Mel smiled, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you, William. I wish it was under better circumstances, though." She took the alcohol from the kit and poured it sparingly over the gash in her arm. She dabbed it with some gauze, hoping the cut was clean enough. She couldn't bring herself to stitch it, so she used the butterfly stitches to hold it closed instead, hoping it wouldn't get infected.
 
He carefully stripped off his bandages.
"Sorry. That's not safe."
He took the needle and thread with a steady hand and begun to stitch her gash.
 
Melanie cried out as he began to stitch her arm. She bit her lip, her canine puncturing it and causing it to bleed. She gritted her teeth, trying not to think about what he was doing. Happy place. Go to a happy place!
 
Mel thought it was kind of strange for him to be touching her so intimately, but given their situation, she welcomed the contact. She needed a little comfort in light of recent events. She smiled. "Thank you, Will." She pulled up the medical bag and looked through it. "There's some aspirin in here. Would you like some?"
 
"No, I'm fine. I've... I think I've dealt with worse."
His voice was unsure. This amnesia was killing him, mentally. He desperately wanted to remember what happened to crash the plane, and who he was.
All he knew was his name. And age.
