What happened? One minute, he was walking down the sidewalk to get to his house, and the next . . . a splitting headache. Josiah Lockhart had a good life. Great family, good job, fantastic friends. He even had the eye of several ladies from both work and . . . well, everywhere else.

Now, he was just starting to wake up somewhere. It was oddly hot; hot enough to sweat through his clothes. Opening his eyes, he was staring silently at the craggy ceiling, heat waves visibly passing over. It was hot! "Ugh..." Josiah groaned, sitting up as he held his head, fingers running through the strands of black hair. His glasses then steamed up, and so he took them off and cleaned them off before looking around. He gasped sharply; where was he?!

Before him was an expansive land of mostly red cliffs and more heat waves. Spouts of fire and lava shot up into the air, only to disappear into the dark depths of the air. Then, without breaking his gaze to the sight in front of him, he peeled off the heavy jacket, exposing the toned and athletic physique under his white dress shirt. He was currently sitting in a small cave, noticing the demoness behind him. Where was he..?

Crouched on her hands and knees she stared at the male quietly, her red eyes staring at him quietly as he seemed to be coming to. Sitting back on her knees, she watched as he stood up and observed where he was. She had brought him to her own little rocky ledge, amongst all the others. Standing up, she folded her wings behind her back and waited until he turned to look at her. She was not quite sure what she was going to do with this man but she was sure she would have a few ideas.

A smile split upon her face, her fangs protruding a bit as she saw his gaze fall upon her. "Welcome to hell." Her voice was quiet, but not dark like one might think. It was sultry and young sounding, matching her young looks quite well.

Her red eyes gazed down his physic as his jacket was now left in his hand. The earth above had been entering its winter season but down here, here it was always hot. A constant balmy your-going-to-sweat till your dead again type weather.

Licking her lips with a very pink tongue she pranced over to him and then over to the lip of the rock they were standing on. Her arms out wide as she turned to look at him. "What do you think?!"

Josiah's fingers rubbed his temple gingerly, the migraine slowly ebbing away. His ears then picked up the faintest of sounds, his body went rigid in fright for just a moment before gathering his courage. Turning his head, Josiah's gaze fell upon the young, utterly gorgeous woman that was standing before him, smiling widely. However, his intelligent eyes quickly noticed that she wasn't human.

The most noticeable thing about her was the horns that spiraled from her nest of long raven-black hair, and the pointed ears that were front-and-center, along with the red eyes that stared at him. For the moment, he ignored the fact that she was barely clothed, though he couldn't help but look how her figure moved with each step. But his concentration was broken as she passed him, not registering her words as he sat there, wide-eyed at the pair of leathery black wings upon her back. Josiah was in a form of shock and disbelief . . . that is, until he finally listened to her words, prompting an even more shocked expression.

"I'm . . . WHERE?!" he yelled, trying to get up to his feet, but he noticed that his weight felt a bit different. Heavier. Because of this, he fell back onto his ass and cushioned the blow with his hands and the jacket that lay under him. "Wh-Who are you..? And why am I in H-Hell?" he asked, shock slowly coming back to his senses.

Putting her hands onto her wide hips, her head preceded to shake a little bit. "I"m not deaf." she told him "so there's no reason to shout at me." Walking on the balls of her toes she pranced over to him, almost looking like she was floating as she did. Coming to a stop in front of him she bent over at the waist and looked at his face up close. "Your in Hell because I brought you here." she told him, that large smile still curving her pink lips.

She found his movement and his voice ultimately adorable, the fact that he wasn't used to the new heavier gravity here made it all the better. Lowering her slender arm, she held out her hand so she could help him to his feet. "Believe me, it's going to be much better than back on that polluted infested planet of yours. You can have anything you want here." she said cheerfully. "and you won't have to worry about anything."

This was getting more and more absurd by the second. Now it looked like she was walking on air..? Absolutely ridiculous. Josiah looked into her eyes, his own flickering to the tattoo beside her left eye, and felt his body tremble a bit. Despite his own caution and fright, he silently inhaled her scent. It was most unusual, smelling of fire and brimstone, but . . . it was erotic, and arousing for him. She was also now much closer, and he could see the large breasts hidden underneath her wrappings. This caused him to briefly look away as a light blush reddened his cheeks, though for all she knew, it was because of the damned heat.

Josiah didn't take her arm, instead grabbing onto a rocky hold and pulling himself up, wobbling a bit as he attempted to take in his surrounding. "What are you talking about? I had everything I needed - and wanted - back home; besides, I know about Hell. The worst place imaginable, right? Only criminals and sinners . . . are forced . . . here, or at least that what Christians . . . say," he replied, his breath getting heavier, panting as he tired to get used to the heat. He obviously wasn't religious, otherwise he would most likely be begging for his life. Instead, he needed to stay cool in an alien and most likely dangerous situation.

Watching him with fascination in her red eyes, she tilted her head and watched his eyes gaze around on her face. She seemed oblivious to his gaze upon her breast so she mentioned nothing about the coloring of his cheeks. Putting her hands on her hips, she stood up straight and watched as he pulled himself up using a rock. "It looked like to me you were having a miserable time." she told him "Which is why I brought you here!" her cheerfulness took a turn as her lips turned into a slight frown and she glared at him.

"They tell you that because they don't know what it's like down here." she replied "Only mortals have given accounts to what they see down here, and yes they are partially right but sometimes Hell is just a better place for people." She told him, her finger standing straight as if a teacher given a lecture to a student.

Tilting her head again she watched his hard breathing, smelling his sweat as his body tried to cool him down from the hot temperature. Rolling her red eyes, she walked across the hot rock, and dug around in a corner for a moment, throwing things behind her before finally standing up straight again. Holding a band in her hand, it looked like a brilliant color of turquoise. Shimmering across the surface as the fires of hell hit it. Walking back over to him she held it out to him. "Put it around your forarm, it will keep you cool so you don't actually die."

"Then Hell must be horrible then. I had - no, I have a great life above. You're ignorant!" Josiah growled, but the glare that gave him shut him up for the time being.

As he listened to her explanation, he knew that she was either lying or that she was actually telling the truth that it was good here. Despite this, he shook his head in disbelief. "Then what the heck is Heaven?" he countered, having the sudden urge to yank her finger off. But, again, he shook his head. "No, never mind. Just take me back!" Josiah barked, letting go of the rock as he stepped forward. However, he wasn't completely used to the gravity and stumbled forward, threatening to fall off the high ledge of the cave.

She blinked as she was yelled at, still holding the thing in her hand. "Heaven is where all the really good but snobby people go." she told him. Then shut her mouth when he yelled at her again. Frowning she folded her arms across her chest and glared. Only to lunge forward a moment later to save him from plummeting down. "Would you sit down until your body can get used to the change?!" she yelled at him.

"Woah!" Josiah exclaimed, experiencing a moment of weightlessness as his body tilted over the edge. His eyes then flashed to the delicate hand that gripped his shirt, pulling him back to safety. Sweat rolled down his face, wiping it away as he looked at the band between her fingers. "Thanks..." he muttered, though ironically, he was in this predicament because of her.

Reaching out, he took the hand and pushed his sleeve up, exposing his toned arm. Slipping it on, as soon as it touched his forearm, he felt much cooler, and could breathe easier. Taking it a bit more easy, he stood up, steadying himself before his feet finally decided to rest easy on the ground. "There," he said, smoothing his shirt a bit before looking out over the cliff. "Who are you?" Josiah inquired seriously, narrowing his eyes as he spied a small city in the distance before looking at her.

She watched the red from his face and the sweat disappear as the band cooled his body down. Her red eyes stared at his arm silently and nodded her head "It looks good on you to." she said with a grin. Then let her eyes go back to his face once more. "It shouldn't take much longer to get you used to the gravity here. Pretty soon you'll be able to walk like me!" she said cheerfully.

Tilting her head once more she tapped her chin a bit and smiled at his question. "I'm Kalix." She told him, holding out her hand to him for him to shake. "I already know your name."

Josiah, in response to her compliment, rolled his eyes, shoving the sleeve down to hide the band. "I don't want to get used to the gravity. I want to leave," he replied.

Once she answered him, saying her name and holding her hand out, the young man eyed the finger warily before extending his hand, shaking hers lightly. His body shivered at the contact; he hadn't been with a woman in a while, and the demoness' touch was utterly magnificent. "Kalix . . . how do you know who I am?" he asked, then turned his head to see a narrow path that went down the cliff. Looking at it, he asked another question, "So you're a succubus, then?"

"well I'm not going to let you." she told him with a wide smirk on her pretty face. Shaking his hand gently she nodded and then retracted her hand from his so she could put them back on her waist. "Wellll cause I got bored, so I went to earth and have been hanging around for a while. I kind of spied on you." she told him looking rather proud of herself.

A loud snort came from her at his question and she shook her head "Oh hell no." she told him "If I was a succubus we would have already mated and I'd have your soul." she told him. Taking a step back, she turned and began to walk "Come on I'll introduce you to my division."

As he listened, Josiah narrowed his eyes in anger and clenched his right hand. He felt an intense burning in the palm of that hand. Oh, he was angry. However, he stayed quiet, wanting to save his questions for later.

He quirked an eyebrow as she replied to his guess and began to walk away. He hesitated in following her, cursing silently before knowing that he had no choice, and followed. "Division?" Josiah asked as they walked down the path.

(bah I was going to reply on my phone but it's such a pain in the butt)

She nodded her head gently "Divisions, levels of hell where they categorize us." she told him. "My division is the place where a lot of us chose to come down here, then there's the place where a child's soul goes to, or deeper down mass murderers. Hell has levels, the more you go down the worse the souls or spirits." Nodding her head she glanced back at him as she walked to make sure that he was still following behind.

Her wings remained folded against her back as she walked down the narrow path "We each have a job to do here, we don't just sit around on clouds and play trumpets and chess."

((Haha))

Josiah, in spite of wanting to leave, filed away the information she was giving him for later. After all, it could be of some use... "Why a child's soul? Or are they the part of souls that can come here as a reward?" he replied.

His eyes flickered downwards, seeing a small caravan of looked like a carriage moving through a canyon. There were armed guards - faces totally shielded by a helmet - moving in time with the carriage. Something must be valuable in that...

(Whoa it didn't tell me you had posted!)

"No just the really rotton souls that would have turned out to be murderes if they haden't died." She told him. Walking along the path, her eyes gazed down at the moving caraavan and then looked back up at him. "Come on there's lots of people to still meet!" She told him, starting to walk again until she got to the next ledge.

This forced Josiah to halt in his footsteps, the shock returning when she spoke. "Wh-What? You condemn children for what they might do? That's insane!" he exclaimed, peering over the ledge before following Kalix once more.

"So, is this "stealing humans from their home" a normal thing for you guys?" Josiah asked as they got closer to the bottom, too concentrated on the caravan to notice the flicker of movement above them, and the soft, snarling hiss in the air.

"Well we try to stop the spirit from getting onto earth before the child is born but sometimes they manage to sneak in." She told him "We don't like condemning children but sometimes it's necessary." Stopping on the last ledge she looked back to make sure that he was still following and didn't fall off or something..

Her laugh that came from her voice was light and full of amusement. "No." she replied looking at him "We only do it, if we believe the human to be miserable and personally." she paused and pinched his cheek and wiggled it a bit "I thought you were adorable." Giggling a bit again she took a step forward and stopped, lifting her head up as her sensitive ears caught the hissing.

Josiah scowled and smacked her hand away. "Oh, then thanks for ruining my life, Kalix," he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. However, he couldn't deny the beauty of this demoness; out of all the men on earth, though, why him? He wasn't the strongest, the fastest, or the most handsome, but he was incredibly intelligent, which went hand-in-hand with his cynicism.

The young human looked around just in time to see a blur of red, along with a blood-curdling roar. Creatures landed upon rocks and ledges, surrounding the two. Their flesh was of a dark red, with black eyes that stared into their souls indefinitely. Small wings were on their backs, stretching every once in a while as their long claws scraped the rocks. "Give usssss the human, Demonesssss..." one of them said, clicking its throat in warning.

She ignored his sarcasm and continued to look up, trying to figure out where the demons were going to come from. She didn't realize how many there were of them until she noticed they stretched out around them in a circle. Getting tighter as they got closer.

Grabbing Josiah's shirt she pulled him closer to her. "No way, I got permission from the higher priest to take him." she hissed back, "Go find your own human to steal!" Her face had changed, her eyes had gotten narrower and her fangs longer. She was slightly bent forward as she spoke to the one that had opened it's mouth first. Her wings were tense and ready to move in case she needed to fly.

"Woah!" Josiah exclaimed as he was yanked forward, and cocked an eyebrow at her. "You WHAT?! You even got permission?!" he roared, but his outrage fell on deaf ears.

The demon cackled, his voice raspy as he responded. "I'm afraid not. We want that one . . . the one called Jossssssiah..." at Kalix's tension, the demons did the same. They couldn't fly, but if Josiah were to be scratched by one of them...

Growling louder, her wings spread open more and she pulled him closer. "He's mine!" she snarled at them. She wasn't exactly a strong demon and she didn't know how fast she could get him out of there if she flew.

They were going to have to though, waiting at this point was to risky. Stretching her wings to their full width, she grabbed his wrist with an iron grip and shot to the sky. Hoping that they would get out of this. She didn't want to know what these demons would do to him if they got a hold.

Josiah barely had time to say something or scream as hye was taken up into the air. Amazingly, the grip that Kalix had on his wrist didn't hurt, but the air was knocked out of him for a moment, rendering him speechless.

"Oh my..." he murmured, staring down at the expansive, seemingly-endless stretch of land as they flew.

Glancing down at the demon's below them, she gave a sigh of relief that they were out of that mess. Looking down at him, she struggled a bit to keep them in the air. Eventually she gave up and then just drifted towards a cave that was set back in the rock from a small out jutting.

"Monte!" She called as they got closer. Beating her wings, she set him down on the ledge first so she wouldn't drop him and then gently put herself down, eventually sinking down to her knees panting.

A few minutes later a very tall, and very lean man came out of the cave. His arms looked to long for his body, but he was dressed impeccably. A clean black shirt and dark black pressed pants adorned his lower half. His face was handsome despite some scars running across his lips and cheeks.

Standing there he towered over them silently, staring down at the two before him. "About time." the man finally replied to her. "Come on in."

Josiah immediately felt relief as she let go and allowed him to stand, rubbing his wrist gingerly. It didn't hurt before...

His eyes looked up to the man called Monte, and narrowed his eyes cautiously. When they were told to follow, Josiah stayed where he was. "Who are you?" he asked.
