As Katie came and stood next to Lopez, the hand he was playing finished. Someone else around the table had one and for once, Lopez didn't mind. In fact he barely noticed. He pushed his chair back from the table a little and moving quickly he pulled Katie down so that she was sat on his lap. She smiled and wrapped an arm around his neck, placed her other hand on the side of his face and leaned down and kissed him hard... passionately. All the time she fought back the nausea; focused on her ultimately objective. The other men around the table were barely concentrating on the deal; in fact the dealer probably could have looked through the pack and selected the perfect hand for himself before dealing cards to everyone else and no-one would have notcied.
As Katie continued to kiss Lopez, she felt his cock beginning to come to life underneath her. He raised one hand to her tit and mauled her through her shirt and the other came to the back of her neck and held her in the kiss for minutes. When he pulled her away, he looked at her, she at him, smiling, wondering whether he was going to remember. Suddenly from outside there was the sound of a gun firing. Most of the people in the bar got up and made their way outside. Lopez barely moved.
"Maybe we should go somewhere private." Katie said to him softly.
Lopez couldn't understand what was happening. He didn't know who this whore was and yet there was something about her. He flicked through his alcohol sodden memory, moving from one whorehouse to another... but couldn't place her. Usually poker came before whoring, but this one was different. She looked better than most of the girls who worked in the Palace and he might not get the chance later on. He pushed her off his lap and stood up, about to head upstairs. She took his hand and shook her head. She stepped back, trying to lead him to the back door of the saloon. He hesitated for a moment, looked back to the stairs, to the front door where everyone was gathered just outside, then back to Katie and he started to follow her.
Once outside in the back alleyway, Lopez grabbed hold of Katie, span her around into the wall and immediately started to kiss and grope her. She made no attempt to fight him off. But as she kissed him back, as she let his hand move down between her legs, her right hand moved into the pocket of her coat and gently eased out the colt. She eased it between them until she could gently place the end of the barrel under his chin and then she gave it a slight shove. Lopez froze, eyes opened wide to be met by Katie's steely glare. Slowly he backed away from her a little but she kept the gun pressed tight under his jaw.
"You dont remember me do you, you son of a bitch" Katie asked him in a voice barely above a whisper. "Im going to refresh your memory... and then Im going to kill you... " Katie moved from the wall, and the pair of the turned 180 degrees until it was Lopez who had his back to the wall. Katie reached down and slid his gun out of the holster tossing it behind her. Then she backed up a couple of paces, keeping the gun pointed at his head.
"Jack Crenshaw. His brother Jimmy. A man called Berk. And you. Two years ago. A ranch... just outside of Victorville." At that moment Katie saw the recognition appear followed by the hint of a smile. "Oh yeah... we made a Crenshaw whore out of you... although as I remember, you were a pretty good cocksucker from the start." Katie pulled back the hammer on the colt, causing Lopez to stiffen a little. "You won't get away with this..."
"Doesn't matter, you'll still be dead." And with that she pulled the trigger hitting him just off centre in his forehead. She watched his head tip back with the momentum of the bullet, saw the explosion of his brainmatter across the wall behind him as the bullet exited and then watched his entire body pitch forward. Once she saw him hit the ground, she put the gun in her pocket and jogged away passed the rear of a couple of buildings before re-emerging onto main street. Whatever had happened out to pull people out of the saloon seemed to have been overtaken by the noise at the rear of the saloon. As she had expected, on hearing her shot, most people had seemed to have cut through the saloon itself by which time she was already out of the alleyway. Once on main street, she walked calmly but quickly back to the hotel. She didn't have long before people in the bar would realize that she was the last person anyone saw with Lopez. She headed in the back door of Charlie's, straight up the stairs, scribbled an apology to Charlie (and leaving him $10 for the room and the food). The note also told him 'It was Lopez!" and told him to tell JP that she would wait for him at the lake just south of Victorville... if he was still happy for her to go with him to the Crenshaws. With that, she went back out the way she had come in, went into the livery and, again after leaving the livery fees plus a good tip, she slipped quietly out of time less than 10 minutes after killing one of the men who had changed her life.
