OK so some ideas for a less dark and fucked up sort of plot, expect some degree of darkness though because it adds some spice to the game, no?
The first idea was inspired by watching DollHouse. The romance between Topher and Bennett really caught my eye, the antagonism between them, the rivalry, the fact that they are both doing something morally reprehensible without really thinking about it. Now I am seeing two scientists working in a similar setting, both of them without any question doing something that might be considered morally reprehensible, perhaps both of them employed by a drug dealer working on new product or who knows what. One of them would have been doing the job for a while, cocky, arrogant and quirky, while the new girl comes in and throws off everything he is doing. But while at the same time they are competing a romance is building through the antagonism.
Another idea I had, and this one is one I like a lot... combine the concept of Harry Potter and Casablanca with a little bit of a civil war feel. Fifteen years after Lord Voldemort was defeated the wizarding world was faced by a new conflict, the wizarding world is divided between those that want to keep the status quo and those who want to live openly with the muggles. Just as the debate was starting to reach a boiling point the Boy Who Lived was assassinated, neither side taking credit for it... and after this an all out wizarding broke out.
At the time the role play is starting up the wizarding civil war has been going on for five years, the only neutral ground in the entire western world being Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, where a former Auror has set up a bar, at the onset of the war he was badly injured and rendered incapable of performing magic when a dark spell caused his wand to explode in his face. At his bar the one rule is that he doesn't get involved in the current conflict, any problems that you have, whatever side you support doesn't matter, just leave it at the door. This had all worked very well until his former protege comes to the bar one night, looking for sanctuary.
Now these are just two plots that I have right now... I am open to more romantic ideas later on, feel free to share them with me if you think you have something good.
PM me if you have ideas
