As Charlie put an arm around her, Karen could feel her muscles tense a bit, not because she was scared of Charlie, but because she could remember the last time the two of them were together: when they were in the Intensive Care Unit of the children's hospital, waiting on the results of the tests the doctors were running that would tell them if Roxanne was deaf or not. The two of them had been arguing and yelling at each other the whole time. It took a few minutes but she relaxed in his arms. "Hillary won't be mad, it's Roxanne I'm worried about. You and I both know that, in her eyes, my leaving was her fault. She thinks I left because she became deaf." She said with a sigh, hoping Roxy would forgive her. "Lunch sounds great." She said, smiling weakly at him.
As Bob brought his hands up to Roxy's face she moved her hands on top of his, stopping them from moving just for a minute. "Bob, shh, it's alright. I'm no Hillary and I'm not freaked out that you asked. I'm not going to run away because I'm scared, either. I'll stay here as long as you want me to." She said before releasing his hands, hoping it had helped to relax him, if only a little. She closed her eyes as his fingers ran over her face, studying the ways it had changed in the eight years since they had last seen each other. When his fingers reached her hair and ran through it all the way down to the end, where it stopped just before reaching her bottom. When his hands reached her shoulders she felt him stop when he realized it was her soft skin he was touching and not the material of the shirt she was wearing. "Yes, I'm sure it's okay." She said, leaning in and giving him a peck on the lips. "You aren't going to offend me, my wolf."
