Sister's Secret, Brother's Curse [Ask & Me!]

Drake licked his lips as he stopped in front of the black leather chair now, the fire behind him was hot at least it would have been if he could still feel the sensation of heat anymore, he looked at the woman in front of him. To any human she would seem to be incredibly beautiful and she was beautiful but they would only see that, unlike Drake who now could see and feel the aura of power she gave off towards his kind to let them know her.

"I have found that the intelligence is correct there are indeed hunters in the city" Drake said in a low calm voice, suddenly there was a snapping sudden in the air like a whip and his head snapped to the side, a six inch cut was on his cheek now. His Maker had simply waved her hand through the air and the air had cut him open, "do not patronize me young one I knew for a fact that there were hunters in the city now tell me where they are". As she ordered him about the cut on his cheek healed up forming new smooth skin, "I do not know, I have only seen one so far the base is still unknown" he said in a calm tone still while looking at her with cold eyes.

His Maker scowled at the knowledge and then pulled a folder from her chair slowly "this is the leak in the hunters network and she doesn't even realize it" she said confidently as he handed him the folder. "She is young and naive believing that she isn't being watched" as Drake opened the folder up he saw his little sister's picture in there and he groaned on the inside, "I want you to torture her, corrupt her, whatever you wish to make her give you the information". Drake did not let a single human emotion pass through his eyes "fine it shall be done" he said in that calm tone of his, with a wave of her hand she dismissed him and he was a storm of thoughts as he walked out the door.

Lily turned another corner in the metal jungle of storage units and found herself faced with a dead end. She reeled around and brandished the stake she had brought with her. She began to run down another corridor, looking for some exit... it felt as if some of the storage units had moved, she didn't remember making this many turns when she entered.

She turned another corner and found yet another dead end. There was a soft noise, a drip in the corner of the dead end. "Hello?" She called out, voice shaking with fear. "Whose there?" She said as she walked closer to the noise. There was a liquid dripping from the corner of the unit and in the darkness she could not tell what it is.

She got closer and there was a noise that sounded like a figure cutting through the air, and the drip ceased. She looked down at the puddle and placed a single finger in it, and as she raised them into the shine of moon light, she saw the glint of red.

Lily gasp and stepped backward, her back hitting something soft and solid. She turned quickly to see a figure standing blocking her way and as she took a second step backwards, the figure slumped motionless to the ground. There were tears streaking her face from fear at this point as she moved to check the body.

It was an unknown man, middle age... it looked as if his throat had been slit. She looked up and saw the glisten of water in front of her. Without a second though she ran for the opening into the main dock area. She arrived without issue and quickly turned, running towards the main streets as fast as possible, the cold air biting at her lungs, burning them with each inhale she took.

Drake shook his head as he walked down the steps and now in the house coming from certain doors he could see other younglings or newborns along with some of the older vampires coming out. The mistress of the house was no longer so upset so they did not have to avoid being out in the open, a youngling who was only a year older than Drake smiled cheerfully at Drake now "oh what happened today? did mistress's new boy make a mistake?". Her tone was cheerful but it was far from nice and he could hear the venom dripping from it, Drake looked at her with a cold gaze and then reached his fist up to slam against the marble edge of the stairs shattering it, shards were sent flying and he bared his fangs at her with a growl in his throat.

The girl's smile vanished instantly she might have been older than Drake but it was only by a year and he obviously had been trained when he was a human, "I was only kidding" she said quietly before backing away slowly. Drake's fangs pulled back and he walked towards the front door slowly, he didn't even bother to close it as he walked out with a blood lust emanating from every pore on his body as he had one of the toughest decisions of his life to make now. His maker obviously did not know that the young woman in the folder was his little sister, but she had ordered him to corrupt or or torture the information out of her and he knew that if he told her she would only relish the chance to make it harder for him.

He wanted to be away from this place away from these people, no these monsters he thought to himself as he broke out into a jog which was still far faster than most things on the planet. If he did this she would release him from her rule and he could go wherever he wanted, he wouldn't have to obey her every command and he wouldn't have to kill those he drank from anymore, he might not be an angel but he could be better than the monsters they were he thought to himself.

But if he did this, if he tortured his little sister his own flesh and blood to find the other hunters and then kill them all would he be any better than them he asked himself sadly, he didn't have to kill her though, the little thought wiggling it's way into his head now. His maker had said that he could corrupt her instead, that was surely better than killing her wasn't he asked him unconvincingly, but the want to get away was so great he wasn't thinking rationally, he slowed to a halt on the sidewalk now, could he really do this?

(I have work tomorrow and monday so replies will be limited so you know.)

Lily looked behind her as she continued to sprint down the quiet, main road. She could barely see the dockyard anymore and the adrenaline that had driven her to get this far away was beginning to wear off. There was a burning in her lungs and she was finding it hard to breath in the dry, cold air. She stopped running and braced herself against the edge of a wall to keep from falling over.

Fatigue dulls the senses and makes someone sluggish, and panic creates knee-jerk reactions. If it wasn't for the little bit of heightened awareness she had still, it was possible that the events that then unfolded would have ended in a much worse way. She took her hand from the edge of the wall and began to walk past the alleyway. Her mind didn't have time to register as a pair of arms shot out and took her by the shoulders, reeling her into the darkness of the alleyway.

A figure was frozen in front of her, it's mouth inches from her neck and although her eyes were squeezed shut, ready for the horrors of what was to come. Her body didn't cease to move. Her hand was still clutching the stake, which she had inadvertently driven forward when she was wrenched from the sidewalk. She pierced the chest clean and as she looked up at the shadowy figure, she pulled her hand back and the Vampire in front of her ceased to exist.

She was crying and trembling. Her mind too sluggish to process what happened, she dropped the stake right there and continued her walk home in a state of shock.

Drake paused at a brick wall and turned to face it, his hands laid out on the rough cold surface before he drew back his head and slammed it into the brick wall with devastating force. The dull thud of skin and bone smashing into the brick could be heard echoing through the empty streets, he felt the pain but it was such a small amount him, his skin tore open and bones cracked but he could feel them melding back together as if none of it ever happened.

He wondered what to do as he held his head there, the bricks had crumpled inwards to make a small dent the size of his head now and he just stood there for a few seconds. He knew that if he refused to try and get the information from his little sister that his maker would punish him and just send another in his place, they would most likely torture her rather than try to corrupt her as some would and vampires are very good at torture he knew. They could tell when the person was on the verge of death by listening to their heart beating, it was easy to know how to inflict the most pain without killing the target and when to stop so they could recover, it was sickening he had seen it up close before.

But if he were the one to do it then he wouldn't have to hurt her at all he thought to himself, if he just corrupted her instead then perhaps he could get her away from them all because he would be free of his maker. He pulled himself away from the brick wall now and smiled just the tiniest bit, she did not have to suffer he thought to himself and she would be safe not to mention he would be free from his maker it was the best of everything wasn't it he asked himself optimistically.
