((No, I don't think that he'll know she's Angel's mom, but he could recognize her as his own mother. Do you want her mother and stepfather together when he runs into his mum in the market?))

Angel smiled wider as Dresden moved around to kiss her and she returned it before softly moaning into the kiss, one of her hands wrapping around his neck. It amazed her that just a kiss from him could make her want to return to his bed and never leave. Once he pulled back, the young woman pouted slightly before smiling up at the man that she loved. Seeing him glance at the clock that look at her with a forlorn look on his face, she knew what he was going to say and sighed before nodding. "Unfortunately." she said softly. Slowly standing up, she watched him grab his keys and she giggled at his comment about keeping her there with him all the time. "No, we probably wouldn't get much done." she agreed with a giggle and gentle blush.

At his side, she followed him to his car where she got in after he opened her door and she reached over for his hand as he drove her home. At her home, she glanced at it before kissing him back. With another sigh, she got out of the car and head up to the house, glancing back as he drove off before she entered the silent house. She knew her mother was out at market. The older woman went at least once a week because the market always had fresh produce for a great price.

((I say he recognizes her but no step-dad, he has seen Dresden and Angel together when he dropped Angel off even if he didn't get the best look. So just a one on one meeting.

Dresden got out of his car once he reached the market and walked inside, running through a mental check list of the things he needed as he moved. He ended up in the aisle for spices and stopped when he noticed a woman looking at the spices and recognized her. He stopped in his tracks and stared dumbly at the figure of his mother, who he hadn't seen since he was a small boy. His heart started to pound, his tongue went dry, his inner child started to weep and call out to her. He shook himself mentally for a moment, he realized it could just be someone who looked like her or similar. He slowly approached the woman.

He cleared his throat when he reached her and tried to seem pleasant. "E-Excuse me, you...look familiar to me..." he said a bit lamely. He hated himself for it but he could never remember his mothers name. He knew he probably looked foolish like this, probably was making the woman nervous by his spontaneous approach. His heart though latched onto the faint possibility that she would recognize him.

((Okay. And I don't remember if I named the mother earlier, so I'm renaming her if I did. >.< ))

Daphne slowly made her way through the market, pushing her cart along the aisle of all sorts of spices they had available. She was shopping for that weeks groceries and knowing that she was running low on some of her spices decided to see what was available. She had just taken down a container of pink peppercorns when she heard a voice and she turned to look into an all too familiar face and she froze, her eyes widening while her lightly tanned skin paled a bit. The container in her now slack grip, slid from her fingers and fell to the floor at her feet as she gasped softly. "D-Dres." she stammered, using the pet name that she used to call him when he was a small child.

It had been years since the woman had seen her son, her ex having refused to let her see him and all of the birthday and holiday cards she'd sent to Dresden came back marked in his fathers hand writing 'return to sender' until she was informed that Dresden and his father had moved. After that she couldn't find him. It had been a very hard time for the woman, but luckily she met the man who had become her current husband.

((Did we agree that they were going to be full blooded brother and sister or half brother and sister?))

((lol fine by me if you rename her, and as for half-siblings or full...hmm I think we went with half, if not...we are now! Angel can be from an affair the mom had))

Dresden watched her turn to look at him and saw the look in her eyes when she did. He couldn't help a big boyish smile spreading across his face when she called him by his old nickname. "Yeah Mom...its me." he said softly, moving forward and hugging her. He had tears going down his face as he did. He hadn't believed his father when he said his mom didn't want to see him anymore, that she hated him. But he had never heard from her so a part of him had worried that he hadn't been lying.

"Why didn't you call? why didn't you write?" Dresden asked, his voice showing the child inside who had desperately missed his mother. He couldn't believe his luck running into her like this in the market. He thought his mother would have moved away at some point, that she wouldn't be in this town anymore. He hadn't dared hope he would find her here. He had avoided thinking about it.

The woman made a sound of surprise when he suddenly moved forward and hugged her, her eyes wide as she stumbled a little before she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back tightly, closing her eyes while she held her long lost son close to her. She felt tears filling her eyes as she held him. Because he got his height from his father, he was taller then her but she held him as tight as she could. When he asked why she didn't call or write, she shook her head slightly while stepping back a little and gazing up at him. "I-I tried." she said weakly. "But your father had the number changed and I sent letter upon letter as well as cards for years but they were all sent back until your father moved."

The pain of what his father had done, showed on the womans pretty face and in her eyes. Looking up into his face, she reached up and cupped his cheek affectionately while smiling. "Oh... you've grown up to be so handsome Dresden." she said softly.

Dresden watched her as she stepped back and looked up at him, it was so strange to him after all these years, suddenly finding himself having to look down at his mother's face, when he had to look up before. He listened to her explanation about the calls and letters, he suddenly felt a hot anger at his dad for cutting them off like this. But then, he remembered the reason why. "Mom...did you really have an affair while with dad?" he asked softly. "Did you...really get pregnant with another man's kid while you were together?" he asked, a child like hope in his voice that she would say no.

He looked at her, his eyes on the brink of tears. The hope that she would deny this written in every part of his expression. Even so it was clear he wanted the truth even if it would crush his hope.

Daphne could see the anger in his features after she told him of how his father had cut them off but when he asked about if she had an affair while she was with his father, she felt her cheeks flare up with a hot blush. She could hear the hope in his voice and it made her wish to cry knowing that she would have to tell him the truth and she sighed. "I did have an affair with another man." she said softly. "Your father and I had been growing apart for a while and I was weak, Dresden. And yes, I ended up pregnant, but that's not why we split up." She looked around, making sure that no one was too close to over hear their private conversation. "I didn't find out about being pregnant until after your father and I split up. He found out during the divorce proceedings. His lawyer did some nosing around and he some how found out and told your father. That's how your dad won custody of you."

Dresden waiting for her answer, his heart beating faster. When she sighed and told him the truth he felt like his heart was plummeting downward. He hung his head for a moment and reigned in his feelings, he couldn't believe that his mom could do something like that. "Why...why did you split...why did you cheat?" he asked softly. Obvious hurt in his voice. He looked at her, he clearly wanted answers. But then a customer came into their aisle and Dresden straightened and dried his tears. "This isn't the time or place to talk about such things..." he said, his voice barely hiding the emotional turmoil he was in.

Daphne felt her heart ache when he hung his head and asked why they split up and why she cheated, closing her eyes as she ran a hand through her hair. She was about to answer when another customer came down the aisle they were in and Daphne quickly picked up the container that she'd dropped in her surprise when she saw him. "No, it isn't." she said softly. "If... if you have the time, we can go down the street and talk over coffee or something." she told him. "Or we could talk some other time." She was leaving the choice open for him in case he needed time to think about things first.

Dresden thought about it for a while, long enough she wouldn't be sure if he was going to respond or not. Eventually he slowly nodded. "Coffee down the street." he said softly. "I....I have shopping to do...just meet me at the coffee shop." he said softly. Then he turned and walked away, basket in hand while he scanned the shelves for what he needed. He showed a measure of strength in the fact he was able to focus on the task at hand despite his emotional turmoil at the moment. If his mother could recognize this strength of character her son showed she would feel incredibly proud of the man he had grown to be.

Daphne was about to tell him that it was okay if he didn't want to when he spoke and she swallowed softly. At his comment about shopping, she nodded slightly. "Yes, so do I." she said softly. She watched him turn and walk away without another word and she felt her heart constrict in her chest. She could indeed see the strength in her son and she knew he'd grown up to be a great young man. She just wished she'd been there to see it. Sighing, she bowed her head. Putting the spice into her cart, she turned and began along the aisle. About twenty minutes later she was checking out and soon had her bags loaded into the car before she head down the street to the small coffee shop. She thought about just waiting in the car but she needed to get something to drink, even if it was just coffee so she head inside and picked a table in a private corner of the shop where she waited.

Dresden thought about the meeting with his mother as he moved through the aisles. He felt pain that his mother had indeed cheated on his father, but he hoped by talking to his mother he would get some answer he would understand, even if he didn't like it. Dresden avoided any frozen food items since he knew he probably wasn't going to be heading straight home and may be a while. He went up front and paid for his groceries, then went out to the parking lot and loaded them in his car. He got in and sat still for a minute, thinking. He could just head straight back home and not have to deal with whatever answers his mother gave him. He could just dismiss her as a whore like his father had. It was the fact his father had did it that made Dresden change his mind, he had never liked how quick his dad was to judge people without all the facts. So he drove to the coffee shop.

Dresden got out of his car and walked into the shop, it was semi-busy so a few of the tables were taken. He noticed his mother at a more private table away from the others. He first went up front and ordered himself a hot chocolate. He hated coffee but most coffee shops made excellent hot chocolate so he always got that whenever a friend had asked him to take them out to get coffee. Once he had his drink he walked over to his mother's table and sat down across from her. He watched her for a moment then took a sip from his drink. "So..." he said setting it down and looking at her seriously. "You said you had answers for me...right?" He waited, eyes intent and still hurting a little.

Daphne sat with a cup of chocolate and caramel cappuccino when he entered, her hand absently stirring the spoon inside of it when he entered. Hearing his voice, she looked up and watched him approach with his hot chocolate before sit with her and she sighed softly. Looking back down, she took a sip of her drink before nodding slightly when he spoke. "I have answers to your questions. Ask and I will tell." she told him softly. "I've only ever been honest with you Dresden. I may of lied to your father, but not you. Never you." Her eyes showed that she was telling the truth as she looked at him.

Dresden watched her face as she responded and he saw the truth of her statement. He sighed and nodded a little before clearing his throat. "So...why did you cheat on dad? What was going on back then that I didn't know about? Did you really get pregnant?" he asked her. He leaned back and sipped at his hot chocolate as he waited for the answer to his question. His chest felt tight at the prospect of what he was about to hear but he knew it was best to get the truth of the matter while he could.

She sighed as he asked a series of questions and she closed her eyes before looking up at him. "Your father.... When we married, we were very happy and very much in love but.. your father is very quick to pass judgement and he became paranoid that I was cheating on him. At first I wasn't, but as he came to believe I was and we began having arguments over where I had been, who I was with. Things like that." she told him softly. "After that, your father and I started sleeping separately. It was only after we drifted apart that I started an affair with a man I worked with. It was a short affair, a month or so long. There was no feelings involved other then lust." When she got to his question about her being pregnant, she sighed again and took another drink of her coffee before nodding. "Yes, I had gotten pregnant from the affair." she told him.

Dresden watched her face as she answered, he remembered his parents fighting when he was little but never paid attention to the words of the argument, he just would hide and go to a little happy place while they fought. He took a moment to process what he had just learned, he felt a little tension ease at her explanation though he still hurt. He knew his father was quick to pass judgment, every time Dresden had been just a little late to get home his dad had assumed he was out with some whore, or getting drunk, smoking weed. His father's paranoia about such things made Dresden serious about avoiding all of them.

He thought about the fact his mother had been pregnant too, he knew it was at a time when abortions were a lot less common when his mother was pregnant, not to mention the fact his mother was already an adult and a established woman, she wouldn't have had one. So he looked up at her. "Do I have a sibling then?" he asked.

She was quiet while he processed what she'd told him. When her and his father got divorced, he used all of his accusations to paint her as some kind of filthy whore that fucked every man she came across before dealing out the fact that she was pregnant from her affair. He made the judge believe that she was some horrible person that didn't give a fuck about her own child. The man who she had loved since she was a young teen had turned on her and stolen her son from her with his lies. "Yes, you have a sibling." she said gently.

Dresden suddenly got a pained expression. "I have a younger sibling...and I never met them..." he said softly. His father had never had a child with any woman after his mother. When he had spoken with a doctor he had learned he was, for all intents and purposes sterile. The only reason Dresden had been conceived was sheer dumb luck and his mother's own incredible fertility. Dresden himself had been tested after this revelation and was not sterile like his father. "Do I have a brother or a sister?" Dresden asked his mother softly.

Daphne nodded with a sigh. "Yes, you have a younger sibling. Just one though." she told him, her voice gentle. She let him take it in until he asked if he had a brother or a sister and she smiled gently. "A younger sister. You have a younger sister. She's not too much younger, obviously though." She stirred her coffee again before placing the spoon aside and picked up her drink, taking a sip of it. She had spoken with her current husband about having another child, but they both agreed that just one child at the moment was fine and if they changed their mind later, they could always have another. After all, they were both still young.

Dresden sat there and absorbed it all, he couldn't believe he had a sibling. He leaned back and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. The pain in his chest was lessened now, though he was still somewhat mad at his mother and father. But currently that was over-ruled by the fact he had a younger sister. He still was just having trouble believing it. He looked at his mother now. "Is...is it alright if I meet her?" he asked softly.

(Sorry it's taken so long to reply.)

Daphne gazed down into her coffee, picking up the small container of creamer that sat on the table and poured some in with a little sugar before stirring the hot drink, letting him take his time in processing the information she'd just given him about having a younger sister. When he finally spoke up again, she looked at him, arching an eyebrow at his request. The woman was quiet as she sipped her drink. "I will have to speak with her first, but yes, I suppose you could meet her." she tells him. "I... She doesn't know she has a brother, Dres. I didn't want her to know about a brother that I never thought she'd meet."

The woman set the cup down with a sigh and a sad look on her face. "I wanted to tell her so badly, but if she knew she had a brother and that your father had pretty much refused to let you in our lives, she would of been crushed. I know she's always wanted a sibling."

(Im really sorry I haven't been able to reply. I don't have very much free time these days and have moved in with relatives. I currently borrow my nephew's computer and really do not want a 12 year old who has no restraint on what he talks to everyone about bring up this site at the dinner table. I may reply and delete the page from the history but I would rather get my own computer here. It may be a little while until I get it here so please be patient. :) )

((Oh, it's quite alright. I have the same problem. Unfortunately, my ex went and told my whole family that this is the kind of things I do on the computer. So now I'm just trying to keep my nieces from finding out.))

(I'm back and ready to post! Let's see if I can get it right though...)

Dresden clenched his fists at his mothers words. "Who the fuck was he to decide I couldn't know my own sister?" he said venomously. He couldn't believe his father would do something so cold to him. He stood up from the table and sighed slightly. "Mom, I want to meet her now...before Dad finds out and tries to mess everything up, I want to know now."
