"Contract? You a bounty hunter or something?" Kira asked. Mentally, she was thinking oh crap oh crap oh crap. Kira had done of a number of crimes in her day. Petty stuff, such as pick pocketing and conning people out of money. If this hot angel babe was a bounty hunter, she was worried that the girl might be after her, and fate had nothing to do with it.
 
Ezri nodded. "At times. But I only take on bounties that accord to my duties tot he church. I don't chase thieves or swindlers, I hunt rapists and their ilk. The man I am hunting has been accusing of destroying the purity of five young women by force, but lack of evidence has let him slip through the legal system. The families of the afflicted have offered a bounty for his death. I will find him, divine the truth of the accusations, and either exonerate him or execute him, depending on his guilt."

She sipped a cup of hot tea, speaking as if it were nothing to kill a man. And the other four, even sweet Karina, didn't react at all to her declaration. These girls may be silly and a bit crazy, but they could be completely cold-blooded killers if the victim was someone they did not like, it seemed.
 
"So, should I just wait in town for you?" Kira asked, smiling lightly. That could work. Though, if she were to simply vanish before the girls came back, they might fear her kidnapped, and try and hunt down a non existant criminal, and eventually track her back down.
 
Ezri shook her head slightly. "That won't really be necessary. Word is the man is IN town. I suppose you could stay here but you said you are skilled with a blade. I was going to ask you to help me bring him in. You lack any sort of money, and I don't need the full reward. If you assist me and bounty is collected, I will split the reward. You'd be doing a good deed and it would get you the money to get back on your feet."
 
"Sure, I could tag along and help out." Kira replied, smiling, while cursing her luck in her head.........or lack there of. Everytime she had an opening to get away, something drew her back in. She was starting to think she'd be stuck with these weirdos forever. She was also tempted to ask why Ezri and Niki were acting so nice again, but thought better of it. The less she knew, the better.
 
It was almost like Tiva could hear Kira's thoughts. And given that she was a half-dragon, something so rare and unique as to be practically unheard of, who knew what her abilities were. Dragons WERE known to have many psychic abilities upon reaching adulthood, and her generous chest made it clear she was an adult.

"Don't worry about them, Kira. They do that. It's all fine now, right girls?" asked Tiva.

Ezri and Niki looked to each other, nodding in agreement curtly. Ezri then looked to Kira, smiling to the redhead. "So, would you like to eat? Or should we get started right away?"
 
"I guess get started. Don't want to be sluggish in battle due to pigging out on food." Kira replied, smiling. Her skill with a blade was at least one thing she didn't lie about. She was nowhere near Ezri's level, but she could hold her own.
