About Me:
My name is Michael, I'm twenty-two and I have a BA in English with Creative Writing. I'm currently unemployed, though looking, and this means I have a lot of time to roleplay and be online. However, I also write. If I'm writing, I'm not going to be roleplaying, and that's just how it is. If I say I'm writing a chapter, don't pester me to roleplay, because chances are I'll just get annoyed and drop you for someone who can be patient. That said, I generally reply at least once a day, depending on the size of the posts. If they're long posts, I won't reply as much. If they're a short back-and-forth that's maybe two or three paragraphs, I can reply in ten minutes. That's just how varied and amazing I am.
If you like Neil Gaiman, D/s, BDSM, NOT using the word 'member', love/hate relationships and making fun of a certain sparkling vampire, we'll probably get along. I also like Firefly/Serenity, Supernatural, House, Being Human and films. I watch a lot of film.
I can't stand: stupidity, lyrics in facebook statuses, homophobia, misogyny, racism, any kind of discrimination, improper use of grammar/words/your face, people that write a novel and think they can actually write, Stephanie Meyer (she falls into the previous category. And the first one, come to think of it), FOX, backwards thinking, leaving a canvas white and saying it's 'art', pop music, society and people in general.
Contact: I do roleplay over PM, thread, AIM, YIM, MSN and E-mail. Contact me via PM for any of my messenger details/my e-mail.
About Roleplaying:
I am a writer, and I prefer people that have a good grasp of spelling and grammar. I don't mind the occasional typo, but the best roleplays are with people that can write well. I'm not too bothered about length, I can post one paragraph or ten, but the quality of writing is important to me.
I don't use the words 'yaoi', 'uke' or 'seme', and I despise the character connotations that are implemented within these words. I do not want your snivelling, 5'5 half-Japanese 'uke' that's so willing to let some big, bad man take advantage of him. Neither do I want your 6'0, slender, dark-haired 'seme' with a rape fetish. I like characters that go against the grain. I like 6'2 submissives and 5'5 dominants. Most of all, I like characters that I can connect with, that have flaws and desires, and that seem real.
Although I enjoy D/s and the sub/dom relationship, I also very much like dom/dom relationships (and obviously switches are fun). I like a little love/hate drama, where the characters are sexually attracted to one another without liking each other.
I enjoy modern, 'slice of life' roleplays most. Character studies. But I also take quick porn RPs because porn is fun.
I love kink! Here is my f-list (not the only character I have/use):

Genres
Craving: Spanking, D/s, kinky things.
Right, before I start listing, let it be known that I will pretty much do any genre as long as there is a good plot or a good character behind it. I will play characters between the age of 14 and 60. I will double, triple and quadruple. I will play side characters. I will move the plot forward. I expect you to be able to put in a fair amount of effort toward plot and moving things forward. Please, please don't leave it all to me. And if you have a plot you've wanted to play for ages but no one else seems interested? Throw it at me, I might just play it with you.
The below is more a guide as to what I will do. I will do many, many more things than what are on this list. If it's not on there, ASK. I can already think of about seventy things I've forgotten.

Plots:
Sorry if some of these are kind of convoluted, but it's kind of hard to order my thoughts sometimes. I welcome your plots, too. Or any way in which you think we can merge two plots together. Also, I don't require that we use a plot to play - sometimes it's fun just to toss a few characters together.
1) Modern day 'slice of life' roleplay about a bisexual or gay man who has a young child, maybe 2-10 years old. He gets the kid on the weekend. I haven't really thought into this one too much, but I thought it would be interesting if he either was a 'deadbeat dad' kind of type with a minimum wage job etc and he came across your character in relation to the child. Maybe a custody battle is going on and a social worker has been appointed to assess the situation. Either that or the father is an extremely responsible kind of guy and the other character... well, isn't. Maybe he needs to take a lodger to make his rent or something, and the guy isn't exactly the type that he might trust around his child, so he finds out after living with him for a bit.
2) Medieval Fantasy roleplay. So this is set in a world where magic is quite a common kind of thing. It's your average kind of Med/Fant world with taverns and shit like that, but it has a difference – there are four 'kingdoms' within the land, and there's a civil war going on. Each kingdom represents an element for its royal line – air, fire, water, earth. The elemental magic within each kingdom tends to trend toward that kingdom's element. So if you were born in the kingdom who associates with the fire element, you would be trained in fire magic (assuming you were of either middle or upper class). Lower classes are much less governed, often receiving no training at all, but may have a lot of potential. People also have an innate strength in certain elements, although if you were born in the fire kingdom and you had an innate strength in earth magic, your potential wouldn't be realised. Not everyone would be at war with everyone – there would be alliances. Probably Fire and Wind vs. Earth and Water. This one needs an actual plot working out, I only have the idea for the world.
3) Modern Fantasy. This one is kind of complicated and unfinished, so again it would require participation to complete a possible plot etc. This one is set around a time rift, kind of. Basically there is a race of beings very humanoid in nature and appearance. However, years ago they were devastated by a virus that made it extremely difficult for them to procreate (think Children of Men) style. They have just cured the virus to an extent, but their population has dwindled to very low numbers. As such, marriages are arranged based on compatible genetic material, and children are extremely precious. Homosexuality is outlawed, and any homosexuals (or murderers or child molestors etc will be cast into a dimensional rift that has been found, presumably tearing them apart in an instant, much like a black hole except far more stable). My character would be such a homosexual, refusing marriage and being cast into the rift... except he wakes up in the 21st century and discovers that the rift is a kind of one-way link (as far as he can tell) into the past. Him and his race being what current humanity will later evolve into, in thousands of years. I'm not thinking very much physical difference – I don't want him to stand out too much. Perhaps taller than most humans, more willowy, a greater intellect. However, obviously he'd have come from a time where technology was much more advanced. He'd be a bit lost in the modern world.
So this RP can go two ways. Either your character can be another of my character's race and shows him the ropes, or he can be a human that helps him out and teaches him how everything works etc etc etc. Basically a relationship-focused roleplay. Orrr...
The virus that has been plaguing his race for generations, deforming infants and making it very difficult (although not impossible) to conceive a healthy child is actually a man-made one, being developed as a weapon. When my character enters the world, it has just been or is literally being released, and soon after the roleplay starts, the virus gets out of control, effectively making people either infertile or deforming the children they can conceive. However, my character's race actually has the cure for this virus, and upon realising that this is a more primitive version of his race, my character realises that he can prevent a great disaster from occurring... but he needs to get back to his time to do that. And he is completely lost in today's society.
4) Another vein of the above roleplay, except modern with no fantasy. Just basically a future (not by a lot, maybe ten or twenty years) roleplay where conceiving children is near impossible. Think Children of Men for this one. Society starts coming apart at the seams, and our characters would be one of the last generations born before the children pretty much stopped coming. I don't know where I'd want to go with this, but basically it's a dystopian future with a generation that has to deal with the fact that it has nothing to hand down culture to, nothing to be remembered by etc.
5) A modern 'slice of life' roleplay including a transgender character. I'm not picky on this one, but I really like the idea of a gay romance between a gay man and a ftm character. I don't mind which one I play, and I'm open suggestions. Note: If you don't have any experience in playing transgender characters, or you have no experience in the LGBT community, I suggest you leave this one alone, as you could be unintentionally offensive.
6) Modern Fantasy – werewolves and vampires. This is basically the plot of my NaNo for last year, but I've been kind of itching to do a roleplay on it. A werewolf saves a vampire from his pack, and then they go on the run together. Very simple, but an interesting set up for a love/hate relationship with a lot of sexual tension. I don't mind playing the werewolf or the vampire. I'm also interested in werewolf/werewolf roleplays that occur within the werewolf pack and have a lot to do with pack hierarchy and socialisation.
7) Dystopian future/post-apocalyptic roleplays. So basically if you want any kind of dystopian future roleplay I will love you. Machines taking over, dreary fights for survival, space stuff, I all love it. However I've seen a lot of very gritty movies lately that have the heroes running from cannibals a lot, and it made me wonder. These cannibals obviously has some kind of society going on, because they don't exactly eat each other. This kind of interests me, morbidly, so I'm quite interested in playing one of these cannibals. Either your character can be another cannibal or can be someone else that's survived this apocalypse or whatever, and has found other ways to survive than eating people.
8 ) Modern fantasy. One day, someone is looking through one of those junk stores, and they find a ring. They take a liking to the ring, and slipping it on, they go home. That night, curled up in bed, they start to read a page from a book, like they do every night. Then, much to their surprise, the character they were reading about materialises in the kitchen downstairs (or the bathroom, or the bedroom, or whatever). This character is a complete being, who has a very real life inside their book and yet they are experiencing life, real life, for the first time. They are unblemished and physically perfect in the way that only a character can be, with superficial flaws. And he just wants to get back into the book. Over time, he'd become a fuller, more real person, and no longer a character. He might fall in love etc.

The music was wrong. He would have expected it to be the sex or the people or the drugs, but it was the music. When they first came, it was like a dream. They swarmed everywhere, took him, nothing made sense. It was all light and whirring movement and icy steel. He woke up in a cold sweat, breathing hard, but Chris was right there to bring him down. They lay tangled together and Chris soothed him with sweet kisses across his salty forehead, his parted lips. Brent couldn't stand the tenderness, so he fucked Chris, and there wasn't anything different about that, either. Same ball of heat in his stomach, same tightening muscles, same thick, milky semen. Same feeling.
“What did you dream about? Was it your dad?” Chris murmured sleepily, after. He rested on his stomach, his head pillowed against his arms, Brent's come leaking out of him slowly. Chris was all pale skin, red hair and freckles. Too pretty, not really Brent's type, except he was and Brent loved him, in his own way. He just couldn't say it. Ever.
“No,” Brent said, letting out a quiet sigh. Orgasm had drained all the tension of the dream away. He relaxed, pressing against Chris' side tentatively. “No. It was weird. There were machines, and they were kind of like bugs, but also like people. And intelligent, I think- I don't... I don't really remember.”
“Weird,” Chris said, then pressed a kiss to Brent's shoulder. “Go to sleep. It's just a stupid dream.”
“Yeah. Yeah, I will. Thanks.”

Whenever he played, it was wrong. He couldn't get it right, couldn't get it to sound right. Like the tuning was just a little off, and no matter how many times he re-tuned the guitar, it wouldn't play right. He had perfect pitch, he knew when a note was off, and all of his notes were off. There was no fixing it. When he thought about it too hard, he got a headache, right behind his left ear. It was a sharp, persistent pain, and it wouldn't go away unless he left the guitar alone for hours.
Brent stopped writing music. He stopped performing. He couldn't afford a shrink, couldn't afford anything. No health insurance, no income. Like so many times before, he relied on Chris for food, company and sex. It was the closest thing to a relationship he'd ever let himself have. And day after day, he tried to tune his guitar. He bought new ones. He even bought a tuning tape. He went on the computer and tried from that, but nothing worked, it was all wrong. Something was falling slightly flat, something not quite right and he just couldn't – he couldn't...
He turned more and more to his drugs, not knowing that in reality he had detoxed, that he was completely clean and free of morphine for the first time in four years. In virtual reality, he shot up again and again, and he got the mellow buzz, the clarity, the numbness. There was nothing wrong with that, either. He was going crazy. Crazy.
Except he started noticing that Chris made meals on a shift pattern – one every seven days, although if he asked he could change the outcome. And he baked every other day, without fail, and always because he was upset by something at work or by something Brent had done. Never just because. But as soon as he thought it, Chris did, the very next day. He made muffins just because he wanted to, and the creeped out, not-right feeling just grew. Brent slowly realised that it wasn't just the music that was slightly off. It was the words, too. And the people. And the sex. And the drugs.
He took more morphine than he'd ever needed to. He filled up the syringe as far as it would go, sat in his dank, grungy bathroom with Chris humming in the kitchen. He looked down at his thighs, his raindrop-blue eyes unfocused. The scars were a mess, veins collapsed and hardened where the chalk had built up in his system. Maybe that wasn't real, either.
Brent inserted the needle, and he gave himself his last dose. He released the tie and looked up at the ceiling, the flickering light swimming as the drug entered his system. He counted back from ten... and woke up.
The material under him wasn't quite cotton, wasn't anything he'd really felt before. It was crisp, and it so real that he didn't even know how he could have mistaken the other place for being anything but a dream. His head hurt. Everything hurt. Feeding tubes under the skin, his back, his body. His body. Real. Here.
The light hurt his eyes when he opened them. His body protested mildly as he sat up, but less than he would have thought. No muscle degeneration. Just as toned as he was in the other world. Him. But no Chris. How long had there been no Chris? How could he mistake whatever that had been for Chris? Chris. Fuck.
Someone spoke. Accented. He wasn't sure where from. There was movement, thirty beds, thirty people, but not all of them awake. Some, though. Maybe. Did they turn in their dreams? Did they move? Or did they lie there still and twitch. Brent ran a hand through his dark brown hair, then over his face. Bristles. Easily a week's worth of growth. Needed to shave
“Yeah?” he croaked out of under used vocal chords. “I speak... English.” Didn't know where the fuck he was, though.
