To be fair the BBC isn't what it used to be and generally speaking I think it's programming isn't a shadow of years gone by. As for their own productions Doctor Who can be quite good but stuff like Being Human and Torchwood are pretty awful genre shows.
Having said that their new horror fantasy series "the fades" is surprisingly good reminding me of Buffy, with all the humour and pop culture references.
