It was only then that Kiana looked down and frowned, realizing the state of her dress. "Lund! This was the only dress I had... again!" she shook her head a little as she fixed it the best she could but anyone that looked at her would likely figure out quickly the exact cause of such a tear in such a spot. She was going to be embarrassed until Nessa finished her last dress and then she was gonna make her friend rich with how often she would end up having to replace those dresses.
As Lily came in, she was actually followed by three servant girls. The first carried a tray with assorted mid-morning type snacks to munch on before the evening meal. The second carried as bag with Kiana's items from the other room she had been staying in, and the third carried two dresses draped over each arm. While the girls went about setting everything down, another two men carried in a large tub and started filling it with water while Lily spoke. "I figured you'd want to rest after your many adventures in the last 24 hours or so but now that I heard you were awake," she smirked a little and Kiana blushed getting the idea that Kiana had REALLY heard them in the act, "I thought to bring you some things to relax from the road. A bath, something to hold you over until the noon meal as well as a few dresses you can borrow of mine Kiana. They will need some fixing but I already spoke to Nessa and she said she can make them fit you like a glove in no time at all." After all, Lily was a good inch shorter so a bottom trim would need to be added as well as the seams in the chest let out a little bit.
As all the servants finished up their tasks, soon it was just the three of them and Lily spoke a bit more candidly, "I really am happy for you both. Father has decided that the ball tomorrow will both be in your honor and in Jak's for the arrangement of marriage." She grew a little serious then, and gave a hushed warning. "I would stay out of Jak's path a few days though. He's not to happy over being suddenly saddled with a wife that should have been yours and you with the wife he had taken a lusting after I think. He's not in the best of moods right now."
