Akira woke up early as usual in a typical Monday morning. She needed to get ready to go to school, today would be a long day since she had work to do. Being the president of the class had it’s quirks but more often than none she needed to work double as hard to keep up with the stuff of her class. Most of her class were people that most likely always were into sports so she often incorporated that into their school activities. Being skipped a grade because of her high intelligence they knew very well that they could count on her for almost anything. With a sigh she stood up and walked into the shower. The water was warm and it relaxed her muscles that were so stressed up.

After the bath she hummed as she walked to the living room and grabbed a toast with her mouth that her mother had prepared and left her house waving goodbye to her family, little did she knew that it would be the last time she would see them. Taking a deep breath she walked into her bicycle and made her way a few blocks into the school. The weather was perfect for riding and in those days she often did not got the car because she enjoyed the air. Once she arrived at the school she smiled as she parked her bicycle on the corner and locked it with a padlock before walking into class and sitting on her usual seat besides the window.

Koga was early to rise this morning, today he'd even beat his alarm clock as the battery-powered buzzing had just begun to sound off. Yesterday after his father had returned from work he explained how he'd met with an associate who's daughter attended the Archery club with Koga. His father had no idea until then that his son was even apart of such after school activities and was overjoyed to hear that Koga was already at a professional level of marksmanship. It was the first time since his early childhood that he'd actually sat down and had a conversation with his father that didn't involve grades or scholarships, this was something he enjoyed and obviously his Dad did too.

Koga reached his arms out and stretched far feeling the bones cracking along his upper back and shoulders. He opened his mouth wide and yawned before scrolling a hand back through his disheveled hair. Springing from his bed he pounced onto his clock and silenced it before making his way to the kitchen half-dressed in only a pair of black sweat pants. His dad had already been waiting, his hair was perfectly cropped and he wore his black business suit as he sat quietly at the table. There was an elaborate antique case laid out in front of him that was buckled shut and bound in leather. His dad spent the next hour explaining how the contents of the case had been passed down from generation to generation and that he should take it with him today. It was odd to see his dad so excited for the first time in years and Koga couldn't help but crack a smile.

After a quick shower he threw together his school uniform, his white button-up was left un-tucked as usual and over his outfit he wore a black jacket with white fur on the cuffs and around the neck. It was a brisk day but Koga could still ride his bike, shouldering his backpack and handling his father's antique case with one arm he peddled his way to school. He arrived ten minutes before class and stood his carrycase upright in his locker just outside of the classroom. He closed the door and set the dial on his combination lock before strolling into class still five minutes early. Koga had long light-purple hair, a pale cast of skin and deep-set eyes like amethysts. He had a lithe build and youthful complexion with angular features as he settled in his desk near the back of the classroom. Koga unlimbered his backpack, slid it onto the ground and slumped back in his chair, his face was expressionless and his eyes lazy as he waited for the lesson to begin.

Hiyami Mitsukiri cheerily went through her morning routine as was usual - just like every other day, right? She didn't bother with make up - she never did - and instead took a shower, changed into her uniform, grabbed a piece of toast, kissed her mother (her father was already gone), and headed out.

Only to go back and leave again because she'd forgotten both her lunch and bow. By that point, she was running a little later than usual, but would still arrive early. Ten minutes early, in fact. Just enough time to swap out what she did and didn't need at her locker and get situated before Koga had arrived. They were in the Archery Club together - although it was more of a team. He was one of the best among the males and she was his counterpart among the females. Unlike her, though, it seemed he'd either deposited his bow with the team gear or he'd left it in his locker. She'd brought her bow with her, carefully placing it against the far corner of the room, well aware that it would bother no one and no one would bother it.

"Good morning, Isuzu-kun," she greeted him quietly as he got himself settled.

As Koga got nestled into his chair a feminine voice greeted him from behind, it was Hiyami the girl who sat two desks behind him. Koga must have still been a little worked up over the events from this morning or else he would have noticed her sitting there when he came into class. His conversation with his father earlier had taken so long that he was just barely on schedule and he never even took the time to check the contents of the antique case he brought in with him. He wondered if it was some kind of old bow that had been used by his ancestors a long time ago or something, if so what kind of use would he have for it now? The equipment provided by the archery club would be in far better shape and not to mention better fitted to his height and weight. He must have sat completely silent for almost an entire minute before turning to answer the girl.

"Oh, Good Morning Hiyami" he answered stiffly, there was a brief pause as Koga's eyes shifted towards the empty desk at the front of the classroom. "Doesn't the teacher usually get here before you do?" Koga asked as his eyes fell back on Hiyami

Hiyami smiled at him brilliantly. He wasn't the kind of person to speak so casually with just anyone, so she was pleased with whatever gains she was able to get. After all, if nothing else, she knew that he respected her skill... And probably her as a person, but one could never be too sure, right?

To his remark about the teacher, though, she gave a small shrug. "Sensei is out front greeting students," she said. She was referring to the tradition of a teacher checking that uniforms were on properly, decorum was being kept, and also to mark down late students. Still, the teachers that did so were usually specialists that didn't have a homeroom... "Whoever was on duty today was probably late." She gave a small grin. "So I was able to get here before sensei... Actually, sensei will probably be late. I heard Terada-sensei and Mitsuko-sensei -" She named two of the other teachers in their year. "Talking about how so many staff members have been out sick this week. We might get lucky and have a half-day... I wouldn't mind the extra time to practice, after all." She spoke earnestly and honestly.

He turned halfway around in his chair, his eyes were cold and calculating as they monitored the seemingly empty classroom. The girl was right, there had been a lot of absences due to illness lately, just another odd situation to add to the list of strange happenings that have been occuring throughout the school year. To Koga Hiyami seemed just as perky and eager as usual, he wondered if she'd noticed any of the bizarre occurances this year too or if he was just being paranoid.

"I wouldn't mind either.." the tone of his voice tapered off as he seemed consumed in other thoughts.

He shook his head slightly a winced before turning back towards her, eyes lazy once again. He didn't want to worry about it anymore, it was probably just his imagination getting the better of him again. He nervously batted a few wandering strands of hair away from his face and shot Hiyami an appraising stare.

"So have you been working on that form?" Koga paused for a moment "um you're shooting form that is" he said fumbling the words awkwardly

She watched as he looked over the room, well aware of what he was making note of. For a class that should start in about three minutes, this would probably make records for being a distinctly empty classroom. Less than half the students were there. Practice and her other clubs has been missing more and more people, too. It was odd... And probably some sort of wave of illness, but there was little they could do about it. They were only students, after all. Still, it was odd that administration hadn't sent out a notice or something of the sort... Or at least tried to track a reason for all the absences.

She gave him a warm smile as she saw his nervousness. There really was nothing to be afraid of. It's not as though she was going to bite him or anything. They'd definitely lose the next contest if she did - they were, as noted, at the top of the ranks in the team. "Yes!" she responded enthusiastically, not giving him an opportunity to feel awkward. Well, anymore awkward, anyways. "It's always so fulfilling to know when you're definitely going to hit the target! And sensei was showing me some ways to cut down on speed and tricks with aim... She already mentioned them to you, I think... Like when you're supposed to imagine the target in your mind as well as see it with your eyes... right?"

"Yeah I think I recall her mentioning something about that.." he said, seeming almost startled at first by her excited response.

It was definately useful information but Koga was lying just to keep the conversation going. His lips formed a half-smile as he realized that this was probably the longest interaction he's had with any student at school this year. Suddenly the earsplitting ring of the school bell reverberated through the hallways just outside of the classroom. Koga had almost forgot that he'd still not seen any of the other students yet or the teacher for that matter. He turned all the way around half expecting kids to be filing in through the doorway to take their seats, no one did. He wondered if today was even a school day at all, maybe school wasn't in session today and neither he nor Hiyami had received the memo but then why would everything have been left unlocked, plus! the hallways were filled with students when he got here this morning. Maybe it was just that the archery club got canceled or maybe this was all just a dream.

Koga could still hear kids conversing and locker doors slamming just beyond the classroom so was it possible that they were having class outside today? Koga highly doubted it, if so today would mark the first day the class had ever done that. He sat forward in his seat facing the front of the classroom with his fingers laced together on his desk. "Come on... someone walk through that door... anyone.. just someone" the words filled his mind as he sat silently waiting. Maybe everyone was on their way to class as a group today... but still something just didn't feel right, even if someone did show up there was still a strange feeling in the air today.

The Class room door was opened violently as the tall European youth stepped inside. The 6”3 tall frame was clad in a tack suit, one covered in sweat. He muttered some words in Dutch then English, finally remembering he was in Japan. “Please…” He inhaled deeply as he stood up. His grey as darted across the room, registering the half empty room and a lack of a teacher. He stared at his watch, then the clock again, finally setting his eyes on the students again. He steadied his breathing, while calming down. “I am Lance Osirus” he spoke emotionlessly, hoping he would not further embarrass himself. He took a seat next to another student in the back, one he recognized. The student was a fellow Judo player. The last few weeks they had been practicing judo in the school’s club. Lance explained that he had forgotten the first day of school.

- 15 min earlier-
His feet was propelling him forwards, moving faster and faster. His dad was right in front of him. “Come on son, you have to move faster than that” His father loved teasing his son. Not only had he been a top athlete in tracks, he often forgot his son had to carry a few extra pounds of heavy muscle. “Go…. Go break a… hip… or something” He breathed back while grinning.
When the due finally returned home, they were exhausted. “Not bad.. I only had to hold back by half this time” His dad teased as he pressed a finger against his side. “Now did you not have your first day of school today?” When his dad said those words, shock filled both their faces. A silent understanding crept in. Lance’s face said. ‘I am fucked’. His dad merely nodded. He rushed upstairs grabbing his backpack, before rushing out. Halfway during his rush towards school he found he still had the two heavy iron chains, used to lock his motorcycle, inside his backpack.

- Present –

Lance overheard someone talking about an assault last night. Someone’s brother had been bitten this morning by a strange homeless guy.

"Isn't it wonderful how much we still have to learn?" she inquired cheerily. "I'm really looking forward to practice today! Sensei's always so very helpful!" As it the school bell had known that she was done speaking, it tolled just at her last words.

And Hiyami had frowned at the continuing lack of students. While she'd expected their sensei to be a few moments late, she certainly hadn't thought it would take so long... Seconds bled into minutes and soon enough, she and Isuzu-kun had been waiting for someone to enter for a good five minutes after the bell. It was... odd. And extremely unnerving. She didn't want to be the odd one out and she certainly didn't want to seem paranoid, but she couldn't help the deepening corners of her frown. Several more minutes passed and the door was thrust open. She'd immediately shot to her feet to greet their sensei in the customary way, but it was not her.

Instead it was a foreigner. A tall one. He quickly introduced himself and then found a seat towards the back and immersed himself in a conversation with someone Hiyami vaguely recalled as being within the Judo Club. She'd sat down, her frown deepening even further. Hearing of the homeless man's strange assault, though, convinced her.

"Something's wrong," she murmured. It would be just barely audible to those sitting closest to her. She was speaking more to herself than anyone, but Koga would definitely hear her words. "Something is definitely wrong."

With quick steps Sandra moved through the hallway with a sound motion, her muscles gleaming in the lighting provided. She had been given permission to work out in the schools fitness room, and often when she did she lost track of time. Today was no different, after spending countless hours within the walls of the weight room she had trained and hard. Her hair bound tightly to her head while she bent and weaved with each punch of the heavy bag. Her brown watched the black object swing from side to side, attacking as though it was an opponent she blocked and attacked accordingly, but for such reason she was now late to class.

Slipping into the room, she held the yellow slip that read to the teacher she was late. Waving to some of the people inside she was quick to sit in her seat in the back of the room. Her body resting for the first time, since 5 this morning, and did it feel good. “What did I miss?” She questioned looking over to her peers, hoping to catch up and not fall behind because of her boxing passion.

“Er.. I guess uchi-ma..” He left that sentence hanging when the door opened. He imagined some teacher would come in, informing them about their teachers absence. What walked through the door was a little yellow paper, followed by a alethic female. He grinned as he recognized her. He had met her during his first week. He wanted to join the boxing club, she had given him the tour. He had sparred with her perhaps twice, but he knew of her prowess. A bloody nose had informed her that she indeed packed a punch.

Lance nodded as she took a seat in the back, next to him. His fellow judo player, Riku, also nodded. Repeating the same topic as before, Riku told her of the homeless guy attack. Lance nodded from time to time, almost as if he was there himself. It was hard for Lance in the beginning. His large size usually scared people off and if people did communicate with him, they usually spoke to quickly for him to translate. He was either a threatening ogre or a dumb jock. Only three months in Japan, Lance already had a solid grasp of the language.

Lance was just about to say something, when he stopped. A loud deafening scream was heard. It was the kind of scream that would make your hair stand up. Not a single soul could scream like that without a machete going through your liver. Lance rose to his feet quickly. He stared out of the window, hoping to see where it had came from.

Akira sighed as she looked outside, the gate of the school was already closed. On the other side of the gate was a man, from the distance she could not tell what he was doing but it got the attention of some teachers. One of the teacher, a big strong type looked at one wound the man had and tried to reach in to touch it. The man grabbed his hand and took a chunk out of his forearm , blood went everywhere as he fell down on the floor and started to cry out in pain. The medic looked up at him as he died and shook her head, a couple of seconds later she was bitten on the leg by the big strong teacher.

Akira's eyes went wide as she stepped up from the floor, "What the hell, look out there". She pointed at the gate where the scene just seem to continue the same, a couple of seconds later a screams were heard everywhere. Akira walked out to the hallway to find the big teacher on the hall biting student after student, "We should really get out of here".

Raven had woken up early in the morning, going for a run to clear her head since last night had been crazy. Her brothers had been arguing and their father was nowhere to be seen so before she knew it she had lost herself and ran for far longer than she had planned. By the time she got back home and got dressed for the day she was running late. She grabbed her duffel bag for clubs after school and took off out the door towards the school.

She had barely walked in the door when she heard the scream from outside and she only stopped for a brief moment looking out the window in the hallway. She squinted and shook her head thinking it had to be some sort of a joke as she continued to walk. When she finally reached the classroom and before she could open the door screaming began flooding the halls and she nearly ran into a girl, Akira from her class who said something about getting out of here. She was thoroughly confused now but when she noticed the big teacher biting students she didn't need any more convincing and she began moving past Akira away from the frightening scene.

She turned back to look at Akira, her voice was a bit shaky when she spoke due to the fact that she witnessed another student have a chunk of flesh ripped out by the teeth of the apparent crazed teacher, "W-What is going on?" She wasn't really expecting an answer but her confusion mixed with the fear didn't lead to rational deduction of the situation.

Hearing the shrieking coming from the halls Sandra watched as a crowd of people rushed to the door leading to the hall, she herself got up from her desk and went to see what was going on. What she saw however was something that not only frightened her, but caused her to raise her fist in the ready. It was a horrible sight, the spews of blood shooting from young throats like gasers as the rather sizable teacher devoured the flesh clean from there necks. This was unheard of, unlikely to even happen, yet here she was witnessing it with her own two eyes.

Watching as people rushed from the room, she followed suit trying to run as quickly as possible so she herself wouldn't be killed by the monster that this teacher had turned into. She found that most of the students running by her were of different grades and area's of the school that she hardly touched herself. Just what was going on and how much of the school had been bothered by this...well this horror epidemic that was plaguing the halls of her once calm school. "Can anyone tell me what's happening?!" She shouted at anyone running by her, hearing a similar voice ask the same question she figured most didn't know.

One by one Koga watched as a few stragglers finally made their way into the classroom, a wave of relief washed over him but nothing showed on his visage except boredom. He kept seated and held his gaze on the front of the room seemingly paying no attention to the rest of the class. He wasn't really interested in anything they were talking about but one conversation did happen to grab his attention, the one about the homeless attacker. Things like that weren't unheard of but the part about him biting another man was definitely a first. As much as Koga tried to fight the urge it was no use, he was thinking about it again.

then it happened...

Heralded by bloodcurdling screams, it was the culmination of all the strange activity that had been occurring since the beginning of the school year. A girl who'd settled in a desk near the windows suddenly went pale as she aimed a finger towards the ground outside the finger-printed pane of glass. Koga boosted himself out of his chair and walked casually towards her, with one brow arched he craned his neck and caught a glimpse of the gruesome scene taking place at the front gate. Other then his jaw clenching tight and his face contorting with disgust he showed no signs of being startled by the event and instead began backtracking towards his desk, a hand groping at his throat.

He paused, coughed into his fist, took a deep breath and suddenly his eyes went razor sharp. He walked passed his desk scooping his backpack up by a single strap in the process and slung it over his shoulder. He advanced steadily into the panic going on outside the classroom, his locker was three down from the door and in seconds he broke the combination on the lock and collected a few items. He swiped a half-empty bottle of water, his leather archery glove with reinforced fingers, his arm guard and lastly the cumbersome antique case he carried into school this morning.

Koga peeled off his jacket, rolled up one sleeve and equipped the glove and guard to his right arm. He deposited the water in his backpack, threw it over his shoulder and strode towards the classroom with his case in one hand leaving his coat behind. Students and faculty were crisscrossing frantically through the halls fighting and flailing but Koga moved passed the commotion halting abruptly only when he reached the open doorway to his classroom. He cocked his head and glanced over the threshold, his eyes quickly located Hiyami and he paused for moment until a bloodied student stumbled towards him with outstretched arms. Koga's eyes flickered back and without delay he hefted his box-shaped case towards the boy sending him sliding across the tiled floor with a grunt. Feeling like he was out of time he started making his way down the hall towards a distant fire escape.

Akira shrieked as she ran away from the teacher, she knew very well that if you get bitten then you will attack someone else and whatever it was it spread through bite. Taking a deep breath she screamed at the class, "Don't let them bite you. Whatever it is it spreads through bite". She looked at what was happening and she figured the best thing to do was to run to somewhere where she could bunk herself. "We need to find a safe place, otherwise we will be screwed". She groaned as she began thinking of a place where they could relax and perhaps find out what the hell is happening. She needed to find a place where they could bunk themselves until this all blows over. "Those of you who aren't bitten, go up to the roof".

She knew there was a small room with a tv that the cleaners used to rest in, it was apart from the rest of the school in the ceiling. Sealing the room shut would be the wisest thing to do at the moment. She ran up to the ceiling with a crowd of people that were screaming out. She did not knew if somebody heard her but that would be their best bet. She hurried up the stairs moving between the people to try and get up as fast as she could.

Raven heard Akira's suggestion and she had no better idea nor was she capable of coming up with her own so without question she began running up the stairs, the masses of students ahead of her and the few behind her massing together and causing the ascent to be slow and it was extremely frightening. She began to weave her way through the crowd, the screams of the unlucky ones who were not as agile as she was and the further screams of the panic ridden students all around her. When they were close to the roof something happened, it seemed like the chaos had somehow got in front of the group of students she was moving with and the people around her began going down.

Raven turned, self-preservation the forethought on her mind and she took off up the last flight of stairs when a hand grabbed her shoulder and as she looked down the blood smeared across the pale hand caused her to grab the arm and throw the body over her and down the stairs hitting another one of the creatures. She yelped and turned to continue running knowing that if she looked back or hesitated it could be her screaming, her blood strewn across the walls of the school. She just hoped when she arrived at the roof she wouldn't be alone... God she hoped she wouldn't be alone.

From the first shriek, Hiyami had immediately begun to move. She'd taken up her backpack and darted to the corner to grab her bow. Her protective gear was in her bag, so she didn't need to worry about that. What she was worried about was ammunition. It didn't matter if she and Isuzu-kun had bows if they had nothing with which to shoot. She'd darted out into the hall while people were gathering at the windows. Having a window seat had given her a fairly good view of what was going on - and she knew she needed to move to beat the crowd. As it was, she saw that people were already streaming out into the halls. Her eyes darted to and fro to seek out the boy she'd been speaking with, but it was to no avail. Hiyami took a deep breathe, thrust her arms through the straps of her bag and began to head towards the Archery Club's room. The arrows were blunted, but they were still arrows and, as such, usable against this strange form of violence.

She hadn't run into any of the strange people - but she knew she had to avoid them. When bitten, it seemed that one rose again to bite another. And the cycle would repeat. That much had become obvious when the scene at the front gate had played out. She heard several cries as she moved through the halls - against traffic, at that! - but finally, she made it to the archery room. She saw that another student had the same idea and she nodded to him as she began to load up on arrows. She took two quiver-shaped cases and jammed a couple handfuls into her backpack, simply opening the zipper enough to allow them. She was fortunate she had the room - she'd taken most of her texts and notes out because homeroom wasn't such a great concern. Her bag held only a pencil case, her equipment, lunch (which she'd forgotten to put in her locker), and a single notebook. A side pocket held a small hand mirror and cell phone. In order to make more room for the projectiles, she rolled up a sleeve and equipped herself with her gloves and guards.

Now, she needed to find Isuzu-kun. He was the only other one she knew had his bow... And she had arrows aplenty for the time being. She headed back out into the hall and towards an escape. While most students were heading for the main exits, she knew what he did - the main entrances and exits would become stampede grounds and quickly be the death of anyone clumsy enough to fall in the crowd. No, it was time to head outside... And, if she was reading the signs right, up. At the very least, others that headed that way would prove to be sensible... And she would have a group of sorts to work with in order to decide upon their next move.

After much fight against infected from the other people Akira could manage to squirm around and get to the roof of the building. She looked at a couple of students that were already showing signs of infection as they moved slowly toward her, "Shit...fuck....". She backed away as the group of three infected started to get near her. "H...Help...." she wasn't a fighter at all, she had no idea how to fight or was brave enough to do it. Backing away the best she could she found herself tripping on a metal tube on the floor.

She continued to back away as she began screaming out loud. She grabbed the tube and placed it in front of her as a fellow friend tried to bite her neck. She shook her head as she slowly stood up with the help of the wall and pushed the zombie down. She looked at the other two becoming more and more close. She moved away from them and tried to circle around them, they were strong but they weren't fast.

Rushing along the hallway she was heading for the roof as someone had suggested, that was until she saw a girl screaming in the corner. She was being surrounded by fellow classmates all of which were biting at her, trying to turn her into the very beast that she was trying to escape. She wanted to just run tot he room and leave her, but than that wasn't her place and it wouldn't be right to just leave a girl to die like that. Keeping a quick and calm head she rushed for her, pulling her fist into tight balls while she started punching at the students. Trying to block the maneaters while she shouted at the girl she was trying to help get away.

"Quick go! Go!" she shouted loudly, knocking her fist into the face of one of her peers, she believed it to be an old friend that she had lost touch with over the course of the years. But she couldn't really be sure, their faces were starting to fall apart with her punches, and the more they stalked towards her the more she knew that she needed to get out of there for her own good. Once the last punch was thrown she grabbed hold of her classmates arm and ran trying to help her out of this mess before they got bit. "Are you going to the roof?" she asked looking to her while she took the stairs three at a time to make it there before meeting anymore classmates with the infection.

Hiyami had just turned another corner when she'd heard a girl's weak cry for help. The infected hadn't noticed her yet. In fact, she'd noticed that as she moved, no matter how close she was to them, they would move towards those that cried out. It was a theory she planned to test, because it hinted at a lack of sight and dependence on hearing, which was definitely something they could use, but for now, she needed to help this female student.

She needn't have bothered. Another girl - Sandra from Drama Club, her mind distantly reminded her - moved to defend her. The two fled from the quickly amassing force of zombies and Hiyami, too, left the scene. She resumed her route to the fire escape and, getting to it without further incident, she began to climb the outdoor stairs, careful to take note of the spaces above and below her. One could never be too careful, after all, especially when the world seemed to be turning upside down and things were getting as crazy as they were.

As she advanced, though, she took no risks, holding her bow at the ready. Fortunately, she was one of the luckier ones. She made it to the roof without coming across any other... problems. Having gotten there from an outdoor route, though, she guestimated that she would likely be one of the earlier students to arrive considering that most of the infected seemed to have remained in place or attacked the nearest creature... Most of which were indoors.

Her eyes went wide as she saw the two woman coming to her help. Following them she knew that for now she was safe. Running up a couple of stairs and into a room, the room had a metal door that if locked it would be impossible to enter. "I...In there, I think we will be safe for awhile if we take shelter in there". She did not knew if inside were people but most likely than not it was empty, at these hours the workers would be around the school working. Taking a deep breath she opened the door and looked inside, it was empty enough for five to ten people to fit in.

The room had a small tv with cable and two beds, there were also cleaning agents around the walls. Taking a deep breath she walked inside and looked around. Finally the situation grabbed her by the throat as she just fell down and started crying out loud. "What the fuck is happening out there.... dammit". She took deep breaths trying her best to calm down as she looked at the two students that helped her, "Thank you both... for before...."

Gore mottled the floors and lifeless bodies were strewn about the expansive stretch of hallway providing minor obstacles. Bloody hand prints left streaks across the tiles and walls, doors were ripped from hinges, broken windows left shards of glass almost everywhere and crowds gathered as helpless students tried to fend off multiple attackers. Koga knew what this was but he didn't want to believe it, the school was playing host to a zombie outbreak and though he tried to ignore them all the signs were there since the start of the school year. He'd read about this in fiction novels when he was younger, it starts with one infected person and is quickly transferred to another typically through saliva. It doesn't take long for the virus to spread and take affect, that much was obvious now as most of the students and faculty around him seemed to have already fallen victim to the disease.

Long loping strides carried him faster and faster through the halls as the ambient moans and screams around him grew louder. Bloody arms reached for his ankles and grotesque bodies lunged towards him but he managed to just narrowly avoid them every time as he finally reached the fire escape. He ascended the outside staircase two risers at a time until he'd reached the roof where his classmate Hiyami was already waiting alone. He didn't say a word, instead he let himself collapse against the steel railing that stretched around the rooftop. He laid sprawled out against the floor, his chest rising and falling with every labored breath. He seemed more confused and exhausted than scared as he regarded Hiyami with a tired stare.

Raven finally made it to the roof door and she fumbled with the handle, the sounds from below making her actions slightly clumsy but she opened the door and bust out onto the roof immediately going to the railing and looking out. The sights below were horrifying, people being attacked and running from the very people they had been standing next to seconds before, not to mention the blood, it was even noticeable from on top of the school, the blood, that image would be burnt into her mind forever and so would the emotion that came with it... Helplessness.

She wiped a few tears away, people she knew, friends, they must be dead, even her brother who went to this school would be dead. She turned around looking at the door and she slide down her back resting against the bars of the railing as she watched the door. She wondered how long it would hold, wondered what or who would come through the door, and she wondered what would happen to her when it did. She would fight yes but all she had was her backpack and duffel bag and she was starting to lose it a bit, the morning had been so normal, what was all of this? It was insanity and she was frozen watching the door.

"I hope others make it to safety... I hope my family is alright..." she muttered to herself as her hand reached in her bag and she pulled out a cigarette. She lit it and took a puff the release from the addiction calming her slightly and her shaking disappeared replaced by a few more tears and a dreadful feeling in her chest.
