"I have to...its the way we are, I can't go against tradition and instinct." He said as he hugged her close. "Please...just bare with me, I won't let them do anything too severe to you."
 
Elie pulled away from him, tears in her eyes, "I can 't do this." She fell to her knees and cried into her hands.
 
"Then go...go to your uncle..." He said as he patted her head. He turned and left out the door. If she remembered what he said earlier, she'd know that he was heading for the uncle to get himself killed. A life without her wasn't a life to live for him.
 
"No! Nathan! Come back! Please." She crawled after him as she cried harder. "Don't leave me!" She was trembling.
 
Nathan stopped as he turned to her. "Well I can't be with you if you won't accept those terms!! I want to, but I can't go against my race!" He said painfully to her.
 
Elie crawled to him. "Okay. okay. I will do it. Just please do not leave me. Please." She was crying hard now into her hands.
 
Nathan dropped to his knees and caressed her in a hug. He pulled her close to him. "I won't leave you and I won't let anyone hurt you...I'm so sorry things have become difficult Elie..."
 
She nodded as she calmed down. She looked up at him, "It is okay." She whispered as she slowly started to pass out in his arms.
 
Elie curled up next to him as she fell into a deep sleep.

As she slept Jason returned. "Yo, I am back." He said as he walked into the room.
 
Jason shurged, "What is the deal with her and you? I passed a bunch of slayers, they are looking for the two of you. They kill all vampires in their path."
 
Jason's eyes went wide, "What the fuck are you still doing with her. Leave her and run for your life."
 
"No. I already told you, she is my lover. I'll never leave her, even if my life is at risk. You don't know the pain she just went through, I can't just leave her out of the blue."
 
Jason snorted, "Well, I am not sticking around to be slaughtered. Have fun, bud. See you in hell." He said as he ran out of the room and left them.
 
Elie groaned as she slowly started to wake up. She looked up at him and smiled. "You are still here. I am sorry about before. I just freaked out. It was my first time and you were already sharing me."
 
She blinked, "It must be bad. Are you not scared?" She asked as she looked up at him. Her head on his chest.
 
Nathan raised an eyebrow. "I say 'hell yes'." He said smiling to her as he took her hand and led her to the bathroom. He turned on the water to the bathtub and looked at her.
