“I wouldn’t have left without you, girlie,” the raven-haired woman state. “I would have just waited out here with my apple and we could have gotten out of here when you were done having your fun inside. Judging by that bastard’s skin, I’d say that he’s fed tonight or, at latest, last night. You would have been… safe with him.” The woman turned her head again and spat. Whatever happened between the two of them, Willow really didn’t like having anything positive to say about her former companion even when he wasn’t around.
“Aw, is little Willow starting to miss her vampire boy-toy?” The voice had come from a man sitting atop a car parked several spaces behind Willow. How long he had been there was anybody’s guess. He didn’t look like a vampire but then again, neither had Gabriel and now that the color was returning to her skin and she had calmed down, neither did Willow. Good vampires were known for their ability to blend into the world around them and hide among humans without being seen or heard. Guessing his height would have been hard because he was sitting with his legs crossed but he looked about the same size as the Master. In fact, he looked a lot like Gabriel with a more narrow facial structure. He was even wearing the same attire save for the addition of a belt and an unbuttoned black shirt. His hair was about the same length but it was an earthy brown as opposed to that charcoal black.
Whoever this man was, it would seem as though Willow knew him just by his voice because she’d frozen the moment that he’d muttered that sentence. Her eyes drifted shut and she took a single deep breath before she opened her eyes and returned her attention to the girls. “Will you be alright going inside, girlie? I don’t think we’ll be able to change Rachel’s mind on the matter.”
