abandoned him nearly at birth and his drunkard of a father was nothing less than abusive. Besides his poverty family life and homely upbringing, Edward was always an exceptionally smart child. During his childhood years, his school had hosted a competitive puzzle game; having favors in puzzles and riddles of sort, Edward broke into the school and practice the puzzle ahead of time until he was completely perfect at it. When the contest came, Edward had won and received a riddle book that would then help feed onto his obsessions with puzzles and problem solving. As he gotten older, Edward became a master at mind games and riddles, excelling in his classes and acing tests; this caused a burning scorn and jealousy from his father, who in turn would lash out with accusations of cheating, harshly beating him in the facade that he was keeping Edward from lying and cheating in school. Due to these beatings, Edward found himself with the compulsive need to be completely honest, so to keep from spilling his plans, Edward developed the strategy of explaining the truth of his crimes through riddles, which suddenly became obsessive, and now he can't even leave his own crime scenes without even dropping a single hint!

When Edward grew older, he left home and joined the carnival, using his skills and performance to scam the carnival goers. However, this life was bland to Edward, and it wasn't long after until he gained his name as The Riddler, and begun divulging into the grit of Gotham criminals, serving as a messenger of sorts for the higher up to harass and confuse the authorities. The Riddler didn't stay in that life for long, soon breaking away from serving under those higher in Gotham's underworld, becoming a super villain of his own. Years he went living a life of crime, gaining the power and wealth of most “costume freaks” who were good at their jobs; his name was heard amongst those like the Penguin, the Joker, Two Face, and Scarcrow along with many others. However, all of this was shattered during one fierce battle that put the Riddler into a coma for a year. Waking from his coma, the Riddler lost his memory and his compulsion for riddles, but he still kept his high intellect and boastful personality.

At first Edward didn't know anything, not even his name, but gradually he's gaining back his memory of his past life, and though now that he doesn't live a life of crime, his new job as a private detective weren't always morally correct... for the suspect. More of a neutral than a hero or a villain at the moment, Edward made his first rebirth name in the public eye as P.I Nashton, than his former alias The Riddler; he's no longer “such a bad guy”, even when he's starting to remember more and more about his past, he continues to show signs of never going back to villainy crimes, but his cynical personality and bigotry views on those less intelligent than him keeps him at arms length from being a true hero.
Other: Edward once knew Batman's true identity, but that went away with the many other dire information that had been lost during his coma; however, he still keeps in contact with the caped crusader, and seems to suspect who the Batman really is—either by the memory itching at the back of his brain, or the fact that he's such a damn good detective, even Batman can't elude him any further.

Today, Edward truly did take on the life as a good guy, mainly because his intellect get's a whole hell of a lot more attention when used for “justice”; however, Batman, who had shown distrust towards him on many occasions, doesn't seem to believe him, he once even gave Edward his newly acquired question mark staff, though it was noted to have a mic and tracking device in it, so that Batman could keep tabs on him. A year living this normal life of good, Edward went through many careers, he once worked in forensic studies, but that was the last of his crime fighting days as he settled in a job of actuary, until eventually stopping at a stable career as a financial analyst. Edward still have troubles with lying, so he's in fact a rather honest guy, though he knows how to not say anything at all, he just can't utter a lie without showing some signs of obviousness (or going into a hyperventilating attack); so he tries to do as little incriminating things as possible, keeping his words, answers, and motives curt.

Name: Trishell Boom
Alter-ego: Tera Byte; Truffle; E-cho; Riddler's girl (this would induce eye gauging, and not to herself)
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Formerly worked with the Riddler, Gotham's Channel 3 News, would never acknowledge it, but technically is in the grope H-Drive
Superpowers/abilities:
Eidetic memory – She can remember things nearly picture perfect, this often give her the appearance of being highly intelligent; yes, her IQ isn't lacking in the slightest, but she is no super genius by far. Though, who needs smarts when one could look at an answer once, and remember it for a lifetime?

Heighten Empathy – It's nothing supernatural, but Trishell is a rather intuitive person, and can tell the mood of others just by watching their body language, facial expression, eyes, and tone of voice. Because of this, she might seem like a people pleaser, since she knows what can set somebody off, it also turns her into a grand manipulator, since she can mold herself into what people want her to be, hiding all her ulterior motives from sight. This also mean's she's a great actress, and can change her emotions to fit the mood as well; though this hypersensitivity often set's her off to mood swings if she's caught off guard (or toyed with, or harassed enough).

Minor Puzzle Solving – It's hard to be associated with a guy like the Riddler and not improve on one's riddle solving skills; Trishell's no master, but she can guaranty it would be the last time she was ever locked in a room due to the fact that she solved a riddle incorrectly. Trishell hates riddles and puzzles, and would rather blow up the whole problem than solve it, but she's still able to solve it, if she have to.

Tech Geek – Trishell is an amazing inventor, and this is where her intelligence lie. This, along with her photographic memory, all Trishell has to do is take it apart to be able to build it again and again from pure scratch. She's an expert hacker, and is beyond computer smart; many of her weapons are things she created herself, along with her teammates, though the blueprints are nearly 98% percent hers, and that's being rather modest.

Hacker Suit – Trishell's most prize invention is the one she wears on her body when she becomes Tera Byte; the suit is a full body, electro-wired armor like gear that has her main computer built into it. The suit is like a computer that she can wear, it helps her hack into other technologies, and practically does anything else a normal, high performance computer can; however, she'd be damn if she were ever to use it for just surfing the web. Besides being a computer, it also protects her from multiple things; it protects from mainly being electrocuted, as she have to jam her fingers into circuits if she ever wants to disarm other technologies that doesn't run on a hard drive (or is more difficult to penetrate wirelessly); it can withstand minor sharp objects (preferably dull) though it can be punctured; it blocks minor friction burn; and is fire-retardant (one for class A and B fires, though it would need to be extinguished fast). This suit is rather dangerous as it can short circuit and electrocute the hell out of her, but Trishell makes sure to tune it up every once and a while (more so if it receives damage).

Gun Smart – Many of the Riddler's henchwomen were pistol tooting spit fires, Trishell was indeed one of them; she knows guns from all shapes and sizes, and the proper etiquette in handling them. This is one of the many skills she learned from her former boss that she actually enjoyed. Trishell is mostly seen with double hand guns, but she's no murderer (though that doesn't mean she hadn't murdered before), so killing isn't the first thing on her mind; though, she holds no mercy with her guns either, meaning she'd use them for just about any reason.

Fighter – Trishell isn't the biggest of women, or the strongest, in fact she's pretty weak and frail, but having the trained arts of fighting gives one a bit of an advantage over those who don't. Anyone can fight, but only the strongest will overpower, sadly, she's not the strongest, so most of her fighting is in defense.
Appearance: Trishell has brown hair the color of wet mud that's varied in length through the years, but is now a short ear length. She has a hazelnut skin complexion and dark brown eyes. Being about five foot seven, she's rather tall, and has an average built for her height, though she's more hips than anything, giving her a pear shape. By day (or rather, on the job) Trishell is often seen wearing some sort of skirt suit, as required of her for her job; she's hardly ever seen out of formal wear, and if she is, than she's probably in a wife beater and jeans of some sort (sometimes a t-shirt, if the job calls for getting dirty). In her villainess costume, she wears her electronic computer suit that is rather cyberpunk in style, and is mostly black for camouflage and for the fact that she didn't design it to be fashionable (mostly the later). Efficient as a mask, for protection, and for full functional features of her suit, she wears a black helmet.

Bio: Trishell grew up in ritzer part of Gotham, too bad her mother was a less fortunate showgirl, her family consisted of Broadway women, and the only father figure in her life was the guy who owned the company (though there was a chance he could possibly even be her father). Trishell was raised like any other common poor child, though she was taught on dreams of glamorize lives and sparkly items; Trishell then made it her goal to become rich and powerful, through any means necessary. Trishell managed to go to school for the first half of her life, but around the age of sixteen, she dropped out since she thought it was a rather waste of time if she ever wanted to be rich by the time she turned eighteen, so joined her mother's path of Broadway to try and gain her wealth through fame; earning her the stage name Truffle. She never hit it off as far as her mother did (which really wasn't that far, when dealing with Broadway in their day and age), though she wasn't half bad, it was just that she wasn't exactly passionate in it. She didn't dabble in that lifestyle long, becoming a pick pocket for a short time, she wasted away her teen years doing bad things, even joining a gang who of which were keen on house robberies and a few arson (they gang mugged a few people here and there). Trishell grew bored of that too, and even went back to school to get her GED, which wasn't hard, thanks to her great memory. In college, Trishell began to dabble in robotic studies and gadgets, her and a few students creating the most absurd, though often dangerous, contraptions their minds could think of. Though her life was calming down of her juvenile antics, she sort of became a kleptomaniac, and still occasionally stole things from people, or shoplifted at stores; her favorite were often novelty, antique like items—the old were her target for a while.

Around the age of nineteen, Trishell—and another girl—was recruited by the Riddler to work under him after entering a gadget contest together, which they won. The other girl became Query and Trishell became E-cho, of course, they were not thee Query and Echo, as many girls came and gone to occupy that spot. This is when the two began dating—in actuality, he was indeed dating both her and Query—as was expected of the Riddler's henchwomen. Trishell was never really a girl for relationship, so far finding herself to be rather asexual, though she was always a rather influential girl, plus with the Riddler being so egotistical to the point of charming charisma, Trishell couldn't really say “no”. However, the relationship wasn't a normal one, as being a girlfriend was more in title than in action, but it was mostly platonic due to her stoic sexuality; Trishell was the eye candy, and Query was the “stress reliever”. Trishell thought of relationships (all of them) as pointless time consumers, so Riddler treated her like a puzzle, and tried to crack her. It was an affection game the Riddler was going for, to see how devoted he could get the girl to him, and he succeed in the end, managing to get her to confess her obsession for him once he found out the trick to her heart; though that meant the end of their working together since the problem was now solved—she was boring. Given a loving note with a riddle on it, that would match up with one given to the Batman, Trishell found herself in a droll situation that ended with her in the black maria being shipped off to Arkham in lieu of the Riddler.

Trishell was in Arkham for a while—sentence to life due to the heavy debt the Riddler managed to push onto her—though six months really wasn't that long seeing as she managed to break out by the distraction of a chance ruckus, which in turn released a few other dastardly villains. However, six months was long enough for Trishell to turn shrewd and bitter towards the Riddler, to where she found it healthy to just forget about him all together—meaning never mentioning him ever. again. Arkham did nothing to change her, as she was back on crimes within the next few days; though now with the experience of a super villain, Trishell continued her path on bigger crimes. Trishell soon had her own disguise—no longer E-cho—and her own name, becoming Tera Byte, and even gaining her own connection in the underworld with those who could help her on the hunt for that which were rare and priceless.

She's currently teamed up with a man named Juan Dean, who goes by Cable; he enjoys stealing artwork, and is often along side Tera Byte on her burglary. There's another girl who's gadget savvy named Ami Clear, her alias is Pixel, and the last, and newest member, is a computer hacker named Bryan Rift who goes by the name Virus.
Other: Trishell currently works as a news reporter for Gotham's afternoon news on channel three; though she is the one often called at the scene when there is an event present to be reported. Trishell use her job for her crimes as often she face report stories of valuable items appearing in Gotham's museums, or other venues like jewelry stores or, her favorite, antique shops (or maybe just a frail old woman who collected the last antique vase of some sort). When in the day she cover the scoop of a newly valuable pink diamond settling in Gotham's favorite jewelry joint, Trishell becomes Tera Byte at night, and swoops in to steal it.

Her group members were nameless when she recruited them, so they found it fit to name themselves after computer/technological themes to match her name, which spurred Bryan into thinking that they should all be called Hard-Drive for their group, though when said, it's often shorten to H-Drive (all this only by him). Trishell find this silly play on their names completely unpleasant, and refuse to make it official (though the teenager doesn't seem to care for her opinion on things). Trishell hates to be called anything other than her given name and her alter ego “Tera Byte”, though Bryan is always pushing his luck by calling her silly name's like “Electric-Girl”, or "Computer-Chick" and “TB”—that one she really hates!

Trishell is rather asexual, as she's not attracted to flesh, she's attracted to riches and power, which is why she “fell in love” with the Riddler. Still, her motives are fueled into being the richest woman in the world, yes, a bit more exaggerated than what she really expects, but what she expects isn't that far off. Trishell is also still a slight compulsive kleptomaniac; if something really catches her eye, she may forget herself and attempt to pick pocket it, which had gotten her into trouble a few times.
